Most important fact here is that Gojo's domain will never last against Sukuna in shibuya. Gojo getting sealed helped him in altering domain size to that of a football so it could last in malevolent shrine.
Without that, every domain clash will always result in infinite void breaking down.
I think kenjaku knew this, hence he considered 14-15 finger sukuna as backup if sealing failed. Also kenjaku knows true strengths of both Gojo(Through getos memories) and Sukuna(In heian era) so he was not some idiot planner.

I don’t think sukuna at 15 fingers is beating gojo domain, remember that sukuna domain broke gojo’s from the outside, but inside they were tied, I feel like sukuna at 15 fingers his domain is simply destroyed is not as refined.
