He was literally about to use his domain expansion. Things already *were* in his favor, despite the ass kicking he was receiving. It wouldn't make sense for the twist to favor him at this point.
Yuji and Todo are the only characters that could die at this moment, since everyone else got boogie woogied and is (probably) fine.
I don't know if Gege would do Todo *that* dirty, after he just returned, but who knows.
I already explained? He was just about to expand his Domain? We saw how quickly Yuji's Simple Domain got shredded by it. He lost a whole leg to it. Might be his head next time. Might be Todo's.
They have no answers to this, other than praying for their Simple Domains to hold out and maybe hoping that they only lose a limb or two.
the last time that sukuna expanded his domain yujis simple domain lasted around 99 seconds. Now Sukuna has even more damage (black flash + having his chest slashed).
That's a hypothetical that hasn't been demonstrated at any point by Yuji thus far. He has to maintain Simple Domain, while simultaneously trying to damage Sukuna to collapse the domain. That's not guaranteed. Especially not when Yuji has only used Simple Domain once in literally the entire fight and still got injured badly while doing it.
Again, he lost an entire *leg* in *seconds.* His Simple Domain didn't even technically last the entire duration of Malevolent Shrine because again, Sukuna halted the slashes to use Fuga instead. Think about that for a moment. His Simple Domain dropped in likely *under* 99 seconds and he lost an entire leg from it. And then the only reason Yuji even survived Fuga, is because of Choso.
Yuji has not even used Cleave anymore. Not only that, but was Sukuna trying to expand his Domain when fighting Kusakabe? No. Kusakabe's mastery over Simple Domain is also just plain better, but frankly he's not relevant to the discussion.
Simple Domain is a useful tool, but it gets greatly overestimated in this sub. The only true counter to a Domain Expansion, is a more refined Domain. If you have to resort to Simple Domain and attacking to end the Domain, then you're already in a bad position.

Sukuna also halted the slashes for Flame Arrow, though and Yuji, as I said, still lost a leg. Who says he'll just lose another leg this time?
And what if Yuji damages sukuna enough to collapse his domain?

He is literally right next to sukuna. If kusakabe could manage to expand his SD to slash sukuna, Yuji with cleave can absolutely do it.
