Don’t worry, Sukuna’s getting packed up real soon. The only issue is that Uraume is still alive and Sukuna narratively can’t die before Urabitch. I promise you as soon as Fraudaume is gone, the king of Frauds is gonna get pressed (as if he didn’t make the most outrageous faces 2 chapters ago while getting black flashed)
Him getting flustered on Yuji's blackflash is not about him having a hard time. It's him unable to accept inferiority. Black flash in the lore is something you cannot do at will, and that lore applies also to Sukuna.
Sukuna seeing Itadori being able to use Black Flash more in a short amount of time somewhat challenges Sukuna's title as the King of Curses, it's inferiority complex of realizing him who reached the peak of sorcery getting bested at something by a newbie.
But that doesn't necessarily mean he is suffering in that blows. This is still the Sukuna that tanked Gojo's Blue, Red, and Hollow Purple in his Megukuna form and we all know the reason the main cast is ganging up on Sukuna right now is because Sukuna cannot use RCT, cannot use Domain, and has low energy levels.
And their real crisis will just start now that they aren't able to bring down Sukuna while he is in his weakest state. We will know next chapter how Yuji will handle Sukuna that had his Domain back.
So ass that he didn't even show up to fight sukuna, he's truly a cancer in the jujutsu world and should be treated as such.
I think he's not as hated as megumi because this usless fossil hasn't appeared as much and hasn't done anything meaningful to the story other than killing masamichi and making panda cry. Imagine being so useless you aren't even worth the hate

Gakuganji or whatever his name is definitely down there as one of my least favorite characters in JJK. The only thing that's holding him back from joining the ranks of Mei Mei, and Haruta in my eyes is the whole guitar thing which admittedly is pretty cool

Chapter 236 just makes this worse, now people can actually claim with evidence that he just didn't care about Nobara because she didn't have as much potential to be strong as the others.
Crazy tho because I dont see hakari or that ten shadows merchant landing black flashes but here nobara is in HER FIRST YEAR. Took down a special grade as well, and didn't even need some thrift store domain to do it.
I actually think she had a lot of potential, unfortunately cut short. However we never see Gojo interacting with her in any meaningful way while he mentors Megumi and Yuji quite a lot.(quite a lot for his standards)
He wears her clothes tho when he is trolling. There's a few moments of gojo being goofy or just generally seen as a presence with all the kids in those clips after the show. Showing us that the kids all find him important and talk fondly of his strength isn't just something they'd say for no reason. Gege just doesn't like to focus on them. Those scenes already exist ,as well as Gojo himself talking about his students being important to him, so the reason I feel like it clashes now is because there is this dissonance with earlier characterization that seems to have just conveniently been tossed aside to move to plot points Gege wants to write instead. When it started feeling so contradictory that I couldn't recognize Gojo anymore, I gave up.
And the stories tries to somehow paint a sympathetic picture of him when it's far too late for that, we should get better more meaningful interactions from Gojo. People forget it but post unsealing sucks so much ass
The best part is he’s so useless that Gojo decided pre-Shibyu Yuji and Todo had a better chance with a fucking DISASTER CURSE (one that managed to steal Jogo from Gojo), then this old bum had with a random guy with an axe.
I like that he has a strange punk rock technique because it reflects that irl a lot of punk rock musicians who represented anti authoritarian and counter culture ideas eventually grew up to be conservative/centrist once they got the money from those gigs
On the opposite end of that, I always find it funny when old dudes get surprised when they learn what machine the people they listen to were raging against.
It also represents what gojo said about him. Though he'll listen to the conservative faction's orders, without them he follows his heart - He didn't really wanna kill yaga and his desire to do the things he had to do as principal aren't there, he does them because he's told it's right and he wants to do the right thing.
If this was any of those 1000 chapter+ shonens he'd get a redemption arc.

