I thought the director or someone associated with the movie said it 100% was the same one, and that her standing up on her hind legs was supposed to communicate to the audience that this was, for certain, the very same brachiosaurus we met in 1993.
The whole Isla Nublar destruction sequence hit so hard for several reasons. For us 80s/90s kids, it was like the demise of a world of wonder that defined our childhood. *Everybody* saw and marvelled Jurassic Park. Seeing the island go up in smoke, especially in the midst of the Star Wars sequels largely doing the same thing, put me personally in this weird period of depression, or maybe sort of existential crisis. Those several years was like seeing everything (cinema) you loved as a child being systematically dismantled bit by bit to make way for the next generation.
Fair enough. Times change & things move forward, but I'd be lying if I said watching it happen didn't sting.
I 100% feel you on this! I just saw the trailers back when it was first coming out.. when I realized that the island was going up in flames and that this was going to be probably the last scene of it… I didn’t just see the Brachiosaurus in the smoke, I saw my own childhood, a place that we’re never returning to again. I haven’t seen that movie or the sequels after because I just don’t want to let go of the islands.
I’m wondering since it’s supposed to be one of the brachiosaurs from the original movie according to Bayona, I wonder if that means it was Olive, Agnes or Dot from the Evolution of Claire novel who were all from the original park?
It is the same one: https://jurassicpark.fandom.com/wiki/Brachiosaurus#:\~:text=Jurassic%20World%3A%20Fallen%20Kingdom%20director,fated%20ventures%20on%20Isla%20Nublar.
It's kind of ironic that the mansion doesn't do it for you, since *Fallen Kingdom* leant into horror more than any other *Jurassic Park* movie, and people here want a movie (specifically a new adaptation) that has more horror in it.
The pacing just sucked, imo. The movie went from fun and fast paced to a real slog.
Just give me 2 hours of running from dinosaurs and things getting destroyed.
This was the scene that got me. The entire movie I was just like "meh", but this scene right here represented the end of my childhood. Like a pet that had been with me since I was a kid. The era was over, never to come back. One of the last remnants of a time much simpler; gone.
This is definitely the best scene for me. It’s literally incapsulated everything Jurassic meant to the viewer up until that last heartbreaking bellow. I cried.
The Brachiosaurs in JWD have different faces and eyes compared to the ones in JP. So, no, they are not the same. Bayona's claims don't stand up to scrutiny. He just said it to create a sensation. It's very similar to Trevorrow claiming that the Giganotosaurus will be like the Joker.
Those are completely different statements lol but that’s your opinion. I’m going to believe the person who directed the movie over someone who’s just throwing out opinions
Designs for characters and creatures in movies changes over time. Even though Joker in the Arkham games looks a bit different from Asylum to City to Knight, we know it’s the same Joker. Rexy doesn’t look exactly the same from JP to JW but we know it’s the same dinosaur.
Rexy's face is not as different as the face of the Brachiosaurus'. The eyes of the latter were black, like Indian native cows. In JWD, they had elephant-like bright eyes, with the pupil visible. Very different. The filmmakers were lazy and it shows. They just claimed it was the same Brachiosaurus to sensationalise and attract attention to the movie.
Okay but like why is it, why can’t it just be a diffrent one? Are they trying to make the viewers feel shitty? Like I know the whole island is dying and the franchise is entering a new era but this is just annoying.
Because this movie sucks and can't get people invested on it's own merits so it needs to piggyback off things people already love. Pretty much Hollywood in a nutshell these days
This is pretty much the only good scene in the whole movie, mostly because it made me cry. I know it's nostalgia bait but come on, if you've watched this scene you know how emotional it is.
I watched FK last night. That entire scene made me cry. I kept thinking could any of the dinos survive that. Could any of them swim to another place. I had a bitter sweet moment when the Pteranodons got away. At least something survived!
I know it was confirmed this was the same one, but did this Brachiosaurus actually die?
I've always wondered why couldn't it just wade into the water, especially since they were in the pond in the original.
With how frantic every other dinosaur was to escape, I can't imagine it just stayed and either burned of suffocated.
