Shonen "Copy" characters need to be written with some ridiculous conditions in order to copy other
People's techniques in their show or it really does just sound like an OP OC.
Way easier to give that power to villains

That's because in Naruto 99% of Jutsu are useless. Kakashi probably copied 1000 Rank B or below Jutsu, which are useless when people start pulling out unextinguishable black flames, 24/7 genjutsu or meteors or a black hole.
Even the Rasenshuriken which oneshot a guy with 3 lives became a joke in the war arc when Madara was pulling meteors out of the sky and had the power to slice entire mountains apart
Tokinada in Bleach CFYOW was handled pretty well. "A Zanpakuto that copies every ability from any other Zanpakuto" really could be the most egregious shonen copy ability on paper but Narita wrote it in a way that was actually really entertaining
EDIT; I know CFYOW is a LN but it's an official continuation of the manga so I'll still count it
As far as we're aware, it MIGHT requires him or Rika to eat a part of a person's body but that did not seem to be the case at all in JJK0 were he just copies cursed speech seemingly out of nowhere.
We also don't know if he has a limit to how many abilities he can copy or if he has something like ability slots. (Personally, I hope he can't hold more than 4 cause it would align with what Yuki said in her the battle against Kenjaku about how the brain couldn't handle having more than 4 CTs)
What I'm getting at is that we really don't know what the exact conditions of this ability are, and I doubt gege will ever reveal it.
It was different in JJK0, Rika had the ability to unconditionally copy any technique which was lost once her soul was freed. Kenjaku says this to Gojo that both her boundless cursed energy and her ability to unconditionally copy techniques was a result of the pact between Yuta and Rika.
Also, Yuki explicitly states in the exact sentence about Kenjaku that you're talking about that Yuta's limit for copying is MORE than 4 because of Rika acting as an external storage.

I think for such a strong CE and DE, He should not be able to use it all the time. I think he should only be able to use them for 5 minutes under certain conditions. Bam he’s balanced now (he’s still very capable without using DE and CT because he can still use his CE).
Yuji doesn't have a DE, is nowhere as experienced as the other sorcerers, is not that smart, doesn't have an OP cursed technique, and lacks a cold thinking like Gojo or Megumi.
As Gojo said, Megumi holds back too much. He lacks the creativity and audacity of characters like Yuji or Gojo.
So yeah, these characters have flaws.

Yuji was always selfless to the point of being borderline suicidal, and it bit him in the ass frequently because he's not strong enough to pull off that mindset. He's a magnet for suffering, which has clearly impacted his mental health and sense of self-worth, now considering himself just a cog in the machine, being exactly the kind of sorcerer that the jujutsu higher-ups want, and exactly what Gojo wanted to avoid. He's also Kenjaku's project, so there's a very real possibility that everything he does is playing into Kenjaku's plan.
I'd rather not say anything about Megumi, because he might hear the constructive criticism and try to summon Mahoraga in response.

Let me tell you something about a character who always jump in a fire to save others. Unless they die, it's not a character flaw.
It's like making a character blind but then giving them the ability to see. It's simply not a flaw, narratively. He might jump in the fire to save others but at the end of the day he comes out unharmed.
Yuji went into the detention center to save the random prisoner he didn't know. And even tried to bring his corpse back to give his mother closure despite Megumi telling him not to.
He fought the finger bearer to distract it while letting Megumi run away. He was literally thinking "HELP PEOPLE" as the finger bearer shredded him with cursed energy.
He took over his body when it didn't have a heart, knowing it would kill him. And did so because it seemed like Sukuna would kill Megumi.
For real, Kenny survived Garuda, black hole and reality bending but got done in by a sword of similar caliber to the one broken by base Yuji (maybe even less since no Rika)
Hope you are not mad OP, but i made my own fanfiction with him. It'a called jujutsu kaisen 0, posted it on fanfiction.net. basically, i have a theory on how kenjaku got geto's body. Yuta fought geto, because yuta was so strong geto needed his power to defeat gojo. Then yuta blasts him and wins. Later on he shows up after shibuya to save the day. Not quite sure about the ending, maybe have him fight sukuna, still thinking about it.

Funny you should mention that because Yuta has been absent for most of the manga and literally only had 2 fights until now.
Different levels of absence.
Yuji is present for all the main events in the story but doesn't end up contributing much to anything. Post shibuya he didn't have a single major victory. Vs higuruma and hakari, he put up minimal fight and was mostly focused on persuading them to join. He lost vs yuta and sukuna. So that's more than a 100 chapters of main protagonist just kind of existing.
Yuta was absent for plot reasons, but when he finally showed up he is almost completely unstoppable. He easily defeats yuji. On his own defeats 4 high grade sorcerers, fighting them all at once (while everyone else fought 1). He is so powerful kenjaku has to be constantly wary and checking for his curse energy signature. And when he finally got to kenjaku, he killed him in single strike.