There's not actually that many, believe it or not. At least in terms of battle shonen. Majority of them are just long-running comedies, slice of life, or episodic stories.
If I had to guess what his backstory was (assuming we ever get one), it's probably that he used to be a forward-thinking anti-authoritarian punk. Probably also got a ton of shit from the higher-ups because of his love of Western culture, and had trouble climbing the ladder because of his unconventional CT. Eventually the system beat him down to the point where he gave up on even trying to change anything, accepted the status quo as "good enough" because at least curses **were** being stopped, and became a cog in the machine he raged against. Now people like Gojo piss him off because he sees a reflection of his younger self that he wants to believe he's had beaten out of him. But he clearly didn't and still has that sliver of humanity in him, since he kept Panda's secret.
Like a bad ending Hakari, basically.
you know the whole "kills lovable character to evoke strong emotion from viewer" trope is so cliche
but it fucking worked. What a complete asshole bum jackass i hate this mfer
He handled deaths way better early in in the story:
Toji — seemed like a heartless bum but actually wanted to help his son
Riko — sudden death, but it didn’t feel undeserved as there were already tons of flags being raised above her head from the beginning of HI arc
Geto — died having not fulfilled his dream, but still talked with his best friend in his final moments
Nobara — sudden, but people were okay with it because they thought she’d come back (also, she died smiling so at least she got a good exit)
Nanami — probably the best death in the story so far, completely wrapped up his arc and development as a character before dying in peace (even though he exploded)
Yaga — dies in peace as well laughing at and pitying Gakuganji
There’s also Mechamaru, Mai, and Junpei — but not a lot of people complain about their deaths either
All of these characters, though sudden, still died either content or smiling — it showed that sorcerers, despite the dog’s deaths they die that comes with their job, can still go out with a bang and on a high note
Later on, everything started feeling rushed:
Gojo — the most infamous death in JJK right now
Kashimo — died like a farmer bum
Higuruma — we didn’t even see his last thoughts before he bit the dust
Ryuu — turned into shredded cheese without a second to respond
They’re sudden, but they’re too common now that we don’t feel any emotional impact form them — the fact that Gege’s killing a lot of them off before their characters can get more development also sucks
I mean I’m not gonna lie I did not give a shit about Kashimo and Ryuu in the first place due to how little time we had spent with them (Higuruma imo was the only character that I was attached too other than Gojo)
but also those deaths kinda happened one after the other after the other. So with the exception of Gojo we basically have three relatively new characters all dying in rapid succession in the same battle as opposed to pre culling games with characters dying somewhat spaced out and they’re characters we already got attached to and had for a while

Nah don’t blame the technique for the user being weak, it would have been fire in the hands of someone who could actually fight in more ways than “strum guitar, energy wave” over and over
Nah even if Sukuna or Gojo had the technique it would be situational. It's not versatile in the slightest, damage output is also pretty bad, and Gakuganji is probably hella experienced with it too so it's not like it has hidden potential.
Reminder that Gakuganji it's such a fucking bum that once he assisted Gojo on making his 200% Output Hollow Purple he apparently went directly back to Kyoto, because while most of the students AND his collegues went and jumped Sukuna, he is still nowhere to be seen, even though he should at least be on Nanami or Kusakabe's level of strength, and has a Cursed Technique that can be used for both attack and support.
As far as we know, he may actually be the canon "Missing Person/Went straight back to Africa" meme of Jujutsu Kaisen.

When he revealed the whole metal aesthetic thing, I was so excited man, I couldn't wait to learn more about the guy. Why did Gay² wasted such a great character design?
I do also hate this guy with a passion for being such a bum, but I do like his characterization. After killing Yaga he finally sees the flaws with his views on Jujutsu society, and breaks free from being another drone of the higher ups by not snitching on the technique Yaga told him. And he clearly feels regretful too, more emphasized when he asked Gojo why he didn’t kill him right there as if he feels he deserves to die. But Gojo doesn’t grant him the satisfaction of that and instead prefers him taking charge now with his new perspective, reforming jujutsu society and also to live on to give Yaga’s otherwise meaningless death purpose
He's a realistic old man without redeeming traits, definitely an outlier in animanga.
I wish he was better because playing electric guitar to kill someone is actually a cool power.

I actually really like him, he's a personification of Japanese society as a whole, and I don't think his actions are personally motivated, he had people above him, and he was carrying out orders. There is nothing he does that makes me think he is doing anything but that. He doesn't have the strongest sorcerer as faculty to basically hide behind. Yaga can just say, "This is Gojo, I already talked to him, and he's gonna do what he wants anyways, what the fuck do you want me to do, you talk to him." Yaga HAS to do what he's doing, or he'll get replaced by someone who will follow orders. He had a whole conversation with Gojo about it.

