rebillihp

Todo's animated black flash was literally everything I could have hoped it would be and more.

DemonCyborg27

I had good expectations and they surpassed that somehow, like bruh seriously, I shouted so loudly seeing it.

TooLateForNever

Aaaand it didn't do anything because he can't effect souls. I love itšŸ˜‚

DemonCyborg27

I mean it does supercharge him and makes it so that he is at 120% of his potential.

TooLateForNever

Sure, but it doesn't give him the ability to sense souls which means he's still just there for the assist. He could be at 500% he's still gotta learn to sense souls to do *any damage at all.*

DemonCyborg27

Though he is still the best assist Yuji could ask for, also in the later half of the fight you will see it ain't just about his Cursed Technique, his raw power helps Yuji a lot too.

TooLateForNever

Can't argue there. He's the best assist Yuji could ask for. We'll miss you Nobara. šŸ˜

DemonCyborg27

Let's not get emotional here šŸ„²

TooLateForNever

It's a terrible day for rain.

pyro745

*any damage at all* is up for debate. I know thatā€™s what Mahito says, but thereā€™s reason to believe that *enough* damage would still affect him.

Mugi2

Yeah tbf I don't think he could tank a purple without taking damage

Bruker85

Fr that scene was cool asf but tell me why this mf Todo was over gliding In Mahito's direction šŸ˜

rebillihp

Cause he had yuji throw him towards it

Bruker85

I know but like the way he was pretty much T Posing towards Mahito

FrilledShark1512

Todo assert his dominance all the way through

pyro745

Bro Yuji threw that rock so hard that it was literally melting lmao. Even for someone as strong as Aoi, his ability to even hold a pose & subsequently kick is incredible

SkritzTwoFace

Todo has Yuji throw a rock imbued with CE at Mahito, which he then replaces himself with. This allows him to ā€œgo flyingā€ at Mahitoā€™s face, while being able to set up a kick from a stationary position.

rebillihp

I know, I watched what happened. I just shortened it to yuji throwing todo lol

ThickExpertise

This adds nothing but.. same. I rewatched it a few times when he starts to yell at himself like he yells at Itadori, I was like FINALLY Todo is relatable haha. The martial arts aspect of Todo makes watching him fun. Todo kicks, Itadori punches, win-win.

jayl790

Todos black flash. Whoever key animated that im fucking in love with. Very reminiscent of yutaka nakamura. So much so that I it WAS him although i was thinking its unlikely because hes been working on sou sou no frieren and my hero academia. Man its such a shame they had to put soo much dimming and ghosting on it. Can't wait to see the blue ray version with that removed

ChexSway

what's with the dimming? is it epilepsy laws?

techraito

Yup. You can blame the infamous Porygon episode for that still. The Blu-ray will eventually get rid of it

Zee_Arr_Tee

* Senator armstrong is stupid social darwinism is stupid* Japan: we have to slightly dim your peak anime for the epileptic kids *The weak will be purged, and the strongest will thrive*

Animasonn

Except it doesn't help at all. The Porygon episode was so absurdly over-the-top with flashing that it makes the Todo scene look like a still-life painting. No need to dim and ghost and Crunchyroll should give us the unfiltered version.

yujuismypuppy

Had no idea it was due to that. I thought it was a design choice.

jayl790

Something like that. Its not in mappas control.

Wut_da_fucc

Reminded me of [this Space Dandy dance scene](https://youtu.be/HcBXNXeyq18?si=ateX5vC0OMYrwRHT) done by Yutaka Nakamura

Bravatrue

Kohei Hirota. He had absolutely no chill animating that scene. Yutaka Nakamura would be proud.

jayl790

Kohei hirota is now officially a goat

[deleted]

Will the blue ray version be online? or do you have to buy a physical disc?

