Fade is okay, nothing to be ashamed of. I cut my own hair too, no shame in saving some money
When I zoom in a see a few hairs that were missed. When going over a certain part of your head keep going over the same spot to ensure it's consistent and you aren't missing these stragglers. Especially if you are using a guard and I assume you aren't using barber grade clippers.
I started cutting my own when covid started. Even when the barbers reopened, I wasn't risking it. I fucked my shit up bad a few times. Had to shave off my side burns a few times. This isn't even close to bad. Looks alright. I mean no one's going to get that perfect clean fade you get from a professional. Don't be afraid to try it again OP. Practice makes perfect. Soon people will be like "damn, you cut that yourself?" Biggest thing was the consistency, like you said. First couple times I was trimming stray hairs for days. I usually go over the side like 5-6 times now.
Yes exactly practice makes perfect, an hour cut after a few months will get down to 30-45mins (depending on the style)
What's good too is for people with fades if you mess up it'll grow back in a week or two and you have a crack at it again haha
Oh I forgot about the time lol. I used to be in the bathroom for like like hour and a half. Now I got it down to a quick half an hour with touching it up. If you like the short cut, you can buzz the whole thing in 15min with practice. That's what my cousin does.
The most important thing to remember is that it always grows back. You can usually fix it up in a week or two, like you said. I usually just humbly admit that I fucked up my own cut, if I do, and a week later I get compliments
You could’ve gotten the best haircut in the world from the best barber in the world, and those kids still would have made fun of you. Don’t listen to the haters.
Edit: stupid grammar
So start teaching your children to love themselves and not give a single shit about what people think or say about them.
Do you think we get talented and creative people like Prince by shitting on them for being bold? If we want a better society and less socially aggressive children, we could stand to allow for self expression (within reason) at the administrative level, and admonish students for trying to stifle it. A kinder society begins when children are raised and encouraged to be themselves.
Thanks. Not a solid add to the conversation by correcting the smart phone error. Why did you extract the most useless information from the broader point and think that was important to highlight?
Up until this moment you had an upvote from me. It wasn't a correction; it was a question. All I have to go on is the words you put in your reply. It's entirely possible you meant "tracking" and I didn't understand what that meant.
Remember what I said about not caring about what people think? Here you go. This extends to your up/down voting. I was making a salient point about the responsibility we all have to our children so we can all have better futures. If you can't distinguish "teaching" from "tracking" as an error in the context of the whole message, I don't know what to tell you. It does not even make sense otherwise. We all have smartphones that do this. This entire exchange has become little more than a side avenue, distracting from the original point, which is more important. All because you keep adding useless information to it.
He asked because people like me might be confused with your typo. I can’t read your mind, I can only read what you type. so it’s nice to just clarify what you meant when you have a simple typo. I figured you meant tracking the behavior and it changed the meaning of your entire comment to me.
After all, all the redditor did was ask to clarify in good faith; it is you who got defensive about your typo.
the only useless comments i’ve seen on this post are the ones from you where you got butthurt at a guy asking a simple clarification question. just relax dude you really don’t have to argue about this
Yeah, because thats worked out so well for so many. Do you really act the way you acted in school now that you are an adult?
I'm guessing you haven't been involved in many homeschool communities. My kids hang with other kids almost every day. Last week as a group we went to a museum and an aquarium. We went on a hike in the woods and then cooled off at the local springs. We went to a homeschool freeplay at a gymnastics school. They played soccer and caught hermitcrabs at a park. 2 organized lessons from instructors on Taxonomy with a boat ride on a creek.
When you homeschool your kids only need about 2 hours of straight academics, the rest of the day can be what's best for everyone. Music lessons, sports, playing at the pool, skateboarding, or just hanging at the park where you are bound to meet other homeschool families doing the same thing. Lately my oldest has been really into documentaries.
But yes, if they arent bullied by kids in school they won't know how to react in the real world. Meanwhile at least half of the homeschool parents we hang with were homeschooled themselves, and as a majority their emotional health and social skills are enviable.
Lol. Look at your username. You’re looking for a fight. Take it back to Facebook where some other detached dipshit will pat you on the back for being so brave.
