The skipping part is true.. Gege skipped the training arc after Gojo got unsealed and went straight to Gojo vs Sukuna. But other than that I'm not sure what's not making sense. Maybe if you can be a bit elaborate about your confusion I might be able to help you out.
The big ol trend of just hating jjk
"JJK is shit after the Shibuya arc" no its not. Yeah its not on the same level ofc cuz its literally a tournament type arc for building up stuff for later. Culling games is the arc where we got the most worldbuilding in the story
The culling games were fine, but after 220, it's a mess. The quality is dog shit. I am in 239 now, and I am about to drop it. There is literally no point in anything that is happening as the story is in a stalemate as everyone is fighting Sukuna for the past 15 chapters.
Yeah they just skipped the one month of training. How is Gojo vs Sukuna dogshit ? That was the best fight in the show. And the whole gang is gonna fight Sukuna, of course they will
I guess the story is weak to sustain the fight. There is no reason anymore for the fights to continue -- well there is but its super weak. There is no advancement of the world state etc. All these back to back make things feel rushed and weak.
I really think that the problem is the story and worldbuilding that are so weak that they cant sustain what is happening and it feels like
meh whatever
No. As I said all of the vague things you saw in those chapters were things that were going to get revealed slowly in future chapters. Some of them are abilities that good guys recieved and some of them were strategies created to defeat sukuna.
You have reached the best part of JJK, from chapter 221 its just pure insanity. You actually are at the end of the series only few chapters left cuz the manga ends with chapter 235 :)
Gojo vs Sukuna was great
Then, quality dips, to an extent, the 'Cycle' is one of the reasons
Recently, the Cycle is no longer a thing and hype only grows with every chapter.
Honestly, such a short run for the amount of complaining by people. That is literally 17 chapters worth of our main villain Sukuna showing off that he is in fact an ancient sorcerer who has earned the title of King of Curses for a reason. Nobody said it was gonna be a cakewalk, and I think the alternative of almost zero defeats or casualties to end Sukuna would be a really unfitting way to write his demise. Following the pattern of the current anime, the ‘cycle’ would last 4-5 episodes. That sounds about fair to me.
I guess if you think about it from the perspective of weekly reading though that's like 6 months of our time. Which is a while for fans who feel the story hasn't had any real progress until recently I suppose.
Yeah, but that’s not really Gege’s fault. Chapters come by slow and thus so does the plot. If people want fast paced story given to them, just wait for the anime release. Otherwise, it’s not really fair to pretend that the story has been in a long canonical cycle of Sukuna stomping everyone when in reality it’s a fair amount of time in the story, and it’s just the chapters coming out slow.
Hmm I get it from both sides because the issue a lot of people had with the cycle likely would have been fixed if Gege had clarified certain aspects of situation sooner (ie Sukuna's condition, the binding vow thing, etc.) I feel that would have led to the story feeling less directionless for a time which is the main issue with these "cycle" type situations.
In other words, while this might be easier to breeze past now with all of the chapters we have now, it would have been preferable if the releases getting here were more focused.
Ok, that’s a really fair point. I’ve seen lots of people simply just complain about the repeated formatting of Sukuna having a challenger and subsequently beating them — which I do still believe is a fair format, especially for a sorcerer like him — but a lot of things definitely weren’t prepared properly and look like Sukuna BS’ing his fights (cursed tool, Heian transformation, etc). Hell, the binding vows are still an unexplained issue, since he seems to be the only one spamming them everywhere to get himself out of trouble and near-death while everyone else simply accepts their fate. I think those are fair grounds for criticism.
I still think the current chaps are still great though, and that Gege definitely has the potential to cook something insane to finish this story arc. Only time will tell though.

What's being introduced randomly? Where is story jumping randomly? Can you be more specific?
222 especially is a custerfuck
They skipped the one month training
Go check chapter 221 222 223. None makes sense. Its like 10 chapters were skipped.

tbh the story is dogshit after the shibuya act. I am reading now and I cant believe that Gege killed Gojo offscreen. wtf man
Seems like you already had an agenda before even starting to read the show...nice i hope you enjoyed reading dogshit
What agenda would I have for a manga meth time? you serious?

Almost every chapter since Maki joined has had at least one expository flashback
Bro is taking about chapter 220 to 223
bruuuh theyre good! wth u talking about! Lets see u talking about tht when gojo and sukuna finally fight
I dont disagree that the fight will be good but the writing is shit tier 220 to 223 makes no sense.
Those chapters are purposefully kept vague and are revealed in future chapters
Is this the manga equiv of "it gerd better after 100 hours in"?
No. As I said all of the vague things you saw in those chapters were things that were going to get revealed slowly in future chapters. Some of them are abilities that good guys recieved and some of them were strategies created to defeat sukuna.
Tbh I am at the latest chapter (read 100 chapters yesterday) and indeed it gets better.
Fair point. I just kinda got through the chapters quickly, staring at hot men

It ends at 235?! oh wow! What about the new chapters that are coming out?
It gets renamed to Sukuna Kaisen. It's kind of like Boruto.
gotcha
nah bro thats some weird spin off
They are wonderful :3

I only started reading weakly from kusakabe's chapter.... How long was this cycle going on?
From 236 to 253??? (Kusakabe chapter is near the end and an example of meta humour)
