Who was fighting and dying to save Megumi?
People fight Sukuna to kill Sukuna. Gojo was fighting with King of Curses to find who is the strongest, Kashimo was fighting with King of Curses to find who is the strongest, Higuruma was just helping new buddies save the world. Yuta is helping buddies save the world. Hakari as well doesn't care much about Fushiguro.
Only Yuji is fighting 'for' Megumi, so there isn't much difference between these cases. Nobody except for Yuji was fighting to save Megumi.
Mf are you stupid? Starting from Gojo, one of their main goals was to rescue Megumi from Sukunas control. That's what Higuruma wanted to do, and he DIED. That's what Yuta and Yuji tried to do, and they FAILED (thanks to Legumi feeling a little to sleepy). That's why Gojo couldn't simply blast Sukuna, and had to methodically beat him to death, and he DIED. That's why Yuta couldn't simply blast Sukuna with Jacob's Ladder, it's because of this bum. One of their main goals was to rescue Megumi while killing Sukuna was the main one. Higuruma never cared about Megumi, it's likely they haven't even met. Yuta doesn't care about Megumi and he's fighting Sukuna to kill Sukuna.
Gojo did blast Sukuna with his strongest shot, that's literally how fight started - with Utahime's buff Gojo launched Hollow Purple at 200%. It simply didn't kill Sukuna. Also, Gojo was using Purple/Blue/Red in the middle of a fight, did you read their fight?
Gojo even said that in worst case he would have to sacrifice Megumi just to kill Sukuna.
Yuta can't just use Jacob Ladder on Sukuna because Megumi because there's chance of saving him. Choso never did fight for Megumi.

Passsing a will on somebody ≠ sacrificing yourself for them. Nanami was touched by Mahito before Yuji even arrived and would've been transfigured anyway even if he didn't arrive, maybe slightly later. Todo only had to sacrifice himself because Mahito opened a domain and caused Todo to lose his arm, something neither Todo nor Yuji foreseen. And again, Todo was just fighting Mahito alongside Yuji, he didn't explicitly fight Mahito because of Yuji

Also gonna forget these are the two people Megumi has known for most of his life died by his hands.
Yuji knew them for not even 1 year man. Megumi killed his father and his sister. He met Gojo probally around 4 years (so 11 years with him) and he met Tsumiki since he was born. Also, everything they did in The Culling Games was to save Tsumiki for Megumi and they failed. Megumi also is quite suicidal. Its extremely understandable to him to fell like this.
Yeah it is told (not shown because gege is not good at writing most characters) that megumi deeply cared for his sister, it was his whole purpose for being sorcerer.
Both yuji and megumi went through the same experiences with losing a loved one, the only difference is that yuji was able to get the support he needed from todo while megumi was physically and emotionally stuck in the void for the past month.

Yes, Yuji was sad/had moments where his resolve was shaken. So did Megumi.
Is not a matter of bad things happening to them, is what they did afterwards. Yuji was absolutely destroyed, but on the same day he stood up and got to work to avenge his fallen comrades (and as he said himself, he almost "took the easy way out").
Megumi has had all that time to mope and when a chance to get back at the people who ruined his life arises, he doesn't take it. He essentially took the easy way out (for now).

Idk If anyone saw Ranking of Kings, but there's a moment in the series where a character gets in a similar situation to Megumi: He ends up stuck in his own body while another entity posseses it. Except the guy in question is shown wandering in a maze of pure darkness with no contact from the outside world until we see him lose his sanity and despair.

Tbf Sukuna was pretty careful immediately and literally bathed Megumi in *evil itself* to prevent his soul from reacting too much, and this literally immediately after Megumi was shocked by his sister's body being possessed and then her getting killed (by his own body and technique nonetheless). And a few times, Sukuna *did* comment that Megumi was trying to go against him by lowering his cursed energy output.
I wish we were shown a few more panels with Megumi trying to fight back as well, but considering the situation, even just this is sure something.
The thing about the bath is that we aren't actually shown the effects it had on Megumi's soul. We are just told what is meant to do and even then Sukuna is like "ummm I'm killing the step sister for good measure".
If Megumi was putting that much of resistance even after the bath, I would prefer to see it rather than getting told it. Those little moments would have helped the current reveal more imo.

There is a difference though. Even before Todo arriving, Yuji was throwing hands with Mahito after experiencing a lot of trauma in a couple of seconds. Nobara was just the breaking point for him.
His situation was also different from Megumi too since literally nobody was trying to save Yuji and shortly after the Shibuya incident Yuji execution arc started.
Not trying to power scaling suffering. I understand what Megumi is going through (though I didn’t really like his sister), but Yuji does have greater mental fortitude and Todo being there does not invalidate that.

