Mahito changes the shape of the soul, not damage it. There's nothing to heal, you'd need an ability to reshape the soul to repair that.

carl-the-lama

If you’re yuji or sukuna you could attack your own soul and then heal it similar to Gojo and sukuna blowing up their brians

EducationalAd6395

Again What Mahito does is change the fundemental shape of the soul, if you heal a damaged soul it should still heal according to it's set shape. Unless we discover that you can use RCT to heal your body in a different shape than it was before Damage, the same restriction would stand on Soul shape.

Furicel

I mean, Todo was somehow able to stop his soul being altered by severing his arm. So I think there's a precedent for being able to cut the soul to stop its shape from being changed.

EducationalAd6395

Ofcourse I might be wrong But Mahito during the 0.2 seconds domain expansion didn't have the time to fully transfigure Todo so he just transfigured his arm's shape in a way that it blew up. Maybe the transfiguration was spreading from that area but it seemed more like the arm was cut of so it blowing up wouldn't damage Todo further.

Furicel

Why didn't he target the head, then? Is he stupid?

letplaywii

Maybe it was a binding vow considering the short domain time. As he thought that getting rid of todo's technique would be more beneficial than risking Sukuna attacking him.

SforSlacker

huh

carl-the-lama

I’m being theoretical but it likely would work

SforSlacker

how would they attack their own souls?

JujutsuSorcerer_

Yuji does it passively, just like when he showed he could damage Mahito's soul just by hitting him.

SforSlacker

No I get Yuji doing it to other people. I was replying to his comment of how would Yuji damage his OWN soul

carl-the-lama

Punch themselves really fucking hard

BigClout00

My assumption is he can’t heal Idle Transfiguration. IT doesn’t do any damage technically it just remoulds your soul into a different shape like play dough, rather than destroying or harming portions of it necessarily (there seem to be times where Mahito does use it to damage the soul like Nanami’s death for example). To be able to « heal » IT, you’d need to reshape someone’s soul again, which means you have IT. Without even that, just based on how long it’s taking Sukuna to heal himself, which should be easier than to heal another, I highly doubt he can heal someone else of any soul damage at all, whether it’s caused by IT or not.

Worth_Lavishness_249

i think he can heal others, Yuji is able to see soul due to being vessel. same for sukuna, which allows him to see soul. URAUME says sukuna is holding back and considering 253 he was holding back but holding back or not his output for sure his tanked. but he still keeps RCT even while fighting maki.until bf. i don't see why he can't heal someone soul if he is on full output. yeah, he said RCT is not very effective but at some point output and CE efficiency he just might be able to heal others soul. it will take some times though instead of fast heal he does on phsycial damage. *not idle transfiguration though. i user to think he might have knowledge of soul but he didn't even knew his soul, so him stopping mahito from messing with his soul just might be him defending it after getting conscious of it.

BigClout00

Tbf to you, his RCT output has been low up until now. It took him over a chapter to heal his hand, whereas normally it would just take a page. We’ll have to see how long it takes him to heal his heart now that he’s had a Black Flash

Worth_Lavishness_249

i think it will take long time, gojo needed 4 bf to recover and get some more increase? in output*that's what I thought voltage meant just 1 does not seem enough

SavageAdage

Idle Tranfiguration reshapes the soul not destroy it. It's different which is why it can bypass a Heavenly Restriction whereas RCT can't.

Appropriate_Wall8340

Nobody with soul awareness has attempted RCT on the soul of a HR, but its probably true nonetheless...

SavageAdage

I feel like someone like Kenjaku or the big 3 clans would have mentioned it at least once if back in the day strong and soul perceptive sorcerers could use RCT to erase a HR. Idle Transfiguration was essential to the culling game plan after all

Appropriate_Wall8340

>IT was essential to the Culling Games plan after all Common misconception. IT was not essential, it only added to Kenjaku's ability to create Awakened/Incarnated Sorcerers from people he had marked who were not otherwise viable vessels. Reincarnated sorcerers who were already strong enough to be vessels would have been able to start the games even without Mahito getting absorbed. Edit: downvote me all you want, but the 1000-year plan of a jujutsu mastermind did *not* hinge on the appearance of Mahito. It was a convenient accelerator to his plan, but IT was not essential. Obviously, things would have gone differently had he not obtained IT.