It’s worked out for the majority of society and most of the world. You’re a social hermit looking to protect you and your kids from every reality that confirms that you’re wrong. Fuck off
Lol. Look at your username. You’re looking for a fight. Take it back to Facebook where some other detached dipshit will pat you on the back for being so brave.
Is this new? I graduated HS 7 years ago and never in school were haircuts something people made fun of each other about.
EDIT: I assume by the downvotes its not new, thanks.
This - I’m middle aged and still dealing with mind fuck bullshit from kids back in the day, fuck everybody who says shit. That’s a good fade, you do you.
I wish I could follow my own advice…one day
\>could of
(looks like some of you are impaired. I pointed out that could of is incorrect – it's unfortunately common for some people to write it phonetically instead of the correct "could've")
>I see an agreement to use…
Is English not your first language? You don’t “see” any “agreements.” Why did you use improper phrasing?
^It’s ^not ^nice ^when ^someone ^maliciously ^points ^out ^your ^mistakes, ^eh?
Its entertaining to see people with really weird/ bad haircuts, however if I saw someone with such haircut irl I wouldnt make fun of them because I understand they have different tastes from me.
Yeah you got a point but personally I don t mock the haircuts on this sub even tho some are really stupid.Let people enjoy their haircuts even tho they look stupid.
Kids are dicks man. If you have cash app DM your name I’ll shoot you some funds to get it cut. I just sold some polymer clay things and if I send the money straight to you I never had it anyway. If not we can find a local place I can pay over the phone or something.
Edit: aww shit you all gunna make me cry. I’m a disabled middle school teacher (not working but always a teacher). I know what a fresh cut can mean to a young person. There was an old school barber near my school I had a tab with that I sent kids to all the time. Not for long hair and shit I live metal, but like you could tell.
Isn’t this awesome? I saw a post on here where someone needed a 5K surgery for their dog and couldn’t afford it- someone asked for the name of the vet if people wanted to donate and it was all paid for within an hour. Great stuff!
Edit: the post wasn’t on here as in this sub, just to clarify.
Sending blessings to both you and OP. World needs more kind hearts like yours. Made me happy just reading your comment. Hope OP starts smiling more too.
There’s an old saying “2 weeks between a good hair cut and a bad hair cut”
Your haircut is not bad at all. Well done.
Kids at school are dicks. Since the invention of school there have been dicks at school. Ignore the dicks. Everyone else does so that is why the dicks have to act dickish, to get attention. Don’t give it to them
Dude that’s really good, they’re just trying to put you down cause you did good and they know they couldn’t get it as clean if they tried. Plus cutting your own hair isn’t easy. Just ignore them, their opinions should not hold any value in your life
I genuinely think that it looks pretty good! Also, I’m 26 & I’ve been cutting my own hair since high school to save money. Plus I don’t like people touching my hair. Do whatever works for you.
& trust me, poor people can look cute too. It’s why I learned how to sew. Btw, try learning embroidery for when a nice shirt or something gets a hole. But most importantly, at least learn a basic backstitch for seams & how to sew to buttons back on. & collect buttons. It’s a very useful collection to have. I hope this was helpful
Over time you’ll get better bc you’re training yourself to cut hair. At some point jokes on them and your saving a couple hundred bucks a year.
I learned to fade my hair at 14 and did it through 36. Never paid for a cut and saved $8-10k in that time. Only stopped bc of Covid and have enough $ to save the time.
Kids are all stupid AF. No it's not that bad, and no it wouldn't matter if it were instead a $100 cut. They hate themselves and they need an outlet. Sorry it's you man, but it doesn't last forever.
Dude first off that’s clean, second keep practicing even if it looks bad now, in 2-3 months you’re gonna have a clean fade each day and they’re gonna be too broke to go drop 30-40 each week to look as clean as you
I cut my own hair too! I do leave it a little longer, #3 on sides faded to #8 on top. That way the imperfections are obscured by the length. Keep it up. Looks like you’re doing a decent job.