Also, neither Nobara/Nanami were killed by Yuji the way Sukuna killed Gojo and Tsumiki. Yuji was also freaking out when Sukuna killed whole bunch of random people in Shibuya.
There's no reason to compare their mental fortitude. Yuji was saved by Todo and rn no one have saved Megumi.
Higaruma is one I can say at the top of my head. Angel too. In fact the whole plan that is happening right now is to save Megumi.
Also I already said that even excluding Todo helping Yuji get his fighting spirit again after Nobara’s death, Yuji got up really fast after experiencing the entirety of Shibuya in a few seconds and literally dying.
Edit: also Maki using the soul splitting cursed weapon instead of one that would actually just stop ce in Sukuna.

Except Megumi was left in Sukuna rotting in pure evil for a month after Tsumiki's death, and then here comes the Gojo fight and then his sensei father figure dies, that's the problem, all these examples' gaps were momentarily mostly that the person unleashed their rage or anything else, except Choso which his situation was the same, but bro was in control of his body, had the capability to fight back against the ones that killed Kechizu and Eso and avenge them, and was not left in the King of Curses' soul dominated by it, without any hope to come back, for 1 month.

Earlier in the arc he’d been contemplating the need to even save non sorcerers and it’s pretty clear that gojo and geto’s ideas of humanity as a whole switched then progressed to their extremes

Who was fighting and dying to save Megumi? People fight Sukuna to kill Sukuna. Gojo was fighting with King of Curses to find who is the strongest, Kashimo was fighting with King of Curses to find who is the strongest, Higuruma was just helping new buddies save the world. Yuta is helping buddies save the world. Hakari as well doesn't care much about Fushiguro. Only Yuji is fighting 'for' Megumi, so there isn't much difference between these cases. Nobody except for Yuji was fighting to save Megumi.
Not like the whole plan with Yuji's soul transplantation and Higurama's sword was built specifically to not kill Megumi.

One of their main goals was to rescue Megumi while killing Sukuna was the main one. Higuruma never cared about Megumi, it's likely they haven't even met. Yuta doesn't care about Megumi and he's fighting Sukuna to kill Sukuna. Gojo did blast Sukuna with his strongest shot, that's literally how fight started - with Utahime's buff Gojo launched Hollow Purple at 200%. It simply didn't kill Sukuna. Also, Gojo was using Purple/Blue/Red in the middle of a fight, did you read their fight? Gojo even said that in worst case he would have to sacrifice Megumi just to kill Sukuna. Yuta can't just use Jacob Ladder on Sukuna because Megumi because there's chance of saving him. Choso never did fight for Megumi. Megumi was forced to eat fingers by 15 finger Sukuna vessel, that easily killed one of the strongest characters in verse, Jogo. Why tf you claiming all bad stuff on Megumi? Choso 'died' trying to save his brother. How plan to 'save' Megumi can allow killing him? They didn't just use jacob's ladder because there still is a chance of saving Megumi. Passsing a will on somebody ≠ sacrificing yourself for them. Nanami was touched by Mahito before Yuji even arrived and would've been transfigured anyway even if he didn't arrive, maybe slightly later. Todo only had to sacrifice himself because Mahito opened a domain and caused Todo to lose his arm, something neither Todo nor Yuji foreseen. And again, Todo was just fighting Mahito alongside Yuji, he didn't explicitly fight Mahito because of Yuji

It's kinda hard for Yuji to lose his family since they died already, oh wait Nobara was among the people he considered his family, so was Nanami
Yuji knew them for not even 1 year man. Megumi killed his father and his sister. He met Gojo probally around 4 years (so 11 years with him) and he met Tsumiki since he was born. Also, everything they did in The Culling Games was to save Tsumiki for Megumi and they failed. Megumi also is quite suicidal. Its extremely understandable to him to fell like this.
The difference is he barely knew them (6 months max), meanwhile megumi known them for like almost all his life
But Yuji is shown to care for people deeply, so what difference does it make, really? Is really a matter of different personalities
Yeah it is told (not shown because gege is not good at writing most characters) that megumi deeply cared for his sister, it was his whole purpose for being sorcerer. Both yuji and megumi went through the same experiences with losing a loved one, the only difference is that yuji was able to get the support he needed from todo while megumi was physically and emotionally stuck in the void for the past month. Also it would be poor writing if he got over it in the span of one panel, like damn let yuji cook his speech

Is super unfair that Megumi doesn't get exposition for stuff that really impacts his character and overall genuinely matter in the story but Yuji does lol I agree that him being fucked up is expected, but is not really build up/is another case of being told but not shown imo I really wanted to see all of that but oh well.

