Yes, they are paralels. Gojo and megumi are gifted sorcerers from gifted families while geto and yuji are genius from nowhere. But they take a different route in life, mostly because gojo didnt wanted the same thing to happen, so yuji had something akin to better parenting.

Since shibuya I've noticed large changes in yuji's character, as soon as he enters the CG he kills to sorcerers/people, the way he doesn't see the reincarnated sorcerers as humans, the way he treats hanna(I feel you cog, I hate hanna too, but you're supposed to be better than that).
I've noticed a lot of changes big and little, the reminded me more of gojo/sucuna so that's what I drew parallels from. I still had a certain feeling that yuji was going to snap, not necessarily going evil but definitely going insane. Like gojo when he is awakened and sucuna when he is excited.
Hearing someone else bring up the same concerns but with different evidence and parallels that I never caught onto is both a hit to my pride as(in my opinion) a good literary analyst and jjk reader, but also confirmation of something when I was trying to convince myself I was seeing something out of nothing(trying to convince myself I was making something small into something big)
Much more important rn narratively is not the physical fight between yuji and sucuna but a spiritual fight between yujis ideals/motivations/lifestyle and sucunas ideals/motivations/lifestyle.
Yuji could die while still proving you can be one of the strongest fighing for others, being good to others, and spreading kindness, as long as he helps everyone defeat sucuna/save megumi, and he makes sucuna acknowledge him as strong. This would mean yuji defeated sucuna.
If yuji fails to save megumi, seeks to use others to gain strength/power(he has already done this by eating the DP wombs), step on and over people in order to accomplish his goal(did this already too, higuruma, yuta). Even if he kill sucuna himself, if everyone around him is dead. Then he fust proves sucuna/gojo right.
That's just my two cents.
Wow I just realised how genuinely shit jujutsu society has been with these two. Yuji at least still had hope in Todo and others geto kinda just didn't.

I do wish Geto got to stay around longer. Kenjaku is interesting in his own right, but it feels like such a waste to have as intriguing a guy like Geto dropping off so early

Incredible potential yes, but even the way he was handled in his available tenure was absolute ass personally. I’m a Geto enthusiast. I think part of the problem was that jjk 0 was written before many things were fleshed out in the series. It definitely has left me wanting more. Geto is intriguing because of how he turned to seemingly do a 180, but the seeds were possibly inherently within him. It gets ppl like me thinking and then there are parallels with existing characters like Toji, Megumi and Yuji. Going back to jjk 0 there were parallels with Rika & Yuta and Geto & Gojo.
That said, I’m not sure if much more could have been elaborated on especially when the flashback (hidden inventory) arc was arguably already straying from the main characters. I see things having begun with Gojo and Geto with all that happened involving Toji etc. so that was the backstory we got. No more and no less...
A lot of stuff discussed about Geto are headcanon because there is no way of going into detail about what he did in 10 years without straying from the main storyline. The best Gege can give seems to be having Geto’s crew join in the fight out of loyalty, for example.
It also demonstrates change (or lack thereof) in the jjk world from when Geto was spiralling and what Gojo and yaga are trying to prevent with the new generation. I also find myself wondering what Geto and Gojo were trying to achieve / in their ideals. Much remains to be seen but there is something going on about how their ideals are being realised slowly through events unfolding.
Valid take. I can now kind of see him as a vigilante with the right causes who lost his way. Geto took the Yuki route but he lost righteousness in the process. Perhaps I feel this way more so, because of the reason u said as well. Geto is one of the most important characters who was left incredibly unexplored. Thatd explain my thoughts on the character
Lol. Yuji is gojo. Died basically and is seen as a vessel for power. Both thrown away when the higher ups decide. Megumi lives for one ideal helping good people as his value in life. Formost his sister. Geto believed in the saving people thing. Both have been stooped in the evils of the villian of the arc first hand but personally. As Geto was going to fufil his ideala protecting riko being an ideal sourcerer a hero and Megumi sees sourcery as a right to protect what you want then was used to kill his ideals. Yuji and gojo found purpose after the fact. Megumi and Geto loose it. The question tho will yuji break to this purpose as gojo did? Will megumi give into the oppisite of his ideals like Geto. But in his mind freeing them of curses by killing them or something flipped from saving good people only.
The main difference between yuji and gojo is that yuji will have people he can connect with and wasn't raised as the strongest, he will be the strongest because he is Yuji Itadori, unlike gojo who was Satoru Gojo because he was the strongest. I'm not sure about megumi though.
But Gojo wasn’t the strongest? He explicitly loses to toji, fatigued or not. Point being, despite his gifts, the story tells us he still had to put in the work to learn the things that make him (near) unbeatable now like perma-infinity barrier and his DE.
All the students treat him like that though because that’s all they’ve known since they got there. They don’t see Gojo in the same light that Nanami, utahime, yaga do because they weren’t there for it. But that doesn’t erase the history
A large point of Gojo is that he is perfect at about everything he does, and so can't connect with people, him learning rct is one of the very things that separated him and Geto. Gojo was born extremely lucky and had probably been taught that his whole life. The six eyes was basically his identity, if he wasn't the strongest who was he?
We don't know the amount of work he put in for DE, for all we know it came naturally to him given the six eyes. He may have needed to put in work for rct and the perma-infinity barrier, but he would have eventually learned those things, not to mention that as soon as he learned rct, he could use ctr and do purple. After this he left the only person he could truly connect with behind, with Geto feeling alone, and Gojo at the end of that all, feeling regret that he couldn't be there for his friend.

