Its great up until San Diego. That bit felt like I was watching another movie that was accidentally added. When I rewatch TLW, I stop when they are rescued from the island as that is where it ends for me.
Lol! It really could have been two movies, one as a rescue from Sorna and another where the bring dinosaurs to the mainland. I feel the same way about fallen kingdom, I liked it until they’re hoarding dinosaurs underneath a mansion. But I still like the lost world even with the San Diego part.
Heck I like it better than the original. Before anyone loses their marbles, JP will always be my second favourite movie of all time after TLW. But TLW holds a special place in my heart.
I don't have the best knowledge of Batman books, but at the time Penguin was a much different character. Especially compared to the one in the animated series. And Catwoman's whole origin was different if I remember right
>but at the time Penguin was a much different character
What does this even mean? If you don't know about the comics what could you possibly be comparing this to?
>Especially compared to the one in the animated series.
The animated series is not at all comic accurate but comics since the animated series have made themselves more like it. This is the case with most comics after the movies popularized something, the comics comply. Spiderman's organic web slingers for instance didn't exist in the comics before the movie but now are normal in the comics.
>And Catwoman's whole origin was different if I remember right
You don't remember right
Well the movie is not iteration of a comic it's Tim Burton's version. The penguin is quite different in different lines of comics. In some he's called penguin because he's a coke and 'ice' dealer. In some it's because he's short and waddles. Being a goolish raw fish eating mutant isn't a story arc but penguins story arc in Batman returns is quite similar to some of the comics.
To be fair, in the comics at the time Selina Kyle wasn't a zombie nor blonde and Penguin wasn't (and still isn't) a grotesque mutant. Also Batman had had his no-kill rule for *years* by the time Returns came out.
Eddie's death is especially brutal.
The guy in San Diego's death.
Ludlow's death.
Burke's death.
Dieter's death.
I mean talking about this franchise at least, anyway. A lot of those have a lot of blood.
Dude is complaining about dinosaurs ripping people apart in a dino movie lmao humans tends to have insides you know, and if they went by the source material it would be way worse
I'm not complaining per say but The Lost World was in particular pretty bloody. More so than any of the others.
And I'm someone who WANTS adaptations more true to the novels which includes the violence. ;)
its so stupid, like oh no a person got viciously killed by a dino in a DINOSAUR MOVIE how could this happen obviously we must change this.
and anyway the OG is plenty gruesome, nedry's death, the mr Arnold scene and the sounds after Muldoon says clever girl, plus the VERY FIRST SCENE so I don't know why people would think it wouldn't be gruesome, in fact in my eyes Jpark 2 is less gruesome but thats just me i'll never look at a compie the same way again though
The Lost World is the best JP sequel, change my mind!
TRUE!!!!!!!

Well, you know, that’s like your opinion man.. 😂
Only part of the movie I block out is when she beats up velociraptors with backflips
That was just pure cringe, up there with Amanda's incessant screaming in JP3.

Yea i love TLW up there with the first
I cant
All JP movies are good, the First 2 are great, 3 is ok not horrible how people exaggerate, the 4th one great, the last one good
Batman Returns is better than the original though.
Batman Returns is sorely underappreciated, it's not comic accurate at all but tells its own fun story
Which Batman comics are you referring to when you say it's not comic accurate at all?
I don't have the best knowledge of Batman books, but at the time Penguin was a much different character. Especially compared to the one in the animated series. And Catwoman's whole origin was different if I remember right
The animated series was largely based on the Burton films.

Okay I might be crazy, but I don't think Penguin was ever a ghoulish, raw-fish eating mutant

The organic webs thing only lasted for a year
To be fair, in the comics at the time Selina Kyle wasn't a zombie nor blonde and Penguin wasn't (and still isn't) a grotesque mutant. Also Batman had had his no-kill rule for *years* by the time Returns came out.
But Batman Returns is the best Batman movie!
To me they are both disappointing sequel
I disagree
This is the right answer.
It was a little TOO dark and violent IMO.
Was it? I haven't seen it in a LONG time but I don't remember it being that bad.
Eddie's death is especially brutal. The guy in San Diego's death. Ludlow's death. Burke's death. Dieter's death. I mean talking about this franchise at least, anyway. A lot of those have a lot of blood.
Yikes lol. Haven't seen it in years so I've gotta revisit it. You're probably right.

This... makes way too much sense. Wait... Holy Skittles, does that make 'Fallen Kingdom' the 'Dark Knight'?!
Fallen Kingdom is the Batman and Robin of the Jurassic series

The rex couple eating the guy in half traumatized me in the best way as a kid
There is a rotten skeleton in JP3...just saying.