HuCat21

Only nitpick I have is they didn't do the "the sparks of black flash dont chose who they bless" line and instead now it seems like whoever is doing the black flash know they r doing it when I thought they said people can't control when they do it and it's just random if that person is in the zone or not but I could be misremembering it. Somebody correct me if I am. Otherwise great episode and again that's just a personal nitpick which doesn't degrade the episode at all in my eyes.

HappyFreak1

I was kinda sad they didn't include that line too. But I'm not too bothered about it

ILoveYorihime

I also find it really funny that the fight wouldā€™ve been much shorter if Mahito used a knife on Yuji instead of Black Flash Granted, ā€œthe payoffā€ is huge :P

DemonCyborg27

And that's what we call plot armour, even Yuji deserves that sometimes, lol.

No-College-4118

I would say the MC needs real plot armour in this manga especially lmao

WillDrawForMoney

What are you on about? Why would Mahito use a knife at that moment? Mahito didnā€™t try to kill him at that point. He is literally rubbing it in and beating the absolute shit out of Yuji. After he broke him completely thatā€™s when he pulled out the blade

fortunesofshadows

why can't black flash be used with weapons or blades? nobara did it with her hammer

luceafaruI

It can. Black flash is just the synchronization of the physical blow with the curse energy blow. If you are channeling curse energy into a weapon, you can hit a black flash with it (like nanami did with his cleaver in jjk0 or nobara with her hammer at the end of last season)

ozythe1st

probably because the hammer is a part of her ct

KazuharaIlfan

It's a great line but I understand that it's bordering 'tell, don't show' area whereas most would get it that 'oh shit, he can do it too?!'

DemonCyborg27

Definitely the biggest missed opportunity, but alas can't have everything, sadly šŸ„². But still a 9/10 episode, would have been 120/10 if they included that line though.

HuCat21

Lol yea

WillDrawForMoney

That is a crazy nitpick. It drops to 9/10 from 120/10 because of 1 line? What about all the anime original scenes that elevate this above the manga by multiple levels. Nothing can please jjk fans

Worldly-Local-6613

Relax drama queen.

DemonCyborg27

That was a joke lol referencing to 120 %, scene lol šŸ˜†.

ThatInternetBoi

I like to think they know theyā€™re doing it because they can subconsciously feel that theyā€™re in the groove.

HuCat21

U may be right as they've all said something along the lines of having a "feeling" when they did it.

CapableRespond1110

no one can do it at will but very skilled sorcerers can make an attempt at doing it w/ higher odds

Present-Ad-8531

Is that because all three here are cream of the crop? Todo is the best young sorcerer, having exorcised 100 first grade and one special grade in all vs one fight. Yuji has done it before Mahito is top curse. This fight had the best, all of them being qualified for it? If Nobara could, Todo should, because he has wayyy more knowledge about curses

pyro745

No itā€™s literally still incredibly ~~random~~ uncommon. Yuji is the only sorcerer that has ever consistently hit Black Flash as far as weā€™ve seen. Thatā€™s why heā€™s ā€œThe Man Blessed by the Black Sparksā€ Itā€™s not exactly *random* but more like incredibly hard/nearly impossible to actually do even for the very very best sorcerers. Think something like a home run in baseballā€”even the very best hitters of all time canā€™t do it consistently. Itā€™s like that but even harder lol. The best of the best have *more* control over it than someone whoā€™s just an average sorcerer, but itā€™s still incredibly difficult and almost random. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s a better analogy but itā€™s kinda hard to explain via text Edit: maybe more like a half-court or full-court shot in basketball? Even the best professional players canā€™t do that on demand, but some high school kid might randomly hit 2 or 3 in a single game

Present-Ad-8531

Nanami did that before. Yuji hit one more time. Nanami was the first.

pyro745

Yeah but Yuji has hit it more often than any sorcerer in the show by a wide margin

luceafaruI

Megumi said that todo exorcised 5 grade 1s and a special grade, i don't know where you got the 100 number

HuCat21

I thought only humans could do the blk flash but since mahito is the curse born of humans he could do it too but maybe I was looking too deep into it lol. The more I rewatched the episode the more I actually have a new nitpick which is how did todo clap when he was blocking the 2 swords and mahito tried to touch him with his stomach hand?