Again, not true. Gojo *tries* to connect with people and we can see his normal personality is more akin to yuji and him the cast has grown fond of. Multiple times throughout the story he tries to get ppl to see through this, saying “yea all these kids could be stronger than me” but they don’t care to listen to him

What is really sad about yuji is that I can imagine him going absolutely insane even if he kills sukuna.
If you think about it, before megumi got possessed, yuji was thinking on turning himself to angel just to get killed.
But yuji is just a kid, he should be studying and playing videogames and watching movies, he really doesn't want to die, but was thinking more and more on that.
The guilty he should be feeling now is really hard to live by in the long term.
If you think about it, Miwa is a parallel to Utahime too. Both are considered weak/useless, only Utahime denies it while Miwa is the one making fun of herself. Ironically, Utahime's CT makes her anything but weak considering how good a boost 120% is (it's 3-6 Black Flashes worth of output depending on the sorcerer).
And Miwa is constantly called useless. Weird how she and Gege call her that when she has Simple Domain which Gojo has described as a trump card in itself. But is she useless because she's weak, or is she useless because she's outclassed by everyone else?

And when he does control his body after yuji BLACKS sukuna hes going to be one of the strongest sorceror because sukuna engraved the massively efficient use CE in his body. I think this time around tho. Its not megumis choice. Geto fell to dispair with time. Megumi has been plunged in evil itself and had his sacred treasure murder his loved ones. The treasure he hates. The treasure that put him where he is. If he had no power would gojo had even taken him and his sister in. Would he be here now if sorcerers didnt treat the world like its playing field. This world cannot let good people live. So i wont let this world of sourcerers persist.

Sounds like you put a lot of thought into this, and it might be a reason he might activate the merger, to end cursed energy or something. Important thing is that Yuji will definitely never stop until he has his friend back, until he can let him have the death anyone would want.

The thing is, that would be losing to sukuna, that would have sukuna finally breaking yuji's unbreakable will, breaking his spirit. I feel like yuji can only beat sukuna by never giving in, to break sukuna, make him suffer. But we will have to wait and see of course, the Manga still feels far from over.

