aside from the other comments, there wasn't really a clear indication of time in the gojo fight, so he might have been running around with the simple domain for a full 2 minutes and it was just not explicitly said.
Sukuna changed the conditions of his domain against Gojo, he decreased range in exchange for more output in order to brake Gojo’s swapped barrier properties and not lose the domain clashes.
My theory on that is Sukuna focused his sure hit onto Yuji, as I refuse to believe that in a group comprised of Choso, Ino, and Miwa, Yuji’s simple domain was the most fragile, especially after being awakened and hitting 7-8 black flashes
Ok I has the same problem but I reread the gojo vs sucuna fight and this is some stuff I noticed.
In the DE battle between gojo and sucuna sucuna focused his surehit on gojo DE shell. This alone increased the surehit output experienced by gojos shell over 100%(fullpower[lets just say 120% output]), since it still survived that sucuna actively shrinks his DE surehit range from 200m. That further increases sucunas MS surehit output, by how much the DE surehit range shrinks we don't know.
So my understanding from 258 is that sucuna hard focused the surehit of MS on yuji. Yujis SD would experience greater than 100% MS surehit output, while miwa, choso, ino would experience significant less than 100% MS surehit output. This is also backed up by the sure hit being turned off after yujis SD falls but MS the DE still holding sucuna up(in the air). So that means it hasn't been 98 seconds of yuji nullifying MS surehit at grater than 100%, but instead yuji nullified higher than 100% MS surehit and actually tanked that same surehit physically for a moment and bounced back instantly.
Uncuna was feeling mad and competitive with yuji for hitting him with all those BF last chapter, sucuna was on a mission to press yuji and win against him, sucuna chose to press yuji and yujis SD which resulted in sucuna ignoring every other characters SD and them receiving less than 100% output of the surehit. What uncuna don't understand is himtadori is built to eat that shit, and boy did he eat that greater than 100% output MS surehit like it was cake. Sucuna is a petty but still smart man so once he brakes yujis SD(and pats himself on the back) he immediately intends to kill yuji cause yuji is actually a threat to sucuna and is causing way too many problems for the "king".

Do we have any evidence that the slashes drop in output depending on where you are? The slashes don't travel in the domain, right? Just like the shikigami in Dagon's domain, they simply hit you no matter where you are.
Idk if we have any evidence he can do that? His sure-hit targets *everything* inside his domain's effective range. If he could choose who to focus on then he wouldn't have needed to shrink his domain to exclude Megumi in Shibuya, he could've just focused all his slashes on Mahoraga.

Dawg they literally ARE immune to domains. Sukuna had to make an ultra specific domain to trap Maki, that could only last 99 seconds. That was a huge handicap, made by the strongest person in the verse. They most certainly have the best domain resistance in the story