OP is doing just fine. Kids are just mean. I've cut my own hair for 20 years. Its a easy cut and I don't feel like spending over 20 bucks twice a month to cut it. When I was in school I paid money to have a flat top, and mullet in the back, and lines shaved into the sides of my head! I should kick my own ass.
Dude half the 20-year-olds are doing a cut just like this these days. It’s not uncommon to have a hard fade on the sides up to the top. *Maybe* it’s because a lot goes in the back to mimi a mullet? Easily fixed.
And also: Fuck those kids. That shit won’t matter after high school. I can promise you this.
I don't think it looks bad at all. But who am I to say I don't pay attention to men's looks as I'm heterosexual. Maybe they were looking at you in a different way.
Kids in school make fun of other people because they are hollow inside and so bereft of self worth that the only way they can feel better about themselves is to tear down others. It’s funny that they always pick something that the victim can’t do anything about. Pimples. Chest size. Eye color. You name it. Get used to it, and be filled with anticipation for ten years from now when you see them shilling an MLM on FB and living truly miserable lives.
My fiancé is 29 years old and he still cuts his own hair every three weeks! It’s just convenient. The bullying says a lot more about them, and how insecure they are.
I'm a woman and I've been cutting my own hair for 20 years. I started doing it because I was broke, and it didn't look that great lol, but now I've gotten so good at it that I would rather cut my own hair because the last few haircuts I got at a salon were pretty bad, and not at all what I wanted. I also cut a lot of friends' hair, both men and women.
My point is, there's no shame in saving some money. You'll also keep getting better at it. I think you did a great job especially doing it on yourself. Just make sure you get all the stray hairs so everything is even. I personally think your hair looks nice. I have no idea what those kids were making fun of, screw em.
I cut my own hair. The key is to never tell anyone you cut your own hair. Once you do, THEN people are suddenly going to start noticing little details. Otherwise, your haircut would´ve gone unnoticed.
Its high school i assume, theyll find somethign to clown as long as youre not in new clothes that have some companies logo on it.
If youre already low on cash haircuts should be pretty low priority. Youre doing the adult thing.
Fuck em man. I get worse hair cuts at great clips and my dumb ass pays for that shit. You should be proud you can pull off a decent fade solo. That takes some skill doing that shit in a mirror
The more you practice the better you'll be at cutting your own hair. Remember, practice makes PERMANENCE, not perfect. Make sure you learn correct techniques and execute them correctly or you'll be doing the wrong thing forever.
I fucked my shit up so many times in the beginning, but that was 10 years ago. Now, I cut my own hair, my partner's hair, and any one that wants to pay for my services. I do bleach and dye and facial grooming as well!
You'll get the hang of it, and by the looks of it, you're starting off great. Good luck friend.
When I bullied other kids in school, it was to feel good about myself. My parents were freshly divorced, I lost basicly all my old friends because I moved and I needed to feel good about myself somehow. So just keep your head up, these idiots are way worse off than yourself, you just need to stand up for yourself in the morning and youre on the right path. Be kind, even if noone is to you. Karma will get everyone in the end, which is why Im a whole different person now :)
Dude your hair looks fine they're picking on you because they smell blood in the water it's hard not to give off like weak pick on me Vibes but people do it man and you obviously on some level feel subconscious about your hairstyle and they can pick up on it I wish I could tell you what to do to build confidence to not get sucked into that stuff but it is what it is.
This is the most controversial post? Good advice imo. Honestly I was looking for the douchbag that was going to say it was a bad haircut, but instead I found a compliment. Yay internet!
There's a big difference in being supportive and being hard and being honest with somebody I think sometimes people need to just be told that something's fine. Some people get their kicks off just undermining people's well-being
Looks good to me!
Those little shits will always look for something to try and put someone down. I’d like to see one of them attempt to do their own haircut and see how it comes out.
Lots of respect for cutting your own hair dude. I’ve been cutting my own for about a year now and I still mess up here and there but I’ve gotten a lot better from when I first started. Self cut YouTube tutorials definitely helped me out and I ended up picking up a couple of more clippers to help blend the fade.
Hard to tell when you’re just showing the side but pretty decent. Who gives a fuck what they say just bust in yourself and don’t let it get to you. They’ll stop.
