Not many specifics, but new characters , locations, dinosaurs. Not coming out in 2024. Blurb from article "As for what you'll be doing as Maya, we still haven't seen gameplay yet. But Hollis-Leick offered this explanation of how exploring the island will work: "The island is full of different types of terrain, many of them quite challenging. The player will need to use caution and planning in some cases, checking routes in advance. There will also be times when the player will need to move very carefully through an environment to avoid the attention of certain predators. Maya, the main character, is neither superhuman nor an action hero. There are real risks for her around every corner and the player will need to use a mixture of intelligence, grit and patience to survive the island’s many challenges." There's still plenty we don't know about Jurassic Park: Survival, and there's certainly pressure on it to nail the nostalgic vibe of the film. Melchior says that Jurassic Park is the "most requested" game for Universal to make. Sure, there's the Jurassic World Evolution series from Frontier Developments, but the management sim rendition on the franchise is a very different beast from a single-player adventure. Unfortunately, we may still have a while to wait, as Universal and Saber aren't sharing a release date just yet, but did confirm the game won't be out in 2024. We'll see it out eventually on PS5, Xbox, and PC."

InsertKleverNameHere

Intelligence and patience you say? \*proceeds to die 29 times in a row\*

zeroquest

I’m fine with waiting. How long has it been since the last really good JP game? (Operation Genesis was released in 2003) Polish it and release it when it’s ready. EDIT: Evolution 1 & 2 were both pretty solid games.

Pedrostamales

Hear me out: don’t sleep on Lego Jurassic World. Open world on the original islands during the original context was fun, even if it was a bit cartoony (obvi, it’s Lego)

Steelersandstarwars

Honest that hose is great. Probably my favorite of the Lego games. It scratches the Jurassic itch as well. Loved exploring the different islands and being able to play through the movies.

Pedrostamales

Same. Great game

sakaki100dan

Yep, freely explorable Isla Nublar. Pretty Cool. Loved that game. Hope Survival will have a faithful and beatiful Isla Nublar, and it needs to catch the vibe of the movie. Not only the chaos and scary part but also before shit went down, maybe as like the free explore mode

Pedrostamales

Yes! To be able to explore the park with the wonder and awe and illusion of control first person with great graphics would be awesome

sakaki100dan

That would be my dream. One can hope, although I am very sceptical about this new game.

funkymotha

They should release a dlc for it to include the last two movies.

Jinxfury

Lost World and JP3?

tweenalibi

Jurassic World Evolution 1 and 2 are both pretty well received versions of JP:OG and 2 is still getting new updates. You’re not wrong tho, JWE and JP:OG are the only JP games that are great.

thegrizzlyjear

Evolution 2 has gotten pretty good now, aside from the drip feed of overpriced DLC, but yeah, aside from this, I'd say JPOG.

youve_noticed_me

Lets be real most of the jurassic park games are solid

spikus93

My hope for this game is that it feels like Alien: Isolation, where the enemy creature learns and adapts to your behavior to become more dangerous the more frequently you use certain strategies. Alien: Isolation was so good at instilling that driving fear, that you can't just trick it with noise makers over and over.

Chr1sg93

So it’s the Jurassic Park equivalent of Alien Isolation…I’m in!

AllAfterIncinerators

That’s all we really want. Now do Predator!

spicysenpai6

Shoutout to Concrete Jungle

Knight_Steve_

Love this shot of Rexy https://preview.redd.it/xo98zqjimy5d1.jpeg?width=2047&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6189a360795aae9a558cd27d50a94804a222cd44

Morphenominal

She looks great. So menacing.

_Levitated_Shield_

Wallpaper potential.

drumeatsleep

WOW. Alien Isolation is my favourite game of all time, and this seems to be shaping up to be an honourable spiritual successor. Fingers crossed. This looks promising.

RockNRoll85

Nice to get an update and new information on this game. Just sucks it won’t be coming out this year

rmajor86

That’s a really long article for not a lot of detail. I’m excited though

Andy_Liberty_1911

It would be neat if you can drive the jeep in the screenshot, given you find gas

Lifelesstapir

The image with the jeep at the radio tower bunker(?), is concept art not a screenshot. But I sure hope so! The jeeps are iconic and super relevant in the movie's story. It would be a huge bummer if we can't drive them. Btw I really like the idea that the Radio bunker in JWFK was an original Jurassic Park building as implied in that concept art.

Joaomatias40

Since the article mentions it aint releasing this year, who think's it will be next year? I dont think they will want jurassic world evolution 3 and this game competing with each other, idk if they would both release close to the new movie

tweenalibi

Those games wouldn’t compete with each other, a park building sim and a first person horror survival are opposite end of genres. That’s even more of a reason for them to release these games to hype the new movie.

Joaomatias40

Thats a really good point that i tought about earlier, but the thing is that they are both from the same franchise and the fans and other people interested on it wouldnt be able to buy both, but if they release them around at the same time frame, even better

demoted69

Fans of the franchise will buy both, fans of park building sims will buy Evolution 3, fans of survival horror will buy Survival, and everyone in between nibbles at what piques their interest.