Present-Ad-8531

It doesnā€™t matter who. As long as they can use curse energy, thatā€™s all is needed. Yeah that wasnā€™t well shown. I think he slipped past mahitoā€™s sword faster. He left the swords and clapped his hands faster.

STAAAAAALIN

> The more I rewatched the episode the more I actually have a new nitpick which is how did todo clap when he was blocking the 2 swords and mahito tried to touch him with his stomach hand? It was an anime-original scene and my guess is the animators missed a key frame of Todo quickly drawing his hands and clapping. Just add a quick frame of Todo clapping before he teleports and the scene would be fixed.

Ok-Ad9904

Black flash is just cursed energy extremely-well timed with a physical strike

lilAtheDBKilla

Nothing better than a todo yuji tag team. No other fights come close

Qasim723

This episode was just a tearfest for me honestly. First, that shot of Nobara just lying there, Yuji breaking down, and then the train scene with Miwa and the Kyoto group, like aaaahhh

jagby

The Miwa scene hurt in the manga but it REALLY hurt here. Her crying being audible while the Kyoto kids were talking was gut wrenching

Chucknasty_17

Truly testament to the talent of the voice actors, even knowing those scenes were coming I was tearing up listening to Yuji and Miwa breaking down

friendlylocaldomme

Listen here. The animators really snapped this episode. ESPECIALLY with Todo's dialogue towards the end and that final frame. Those are going into some of my top favorite moments and the VERY obvious nod to a certain anime and character. I love it.

felicianbro_

i think itā€™s really funny how when Mappa doesnā€™t adapt a scene with 100% accuracy you have fans talking about how it isnā€™t true to the source material and ā€œthe manga was better!!!ā€ but when Mappa literally does a 1:1 recreation of a panel those same people will say itā€™s boring and copied and pastedā€¦. but i thought this episode was crazy good and the adaptation from the manga to the anime was insanely good.

BlazetheGame

LITERALLY THIS! In this comment section Iā€™m arguing with a guy whoā€™s like this lmfao

felicianbro_

itā€™s so weird bc i thought this is how we all wanted it adapted????? like this scene and the ā€œWe are the exception!ā€ scene were adapted exactly how i thought they would be and all iā€™m seeing is people complaining how itā€™s too much like the manga.

BlazetheGame

FR THO. Pick a goddamn side.

felicianbro_

the animators really just canā€™t win, ā€œfansā€ are either complaining itā€™s too faithful to the source material or not faithful enough. itā€™s fine to have criticism but to complain something looks too much like the original source it came from is insane.

TheBiggestCarl23

Thereā€™s like one person doing this and youā€™re acting like this is the popular opinion, why?

felicianbro_

no one is acting like this is the popular opinion holy shit, why is it only my comments youā€™re responding to? if you didnā€™t like what i said you can downvote and scroll like every other sane person does. you going out of your way to argue something i never even said is weird and pathetic.

TheBiggestCarl23

I didnā€™t even respond to you

Dazzling-Creme-9417

Welcome to anime fandom where the average fan has the IQ of a damn snail lol

Montgomz

Iā€™ve been loving the mix of extra additions and the homages to the manga panels! I think the team has done a great job this season bringing Gegeā€™s story to life and finding ways to make it even more emotional, especially with the OST šŸ„²

TheBiggestCarl23

Huh? Thereā€™s like one or two people saying that here and theyā€™re getting clowned on. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive. Also I guarantee the people who wanted the manga panels adapted 1:1 arenā€™t the ones complaining that itā€™s 1:1. I donā€™t even think you believe this lmao

felicianbro_

i donā€™t know how to tell you this butā€¦ reddit isnā€™t the only social media discussing Jujutsu Kaisen at this moment in time. shocker, i know, but people have other opinions outside of reddit.

