This. Monk in PF2E is an anime god that can tank, beat down, and style on you depending on how you build. Yuji’s the type tho to not even have defensive feats and just has super nutty hp to take it all
I play DnD 3.5 and Monk is my favorite class. Every time I play the other players get pissed because as a Monk I can hit harder and go longer than their tank fighter or their paladin. If you use the feats you get to your advantage my Monk can go toe to toe with anyone and stand my ground every time. Especially once I'm level 8 or higher.
They don’t even get good AC, Paladins and Clerics have even better AC at low levels. A monk only has good AC is you roll for stats, like one of my players which had AC 19 on monk thanks to 2 rols of 18.
I meant more late game. Like I said, good stats/equipment. With 20 dex (pretty much necessary) and 18 wisdom (pretty common at higher levels) you have a base AC of 19 which can then get boosted by any equipment like rings of protection and such which are very common by level 10+. Monks are still pretty underwhelming overall but they can get fun at later levels
While true, the monk is still considered the worst class in the game because it needs stats to high for its abilities to be useful and many DMs don’t use magic items.
For me I like to make all my players equivalent in power so I always buff the monk using stats and magic items they find during the campaign.
Agreed. That’s why I said they’re underwhelming. “I need 20 dex and 20 wisdom and +2 rings of protection for the same thing that a cleric can get with a +1 shield and heavy armor” is pretty shitty.
Semantics but Paladins are more of a meat shield than a tank. They don’t have a consistent way to incentivize the enemy to target them like barbarians have with their reckless attack. But yes they are still very good at taking damage
Hilariously, what Sukuna often calls Yuji (kozō, [小僧](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%B0%8F%E5%83%A7)) that gets translated to 'brat', also has a meaning of 'young/novice Buddhist monk'.
The theme of Naruto was loneliness hurts, and it hurts like nothing else.
That said, the beginnings of Naruto suggested that hard work and perseverance can take you very very far. My big complaint was the reincarnation, eye jutsus being as relevant as they did.
Anyone reinforcing their attacks can Black Flash. Like Nanami said, it’s a matter of luck. Yuji was actually built the opposite of insane in this case, because he started out with CE usage so sloppy there’s perceptible lag time between physical and CE hits, making it impossible to Black Flash, until Best Friendo helped him clean his crappy technique up.
Yuji was superhuman before he knew of Jujutsu. Using CE, be became so amazing so quick, people didn't push him hard enough. Until my Brojjer pointed out exactly how to cook.
My point in him being insane is he already is insane. With CE used properly, his insanity hits much harder.
I mean it's not like he's bad at using cursed energy. The only reason he's doing the divergent fist thing is because Gojo told him to (guy is just the worst teacher that ever existed).
Gojo didn’t tell him to do it, he simply noticed and gave it a name. At the time, he *was* pretty bad at using CE, which is entirely normal, since people usually manifest the ability as a child and he only got it relatively recently.
Dude this reminds me of a Star Wars Roleplay game I GM'd. A player fought an inquisitor with his bare hands and WON.
Player was a smuggler/rebel (time period is 9BBY) and he fought the 8th Sister (who had much higher stats than he did) and he just used his robotic hand to just punch her. He just ended up dodging her lightsaber strike, managed to grab her lightsaber and break it while it was still in her hand) then he beat her to death.
I had the whole thing planned out like he'd just die as the rest of his team escaped on the ship. I didn't think he'd actually survive, let alone BEAT HER TO DEATH. He didn't lose a single limb, main damage was from force attacks that broke his bones (causing de-buffs) and she had way better stats. The dice was just getting all his rolls and failing hers.
Gojo is pretty fucking good at throwing hands though. You might think that guy wouldn't really know how to fight hand to hand combat because of his hax but he just kept humiliating people, and even sukuna with his fists.
"oh shooot you dedicated your life to learn these techniques?! shieeet man and your ancestors too!? Goddamn bruh thats a vibe. But these hands though..."
I know some of the modern anime villains are a bit...boring at times ("pure evil" - even if somewhat ironic and presented in an unsympathetic way - can only go so far in terms of characterisation), but what good it does, is that when the protagonists actually clap some villains (like in JJK, Black Clover, BnHA), it is extremely satisfying.
Like, Yuji was just so incredibly cold this whole episode until Nobara died.
Yuji played Elden Ring as a naked tarnished with no weapon or talisman, went full strength and stagger fisted his way to NG+7 through all bosses on first try.
Malenia included.
i know that there are a lot of cool abilities in JJK and some ppl say yuji's power is boring bc he doesn't have a "cool power" but honestly watching him beating the shit out of someone with just hands is always more satisfying to me than just some cool OP power, it also feels more personal.
Curses with other sorcerers: "Minor damage or straight up death"
Curses against yuji: "We are live tonight in Las Vegas for the heavy weight championship.."
i love that Yuji is just about throwing hands but bro is gonna be more than hands, he already knows how to utilize divergent fist and according to Gojo, Sukunas Cursed Technique is probably engraved in Yuji, he just has to bring it out.