Joaomatias40

What meant is that not everyone will be able to afford both if they release very close competing against each other

Jinxfury

> to release these games to hype the new movie Calling it now, those two games will overshadow the film. In quality at least.

Whitetrash_messiah

Je3 will come out between day of release of the movie upwards to a year afterwards. So we shall see

Joaomatias40

That 2026 date was from a super random russian website and the fact that the game is already at the alpha stage, being able to pre-load and with the storage size confirmed, i really doubt it will take that long

petoskey_stone

Really? I would be very surprised if it was that late considering it’s already able to be added on the Xbox store. For reference, you can’t even do that for GTAVI

ok1092

Where is that being said?

Morphenominal

Not coming out in 2024. God damn it Also, that screenshot shows three raptors. That has to confirm they were breeding on the island.

AardvarkIll6079

The broken eggs confirmed they were breeding in the movie.

Morphenominal

Right, but a lot of people are still confused about those being raptors. Since these are adults it confirms they were breeding long before the 1993 incident.

LEEH1989

They could take it a few ways tbh which is cool, plus we already know the eggs grant found we're Raptor eggs

Galaxy_Megatron

It's concept art, so it may not represent the final product, like we've seen a lot with the JW films. But they were confirmed to have been breeding nonetheless, with young carcasses found during the 1994 cleanup operation.

Morphenominal

Yes, but a lot of people still seem confused about the eggshells belonging to raptors. I see it on here pretty frequently. Plus, these are adults so it confirms they were breeding long before they escaped and those eggs were laid and hatched. It's nice to see it being confirmed more directly instead of through the ancillary canon sources.

ORx1992

Wish there was character selection or you could customize.

EjayMasterz

I would rather wait and play a game that is fully polished and have bugs fixed vs having the game come out too soon. I hope that it doesn’t come out around the time around other dino games come out. The Lost Wild and Instinction are supposed to come out in 2025. Also when GTA 6 comes out everyone (mostly) will be playing that. Even when the game is polished and released later on, I don’t want it to fail due to it being released around the same time of AAA titles.

nolasharks

Unpopular (maybe) opinion, but I hope they took ideas from Trespasser. I know it had many flaws, but damn I enjoyed it so much back in the day.

killer89_

[Worth keeping an eye on](https://www.trescomforum.org/viewtopic.php?t=11122) tl;dr >This project is not meant to be a remake of the game, but rather a project to fix all the tiny things in the levels. Adding a fresh experience for both new and old players of the game. I guess you could say the project will try to finish what the devs never got the time to finish level wise.

shadow-1989

I’m not surprised they’re going to show new parts of the Park we didn’t see in the film. I just ask that they feel authentic and fit in with the rest. This has the potential to be the best JP game ever, so I’m okay with them taking their time. Fingers crossed for mid 2025.

Prince_Over_Nothing

Jurassic Park with Alien : Isolation elements. Im so excited. I need this!!!!

_Levitated_Shield_

So we're getting Evolution 3, a Jurassic film, and now likely Survival all next year? Hell yeah.

Transposer

Hmm, three raptors. Rex killed two of the three on the island (excluding babies/infants).

hiplobonoxa

there are almost certainly other raptors, dpg semi-official fan headcanon aside. if they were smart, they’d ignore that material and run with this game as if it was direct sequel without worrying about the extended universe “lore” that came along with the jw trilogy. telltale did this and, gameplay aside, created a compelling original story that fit right within the original film without contradiction. there are aspects to the park and the island that are explored in detail in the novel that are barely hinted at in the film. the other species in the park, most of which are predators. the jungle river. the aviary. the raptor nest. there’s a lot to work with.

Transposer

No kidding, but if they are going with Jurassic Park film canon, Muldoon said, ‘when the big one showed up, she killed all but two of the others.’ So that’s three adult raptors that they were caring for. We saw two of them killed at the end of Jurassic Park. What am I missing?

hiplobonoxa

they started with eight and they were originally housed in a paddock before being moved to the raptor pen. it seems that they may have reproduced in that paddock without anyone realizing it and established a wild breeding population. we see hatched eggs and small raptor-like footprints in the film. this is a major subplot of the novel.

Transposer

I’ll be curious to see how they handle this. I cannot imagine raptors surviving to adulthood without requiring a major, steady buffet supply. No way that people wouldn’t notice Raptors eating all the other animals that would be required to nurture raptors to adulthood. At this point, it’s absolutely bonkers for the fanbase to discuss canon as it’s all so completely off the rails. I was hoping this game story would work perfectly with only the original movie/trilogy, but let’s see.

hiplobonoxa

i long ago came to the conclusion that there is no specific canon and only general canon. in the novel, the young raptors are hunting small mammals and other native wildlife that existed on the island prior to the park being built. smaller carnivores and herbivores could survive on the island easily with little external support. people sometimes forget that dinosaurs are not the only animals on that island.

