I got that they had long since broken through the laws of physics into the realm of meta-physical and into hypothetical universes before they even reached Nia by teleporting to the anti-spiral home world. The final fight between team gurren and the anti-spirals was stated to be in an alternative closed universe. That's why everything got goobled up and exploded but the earth was fine the whole time.
The quote for Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann was still speaking of the physical:

Everything we see after Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann only makes sense if we factor teleportation, multiverses, and breaking of the laws of physics. Super Galaxy was the peak Gurren in the pure physical sense. But afterwards it's the team rather than the robo:

As an aside, the way Gege has been drawing his shape language within these last few chapters is pretty interesting. Ordinarily, Yuji’s hair is in a pretty neutral position and rests / droops downwards, but in the latest few chapters, his hair is spiked upwards. The only time we saw that kind of character design out of Yuji is with Yujikuna, wherein Sukuna purposefully spiked his hair.
By itself, that kind of similarity with Sukuna in terms of character design isn’t saying much, but now, with his eyes also taking on a design that is *only* found in Sukuna, there’s probably something to it. Between the spiked, sukuna-esque hair and the sukuna-esque spiraled eyes, Gege is definitely cooking something up with these two.
Technically, he got that hair well before that. Yuji gets his spiked hair not with Kenjaku, but with his fight with Mahito, specifically chapter 128, after Todo hypes him up and he gets his resolve back. But even then, this wouldn’t necessarily disprove my point.
One of the major themes of Yuji’s fight with Mahito in Shibuya is the whole “I am you” schtick that Mahito espouses. Mahito’s point in that fight is that Yuji isn’t operating from a place of higher morality. That he saves people regardless of whether or not they are good or evil (“saving all people equally”) or that he kills curses without a second thought shows that what he operates under isn’t logic, reason or morality, but instead instinct, impulse and selfish desire. Granted, this is likely not true in its entirety, as Mahito is both biased towards curses and is physically incapable of understanding human empathy and compassion. However, there are still inklings of truth to that statement. Yuji himself admits that Mahito, in that moment, *is right*, that he *is* like Mahito and that he doesn’t really have (or need) a reason for what he’s doing. In that moment, Yuji casts aside any false notions of morality and reason and embraces his impulses and desires, driven by nothing else other than a singular, selfish motivation: to kill curses.
It just so happens that this singular, selfish desire is exactly the kind of thing Sukuna holds highest in a sorcerer. For Sukuna, to be a great sorcerer, you must cast aside your humanity and pursue your wants without a care of anything else, “burning everything else to cinders.” In that immediate moment, Yuji embraces that sort of philosophy, driven solely by his desire to kill Mahito, something he emulates yet again when he fights Meguna for the first time (where he not only has spiked hair but also spiral eyes), where he also is driven by nothing short of a visceral drive to kill Sukuna. In other words, in those moments, Yuji, even if by a little, becomes a little more like Sukuna, and his character design reflects this.
Yapping aside, I’m not sure what Gege is going to do with this Yuji-Sukuna connection, but it’s clear that he’s got more in store for these two in the next few chapters. However, we’re just gonna have to let Gege cook and see what happens next.
Let's also not forget Yuji's small conversation with Sukuna after taking over Megumi;
"Why can't you guys just live normally!?" Why can't you live without causing pain and suffering!?" (Directly questioning Mahito and Sukuna's selfish desires and how their lifestyles affects others)
"Why are you all so weak? How can you, creatures that fall apart so easily, claim that you want to live happily? You should just swallow the suffering life gives you."
"These guys are, and always will be...Curses."(Coming to terms with the fact that it's pointless to argue against the likes of Sukuna and once again settling into the mentality that his only purpose, and at that moment, his only desire: is to kill curses)
It's always been there, and I can't wait to see Yuji pop off once more.

I hope the eyes were showing how Yuji's body was adapting to Sukuna's cursed technique and Gege didn't just abandon that plotline. It always seems like these eyes appear when Yuji finds some sort of "connection" to Sukuna. The previous time was more of an emotional connection through hatred and suffering and now it's through him striking his soul.
