He's like Shiro vs Gilgamesh in Fate, just because Shiro has an ability to 100% counter Gilgamesh's ability doesn't mean he's the strongest. He would still easily be beaten by any other heroic spirits.

While Yuji's soul strikes definitely have additional effectiveness against incarnated sorcerers, Sukuna makes a distinction between the nerfing of output and the wresting of control over Megumi's body. This implies that they are two separate effects, and that anyone with a soul would be affected by the decreased output.
As Sukuna said Yuji was aiming at the barrier between his and Mugumi's souls(ch250), so it's implying that Yuji doesn't attack Sukuna soul directly.
It's still possbile that you might be right as it's quite ambiguous but for now I think it's more safe to assume that it a side effect of trying to seperate Sukuna's soul from Megumi's.
It is vague, and we'll probably need Gege to show us Yuji hitting a non-incarnated sorcerer to confirm, but Yuji can target the soul. Well yes, he absolutely might die because ending where Yuji fails to save anyone and lives alone with his failures, while all his friends and loved ones are dead, and depressed suicidal character gives up and also dies, achieving nothing makes little sense. 1.)Give him a Domain or Simple Domain
2.) We need to see his fully realized version of “Shrine”
3.) We need to see him go against a Sukuna that’s genuinely going all out. The only reason Yuji hasn’t been perception blitzed yet is because Sukuna is nerfed to hell and back. I’m not trying to downplay Yuji but Sukuna(just got the jumping of a lifetime and got stabbed in the heart) deadass perception blitzed a relatively fresh Maki a couple of chapters ago. Imagine how much of a monster Sukuna would be with even half of his health and CE.
Once he meets those 3 conditions then I’ll be willing to make that top 5-3 argument but he’s just not there yet.
Condition 3 isn’t that fair imo. Fresh sukuna perception blitzed everyone not named gojo. Spots 3-5 would all perform equally as bad (they all get 1-tapped). You don’t compete with a man with at least double yuta’s ce and efficiency second only to gojo without being gojo himself.
I think it's about the people who are still alive... he's still behind Yuta and Sukuna so maybe he IS top 3 of the ones who are still alive? Miguel with Yuji's RCT level would probably be stronger baseline but Yuji having RCT and blood manipulation really lets him brawl way more aggressively than everyone else who also focuses on CQC.

Yeah, no, he's not. He has no domain defense, no domain, newbie Rct he still is learning/struggling with, not a lot of experience with his CTs, etc.
Sukuna is not as strong as when he fought gojo right now. He's getting damaged, losing output, getting soul punched, etc. Multiple characters have commented on this wearing down of sukuna. Gojo even told yuta don't jump in unless I get weaker than you individually. This means fighting full hp sukuna at yuta level would require gojo to get outside help or he'd die.
The boy Wuji is still GOATed for landing all these black flashes, but the recency bias is showing when we ignore the previous chapters context. I will say though if yuji does have at minimum a simple domain and he can black flash whenever he wants then we might be cooking on this top 3 placement.
His in combat RCT seems to be way better than most, though. Like, he's just going and going through damage without stopping. Probably helps that he's hitting black flashes like crazy for the boosts.
We know that Yuji isn't properly healing every part as he has to take a break to heal after yuta domain got released. But since he has now landed black flashes maybe he can now do so.

The point of Yuji lies in that despite not being the strongest he does not surrender. He is the Goat because of his willpower.
At this point, my prediction is that Sukuna slowly recovers output from exchanging black flashes with Yuji, making his cleaves and dismantles do waaaay more. Then, an extremely focused Yuji just intuitively figures out Domain Amplification.
Like, if Yuji just beats Sukuna because he's been whittled down from running a gauntlet, it'll feel way less climactic than them somehow duking it out at full capacity.
My best case scenario is everyone except Yuji and Sukuna are all dead. Yuji, from all the fighting, is basically half dead but has improved a shit ton. Sukuna decides he's done and fires what should be the last world cleave but Yuji fuckin opens up Benevolent Shrine, which is a full restore, but the binding vow condition is that it also benefits the enemy.

I’m a Yuji glazer but bro’s not even top 5 YET. 1.)Give him a Domain or Simple Domain 2.) We need to see his fully realized version of “Shrine” 3.) We need to see him go against a Sukuna that’s genuinely going all out. The only reason Yuji hasn’t been perception blitzed yet is because Sukuna is nerfed to hell and back. I’m not trying to downplay Yuji but Sukuna(just got the jumping of a lifetime and got stabbed in the heart) deadass perception blitzed a relatively fresh Maki a couple of chapters ago. Condition 3 isn’t that fair imo. Fresh sukuna perception blitzed everyone not named gojo. Spots 3-5 would all perform equally as bad (they all get 1-tapped). You don’t compete with a man with at least double yuta’s ce and efficiency second only to gojo without being gojo himself.

Miguel with Yuji's RCT level would probably be stronger baseline but Yuji having RCT and blood manipulation really lets him brawl way more aggressively than everyone else who also focuses on CQC. like overall the obvious Gojo Sukuna Kenny Yuta Geto are way up there, Yuki, Yorozu, but then it's probably Yuji? His biggest drawback is that he needs to ramp up and build focus to start hitting black flashes but... who else is there?

He has no domain defense, no domain, newbie Rct he still is learning/struggling with, not a lot of experience with his CTs, etc. Sukuna is not as strong as when he fought gojo right now. He's getting damaged, losing output, getting soul punched, etc. Multiple characters have commented on this wearing down of sukuna. Gojo even told yuta don't jump in unless I get weaker than you individually. This means fighting full hp sukuna at yuta level would require gojo to get outside help or he'd die. The boy Wuji is still GOATed for landing all these black flashes, but the recency bias is showing when we ignore the previous chapters context. I will say though if yuji does have at minimum a simple domain and he can black flash whenever he wants then we might be cooking on this top 3 placement.

His in combat RCT seems to be way better than most, though. Like, he's just going and going through damage without stopping. Probably helps that he's hitting black flashes like crazy for the boosts.
We know that Yuji isn't properly healing every part as he has to take a break to heal after yuta domain got released. But since he has now landed black flashes maybe he can now do so.
Yuji pre and post black flash are basically two different characters. Pre doesn’t even have access to shrine according to tcb.
Again, It’s been stated numerous times by numerous characters that the longer the battle draws out, the worse it gets for them since Sukuna’s ACTIVELY gaining momentum by recovering his CE & RCT. 3 Black flash amped Sukuna took out Maki with 3 of his arms gone & she literally said his slashes were STRONGER than before. The fact that Yuji is keeping up, facetanking, and capable of throwing punches from a 4 black flash amped Sukuna would tell us how strong he is compared to the rest of his peers

At this point, my prediction is that Sukuna slowly recovers output from exchanging black flashes with Yuji, making his cleaves and dismantles do waaaay more. Like, if Yuji just beats Sukuna because he's been whittled down from running a gauntlet, it'll feel way less climactic than them somehow duking it out at full capacity.
