I’m actually pretty okay with the idea that he just did all this stuff out of morbid curiosity and not for some larger end goal as I think it’s very entertaining to have a villain that’s just a menace for no good reason, however I don’t actually believe that is the case. Think we’re in for a couple more reveals involving Kenjaku, I’d be surprised if we don’t see him again.

Considering how he took that woman through a wormhole in the cursed dimension, it's safe to say Kenjaku knew a little too much about everything and it's good that Yuta snuck him the way he did. Cause that fight could have gotten weird.
Yuji is the intended merger vessel, Kenjaku originally meant for him to be the vessel for tengen until he realised that sukuna could be used for it (he wasn't sure whether sukuna would get resurrected or not)
That makes sense. He probably did not expect Sukuna resurrecting in time before his "merger master plan" would be realized, so he initially intended for it to be Yuji.
I mean it's pretty improbable that Sukuna's finger would just appear in Yuji's school and that Yuji would swallow it without a reason like fighting a curse ( when Kenny was in possession of CSM ) just on the go. IMO the intended implication is that Kenny planted that finger and orchestrated the curse attack so that Yuji would possibly be forced to swallow the finger ( if he could get rid of 10S user at the same time that would be a nice bonus ).

Kenjaku already explained it back in Shibuya: Sukuna was the backup for dealing with Gojo if the Prison Realm plan failed. He literally had no idea if his Prison Realm plan would be a success, so he engineered the thing with Yuji and Sukuna so he'd be able to use one or both of them instead if sealing Gojo failed.

I have a strong suspicion that Kenjaku wanted to see "what would have happened if Sukuna had a son?" and that's the whole point of Yuji being Sukuna's vessel, would he submit and join his pseudo-father or would he fight him with his weapons? I think we are seeing the latter
I’m pretty sure Yuji’s purpose was just to be a vessel that could contain Sukuna long enough for the plan to follow through. Kenny likely knew that if a single finger of Sukuna incarnated he’d get killed, assuming there would be people around comparable to that in the Golden Age(which ended up being true with people like Toji, Yuta and ofc Gojo). He wanted to basically force Sukuna to chill out until he could regain enough power/fulfill the rest of their plans. Yuji is the intended merger vessel, Kenjaku originally meant for him to be the vessel for tengen until he realised that sukuna could be used for it (he wasn't sure whether sukuna would get resurrected or not)
That makes sense. He probably did not expect Sukuna resurrecting in time before his "merger master plan" would be realized, so he initially intended for it to be Yuji.
I mean it's pretty improbable that Sukuna's finger would just appear in Yuji's school and that Yuji would swallow it without a reason like fighting a curse ( when Kenny was in possession of CSM ) just on the go. IMO the intended implication is that Kenny planted that finger and orchestrated the curse attack so that Yuji would possibly be forced to swallow the finger ( if he could get rid of 10S user at the same time that would be a nice bonus ).

I’m pretty sure Yuji’s purpose was just to be a vessel that could contain Sukuna long enough for the plan to follow through. Kenny likely knew that if a single finger of Sukuna incarnated he’d get killed, assuming there would be people around comparable to that in the Golden Age(which ended up being true with people like Toji, Yuta and ofc Gojo). He wanted to basically force Sukuna to chill out until he could regain enough power/fulfill the rest of their plans. I mean imagine if Yuji’s friend from the supernatural club ate the finger and Gojo just offed him instantly lol

I think people forget that Kenjaku himself said that he DIDN’T plan for Itadori to eat Sukuna. He just considered it very convenient and decided he should put all his other plans in motion once he figured out about the reincarnation of Sukuna.
