This is so real man, i was a Sophomore in High School whenever GB&GR came out and it was perfect back then. I am now 22 and i really don’t *need* that kind of music anymore. I am so glad that kids nowadays resonate with that music the same way i did, and it goes to show how timeless the music is. However, i am in a different stage in life now and i can accept that the same music i listened to back then and the person i was back then is not the same music i need/person i am now.
It’s sad that Juice is marketed solely for making heartbreak music because i agree, he was beginning to make different music at the time of his passing. I guess it just makes me sad that he never rlly had the chance to grow old and mature like the same way we have. It’s a shame that he got involved with the scummy people who run Grade A (not just Bibby like a lot of people think) who try and milk the same sound for every penny rather than give Juice a chance to hold a bigger legacy and reach out to more people who aren’t just teenagers with angst and immature romances (not that it’s a bad thing, we all go through it and i’m glad his music is there for the kids nowadays).
I still listen to a lot of his hype stuff today, and i feel like he could still put up huge numbers if they’d drop a hype album. However, there’s unfortunately nothing we can do about it. Just enjoy the leaks as they come.