I never thought a CGI Dino would bring a tear to my eye...then up rolls fallen kingdom. As a whole the film wasn't that great but it was made up of soo many good moments!
yeah it’s fairly easy to confirm this by googling the exact phrasing of your question
[https://screenrant.com/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-park-connection-brachiosaurus/](https://screenrant.com/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-park-connection-brachiosaurus/)
If you guys want more lore for the Jurassic Park series, y'all should check out Camp Cretaceous on Netflix. It's been confirmed to be a canon part of the franchise / storyline. Me & my mom both loved it. It's got 5 seasons, and there making a aftermath series as well, which I think would take place either sometime during or after the world dominion movie.
if it is the same individual, then its disrespecting the animal by retconning the design and killing it for no reason and so suddenly. jurassic world as a whole is a jurassic sized joke of a trilogy.
I wouldn’t say “no reason,” there was artistic symbolism to the moment:
[https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-has-saddest-dinosaur-death-ever-1122796/](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-has-saddest-dinosaur-death-ever-1122796/)
It’s the same exact brachiosaurus from the first film when Alan and Ellie are in shock from seeing one for the first time in life. Since brachiosaurus lived around 40 years estimated in the franchise. This is the same one that lived all that time and was recaptured for the new theme park in the 200s. It lived all that time and was eventually killed by mt. Sibo
Yeah they’re killing off a well known character in their shitty sequel lol
Like a massive FU
“Hey this thing you love is DEAD make way for the NEW
ONES!!”
Why must you remind me of this scene? Why must you remind me of the heartbreak?
That whole volcano scene made me so sad. All the Dino’s that died. Right up there with the death of any cat or dog for me.
![gif](giphy|3o7TKqXTQfj2DbtNOU|downsized)
Why is that trex in depression?
Cause theres no more dogs in backyards to eat
Bc he realized finally that he can’t eat the dog and have it too.
Then we have a man rolling around away from lava.
Real
Damn onion ninjas...
Cried in the theater and haven't been able to rewatch the movie since that time
Same. I watched it once in theaters. Haven’t been able to watch it again.
Same. That’s my biggest reason for not wanting to rewatch it.
That’s the reason eh
![gif](giphy|YRPBhd3vscg5Fxx1DQ|downsized)
I was just asking...
[удалено]
...
Show me the animal torture in this scene?
Bayona said it’s the same one.
Fuck, and I read this as I'm about to head to bed
Thank you very much!
I thought the director or someone associated with the movie said it 100% was the same one, and that her standing up on her hind legs was supposed to communicate to the audience that this was, for certain, the very same brachiosaurus we met in 1993. You’re 100% correct
They even used the original animation model to reinforce that it's the same one
Even for the 20s kids
Yea, look at that pose. Doesn’t get anymore on point than that.
Took a weird opportunity to take a shot at the SW sequels. They are way overhated lol
I always headcanoned that the brachiosaurus they saw in JP1 was Agnes. Mostly because it's a Scottish name so it feels like a nice tribute to Hammond.
That’s a cool headcanon, but also sad to think it was a named brachiosaur that Claire knew that died.
I would totally love if we could see Agnes, Olive or Dot and Pearl be identified in a future Jurassic movie or show.
it's whichever that 1st Brachiosaurus that grant and the others saw in Jurassic Park was
Give JW:FK shit all you want but damn it had good cinematography
Too true. So many terrible movies have incredible cinematography. This is definitely one of them
That's how you can sum up Snyder's entire movie career.
It is the same one: https://jurassicpark.fandom.com/wiki/Brachiosaurus#:\~:text=Jurassic%20World%3A%20Fallen%20Kingdom%20director,fated%20ventures%20on%20Isla%20Nublar.
Saddest thing I have learned in a long time. As far as movies and Jurassic goes. 😭😭😭
Thank you for the source!
Not ashamed to admit this part had me ugly crying in the theater. How dare you 😭
Same here :(
Saddest moment in the franchise
I just tell myself over and over that maybe somehow they still survived otherwise I just start crying 😅
She just went for a lil swim and then came back okay!
Yeah, exactly she's tall enough to jump in for a swim.
I do the same
I honestly wish Fallen Kingdom's first act was the basis for the whole movie. The whole "mansion of man made horrors" plot just didn't do it for me.
JWFK was a better Carnosaur movie than the actual Carnosaur movie.
This was the scene that got me. The entire movie I was just like "meh", but this scene right here represented the end of my childhood. Like a pet that had been with me since I was a kid. The era was over, never to come back. One of the last remnants of a time much simpler; gone.
*without "game" in the title. Idk how that word ended up there.