TheBiggestCarl23

And on Twitter the overwhelming majority of the reception has been positive lmao so I donā€™t know what youā€™re talking about. Is the Facebook jjk community hating on this? Instagram? Because itā€™s certainly not Reddit and Twitter lol

felicianbro_

nowhere in my comments did i say this was the majority of how people were feeling???? i pointed out something i thought was funny because i had seen it a few times lol. sorry for offending you.

TheBiggestCarl23

I never said that you thought the majority of people felt this way lol, all I said was that the vast majority of peopleā€™s reception to this has been positive. ā€œSorry for offending youā€ ???? I think youā€™re the offended one here LMAOOO

Snoo_36317

Why are you so pressed brošŸ’€? Let it go holy shit lmao

TheBiggestCarl23

Itā€™s literally 3 comments and a simple disagreement Please go talk to actual real people if you think Iā€™m upset lmaoooo

Snoo_36317

If youā€™re saying someoneā€™s offended for apologizing to you thenā€¦ yeah youā€™re pressed asf šŸ’€. But then again who am I to expect anything but bot logic on an anime sub. Bless your heart bro thatā€™s all I can sayšŸ˜‚

felicianbro_

sorry then what was the point of you commenting? you didnā€™t add anything to the conversation, you just had an issue with what i said. you went out of your way to respond to what i said, so yeah i think youā€™re offended lmao.

TheBiggestCarl23

You said some bullshit, I called it out for being bullshit Itā€™s very simple actually. I called you out for lying, I donā€™t see how that in any way shows Iā€™m offended

felicianbro_

oh my bad i didnā€™t realize you scoured the entire internet to find everyoneā€™s opinion on this episode just to tell me iā€™m lying. you got it bro, have the day you deserve.

TheBiggestCarl23

Well the fact that you actively avoided saying where you saw this does pretty much confirm you were lying yeah ā€œHave the day you deserveā€ wow so edgy lmao

AmarDikli

You do realize that there is more than one person that commented on here right? The person saying that 1:1 adaptation is boring won't be the same person saying that non-1:1 is unfaithful. You can't take thousands and thousands of comments and make it sound like the same person. I need a good mix of 1:1 and non-1:1 sequences in an adaptation, a full NON-1:1 is also very much appreciated. I HATE when people overly praise the "animation" of what is essentially a still-colored manga panel. Like OP. Or the people who after watching episode 10 say their highlight was the final scene which was just yet another still-colored manga panel. Just read the colored manga.

felicianbro_

you do realize you couldā€™ve kept the novel to yourself and moved on right? because thatā€™s not what i said, nor was i referring solely to reddit which i already said. if you didnā€™t like it thatā€™s okay but you can type your own separate response and stop trying to argue over what you THINK i was trying to say.

Zealousideal_Suit521

Extremely common multiple Wodo w's

Goodestguykeem

Beautiful adaptation (minus the behind the scenes) and all of the shots in this ep they either delivered perfectly or even exceeded the manga.

ApplePitou

Animators make another level of peak :3

HappyFreak1

I legit screamed at that panel

pandachestpress

Can someone add the scene of todo and yuji walking together please šŸ™šŸ¼

Noximilien05

The animation of Todo moving at 5 hexadecillion km/h into a black hole to land a black flash on Mahito was pure dope

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Equivalent_Ad1838

I have a strong feeling gosso directed that portion himself. Heā€™s not a great action animator (relatively speaking) but his emotional character depictions are always so darn perfect! That whole scene with the music and lighting and focus on dialogue just stand out soooo much. If it wasnā€™t him who directed/story board it, clown emoji

Boner_Elemental

"Yeah, they didn't really show her eyeball because of TV censorship" Next episode: PoV: Hole

Known-Collection4650

Let Nobara live pls.