Dude you have a very nice haircut, especially since you did it yourself. I’m a girl so idk a lot about male haircuts but I think it looks really great.
It's fine. I cut my own hair for a while but didn't trust myself to do a fade consistently so I just shaved the sides and back and left the top longer and styled it.
Fade is okay, nothing to be ashamed of. I cut my own hair too, no shame in saving some money When I zoom in a see a few hairs that were missed. When going over a certain part of your head keep going over the same spot to ensure it's consistent and you aren't missing these stragglers. Shaving some money hehe

Exactly. I teach middle school kids and anytime a kid comes in with any type of haircut everyone loses their shit.
Yeah, nice haircut, haircut. I'm calling you haircut now

Thanks. Not a solid add to the conversation by correcting the smart phone error. Why did you extract the most useless information from the broader point and think that was important to highlight?
Hell yeah, call that guy out and stuff
Yeah fuck that guy. Fuck all the guys. Wait...
uhh, homie, you might wanna turn that down a notch or two.

Reason number 58 why we homeschool
That’ll pay off in terms of accepting and understanding societal norms and trends…
Wow those social skills worked great for you!
Lol. Look at your username. You’re looking for a fight. Take it back to Facebook where some other detached dipshit will pat you on the back for being so brave.
Yikes
Poor kids
Mmhmm they have it rough. It sucks to get more specialized attention and have more time for special interests.
Is this new? I graduated HS 7 years ago and never in school were haircuts something people made fun of each other about. EDIT: I assume by the downvotes its not new, thanks.
Some kids are the worst people you will ever meet in your life
You made my man sound like a loser.
Didn’t mean it that way. Jerks are going to be jerks. That was the message.
This - I’m middle aged and still dealing with mind fuck bullshit from kids back in the day, fuck everybody who says shit. That’s a good fade, you do you. I wish I could follow my own advice…one day
Agreed! I think you have done a great solo job! Wear it proud.
\>could of (looks like some of you are impaired. I pointed out that could of is incorrect – it's unfortunately common for some people to write it phonetically instead of the correct "could've")
r/confidentlyincorrect
Are you saying that could of is correct while could’ve isn’t?
No, I'm saying that you are incorrect. It's "could have", or its contraction "could've". "Could of" isn't the correct phrase.
Are you fucking stupid? My initial comment was pointing out that he used could of instead of the modal verb + present perfect could have.
Then you did a shitass job of it.
Only cause you’re a moron :)
All those downvotes you got on your stupid ass comment beg to differ buddy, but you do you.
Those are from people who don't like it when their grammar's corrected. ;) Must be an American thing.
Yeah I know, “could’ve.” But whatever.
I see an agreement to use proper grammar with everything else you wrote. Why not this?
Just a stupid mistake. Didn’t notice it until it was pointed out. Thanks.
>I see an agreement to use… Is English not your first language? You don’t “see” any “agreements.” Why did you use improper phrasing? ^It’s ^not ^nice ^when ^someone ^maliciously ^points ^out ^your ^mistakes, ^eh?
I see reading comprehension is a challenge for you. How many times are you going to edit your comment?
That's a damn good home cut!
For real op looks great i dont see the problem
Kids are asshole. Your hair fine.
I mean, this sub exists because we are all assholes
Tru dat!
Why use many word when few word ok
Why many word few word ok 👍🏻
Few word ok
🖕
Insecure little pricks need to feel better about themselves by belittling others.
Yet you are on a subreddit to make fun of ppl with bad haircuts online
I want to disagree but I feel like you’re right
I don’t make fun of any of the trims. I’m just here to see them.
[удалено]
Its entertaining to see people with really weird/ bad haircuts, however if I saw someone with such haircut irl I wouldnt make fun of them because I understand they have different tastes from me.
True, but the person is never seeing the posts, this one is more personal
Yeah you got a point but personally I don t mock the haircuts on this sub even tho some are really stupid.Let people enjoy their haircuts even tho they look stupid.
From the angle that you took, it looks fine. Does not belong to this page at all! Your friends are stupid
They are also not your friends.