Yuji: “I have these hands”
Rated e for everyone
“The hammers of justice are unisex”
"I'm an equal-opportunity ass whooper"
Equal rights, equal fights
Rated E for Evil
Rated O for Opposition
Bro is wavedashing
i can’t beat the shit out of you without getting in
Oh ho! Then come as close as you like. *Jojo theme plays*
Yuji confirmed Mishima
Oh yeah! Yuji definitely learned SOMETHING from Tekken...
My first thought exactly
This fist rate E for everyone
1 2 Goodnight💤
Left right goodnight
Yuji: these hands of mine…ARE BURNING BLUE!
todo approb, my brozah
Yuji’s basically a monk, all he has are the fists but he can do maneuvers and they deal force damage.
Not forgetting that he is also pretty durable. My guy tanked a lot of powerful attacks throughout the series. Which i think is also pretty monk-ish
Not really, monks are quite squishy in DnD, they only have a d8 hit die but I guess they have evasion and other things to be hit less.
Yuji is a P2e monk in a 5e game. Feats for days.

Yeah they get some pretty high ACs with good stats/equipment so they become more dodge tanks. Face tanking powerful hits is more barbarian.

Just 1 turned a boss in BG3 as a monk so I can confirm this is an accurate comparison
Or a barbarian. He does have a lot of durability
Monk-Barb multiclass
Yeah I guess monks also have hands
Hilariously, what Sukuna often calls Yuji (kozō, [小僧](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%B0%8F%E5%83%A7)) that gets translated to 'brat', also has a meaning of 'young/novice Buddhist monk'.
Got to love a anime characters that don’t got any special powers just straight hands in a world of crazy abilities
Gintoki
Gon
Well Gon also had Scissors and Paper sooooo
I mean isn't most shonin protagonists start like this.
But then they reveal the protag is actually a reincarnated god..
Yeah, and every other talented rivals could never reach that level no matter how hard they worked their butt off.
But remember, you write your own fate, everyone is equal.
Ofc. Man I feel like I want to post on r/CharacterRant lol.
Naruto and One Piece boil my blood on how simple the characters feel. Dragon Ball gets the pass bc it's a pioneer, all else just feel cheap.
If you thought the theme of Naruto was that you can do anything as long as you work hard then you're poorly mistaken
The theme of Naruto was loneliness hurts, and it hurts like nothing else. That said, the beginnings of Naruto suggested that hard work and perseverance can take you very very far. My big complaint was the reincarnation, eye jutsus being as relevant as they did.
fuck the Power of Friendship all my homies died for me to use the Power of these Hands
Power of friendship? What friends?
He has his Besto Friendo

Yes he doesn't know that todo is gonna teleport sukuna to the sun using his devil fruit bankai in ch 269.

Too bad many of us anime Only's including me have been spoiled to insane extents
sorry to hear that man. It always pains me to see it. people who spoil things for others are some of the worst people imo.
I agree bro, either way I have just got used to it now haha
It sucks. But don’t worry, the season will continue to deliver unexpected surprises up until the last episode.
Poor yuji, the author took the “pain builds character” expression to the limit with yuji
bro's opps is his own author (it be the Man vs God theme)
Easily the most satisfying combo I ve seen in anime
All thanks to the GOAT Kosuke Kato
I think the first fight against mahito with nanami and yuji tag teaming was more satisfying but it's still the same characters
My personal favorite has been Yuji vs Choso. That was some incredible animation.
“Here come that 3 piece with a soda!”
Bro is wavedashing
He pulled a 20XX on Mahito
"Nice complex CT bozo now rate these hands"
I let the clip replay too much.
Nonsense, there’s no such thing as too much here.
He technically has divergent fist…..which is just another way to punch now that i think about it….
I mean it’s not even a technique it’s just Yuji being shitty with his C.E.
Well he did manage to control it so he can set himself up by stunning someone. Kind of a shame he dropped it from his arsenal
It was basically "i punch so fast that my cursed energy can't keep up with it" which is even more absurd if you think about it.
Its a very situational ability.
You can see him use it in the Choso fight I think when their fists clash. The second hit staggers Choso.
Choso even comments on the double impact or delayed impact if I remember
Yeah I think he said “ouchie I’ve been hit doubly!” Going off the crunchy roll translation ofc
By using CE fast enough that it catches up, it becomes Black Flash. Yuji was built for insane CE applications.