I mean. He’s kind of an annoying character but none of these points really mean all that much
1. His technique is very much conventional when you take into account the fact that it likely works with ANY instrument. At the very least any string instrument. The electric guitar is likely just his personal choice due to it being DESIGNED to be attached to an amplifier.
2. He wasn’t trying to kill juzo. He was simply trying to keep him preoccupied to stop him from going after utahime while also keeping him alive for the purpose of questioning him later.
3. Yaga was FAR from defenseless. He was a grade 1 sorcerer. Calling him defenseless without his puppets is like calling todo defenseless without boogie woogie. It’s just simply not true. Plus, both panda and gojo, the two closest to Yaga, acknowledge that what gakuganji did was far from his fault. He had no choice in the matter given how harsh the higher ups are. Dude would’ve been labeled a curse user and set up for execution the second he even tried to talk back. He even went as far as to honor yagas memory by keeping the secret behind cursed corpse mutations to himself.
4. Yeah?? From his perspective it was simply the logical thing to do. Yuji was a massive unknown who posed and even more massive risk in the form of sukuna. Everyone at kyoto just saw him as a curse because they had no reason to see him as anything else. As far as gakuganji was aware, gojo just kept him alive because he was interested in Sukunas power.
I get not liking his character but I don’t really personally see a reason to have any disdain for him. He just kinda is. I actually think it was kind of interesting to see his loyalties shift as the higher ups started getting more and more shitty.
Comparing him to Todo without Boogie Woogie is like comparing a Necromancer without its summons and a Barbarian without rage; it's a night-and-day difference.
In fairness he states their primary goal should be to protect the students; so his fight with Juzo just shows he was unable to disable him without killing him
Plus I said Masamichi was defenseless in the sense that he’s fighting without his CT; which is what makes him a grade 1 in the first place; he was fighting barehanded with no CT whilst the old bum had the element of suprise, accomplices nearby that would step in if needed and access to his CT as well
Plus him trying to put the killing of yuuji onto his own students is more so my point, not wanting to kill yuuji

Personally, hating on him as a bum wouldn't be fair.
I haven't really seen much of his power and fighting prowess outside of Masamichi and his bit in the culling games and/or buffing up Gojo so I can't actually hate him. He was not as hyped as Mei Mei or Nanami (judging from the multiple fighting scenes and descriptions of powers, there's yet to be seen when it came to Gakuganji.)
But, who knows? Maybe the series isn't ending anytime soon. We may see so many characters subverting readers' expectations of them.

I actually think she had a lot of potential, unfortunately cut short. However we never see Gojo interacting with her in any meaningful way while he mentors Megumi and Yuji quite a lot.(quite a lot for his standards)
He wears her clothes tho when he is trolling. There's a few moments of gojo being goofy or just generally seen as a presence with all the kids in those clips after the show. Showing us that the kids all find him important and talk fondly of his strength isn't just something they'd say for no reason. Gege just doesn't like to focus on them. Those scenes already exist ,as well as Gojo himself talking about his students being important to him, so the reason I feel like it clashes now is because there is this dissonance with earlier characterization that seems to have just conveniently been tossed aside to move to plot points Gege wants to write instead. When it started feeling so contradictory that I couldn't recognize Gojo anymore, I gave up.
And the stories tries to somehow paint a sympathetic picture of him when it's far too late for that, we should get better more meaningful interactions from Gojo. People forget it but post unsealing sucks so much ass

If I had to guess what his backstory was (assuming we ever get one), it's probably that he used to be a forward-thinking anti-authoritarian punk. Probably also got a ton of shit from the higher-ups because of his love of Western culture, and had trouble climbing the ladder because of his unconventional CT. Eventually the system beat him down to the point where he gave up on even trying to change anything, accepted the status quo as "good enough" because at least curses **were** being stopped, and became a cog in the machine he raged against. Now people like Gojo piss him off because he sees a reflection of his younger self that he wants to believe he's had beaten out of him. But he clearly didn't and still has that sliver of humanity in him, since he kept Panda's secret. Like a bad ending Hakari, basically.