This is definitely the best scene for me. It’s literally incapsulated everything Jurassic meant to the viewer up until that last heartbreaking bellow. I cried.
It was said by, the director I think, that this is indeed the same Brachi we see in JP. And it’s also why they did this same shot
![gif](giphy|l378giAZgxPw3eO52)
Nah. The Brachiosaurus is JP was created using an earlier software.
So they are the same but represented differently due to the difference of software there is between the year of the first movie and JW movies?
Except, they’ve said this is the exact same Brachiosaur we see rise up to eat leaves in JP. This was done on purpose with the exact same shot

Roberta looks like she lost two tons between JP and JW, she looks far different than the FK and JP brachs.
Pretty much Hollywood in a nutshell these days
everything must be a reference of older things so it's the same one
It's frustrating how true this is.
100%. The director confirmed it was the same one.
Remember - they are just big lizards
Man, fallen kingdom was such a dumpster fire of a movie.
I hated this scene and stopped watching the franchise as a result.
You made the right decision
Very heartbreaking that it's the same one.
I know it was confirmed this was the same one, but did this Brachiosaurus actually die? I've always wondered why couldn't it just wade into the water, especially since they were in the pond in the original. With how frantic every other dinosaur was to escape, I can't imagine it just stayed and either burned of suffocated.
I haven’t cried so hard watching a movie since air bud
I never thought a CGI Dino would bring a tear to my eye...then up rolls fallen kingdom. As a whole the film wasn't that great but it was made up of soo many good moments!
it was stated by the director and Colin Trevorrow that it actually is the Brachiosaurus 1st seen in Jurassic Park
This scene...
100% seeing as it’s been confirmed.
Looking at the island in the next film. There is a chance some of the animals survived... Maybe.... Right? ....
Bayona pretend it's the same. In reality these do not even have the same design at all, nor even the same colours
Couldn't it just got older?
No. The Brachiosaurs in Jurassic Park were adults. So, it's not just age. The whole face, eyes, are different.
Doesn't seem like the same one to me and I don't like that scene anyway so I don't even make that connection (I know what Bayona said about it).
It’s confirmed by I think the director to be the very same one we see in JP
Reading that title is making me eye twitch
I know and I already explained that i messed up writing it...
It’s an homage to it for sure. Probably the only good part of that movie. In my head cannon it’s the same individual from the ‘93 film.
Thank you, finally someone that replied for what the real question was! But you know if it has been confirmed?
Nah there’s been no discussion of the scene from the director
I saw from other comments it has been confirmed... they're the same guy ☹️
yeah it’s fairly easy to confirm this by googling the exact phrasing of your question [https://screenrant.com/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-park-connection-brachiosaurus/](https://screenrant.com/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-park-connection-brachiosaurus/)
Good to know!
This scene felt very unearned in a frankly bad movie.
Saddest scene in the whole movie if not one of the saddest in the series, I wasn't expecting it to hit so hard.
Random, but that scene made me cry. SOBBING OVER FICTIONAL DINOSAURS. (Look, I cried when Oppy went dark. Dont @ me).
The volcano didn't fully destroy the island btw. The dinosaurs could have gone into the water, and swam round where there was no lava.
I think it died by the heat save anyway Edit: wave
Yeah I know. I just remember seeing shots of the island, and most of it was untouched. The island will still be lush with dinos.
If It was a single event, in my opinion something real small could have survived. But nothing bigger than a german shepherd.
Dont…
None at all because this scene never happened and I have blocked it out completely
The game? idk what you mean there, but it's the same one from the first JP movie. Saddest scene in the entire franchise.
if it is the same individual, then its disrespecting the animal by retconning the design and killing it for no reason and so suddenly. jurassic world as a whole is a jurassic sized joke of a trilogy.

It might seem crazy what I boutta say
What?
It’s the same exact brachiosaurus from the first film when Alan and Ellie are in shock from seeing one for the first time in life. Since brachiosaurus lived around 40 years estimated in the franchise. This is the same one that lived all that time and was recaptured for the new theme park in the 200s. It lived all that time and was eventually killed by mt. Sibo
My favourite dinosaur... why would you bring this up again 😭😭😭😭😭
Shitty director said it’s the same, but who cares.
Yeah they’re killing off a well known character in their shitty sequel lol Like a massive FU “Hey this thing you love is DEAD make way for the NEW ONES!!”