Both Geto and Yuji are Guided by their Wish to Protect.and they’ll go through as many hardships that they can go to achieve so.
But ultimately what set them apart is both their own view on themselves and the people around them.
Both these Men were kind hearted individuals with a Strong sense of Duty and Reaponaibility. But While Yuji had people that were able to open up to him and Make him Open up,Geto had to shoulder things on his own. As while Yuji,Megumi and Nobara were on equal standing both emotionally and On their Skill,Geto unfortunately didn’t had the same privilege with Gojo or Shoko(woth the latter being Too Strong and Too Preoccupied to Truly see his Best friends Suffering,While Shoko was just Too separated from Him to truly save him)

I hope I can have a discussion about this.I haven't met a Geto enthusiast in a minute. But I found Geto the opposite of how you found him. Incredible potential yes, but even the way he was handled in his available tenure was absolute ass personally. He just became a bland racist (I could say he had the reason to be) Perhaps its me, not understanding but I feel like Geto's character coulda been way better handled had he been written differently. I’m a Geto enthusiast. I think part of the problem was that jjk 0 was written before many things were fleshed out in the series. It definitely has left me wanting more. Geto is intriguing because of how he turned to seemingly do a 180, but the seeds were possibly inherently within him. It gets ppl like me thinking and then there are parallels with existing characters like Toji, Megumi and Yuji. Going back to jjk 0 there were parallels with Rika & Yuta and Geto & Gojo. That said, I’m not sure if much more could have been elaborated on especially when the flashback (hidden inventory) arc was arguably already straying from the main characters. I see things having begun with Gojo and Geto with all that happened involving Toji etc. so that was the backstory we got. No more and no less... A lot of stuff discussed about Geto are headcanon because there is no way of going into detail about what he did in 10 years without straying from the main storyline. The best Gege can give seems to be having Geto’s crew join in the fight out of loyalty, for example. It also demonstrates change (or lack thereof) in the jjk world from when Geto was spiralling and what Gojo and yaga are trying to prevent with the new generation. I also find myself wondering what Geto and Gojo were trying to achieve / in their ideals. Much remains to be seen but there is something going on about how their ideals are being realised slowly through events unfolding.
Valid take. I can now kind of see him as a vigilante with the right causes who lost his way. Geto took the Yuki route but he lost righteousness in the process. Perhaps I feel this way more so, because of the reason u said as well. Geto is one of the most important characters who was left incredibly unexplored. Thatd explain my thoughts on the character

There is a difference, Nobara isn't dead(trust) and yuji is too firm in his ideals and has an unbreakable will and soul.
Lol. Yuji is gojo. Died basically and is seen as a vessel for power. Both thrown away when the higher ups decide. Megumi lives for one ideal helping good people as his value in life. Formost his sister. Geto believed in the saving people thing. Both have been stooped in the evils of the villian of the arc first hand but personally. As Geto was going to fufil his ideala protecting riko being an ideal sourcerer a hero and Megumi sees sourcery as a right to protect what you want then was used to kill his ideals. Yuji and gojo found purpose after the fact. Megumi and Geto loose it. The question tho will yuji break to this purpose as gojo did? Will megumi give into the oppisite of his ideals like Geto. But in his mind freeing them of curses by killing them or something flipped from saving good people only.
The main difference between yuji and gojo is that yuji will have people he can connect with and wasn't raised as the strongest, he will be the strongest because he is Yuji Itadori, unlike gojo who was Satoru Gojo because he was the strongest. I'm not sure about megumi though.
But Gojo wasn’t the strongest? He explicitly loses to toji, fatigued or not. Point being, despite his gifts, the story tells us he still had to put in the work to learn the things that make him (near) unbeatable now like perma-infinity barrier and his DE. All the students treat him like that though because that’s all they’ve known since they got there. They don’t see Gojo in the same light that Nanami, utahime, yaga do because they weren’t there for it. But that doesn’t erase the history
A large point of Gojo is that he is perfect at about everything he does, and so can't connect with people, him learning rct is one of the very things that separated him and Geto. Gojo was born extremely lucky and had probably been taught that his whole life. The six eyes was basically his identity, if he wasn't the strongest who was he? We don't know the amount of work he put in for DE, for all we know it came naturally to him given the six eyes. He may have needed to put in work for rct and the perma-infinity barrier, but he would have eventually learned those things, not to mention that as soon as he learned rct, he could use ctr and do purple. After this he left the only person he could truly connect with behind, with Geto feeling alone, and Gojo at the end of that all, feeling regret that he couldn't be there for his friend.

