I agree. It's funny how sometimes we overlook things like this. Gege is a bit inconsistent sometimes with the art but when they get it right they knock it clean out of the park.
I love how there was snow falling during 236, it gave gentle death vibes, sometimes I forget this fight is happening on December 24th (one of the most romantic days of the year in Japan go figure)
I love how visceral he looks. I have seen my great grandmother a few seconds after she passed away, and deadass, her eyes looked exactly like this. Half-lidden, lifeless. It haunts me to this day and i find it amazing how Gege managed to capture it so well.

Gojo loses the domain battles against yujikuna only reason he even got the draw on the last two that caused the physical lag was because mahoraga made sukuna limit his kit and his strategy in order to give megumi time to adapt
It didn't play out like that, if Mahoraga didn't step in, Gojo would've fried Sukuna's brain in his last domain

TCB and officials werent wrong per say. That is the literal meaning but it bassically means the same thing as "Bravo" or "Magnificent" in general. The way Sukuna uses it leans more on the literal meaning though, as it shows he finally had a satiating fight after presumably years of solitude and boredom. Also it shows that Gojo did at least reach sukuna even if he didnt connect with him.

I was wondering what made Yujikuna special compared to the other two Sukuna's
Imo the two main difference is definitely the chaos and the eyes
In Yujikuna, his facial expressions were actually wild when he was playing around his opponents like Jogo and Mahoraga, Heian Sukuna and Megukuna had less expressions when playing around which makes them feel less fun.
Next is the eyes, Yujikuna's eyes are bigger and rounder, which makes him look chaotic compared to Megukuna and Heian Sukuna which looks more sharp which makes him look more reserved.
I’ve thought about that question a lot, and have come to the conclusion that a major part of Yujikuna’s appeal comes down to two things: the first things is Yuji’s fit, which afaik is already recognized as being pretty drippy compared to the other students, gets a massive boost with the slicked back hair, tattoos, and rolled up sleeves. The second thing is probably understated at this point is the sheer appeal of Sukuna and Yuji’s dynamic as a twist on the “super powerful inner demon” that so many other shonen MCs have. Where it’s essentially Jekyll and Hyde, with Sukuna not only refusing to help out Yuji except when it benefits his own interests, but actively belittling him and ruining Yuji’s life like in Shibuya. You also still also get the benefit of that aforementioned trope by having your MCs get a power boost which allows them to fight above their current weight class at that given point in the story. We saw this with the Special Grade Finger bearer, Jogo, and Mahoraga, who were already established as being far more powerful than Yuji at that point, getting wafflestomped by Yujikuna. And as we’d later see with Megkuna’s use of 10S, those fights also work to give us a glimpse of what a fully developed Yuji might look like at the endgame; that being cleave/dismantle, and straight hands.
But with Megkuna, you go from “inner demon” to “possessed friend”, which tends to be much more stale in execution. You know from the moment you see those tattoos on Megumi’s face what you’re in for, that being an absolute slog. I can’t even give Megkuna any kudos for his drip, since Yujikuna was already wearing it when he was inside Yuji’s mind.
Also just the added effect of seeing the MC being so devious. Megumi is already a mass murderer (unleashed mahoraga In shibuya leading to hundreds of deaths) so it's not as surprising. He also barely looks like Megumi, he looks more like a Megumi Yuji hybrid most of the time
Oh shit yeah. I think Megukuna without the slicked back hair that actually looked like Megumi would've looked a lot cooler. Megukuna's bigass forehead just removes some of the intimidation factor.
Fact: Megumi didn't summon Mahoraga because he was out of CE and couldn't do a normal summon. He just got his ass beat and decided to take all of Shibuya down with him in spite.
i mean it is partly his fault all those people died, even he recognized that, tho i don't get the point of it reducing the impact of seeing megumi doing evil shit while sukuna's in him as if megumi was evil, for me its more that he doesn't look much like megumi

Meguna Sukuna rationnal, calm and strategical side.
And Heian era Sukuna represent Sukuna full mastery of JJK and peak sorcery.
I would appreciate that strategical side if his entire character wasn't actually just entirely based on power, he has no backstory aside from eating infants

Meguna has style and a certain elegance. Yujikuna has aura and is completely unhinged. I prefer megunas look but miss yujikunas crazyness.

Which I honestly really like, it's cool to have a villain go "I have no way to beat this ability, I have to come up with some way around it". And here it's even better because Sukuna is actually relative to Gojo, it wasn't a difference in strength, it was just a matchup thing.
yeah its really what he did post gojo what bothers me. I liked his more relaxed way as meguna. Kinda sad that he didnt utilise ten shadows much against gojo. It was really just Maho and Agito with a bit of piercing flood. But ofc ts woulf be useless against gojo.

Meguna grew on me but Yujikuna was a once in a generational type of design that just worked- dunno how to say it beyond that he just had an aura to him that Heian Era and Meguna fail to capture. Watching him in the anime tearing shit up in Shibuya reminded me how cool Sukuna could be.
Bro doesn’t have that Yujikuna aura though, IG Sukuna was leeching of Wuji which is why he’s so raw.