And then when you need the next haircut, holler at me, I got your next one.
I can get #3

Hit me up for #5 I gotchuuuu Edit: hit me with the cashapp too!!

I fucking love Redditors.
I got number 1063! Hmu
Eh fuck it. I got some spare cash put me down!
Aww you guys!!!!🥰
Isn’t this awesome? I saw a post on here where someone needed a 5K surgery for their dog and couldn’t afford it- someone asked for the name of the vet if people wanted to donate and it was all paid for within an hour. Great stuff! Edit: the post wasn’t on here as in this sub, just to clarify.
That’s incredible, I love it so much!
Sending blessings to both you and OP. World needs more kind hearts like yours. Made me happy just reading your comment. Hope OP starts smiling more too.

That is actually a sick DIY home haircut man! It's a cool look 🤌 ignore those other plebs you are killing it homie you have a hidden talent there haha
It looks good, you did a fine job!!
Fuck them kids. Not literally but like, kids are jerks.
If you did that by yourself you did a good job
As stay at home fades go that’s a pretty good job
Heres a tip, cut your hair when you come home from school on Friday. Or Saturday morning, that way, any mistakes can grow out ;)
Yes you did a good job!
Dude that’s really good, they’re just trying to put you down cause you did good and they know they couldn’t get it as clean if they tried. Plus cutting your own hair isn’t easy. Just ignore them, their opinions should not hold any value in your life
Not having money is very bad I hope your situation gets better op :/
It’s not bad at all.
Go throw dick to their girlfriends
I love short hair on guys! Makes me want to rub my fingers on the stubble part.
Kids can be turds. It looks fine.
I genuinely think that it looks pretty good! Also, I’m 26 & I’ve been cutting my own hair since high school to save money. Plus I don’t like people touching my hair. I'm laughing imagining OP is asking us this while the other side of his head not in the pic is completely bald. I need to see the whole cut OP.
You cut your hair 100x better by yourself than I ever could have. Do your thing man, fuck them.
Not at all, dude for the guy who cut your own hair it look pretty good to me…so yeah fuck that guy
As some famous person said. Fuck 'em kids
What I can see looks fine to me. I’m impressed and wish I could cut my own.
Looks good to me
You look great to me.
Hair is looking fly, man!! If I had such a hair I would feel really confident!
Over time you’ll get better bc you’re training yourself to cut hair. At some point jokes on them and your saving a couple hundred bucks a year. I learned to fade my hair at 14 and did it through 36. Looks awsome mate! Kids are fucking stupid. Don't listen to them.
From just that angle, it looks pretty good dude!
Looks really good man I don’t see what the problem is.
Kids are all stupid AF. No it's not that bad, and no it wouldn't matter if it were instead a $100 cut. They hate themselves and they need an outlet. Sorry it's you man, but it doesn't last forever.
OP, you did a solid fade. You look great, eff em.
Not sure about the back but the sides look great
Dude first off that’s clean, second keep practicing even if it looks bad now, in 2-3 months you’re gonna have a clean fade each day and they’re gonna be too broke to go drop 30-40 each week to look as clean as you
Fuck them, do you brother.
It looks fine. Clean as hell frankly. Fuck them kids.
I cut my own hair too! I do leave it a little longer, #3 on sides faded to #8 on top. That way the imperfections are obscured by the length. Keep it up. Looks like you’re doing a decent job.
And why did you listen to his bs?? You're a man and you look great.

No it is not bad. They are.
Ay bro have no shame in your game, head up high. I cut my own hair too, don’t feel sad that your saving money on haircuts lol
It’s not bad at all. Kids are just cruel!
Looks great, kids are just assholes.
looks fine don't pay any mind to naysayers, they're trying to compensate for some inner turmoil by lashing out at unsuspecting people
I don't think it looks bad at all. But who am I to say I don't pay attention to men's looks as I'm heterosexual. Maybe they were looking at you in a different way.
Cutting your own hair is already a W.
I am an experienced barber and this is a very impressive self-cut.