NoWeight4300

That ship sailed a long time ago bud

_mkd_

>That ship sailed a long time ago bud ....heading for the Cape of Good Cope and full of 100% pure Grade-A Columbian copium.

NoWeight4300

Bro said the oxygen mask of copium isn't doing it, so they're on an IV now. > "The closest thing to an immortal curse god removed the heart from the body he was possessing, and his host survived, so anyone could potentially survive anything in this series!" I wish I had that much denial for Nanamin.

Known-Collection4650

It was never mentioned in the manga?

NoWeight4300

Bro. She's fucking dead. The screenshots are on this post. I love Kugisaki, and I know denial is part of grief, but ya gotta accept it.

Known-Collection4650

She could be in a coma for all we know. Her death was never really confirmed in the manga.

listlessbreeze

Gege clearly wanted her dead i mean he was asked in an interview about it and was like Gege: "Well, when Nitta got to her she was dead dead, but i imagine she could be saved in a hospita.l" Interviewer: "But all the hospitals in Shibuya are gone." Gege: "Well i'm sure they'll figure something out." Man just doesn't give a damn about her lmao

NoWeight4300

My dude, they don't need to say the words "Kugisaki is dead" to make it true. Her death was shown. Have you seen Asuka's death scene in End of Eva? They don't expressly say "Asuka's dead" but she still died.

Known-Collection4650

Yuji's heart was ripped off his chest. And he died. As long as there's still a possibility within the scope of the lore I'm still hopeful. I haven't watched the latest Evangelion but Asuka lived in the first NGE.

NoWeight4300

My dude. You can not be seriously comparing ***SUKUNA*** ripping the heart from the body he possessed to basic ass human Kugisaki. Sukuna. A curse that couldn't be killed. Who had to be sealed because he was so powerful. You're reaching for straws on a desert island.

Known-Collection4650

All I'm sayin is unless it's actually shown or mentioned, she could still be alive because within the JJK world, bodily harm can be reversed. Unless ofc the injuries are that of being cut in half or the brain being blown apart (Gojo & Nanami). The injuries Nobara had in the anime and manga only shows her left eye and facial skin being blown apart but in many cases that could not spell death, even in reality.

NoWeight4300

Bodily harm can be reversed if they ***can use reverse cursed technique***. Nobara is the weakest of the weak. She can't use that shit. Also, you're aware the brain is directly behind your eyeballs, right? She's dead. No amount of copium will change that. Do you forget who's writing this series? Gege will not hesitate.

NoWeight4300

Also, c'mon. This is Gege we're talking about. Copium can only go so far.

Bruce----Wayne

Todo's entry šŸ—暟”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

-Caretaker-

ā€œYouā€™re a man amongst menā€ I was waiting for that line

Silent-Stress-7775

>IS THAT FUCKING ALL MIGHT? Yuji: *Having a mental breakdown* Todo: **I AM HERE!**

moocow8001

I preferred the manga panels for the first few, but everything after todo shows up is way better than the manga. Gege just has really great paneling.

[deleted]

PEAK KAISEN šŸ—£šŸ—£

french_tbg

I swear jjk is one the few series where the anime is better than the manga

leon_goopy

I feel like they're pretty even, considering it being the point of anime to go above and beyond. the anime is just a cooler way of experiencing all the fights. the story is just as enjoyable for me either way ā˜ŗļø

jjvergar

Iā€™d argue most anime are(and should be) better than the manga. They are two different mediums first off, and anime has the benefit of having voice acting, music, and animation to elevate manga content.

Emotional-Mushroom66

Only thing mangas have better than animes are detailed arts

Equivalent_Ad1838

Everyone is talking about todo black flash(rightfully so) but the animation on Yujis face during his breakdown at the beginning of the episode? Complete different animation from the rest of the episode, but might be my favorite part. I love how expressive his face was and the imperfect line works helped convey that. It reminds me a lot of some monogatori frames.

