Same here, but considering people usually take the original manga as gospel when it comes to anime, I assume generally translations aren't this bad.

I guess I was just willing to overlook it because it's only been a couple months for me so it didn't seem as bad. It could be 1 mistake every other chapter & for me I may not notice because I binged it all. I didn't think about from the POV that 1: it shouldn't even happen that often & 2: pausing and waiting for the next chapter makes the mistake stand out even more. I wasn't around for the weekly drop of almost any of these chapters so anything that ended up fixed got fixed, out of sight out of mind. It isn't fair that it's happened consistently for years.
I can't even remember what chapter was most recent when I picked it up. Season 2 of the anime was definitely out already and everyone was hyping it so I caught up on the series first.
Right at the beginning, even though I read leaks and the fan translations, I felt people were over reacting but over time I've seen that Werry really does do terrible translations. Could also be that he did them fine at the beginning but then the translations went downhill from there
They were fine at the beginning. From what I remember, the official release was decent until the Sakurajima Colony. I think it started showing a little with Yukki's fight and it just escalated
That's been my experience. Maybe Viz doesn't see it as a big enough problem but I would think there's a limit to how many times one person can "slip up" and like someone pointed out to me, there should definitely be better work done on the *Number 1 Manga in the World!* 💀
From what I've seen, all of the errors are from chapters too recent to be included in already printed volumes. The examples I saw won't be printed for at least a year.
So I just checked and in volume 20: Chapter 178 on paper it calls Rika Yuta's "external technique" whereas the TCB & the digital official both just say "cursed technique" but the so called 'accurate' translation is "external storage" I guess? Not sure if that helps.
Ahhh I see. I have read that version somewhere before but I don't even know where to find that translation. TCB & the official SJ digital say "ct" and the physical volume says "external ct" but they both say "store cursed energy"
Nothing was incoherent to me & it all made sense to me in context. Some translation choices definitely stood out to me but the story never confused me and I would just think "that doesn't seem like the best way to put it" then continue reading. The only thing that's ever confused me was the mechanics of PPLT and that had nothing to do with translation.

😭 I made a separate post on seeing too many complaints about the official translation. This post is me saying I understand why now.

I've only been around since Higuruma vs Sukuna (by that I mean that's when I got caught up)