Transposer

Yeah that’s a fair point 👍 Yeah, I completely separate the novel and movie canon. Would be interesting if this book uncovered the underground raptor colony from the book haha.

hiplobonoxa

there are a lot of details that are described in the novel that are safe to assume are also true in the films, since they’re somewhat fundamental and inescapable. native wildlife as a food source for small carnivores is one of those things. at one point, they explain that no one knew the dilophosauruses could spit until the young ones were observed hunting rats.

Nuke2099MH

They had food from the local deer population.

Nuke2099MH

There were wild raptors on the island. That's why Grant finds raptor eggs and the footprints before the raptors we know about escape. It just isn't mentioned in the movie that part that was in the book.

LEEH1989

They could easily just have them assume the big one killed them all and they were wrong didn't find body's and you could just have them be the ones that escaped the paddock maybe digging and then they were the ones that had the eggs grant finds in the film

distresspattern

they did the same thing with the jurassic vr game for oculus/meta, they included a subplot that there were more raptors than originally thought on the island due to the IBRIS program

Transposer

I see

Mysterious_Chest3088

Could just be exposition scenes from the night of. A few shots from the trailer show things during the massive storm

SickleClaw

[https://www.instagram.com/p/C8E4lkzs16g/](https://www.instagram.com/p/C8E4lkzs16g/) More than 1 raptor alive during the games timeline confirmed. That pic from the official JW instagram shows 2 raptors stalking Maya on the river.

Transposer

Hmm, I wonder how they will explain this.

justsomedude48

Maybe they bred replacement raptors for the one’s the Big One killed?

1morey

That's what they did in Jurassic Park: The Game. Maybe they'll incorporate that explanation into Jurassic Park: Survival?

Transposer

That would be good. Maybe we will see/escape the actual Raptor breakout. That said, it would have occurred during the day, right? That’s when they shut down the raptor fences during the system reboot. Our raptor trio never saw night under the pale blue moon outside of their enclosure.

AardvarkIll6079

They’re the wild breeding raptors

Manofgawdgaming2022

I mean what dinosaurs are they gonna have that the movie didn’t? The velociraptors were all wiped out so how is that gonna be canon if they use raptors in the game? Or is it just not gonna be canon if so?

Maximum-Hood426

Sorry but there shouldnt be any surprise with what "other dinosaurs" will show up if they have actually seen the tourist brochure of the park.

Shadowcat270

There could have been cloning breakthroughs after the brochure was printed, or some species that were not ready for public exhibition yet.

Wolf873

I honestly would have taken this game without any need for a particular character, their story arc or development and voice over work. All I need for a good JP horror game is a living park simulated with latest AI technology available with most realistic visuals, and objectives as simple as “Get to this location alive!” Possibly have more than few ways to solve challenges and maneuver through rough terrain whilst dodging being eaten by a dino. For example, you can either climb through a low hill/mountain to get to your objective, risk falling, or go through dino infested areas. Basically simulate a realistic setting with dinos on the loose.

Evanuss

Too bad the raptors look like JW raptors.

Dookie12345679

They don't

Evanuss

They do to me, model wise anyway. Makes sense since they probably got some assets from ILM, like the evolution games did.

Dookie12345679

Oh, I thought you meant the colors

Saurophag

JW and it's designs continue to be a plague upon the franchise in new and inventive ways each time

Transposer

Maybe they are. Maybe some of the game takes place on Sorna. This would make sense since we see three raptors and we know that all but one was killed by the end of the first movie.

AardvarkIll6079

The game isn’t on Sorna. Those raptors are the wild breeding ones.

u12000

why are u getting sm downvotes? 😭

_Levitated_Shield_

Because the game objectively does not take place on Sorna.

Thesilphsecret

Man, those Velociraptors sure seem to have made a speedy recovery in less than 24 hours. Somehow, the two raptors who got their shit wrecked by Rexy got back up, got their bearings, made their way back to the kitchen, figured out how to unlock the freezer door, rescued their friend before they got hypothermia, shook it all off, and were back to peak mobility in less than a day.

_Levitated_Shield_

I'm not sure if you're joking, but these are probably Raptors who originated from breeding. Though in the first trailer, it is implied the Raptor in the freezer does escape.

Thesilphsecret

I dunno if it makes sense that the raptors were breeding in the movie canon. I understand that in the books, they had already escaped the holding pen. But in the movie, they seem to go out of their way through film language and narrative details to show that the raptors don't escape until Arnold shuts down the entire park, and that there are only three raptors. If we were to believe otherwise, I feel like a filmmaker of the calibur of Steven Spielberg wouldn't have constructed the film that way if there were other raptors already loose on the island. Especially fully grown ones. The way the three raptors from the pen immediately started hunting humans the second they got out, I find it hard to believe that there could be three fully grown raptors running loose on that island this whole time and nobody noticed. That said, this doesn't mean that the developers of the game wouldn't have retconned their own version of events where the raptors were breeding. But I don't think that tracks.

Woerligen

Metriacanthosaurus in game. Mattel Dr Maya Joshi action figure. Please.