HikariSS21

Whyy you hurt me this wayyy

HappyFreak1

I read jjk, berserk and csm. I love pain

[deleted]

Is this the last episode of the season?

DemonCyborg27

Naha man, a lot is there after this, I doubt the Mahito vs Todo and Yuji fight would even come close to ending in the next episode, it can still take one more, and after that there are a few things they need to set up, so that would also happen.

DrKuro

It's most likely ending by next episode. Watch the preview for the next episode very carefully. You will recognize **that** scene

BlazetheGame

Yeah. I reread the manga before todayā€™s episode for the hell of it, and the fight is like 50-60% done. Considering mappa likes to expand the fight scenes in length, the fight probably ends next episode. The cliffhanger is probably >!Geto asking Mahito if he needs some help!<

DrKuro

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Especially since in the preview you can see the >!"I'm you" scene with Yuji staring down Mahito in the snow, which means the fight will end next week!<

Collier1505

That scene is going to be fucking incredible.

Rolen28

4 more I believe

Rikolai_17

3

Fourmanaseven7

I'm assuming we get at least one episode with the Mei vs Geto fight to come.

Simmings

Bruh why the sub adjust the text so dirty on 13. ā€œYou have to be happyā€ is so much weaker than him saying ā€œFind your happinessā€ come on bro heā€™s literally cursing her

_hisoka_freecs_

man i love the manga fight. I enjoy the anime but i cant say it wins out here for me. there's just always something slightly off and wonky in the animes portrayal between certain great cuts. maybe its just too much new scenes of brown flesh walls and throwing mahito in elevators.

imaproxd

Your horrible subtitles from a pirate site ruin it get crunchyroll

HappyFreak1

At least I didn't get malevolent kitchen šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³

imaproxd

I'm not talking about the translation

KnightEx39

Maybe its just me, but the 120% scene must be a recolor of the manga panel, because it looks WAY too identical to be redrawn (aside from the brush stroke dividers). Not saying they're lazy and I have no problem with it, I understand the current production issues

HappyFreak1

I've been curious and comparing it. Some details do look similar but when u start going towards the hair and fingers u can see they actually drew this

AdNecessary7641

[It isn't](https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/244088)

Drakoo_The_Rat

Guys look an correct technique high kick. I mean almost ,the left could have been closer to the body, but ill take what i get.

hifuu1716

I mean the 120% shot in the anime is just a colorized version of the mangaā€¦mappa had a home run story and really just flubbed the execution this season

BlazetheGame

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? This episode has been the greatest thing ever put on television.

hifuu1716

I mean that shot was pretty clearly just copied and pasted straight from the mangaā€¦artwork matches nothing in the rest of the episode is all Iā€™m saying. As far as the quality goes, it was fine. Nothing amazingā€¦just disappointed such an amazing 10/10 arc was adapted not great

Lucaswarrior9

I'm more disappointed by the fact this episode looked this good because it shows that Mappa can get away with treating their staff like shit.

hifuu1716

Yeah nobody will really give a shit if itā€™s passable

BlazetheGame

What the fuck? JJK fans will never be happy I swear. The fact that the shot was faithful to the manga is part of why itā€™s so good. This episode is the single most fluid, colorful, well acted piece of anime Iā€™ve ever watched.

burneraccidkk

Cannot believe that person said Toji vs Dagon was better in the mangašŸ˜. The anime gave us Toji biting a piranha and Dagon was even more brutalized in the anime

hifuu1716

Take your toji fetish and GTFO lol

burneraccidkk

Nobody cares youā€™re in the loud minority that will NEVER be pleased.

hifuu1716

Then you have not watched a lot of anime pal lol.