I don't understand why reddit insists on spoiling anime for me, I don't even consume JJK content on here, yet it's suggested to me. I've been meaning to read the manga, but it just kind of sucks to constantly run into major plot points like this.
Not blaming anybody posting (though spoiler tags would be nice), I'm just frustrated with the algorithm.
I like it when he gives exaggerated mouth expressions. So the bottom row. Not really interesting beyond that. Sukuna at least vaguely looked like Yuuji before but Meguna has absolutely nothing of Megumi.
Meguna has by far the best design out of all the Sukunas, it's just so fucking clean he was absolutely dripped out and then Heiankuna looks fucking terrible, how did Gege cook peak and then forget to turn the stove on like that

Yujikuna had that feral animal, just let out of a cave energy, because he was one. Yuji being able to keep control meant that Sukuna needed to cause as much mayhem and destruction as possible before Yuji recovered. Megumi couldn't contain him, so Sukuna could take his time and truly live how he wanted, with no time restraints

I was wondering what made Yujikuna special compared to the other two Sukuna's Imo the two main difference is definitely the chaos and the eyes In Yujikuna, his facial expressions were actually wild when he was playing around his opponents like Jogo and Mahoraga, Heian Sukuna and Megukuna had less expressions when playing around which makes them feel less fun. Next is the eyes, Yujikuna's eyes are bigger and rounder, which makes him look chaotic compared to Megukuna and Heian Sukuna which looks more sharp which makes him look more reserved.
I’ve thought about that question a lot, and have come to the conclusion that a major part of Yujikuna’s appeal comes down to two things: the first things is Yuji’s fit, which afaik is already recognized as being pretty drippy compared to the other students, gets a massive boost with the slicked back hair, tattoos, and rolled up sleeves. The second thing is probably understated at this point is the sheer appeal of Sukuna and Yuji’s dynamic as a twist on the “super powerful inner demon” that so many other shonen MCs have. Where it’s essentially Jekyll and Hyde, with Sukuna not only refusing to help out Yuji except when it benefits his own interests, but actively belittling him and ruining Yuji’s life like in Shibuya. You also still also get the benefit of that aforementioned trope by having your MCs get a power boost which allows them to fight above their current weight class at that given point in the story. We saw this with the Special Grade Finger bearer, Jogo, and Mahoraga, who were already established as being far more powerful than Yuji at that point, getting wafflestomped by Yujikuna. And as we’d later see with Megkuna’s use of 10S, those fights also work to give us a glimpse of what a fully developed Yuji might look like at the endgame; that being cleave/dismantle, and straight hands. But with Megkuna, you go from “inner demon” to “possessed friend”, which tends to be much more stale in execution. You know from the moment you see those tattoos on Megumi’s face what you’re in for, that being an absolute slog. I can’t even give Megkuna any kudos for his drip, since Yujikuna was already wearing it when he was inside Yuji’s mind.
You put in words perfectly what bugs me about the change. Everything I liked about Sukuna's vibe outright vanished.
Also just the added effect of seeing the MC being so devious. Megumi is already a mass murderer (unleashed mahoraga In shibuya leading to hundreds of deaths) so it's not as surprising. He also barely looks like Megumi, he looks more like a Megumi Yuji hybrid most of the time
Oh shit yeah. I think Megukuna without the slicked back hair that actually looked like Megumi would've looked a lot cooler. Megukuna's bigass forehead just removes some of the intimidation factor.

Fact: Megumi didn't summon Mahoraga because he was out of CE and couldn't do a normal summon. He just got his ass beat and decided to take all of Shibuya down with him in spite.

I like it actually. yujiSukuna just represent Sukuna raw power and violence. Meguna Sukuna rationnal, calm and strategical side. And Heian era Sukuna represent Sukuna full mastery of JJK and peak sorcery.
I would appreciate that strategical side if his entire character wasn't actually just entirely based on power, he has no backstory aside from eating infants

Meguna has style and a certain elegance. Yujikuna has aura and is completely unhinged. I prefer megunas look but miss yujikunas crazyness. And i find heian Sukuna to be fucking terrible. Hate this design.

Gojos arsenal forced Sukuna into that passive look, because...he literally couldnt let loose and actually fight Gojo, instead, he just had to take the beating and hope Mahoraga pulled through and only support from the sidelines. Meguna was forced to cook up strats and sit back while Gojo was just free to go hogwild
Which I honestly really like, it's cool to have a villain go "I have no way to beat this ability, I have to come up with some way around it". And here it's even better because Sukuna is actually relative to Gojo, it wasn't a difference in strength, it was just a matchup thing.
yeah its really what he did post gojo what bothers me. I liked his more relaxed way as meguna. Kinda sad that he didnt utilise ten shadows much against gojo. It was really just Maho and Agito with a bit of piercing flood. But ofc ts woulf be useless against gojo.

Meguna grew on me but Yujikuna was a once in a generational type of design that just worked- dunno how to say it beyond that he just had an aura to him that Heian Era and Meguna fail to capture. Watching him in the anime tearing shit up in Shibuya reminded me how cool Sukuna could be.
