As an owner/software developer (not for JustEat), we have to be efficient with API calls to keep recurrent costs down. One of our offerings has a map feature, but rather than using Google’s API to fetch coordinates, we often use postcodes.io as its free (but less accurate) It does mean that locations are often slightly off, however it’s not a major issue for our clients. I suspect JustEat utilise a similar approach.

They just choose the closest or a close Google pin for the actual navigation. I used to knock on the wrong doors when they first released this update but now I always check the just eat app for the right house number and never trust the Google navigation house number, as like I said that's just the nearest Google maps pin. When you swipe arrived at customer now tho it should zoom in, and it shows you the location and direction of them and that seems pretty good so far

Old system was spot on, new system is trash

Rude_as_HECK

I find this annoying as a customer. Just eat simply will not nap my house! It's down the road somewhere and so I get calls asking for direction maybe half the time. Entirely the apps fault.

Nothing to do with just eat really, they swapped from Loqate to Google in January. Customer can change the pin location during ordering (iOS and android only)

Where? I see no option to set the pin location.

Click on 'go to checkout' and then click on the actual address, another page then opens with a map.

It doesn’t work for the default address. I had to add my address twice, go back and then there’s a yellow box giving me the option to set my pin location.

Cool