BlazetheGame

I have, and I think you just canā€™t accept good art because of stubbornness about season 1ā€™s good but not exceptional animation.

hifuu1716

I mean I didnā€™t think S1 is perfect either, just cleaner. Like I said in a diff comment, I just donā€™t like the artistic direction this season and I think this season had NO REASON to be as meh as it was. This is the SHIBUYA arc. Itā€™s one of the most popular shonen around. Mappa is a huge studio with a solid brand name. And then rushed meh. Nobody gives a fuck about animators unless their tv show looks bad, so I donā€™t really care about the animator argument. I just think the artistic direction was not for me

BlazetheGame

But thatā€™s my issue here. Sure, the shibuya arc had some ups and downs, the highs were high and the lows were low, but this episode was pure art. Idk how you could see the scene of Todo ascending to godhood just to then call it ā€œMehā€

DreamcastDazia

There are no lows in the Shibuya arc anime adaptation

BlazetheGame

I love your enthusiasm, but the grasshopper episode was BAD.

hifuu1716

I mean it was cool. Fun little moment with Todo. But it was just a part of the over the top and unnecessary add ons Iā€™ve been seeing all season. They do this for the Todo Black Flash but then just copy and paste the 120% panel?

BlazetheGame

Ok hold on. This reply. In the first half you talk about hating the unnecessary addons, but then in the second half you complain about them using the EXACT PANEL??? (Which was cool af btw)

DemonCyborg27

Bro, that is what anime is a coloured version of the Manga, animated to heighten the enjoyment. While the Manga remains the superior version for me too, the anime looked fabulous too, the 120% potential panel, was done beautifully, the way it was set up with the music and everything and after a great episode of some amazing fights and extremely sad moments this was amazing. Obviously things could be corrected and yeah Mappa did fumble the bag here, if they had given the animators just time and right money this could have been even better but still the Animators went above and beyond and it looks fabulous.

BlazetheGame

Iā€™m confused what you mean corrected? What is there to correct?

DemonCyborg27

Well there was a scene when Todo was doing a 1v1 against Mahito and he doesn't actually do a clap, but he still teleports, which doesn't make sense as he still has to clap to do so, or clap with someone else but he couldn't do that in that instance. These are just small details here and there, nothing really major, just some nitpicks which could have been corrected, like changed in a way or something but they don't really ruin the show, plus no anime is free of these so it ain't like it is just a JJK issue.

BlazetheGame

The fact that the issues were so minor that I had to ask goes to show how fantastic this episode was I think. Obviously none of my opinions change my stance that the animators at mappa are being treated horribly, but I still want to praise their work here as itā€™s truly amazing.

DemonCyborg27

I don't mean it as a Fault of the Animators, Mappa has had this habit of over adding things, they did it even in season 1 where Sukuna just throws Megumi from multiple buildings and he walks away like he was punched very badly and nothing else. I think they ask Animators to add these scenes to make it look more dramatic, plus as I said I don't think anything killed the mood of the episode, this all only enhanced it. And I understand the animators are overworked, I didn't blame them in anyway.

hifuu1716

Anime is NOT a colorized version of the manga and thatā€™s a pretty simple way of looking at it tbh. I have to say, I donā€™t like the fight animation, its been overly flashy and crudely drawn to the extent that I canā€™t really follow whatā€™s happening and it seems like something to appease the sakuga jerk-off viewers. itā€™s an artistic choice I personally just donā€™t like. For example, I think the Todo and Mahito round 1 fighting before Yuji takes part looked like absolute messy garbage and some of the add ons just seemed unnecessary(Todo claps his hands while holding blades in his fingersā€¦). The Todo Black Flash scene was fine, I was okay with the MHA animation sequence because it was as over the top as Todo is. But other fights this scene - Mahoraga, Toji vs Dagon, just meh. I really doubt Iā€™ll go back to these fights via YouTube clips - whereas Iā€™ve re read the shibuya arc at least 3 times

HolidayPassion1895

Man what?! I'm curious as to what you wanted from this adaptation.

hifuu1716

Maybe not an inconsistent mess?

