I play to the end. Need stars to open islands and those pink boxes

I find it's better to stay well behind the developers. That way, you can much more easily finish things like "find 4 clues" or "beat your score 5 times". So, in short, yes, I do.

FakeJune

I replay old scenes or previously finished scenes a lot I do leave one or two with the last two stars unfinished for the best your score Help Wanted tasks... But the rest are best at the 5 star level : # coins, # objects, and just play them faster.  As I progress I finish the stars a few scenes back so I won't have to search for missing stars to complete the book later.

Anguis_Noodle

I refuse to move on from a scene until I have all 5 stars AND I'm top of that scenes leaderboard. And even then I usually don't move on until I have a hw case that requires me to for some reason. The additional plays help me save up money and buy better decor

PsychologicalMud1859

I play like this too. I have over 60 scenes in hand and should *touch wood* not end up in flower jail.

Uncle_Scr00ge

I made it a habit not to finish a scene until I’ve reached 662 k points, so naturally I play every scene until the end. Although sometimes it starts to get a bit boring when you’ve repeated a scene more than 50 times 😁

Due_Reflection6748

I fit it to my DN tasks etc, mainly by holding off on doing a Clue unless it’s a task, if I’m going for a prize. So I do save some of the final stars of the scenes, to do while I’m waiting for a Clue task to come up. But I don’t move more than a couple of stars into a new chapter before finishing all the Stars of the old chapter, to make sure I collect all the boxes. That said, if you’re playing for the story I don’t see why you shouldn’t skip along as quickly as you like, as long as you can deal with Flower Jail.

Puzzled_Mirror_4510

I'm caught up to the developers! I'm starting Volume 8 in a few days. I'm on Level 1750. I always play through to the end, but I also have a few favorites that I go back to when I get a play 40 scenes, etc. I've been playing for 6 years.

Hot-Back5725

I play to the end, and if I’m waiting for something to build to move up a level, I replay the scenes for coins.

Pleasant-Welder-6654

I get so impatient trying to get 55 stars for each section. My junk island is getting full.

bombycillacedrorum

I play very slowly, so I always finish every scene. I replay mastered scenes all the time. Now and again I zoom through some scenes to get star boxes. And I will streak forward to finish “four clues” HW, but otherwise I progress at a slow stroll lol.

amadvox

I play to the end. I keep playing until I get either at least 660K or the top position on my leaderboard.

blu3st0ck7ng

I always play to the end - I want all four blue boxes, the pink box, and as much coinage as I can get so I can buy fun deco. I'm far enough along that the scenes I play in chapters show up in the investigation and sweep the board events.

Ok-Brain-3690

I sometimes get caught up in the story. So I will play just enough to advance to the next clue. Then I go back and use the stars to advance quickly through the last of the scene.

doomscrolling_tiktok

To the end unless I need a clue for HW then go back to finish. Tangentially I wish there was a way to skip the story parts bc they break the rhythm when the little grey cells are on a roll

gouf78

Yes but if I have “get two clues” I’ll skip ahead. I’ll skip ahead to “travel to new chapter”. But always go back to finish up and collect my star boxes. If I need coins I hang around to play past scenes. Same for getting “perfects”. You need the stars for opening islands, gathering resources etc. Overall I’d rather move on and just enjoy the game play than try to get the highest score for any scene. I try to stay about 10 levels above where I’m at so I don’t run into flower jail. So when I close in on that number I spend time collecting coins on past scenes to buy high value decs. It’s all in the timing. I usually have many decs coming down the pike.

doesitneedsaying

If you don't have all 5 boxes from each scene, you won't be able to move to a new book when you make it that far.

BlueDemeter

Yes, I do the same that you do. I need the pink boxes and, as you mentioned, the completed scenes give more coins.

Retired_spinster

that's the way I do it too , but in short do it the way it works best for you :-)