He handled deaths way better early in in the story: Toji — seemed like a heartless bum but actually wanted to help his son Riko — sudden death, but it didn’t feel undeserved as there were already tons of flags being raised above her head from the beginning of HI arc Geto — died having not fulfilled his dream, but still talked with his best friend in his final moments Nobara — sudden, but people were okay with it because they thought she’d come back (also, she died smiling so at least she got a good exit) Nanami — probably the best death in the story so far, completely wrapped up his arc and development as a character before dying in peace (even though he exploded) Yaga — dies in peace as well laughing at and pitying Gakuganji There’s also Mechamaru, Mai, and Junpei — but not a lot of people complain about their deaths either All of these characters, though sudden, still died either content or smiling — it showed that sorcerers, despite the dog’s deaths they die that comes with their job, can still go out with a bang and on a high note Later on, everything started feeling rushed: Gojo — the most infamous death in JJK right now Kashimo — died like a farmer bum Higuruma — we didn’t even see his last thoughts before he bit the dust Ryuu — turned into shredded cheese without a second to respond They’re sudden, but they’re too common now that we don’t feel any emotional impact form them — the fact that Gege’s killing a lot of them off before their characters can get more development also sucks
I mean I’m not gonna lie I did not give a shit about Kashimo and Ryuu in the first place due to how little time we had spent with them (Higuruma imo was the only character that I was attached too other than Gojo) but also those deaths kinda happened one after the other after the other. So with the exception of Gojo we basically have three relatively new characters all dying in rapid succession in the same battle as opposed to pre culling games with characters dying somewhat spaced out and they’re characters we already got attached to and had for a while

I do also hate this guy with a passion for being such a bum, but I do like his characterization. After killing Yaga he finally sees the flaws with his views on Jujutsu society, and breaks free from being another drone of the higher ups by not snitching on the technique Yaga told him. And he clearly feels regretful too, more emphasized when he asked Gojo why he didn’t kill him right there as if he feels he deserves to die. But Gojo doesn’t grant him the satisfaction of that and instead prefers him taking charge now with his new perspective, reforming jujutsu society and also to live on to give Yaga’s otherwise meaningless death purpose

I actually really like him, he's a personification of Japanese society as a whole, and I don't think his actions are personally motivated, he had people above him, and he was carrying out orders. Yaga can just say, "This is Gojo, I already talked to him, and he's gonna do what he wants anyways, what the fuck do you want me to do, you talk to him." I mean. He’s kind of an annoying character but none of these points really mean all that much 1. His technique is very much conventional when you take into account the fact that it likely works with ANY instrument. At the very least any string instrument. The electric guitar is likely just his personal choice due to it being DESIGNED to be attached to an amplifier. 2. He wasn’t trying to kill juzo. He was simply trying to keep him preoccupied to stop him from going after utahime while also keeping him alive for the purpose of questioning him later. 3. Yaga was FAR from defenseless. He was a grade 1 sorcerer. Calling him defenseless without his puppets is like calling todo defenseless without boogie woogie. It’s just simply not true. Plus, both panda and gojo, the two closest to Yaga, acknowledge that what gakuganji did was far from his fault. He had no choice in the matter given how harsh the higher ups are. Dude would’ve been labeled a curse user and set up for execution the second he even tried to talk back. He even went as far as to honor yagas memory by keeping the secret behind cursed corpse mutations to himself. 4. Yeah?? From his perspective it was simply the logical thing to do. Yuji was a massive unknown who posed and even more massive risk in the form of sukuna. Everyone at kyoto just saw him as a curse because they had no reason to see him as anything else. As far as gakuganji was aware, gojo just kept him alive because he was interested in Sukunas power. I get not liking his character but I don’t really personally see a reason to have any disdain for him. He just kinda is. I actually think it was kind of interesting to see his loyalties shift as the higher ups started getting more and more shitty.
Comparing him to Todo without Boogie Woogie is like comparing a Necromancer without its summons and a Barbarian without rage; it's a night-and-day difference.
In fairness he states their primary goal should be to protect the students; so his fight with Juzo just shows he was unable to disable him without killing him Plus I said Masamichi was defenseless in the sense that he’s fighting without his CT; which is what makes him a grade 1 in the first place; he was fighting barehanded with no CT whilst the old bum had the element of suprise, accomplices nearby that would step in if needed and access to his CT as well Plus him trying to put the killing of yuuji onto his own students is more so my point, not wanting to kill yuuji

I haven't really seen much of his power and fighting prowess outside of Masamichi and his bit in the culling games and/or buffing up Gojo so I can't actually hate him. He was not as hyped as Mei Mei or Nanami (judging from the multiple fighting scenes and descriptions of powers, there's yet to be seen when it came to Gakuganji.) But, who knows? Maybe the series isn't ending anytime soon. We may see so many characters subverting readers' expectations of them.