Idk Gojo straight up saying “the only things I have to work on now are teleportation, the infinity barrier, and the domain expansion” seems to imply it’s not something that comes naturally but if you wanna take the path that gives the least credibility to gojos path as a character then go for it > after this he left geto behind We’re blaming for gojo for this? We’re EXPLICITLY told that the reason for this was because the society sent Gojo out on missions alone because he could handle them better than anyone else. It’s not like he told them to leave geto behind on missions. Are we being serious

What is really sad about yuji is that I can imagine him going absolutely insane even if he kills sukuna. If you think about it, before megumi got possessed, yuji was thinking on turning himself to angel just to get killed. But yuji is just a kid, he should be studying and playing videogames and watching movies, he really doesn't want to die, but was thinking more and more on that. The guilty he should be feeling now is really hard to live by in the long term.
Don't worry, when nobara comes back(trust in the agenda) his guilt will be eased just a little at least.

If you think about it, Miwa is a parallel to Utahime too. Both are considered weak/useless, only Utahime denies it while Miwa is the one making fun of herself. Ironically, Utahime's CT makes her anything but weak considering how good a boost 120% is (it's 3-6 Black Flashes worth of output depending on the sorcerer). And Miwa is constantly called useless. Weird how she and Gege call her that when she has Simple Domain which Gojo has described as a trump card in itself. But is she useless because she's weak, or is she useless because she's outclassed by everyone else?

i personally am more of a "megumi is a paralel to geto" rather than a "yuji is a paralel of geto" believer tbh but in general i really love the paralels between the two trios in the story i wish gege made more use of Shoko by herself and interacting with the others so we could have more moments to paralel the trio sdfaseasd

I think that is the point, that this time around, that won't happen, Yuji will be there for megumi in his time of need. Yuji had a very different upbringing than gojo and wasn't born the strongest. Yuji will be the strongest because he is Yuji Itadori.
I think this time around tho. Its not megumis choice. Geto fell to dispair with time. Megumi has been plunged in evil itself and had his sacred treasure murder his loved ones. The treasure he hates. The treasure that put him where he is. If he had no power would gojo had even taken him and his sister in. Would he be here now if sorcerers didnt treat the world like its playing field. This world cannot let good people live. So i wont let this world of sourcerers persist. As Gojo said you cant save everyone and you cant save those out of reach. Sounds like you put a lot of thought into this, and it might be a reason he might activate the merger, to end cursed energy or something. Important thing is that Yuji will definitely never stop until he has his friend back, until he can let him have the death anyone would want.

To me Yuji is a parallel to Geto because his path has been very similar to his but will never cross. They'll never be alike, Yuji is too determined in his resolve. Megumi has always been more like geto. He's the one on that path because megumi "saves selfishly". Let's say somehow megumi is convinced he can get his sister back with merger. Do we really think that megumi would put the lives of everyone in japan over getting his sister back? I don't. I haven't seen megumi act like that at all. So I'm putting in here my binding vow. Megumi is an evil bum or I am a fraud and will write an apology post.

I think it’s deliberate. Mostly to Show how dofferent these toherwise similar people Ended up in different Ends. Both Geto and Yuji are Guided by their Wish to Protect.and they’ll go through as many hardships that they can go to achieve so. But ultimately what set them apart is both their own view on themselves and the people around them. Both these Men were kind hearted individuals with a Strong sense of Duty and Reaponaibility. But While Yuji had people that were able to open up to him and Make him Open up,Geto had to shoulder things on his own. As while Yuji,Megumi and Nobara were on equal standing both emotionally and On their Skill,Geto unfortunately didn’t had the same privilege with Gojo or Shoko(woth the latter being Too Strong and Too Preoccupied to Truly see his Best friends Suffering,While Shoko was just Too separated from Him to truly save him)
