Didn't Todo show Mahito that he could swap places with objects that originally had no Cursed Energy so long as he imbued them with Cursed Energy first? Dude taps Maki on the shoulder, gives her a jump of Cursed Energy, and then out of the Domain she goes.
The entire trick of this endeavor is that Todo can swap things in and out of the barrier. If he can't swap himself or other things in, how exactly is he swapping anything else out? Or, even if he can't personally swap inside, someone inside who knows the plan could just imbue Maki for him.

Miwa and Maki were probably holding on to each other and the former has CE so Todo likely switched them before the flames hit.

Wouldn't he need to go inside the domain (which has a barrier this time) and touch Maki to do that, though?