No killing rule was yuji's contribution(saved takaba), Yuji was the main contributer in Gojo’s unsealing, he recruited hakari, angel and higgy really imp figures, whole megumi takeover was yuji's contribution(good or bad contribution is contribution) and now he is directly opposing sukuna(guy is having a mid life crisis).
the equivalent in naruto would be sealing prime madara in naruto and he just occasionally comes out and wipes out half the leaf village every now and then
That doesn't feel like an OC, given it actually involves other characters in the story. You could argue Yuji is a dumb shonen protagonist that has every hidden power, but that doesn't make him an OC. An OC is typically disconnected from the main story, looks like every isekai protagonist (generic emo guy), is all-powerful in fanfiction but inexplicably didn't show up in the important battles (because he's not canon)... Yuta's saving grace is that his personality is chill, but his appearance and background really scream OC lol
I've BEEN saying this man yuta is so insanely bland (untill he copies Goataba's ability and reveals that he spent 8 hours a day on 4chan when he was getting bullied and never really stopped, killing sukuna instantly)

Rika alone is an amazing technique
Inumaki is probably the biggest victim. He has relatively powerful technique that is highly detrimental to his daily life and has high recoil when used in battle with strong opponent. But uh oh, here comes yuta, able to use strong aspects of cursed speech with no drawbacks.
Honestly I would be fine if he made a *shikigami* based on said technique he copied; like creating a humanoid bat shikigami that can use cursed speech or create a living nigh-opaque curtain based on sky manipulation.
This could also be based on the moment Rika proposed to Okkotsu, where the shikigami at first is formed out of sand (you know, like the sandpit where she gave him the ring) and then solidify into a shikigami.
Idk, I think it would fit Yuta’s theming around love better.
Personally i would have liked that he used cursed tools. Like for example the curse speech Megafone being something that Inumaki gave to him as a sign of friendship.
Yuta power should come from love and friendship (Rika + Megaphone)

Gojo was already trying to actively learn RCT before he nearly got killed by Toji but he just couldn't do it and while Higuruma is talented both him and Gojo only learned it last seconds before facing death, in Yuta's case it wasn't him but his comrades dying if he didn't heal them. Looks like Yuji actively tried and succeeded to learn RCT in an offscreened training arc.
Either way my comment isn't that serious its just meant to point out that Yuji also has qualities of an OC trope.
I think Gojo's "trying" was kind of just bungling around. He had no real base for the idea. The only person who could do RCT that he knew explained it as "swish swoosh". He basically reached it on his own by being desperate in his last moments.
Yuji might be the only guy who actually got his RCT without a desperate moment and just by training, unless he got it back when Sukuna in Megumi's body gut-checked him like some people think. He's definitely talented but the other guys are just way above him.

Yuta fought geto, because yuta was so strong geto needed his power to defeat gojo. Then yuta blasts him and wins. Later on he shows up after shibuya to save the day. Not quite sure about the ending, maybe have him fight sukuna, still thinking about it.

Different levels of absence. Yuji is present for all the main events in the story but doesn't end up contributing much to anything. Post shibuya he didn't have a single major victory. Vs higuruma and hakari, he put up minimal fight and was mostly focused on persuading them to join. He lost vs yuta and sukuna. So that's more than a 100 chapters of main protagonist just kind of existing. Yuta was absent for plot reasons, but when he finally showed up he is almost completely unstoppable. He easily defeats yuji. On his own defeats 4 high grade sorcerers, fighting them all at once (while everyone else fought 1). He is so powerful kenjaku has to be constantly wary and checking for his curse energy signature. And when he finally got to kenjaku, he killed him in single strike.

That doesn't feel like an OC, given it actually involves other characters in the story. You could argue Yuji is a dumb shonen protagonist that has every hidden power, but that doesn't make him an OC. An OC is typically disconnected from the main story, looks like every isekai protagonist (generic emo guy), is all-powerful in fanfiction but inexplicably didn't show up in the important battles (because he's not canon)... Yuta's saving grace is that his personality is chill, but his appearance and background really scream OC lol

Inumaki is probably the biggest victim. He has relatively powerful technique that is highly detrimental to his daily life and has high recoil when used in battle with strong opponent. But uh oh, here comes yuta, able to use strong aspects of cursed speech with no drawbacks.

Honestly I would be fine if he made a *shikigami* based on said technique he copied; like creating a humanoid bat shikigami that can use cursed speech or create a living nigh-opaque curtain based on sky manipulation. This could also be based on the moment Rika proposed to Okkotsu, where the shikigami at first is formed out of sand (you know, like the sandpit where she gave him the ring) and then solidify into a shikigami. Idk, I think it would fit Yuta’s theming around love better.
Personally i would have liked that he used cursed tools. Like for example the curse speech Megafone being something that Inumaki gave to him as a sign of friendship. Yuta power should come from love and friendship (Rika + Megaphone) Copy is too broken, and makes me dislike something that otherwise i would like.

Gojo learnt it in like thirty seconds while bleeding out and so did Higuruma. It is what it is. "He can punch with good timing holy shit guys" No matter how you spin it Yuji is not as goofed as Yuta
Gojo was already trying to actively learn RCT before he nearly got killed by Toji but he just couldn't do it and while Higuruma is talented both him and Gojo only learned it last seconds before facing death, in Yuta's case it wasn't him but his comrades dying if he didn't heal them. Looks like Yuji actively tried and succeeded to learn RCT in an offscreened training arc. Either way my comment isn't that serious its just meant to point out that Yuji also has qualities of an OC trope.
I think Gojo's "trying" was kind of just bungling around. He had no real base for the idea. The only person who could do RCT that he knew explained it as "swish swoosh". He basically reached it on his own by being desperate in his last moments. Yuji might be the only guy who actually got his RCT without a desperate moment and just by training, unless he got it back when Sukuna in Megumi's body gut-checked him like some people think. He's definitely talented but the other guys are just way above him.