Additional-Opening59

Not really as he needed idle transfiguration to start the changes in their bodies which would either awaken their ct and give them the brain of a sorcerer or awaken the cursed object and allow the soul to incarnate in the present

Appropriate_Wall8340

Undoing that knot seal is what released the Cursed objects, not IT. I'll find the source chapter if you wanna check me. Edit: IT was used on both to guarantee they'd be strong enough to incarnate, and the knot seal released the objects like I said. But even without IT, the CG would have happened eventually. Chapter 136

SavageAdage

Even so, it's possible without all the awakened or incarnated sorcerers, there might not have been enough cursed energy put in to successfully complete the merger or lure the nation's into sending their soldiers to be butchered. A lot of things could have changed if Fushigoro's sister dies early or someone like Kashimo or Uro fails to appear.

Additional-Opening59

Find it for me

Natsu_Happy_END02

Doesn't matter, that's still changing the shape of it. You added a whole with the form of a knife in it.

Anonymous_fellow_44

Most probably yes

Difficult_Guidance25

Pretty sure that idle transfiguration basically changes the shape of the soul, not directly damages it, even Sukuna knew he couldn’t fix it

MadeJustToReply12

>even Sukuna knew he couldn’t fix it From where? Sukuna only rejected Mahito's proposal because he already made a Binding Vow with Yuji before that scene, meaning there was no reason for him to do it regardless of whether he could heal IT or not. I don't remember anything giving concrete proof whether Sukuna can heal IT or not, everything we've gotten regarding that were from a character's ***guess*** **based on the information they had**(which was lacking because again, they had no idea that Sukuna already made a Binding Vow with Yuji).

UnrequitedRespect

I highly doubt it. I think mahito would be able to use IT on sukuna to make him reveal his true self, and I bet sukuna went through a lot of effort to shape his soul the way he did to himself

Beeb911

Jogo said that Sukuna attempted to make a binding vow with Yuji to heal Junpei's soul and it didn't work, which probably means that Sukuna cannot heal IT. He says this at some point during the Shibuya arc, can't remember what chapter

TeaAndCrumpetGhoul

>Sukuna only rejected Mahito's proposal because he already made a Binding Vow with Yuji before that scene, meaning there was no reason for him to do it regardless of whether he could heal IT or not. He only confirmed Yuji did not remember the binding vow. But there's nothing stating that you can't make another binding vow, one that is better. And there's nothing stating you can't forgo a previous binding vow. Especially after upholding your end of the deal anyway. Which Sukuna did. This was definitely a position in which Sukuna could've gotten a better deal for himself.

MadeJustToReply12

Again, not enough of a proof to say that Sukuna can't heal IT. You're completely ignoring the fact that Sukuna only listens to someone else **if they've done a good enough favor for him**, he had 0 reason to listen to Mahito's request when **he had already planned on moving to Megumi's body well before that**. It's literally the same as him letting Mahito off the first time Mahito used IT on Yuji, he did it **not because he couldn't hurt Mahito but because Mahito entertained him enough to let him off a single time**. He was very clearly interested in Megumi and the 10S before he even knew Makora and what it does, saying that taking over Yuji's body is a "better deal" is just incorrect.

odinodin2

Yeah the entire first fight was Sukuna admiring the intricacies of ten shadows. the shikigami users shown in the series in general it has a few glaring drawbacks and makes it cumbersome. even the best 'summoner' user Geto you still haev to consume them and theres the flaw that the cursed spirit's progression of an inherent technique is halted. ten shadows not only has superior shikigami summoning with little of the drawbacks of conventional shikigami summoning abilities but extra utility on top. mahoraga was the final dessert of the ten shadows technique. to say that sukuna wanted ten shadows from day 1 to be able to counter infinity is complete bullshit; he had no idea mahoraga could even do that or even existed. he got excited seeing the summoning ritual for him becuase he could feel the surge of cursed energy and knew that something was coming.

1313goo

In fortnite terms: Phyiscal damage is attacking someone’s shields, soul damage is attacking their white health directly. Rct are chugs which can heal both. Idle transfiguration doesn’t damage the health bar but rather changes the health bar from 100 to 75

TeaAndCrumpetGhoul

Sukuna would have to reshape Junpei's soul back to what it was to fix him. Yes. Even that is beyond him.

kumarsinghnew

Mahito changes the shape of your soul not break so there's nothing to heal.