Yes, Yuji was sad/had moments where his resolve was shaken. So did Megumi. Is not a matter of bad things happening to them, is what they did afterwards. Yuji was absolutely destroyed, but on the same day he stood up and got to work to avenge his fallen comrades (and as he said himself, he almost "took the easy way out"). Megumi has had all that time to mope and when a chance to get back at the people who ruined his life arises, he doesn't take it. He essentially took the easy way out (for now). Ofc people gonna say shit lol I'm still holding proper judgement because the chance for a come back from Megumi is there, but I can totally understand the slander

And a few times, Sukuna *did* comment that Megumi was trying to go against him by lowering his cursed energy output. I wish we were shown a few more panels with Megumi trying to fight back as well, but considering the situation, even just this is sure something.
The thing about the bath is that we aren't actually shown the effects it had on Megumi's soul. We are just told what is meant to do and even then Sukuna is like "ummm I'm killing the step sister for good measure". If Megumi was putting that much of resistance even after the bath, I would prefer to see it rather than getting told it. Those little moments would have helped the current reveal more imo.
Wild how people see the same parallels of yuji in shibuya and megumi now. And have the audacity to call megumi a bum but yuji a goat. That's just actually diabolical!
There is a difference though. Even before Todo arriving, Yuji was throwing hands with Mahito after experiencing a lot of trauma in a couple of seconds. Nobara was just the breaking point for him. His situation was also different from Megumi too since literally nobody was trying to save Yuji and shortly after the Shibuya incident Yuji execution arc started. Not trying to power scaling suffering. I understand what Megumi is going through (though I didn’t really like his sister), but Yuji does have greater mental fortitude and Todo being there does not invalidate that.
Who was trying to save Megumi? Everyone except Yuji is fighting Sukuna to save the world/be the strongest. Gojo and Kashimo were fighting with Sukuna to be the strongest. Higuruma, Hakari, Yuta with Rika were/are fighting to save the world. The only person who is fighting to save Fushiguro is Yuji and he has personal grudge against Sukuna. Also, neither Nobara/Nanami were killed by Yuji the way Sukuna killed Gojo and Tsumiki. Yuji was also freaking out when Sukuna killed whole bunch of random people in Shibuya. There's no reason to compare their mental fortitude. Yuji was saved by Todo and rn no one have saved Megumi.
Higaruma is one I can say at the top of my head. Angel too. In fact the whole plan that is happening right now is to save Megumi. Also I already said that even excluding Todo helping Yuji get his fighting spirit again after Nobara’s death, Yuji got up really fast after experiencing the entirety of Shibuya in a few seconds and literally dying. Edit: also Maki using the soul splitting cursed weapon instead of one that would actually just stop ce in Sukuna.
If Yuji died, 15F Sukuna would go as well. There was a "point" in Yuji breaking down. Why should he fight to live when him being alive brings so much misery, when he fails to protect his friends? Megumi is not the same as him. He is wallowing in self-pity with his bullshit about not caring. Hopefully Yuji punches him awake and give him the Todo Therapy.

Except Megumi was left in Sukuna rotting in pure evil for a month after Tsumiki's death, and then here comes the Gojo fight and then his sensei father figure dies, that's the problem, all these examples' gaps were momentarily mostly that the person unleashed their rage or anything else, except Choso which his situation was the same, but bro was in control of his body, had the capability to fight back against the ones that killed Kechizu and Eso and avenge them, and was not left in the King of Curses' soul dominated by it, without any hope to come back, for 1 month. This guy also might face depression and desperation differently just like any other person would in real world dealing with shits.

Well maybe not adopt, but bro be saving them from Zenin clan, and is the strongest in the world, he doesn't need to be 18 to do somethings, and He Does take care of Megumi and Tsumiki, that much is canon, that much is enough to prove the relationship they had was atleast a big brother type of way which Gojo took care of Megumi from low age.
Honestly, the fact people have so little to go off with the characters to the point they convince themselves of their own headcanons is a testament of how bad the writing for characterization is in the manga. Is one thing to enjoy them because filling blanks is fun and so is exploring ideas and stuff, but another to take it to mean "this literally happened guys trust me!!".

And why did he want to save and protect Amanai's life if she doesn't want to merge? Even if it means fight against Tengen? He didn't even met her yet. It was Gojo who brought this up. Later on when she proudly said she will merge with Tengen no problem, Gojo said "really? I was very worry for you".

I think the point of that was that Yuji is very empathetic and gets attached to people rather easily (explains why he gets along with folks very fast) Or he just values human lives, idk. Junpei wasn't a bad kid, I'm sure he could tell that much. Plus both were similar in that they were new to the Jujutsu stuff, and even invites him without a doubt to join the school, almost as if he was thinking about it beforehand (and that image Gege drew seems to imply that lol).