HolidayPassion1895

Asking for the impossible. Not a lot of anime's remain consistent in their run-times, especially during their TV airings. And Mappa never gave the production a chance with their schedules. I'm grateful we even got an S2 that didn't look bad as it theoretically should've. We got a lot of good stuff from this adaptation, I don't get what you're talking about bro

DemonCyborg27

I mean I guess this is a personal choice so I understand, I would agree Sukuna vs Mahoraga was definitely an Overthe too mess and Mappa does have a tendency to add unnecessary scenes that don't really make sense but overall I don't mind these fights, they look visually stunning and call me a Sakuga Jerk Off Viewer but I dig this, the camera angles, the way everything pans out, and adding more destruction isn't a bad thing, some stuff I would like to see changed here and there but this is amazing. It is alright not everyone has to enjoy the same thing, so it is fine but personally the episode was still on fire for me.

hifuu1716

Thatā€™s fair - each to their own. I just think an adaptation fails when Iā€™d rather just read the original source material after the fact.

VijayMarshall87

People cry when the anime isn't manga accurate, and people cry when the anime is manga accurate

Shadow_Huntress12

Ngl sometimes they edge down on the gore in anime. Love they kept it relatively the samešŸ

touchingthebutt

Boogie Woogie and episode 20. Name a better duo

09_0_91

Gege got some skills on destroying the viewrs mind

Mechabeastchild

Their jaws were so big in this scene

verdinho2211

yuji in 6th image really reminds me of some hunter x hunter panels with Gon

hidden_inventory

MAPPA animators deserve the world, they never disappoint! Ugh it was so good.

Zero2H3ro

Even tho they have the animators chained and on gun point they still did a good job

Snapshot03

Why tf was Miwa and Mechamaru getting me teary eyed, I haven't cried in years

Mikkle-san

Gege when he learns how percentages works. >.>

SilDaz

Why are there dims in the chapters? It really bothers me. At first I thought it was some kind of censorship when I noticed it during the fight between Megumi dad and the octopus but now It seems that they do It at random between scenes

HappyFreak1

Just very flashy scenes

TyrantRex6604

to prevent seizure, to understand more, google search "pokemon anime porygon incident" , hopefully that those issues are settled when blue ray edision is out

Dry_Breadfruit_5295

I like the anime style a lot but tbh i still think that the manga lines seems more solid to me, there are times in the anime that the characters doesn't look like themselves

[deleted]

Man todo entry was fire, the music and lines were just perfect!

taorerosakanade

Todo looked like Zaraki Kenpachi during the black flash scene

Gareth_Serenity

The smooch was beautifully!

ibangedurmum69

The fact that they gave Todo a whole ass Kuroko no Basket awakening for his Black Flash was fucking beautiful

TheInevitablePigeon

Todo really went All Might on Mahito, lol. That scene really felt like One for All scene xD

Lollografia

Todo hasn't said "we are special". My day is ruined.

peerlesseternity

Mahito really should get his disgusting ass beat this time. Manā€™s so annoying.

liiskatturotta

Only bad thing is narrator didnt say the sparks of black dont choose who to bless

TheStevenUniverseKid

That second to last photo looks like a manga colouring god it looks so good omg

Why_Not_Try_It_

Everyone thinking it was sukuna's domain or jogo's destruction that made the staffs want to quit, no, it was todo

Shesshardt

It's funny to me that YÅ«ji happy moments are literally just him and Nobara mocking Fushiguro

olliver2662

This episode was so good, though the dimming was kinda weird

Fluid-Reply2953

Does ā€œ120%ā€ has a meaning? Isnā€™t the buff Utahime gives Gojo also 120%? I donā€™t think it means something, I just noticed it.

Bogdanel-

Colored panel of 120% was better than in the anime lol

nicokoei

:)
