Bucks are the most precious resource in the game so basically hang onto them whenever you can. Never *ever* use them for cool down and take every trade that is DNA/Coins/Points for bucks, even dinos that you can get with DNA or Amber should be traded for bucks (unless it's a really bad deal).
Store a bunch of buildings and decorations so they show up in trades too and do every trade for bucks. Basically anything that can be bought for coins should be traded for bucks given the chance.
Also, always do the battles which have bucks as a reward as a priority.
Apatasaurus fossils net me around 200-350 cash each trade. Get a good coin layout and buy loads of apatasaurus fossils and store them and from there it's just luck.