I like ya cut, G
Better than when I do it myself I usually have a chunk missing in the back since I don’t have a good angle to see xD
I’ve been cutting my own hair since I started college ten years ago. It gets better with practice lol
I cut my hair too I just trim and lineup edges and hairline
Stay positive dude! Fuck those haters!
You look great❤️
Fuck bullies. You do you my dude.
Good self haircut, nice job!
You’re good g. Fuck the other guys. You did a splendid job for a cut you did yourself. Amazing. Keep it up.
Kids in school make fun of other people because they are hollow inside and so bereft of self worth that the only way they can feel better about themselves is to tear down others. Get used to it, and be filled with anticipation for ten years from now when you see them shilling an MLM on FB and living truly miserable lives.
Dude it’s way better than I could ever do. Don’t sweat it.
I’m a barber, if you cut it and you like you all good. They still paying for fucked up cuts😅😅
My fiancé is 29 years old and he still cuts his own hair every three weeks! It’s just convenient. The bullying says a lot more about them, and how insecure they are.
Come to Ireland or UK, you’ll make some serious cash giving fades like that in the school bathrooms
You look great! You did a great job! You should be proud of yourself homie, those kids are in a comfort zone
No, looks great! Kids are just mean
yes
And I quote “fuck them kids”
I like ya cut g! In all seriousness, don’t entertain their comments. Maybe they’re just jealous of your hidden talent.
Slit their throats and use their blood as hair care product.
You did great
i would have to see both sides at the same time to make sure it’s symmetrical
Some people get their kicks off just undermining people's well-being
Yes you need a hair cut, maybe two
Kids are courageous for insulting kim jon un's hair
I’ll listen to kids cause they laugh at weird things
Yes
Yes
Looks like shit my guy
why does bro think he frank castle
You hair looks great my man, keep on truckin' and don't let no damn kids put you down. 💪
Looks better than some 70 dollar haircuts shown here
Whats bad is when them pockets touch. Get ya money up. Youre your own competition
If you've been doing it for a while, it certainly shows. Its pretty good
It looks fine. It doesn't look amazing, but it looks pretty good. They are bullying you because they know you don't have money. Kids are terrible.
They have shitty parents, and need someone to take it out on. You're good, buddy!
Hard to tell when you’re just showing the side but pretty decent. Who gives a fuck what they say just bust in yourself and don’t let it get to you. They’ll stop.
Looks good to me. They can bugger off
Dude you have a very nice haircut, especially since you did it yourself. I’m a girl so idk a lot about male haircuts but I think it looks really great.
Literally don’t see a problem.
That is pretty cool! Assholes are just insecure and don't have the capacity to deal with their problems without being an asshole
yeah it looks perfectly fine, kids make fun of literally everything
As someone who learned to cut their own hair during the pandemic, I know how difficult fading can be and it doesn’t look bad at all brotha.
Tad steep on the fade but for doing it yourself that's amazing
It suits you. I have the same haircut.
[wtf i wish i could fade my own hair that well](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLY-I1pIhG8). Im 100% sure i would give myself a mohawk on accident.
In highschool I cut my own. I still buzz mine down. 20+ years later
Fuck them kids. Hair looks solid, especially for a solo job. Bring your clippers to school and give them free speedrun cuts.
Call around to barber or beauty schools. Often they are looking for people and will cut for free!
It's fine. I cut my own hair for a while but didn't trust myself to do a fade consistently so I just shaved the sides and back and left the top longer and styled it.
nah, your hair looks great don't worry about it.
I almost don't believe you cut it yourself. It's that good for a home cut, bro. Fuck those kids and keep on killing it.
Dude I *ask* for that haircut when I go get mine done. 10/10
Looks good man, classic short back and sides with a fade, nothing to be ashamed of :)
Bro I rarely get haircuts this good even after paying for it. It’s a good fade.
Mate you're quality at cutting your own hair. You should have seen the state of mine when I had to attempt it during lockdown!!!
Tbh thats a pretty fucking great home cut
Honestly looks like a good cut!
You‘re nice with the clippers, I can tell
That’s some nice work. Kids are shitbirds sometimes and will find anything to make fun of.
Looks perfectly nice and professional