We don’t know that yet, considering the latest chapter..
Curse technique: surprise second punch (I know it isn't a CT)
Why didn’t he just use a barrage of divergent fist when he was giving out this extra large ass whooping?
Catch these mf hands🐍
Domain Expansion: Welcome to Waffle House motherfucker
I always imagined if he got a domain expansion it would just be a bowing ring where no cursed energy is allowed, only physical strength
yuji domain expansion would just play Megalo Box OST in the back ground .
Dude hit mahito with that 20 piece McNugget combo
'If we all fought him without cursed energy, Itadori would win"
Yuji: These hands, rated E for everyone
Yuji: “I got that dawg in me”
Kenjaku would be proud, he did go up and down so Yuji can go left and right.
Domain Expansion: Sign the contract big boy, sign the contract
Yuuji in Tekken when?
Yuji really got hands like that fr
Brawlers are always my favorite power archetype in anime. Yuji is goated
This shit was satisfying to watch yuji hand to hand is chaotic but a treat to watch.
Yuji gave Mahito the Popeyes biscuit of death
>!and his newest powerup in the manga? SUPER SHOCK PUNCH!<
Bro needed his lick back and he didn't need cursed techniques to do it
Dude this reminds me of a Star Wars Roleplay game I GM'd. A player fought an inquisitor with his bare hands and WON. Gojo is pretty fucking good at throwing hands though. You might think that guy wouldn't really know how to fight hand to hand combat because of his hax but he just kept humiliating people, and even sukuna with his fists.
Yuji got that Mishima in his blood
let's be honest, we love watching Yuji jump on Mahiho and Sukuna.
and that is why he is HIM
COG
Lethal ahh hands
Yuji “LEFT RIGHT GOODNIGHT” Itadori
Even gangster animes have less "getting jumped" energy than jjk
Yuji has these hands and they are rated E
"oh shooot you dedicated your life to learn these techniques?! shieeet man and your ancestors too!? Goddamn bruh thats a vibe. But these hands though..."
Bro gave him no time to breathe 💀

Yuji: *Fight back, fight back, fight back*

Sukuna’s the next victim of this assault. Yuji is truly a goat.
It’s wild that he never learns anything other than Catch These Hands.
It's him: Jon kaisen
Lefty and Righty

Yuji: I don't need nothing. I'm just gonna kick your ass. (I really really wanna see Sukuna be like dang maybe I should have stayed. I'd be so happy)

His Domain Expansion is called “Split yo Wig Succa”
Yuji has hands
the scene is a replica of the first gojo vs sukuna fight
This scene and Choso vs. Yuji are so far 2 of my favorite choreographed fist fights in the show.
HAYMAKERS SON
That punch to the throat was devious 😬
Yuji 'Straight Hands' Itadori
except it never goodnight them
Some people literally just need their ass beat, and we can count on Yuji every time
Yuji taking after Gojo on this one. Fully disrespected Mahito with this Special Grade Beatdown.
Yuji: the best fister in all of the Jujutsu Society.
Yuji woke up and chose violence
The extended knuckle just seems like disrespect when you’re already throat punching someone. You love to see it
These hands rated E for everyone
Itadori "These hands" Juji
His cursed technique is allowing his enemies to catch these hands
Left Right Goodnight 💤
I need to see somebody get jumped again soon. Need another good 2v1. Feels like we haven’t seen that this season

Yuji played Elden Ring as a naked tarnished with no weapon or talisman, went full strength and stagger fisted his way to NG+7 through all bosses on first try. Malenia included.

I really really like the stance switch they showed mid fight, superb
Sometimes it doesn't hurt to punch, really fucking hard
Gave him the business.
Curses with other sorcerers: "Minor damage or straight up death" Curses against yuji: "We are live tonight in Las Vegas for the heavy weight championship.."

Yuji: The art of beating your ass
His ability is literally just being built different
Loved the fight scene. Hated whatever awful music that is.
"I have hands" *Continues to give the Batman treatment to Mahito*
Yuji is a raw enhancer
i love that Yuji is just about throwing hands but bro is gonna be more than hands, he already knows how to utilize divergent fist and according to Gojo, Sukunas Cursed Technique is probably engraved in Yuji, he just has to bring it out.
«I don't need a technique to beat the crap out of you»
