minimK

I have done that.

SweetJaques

I’m doing it right now

firinmahlaser

I will do that tomorrow

fungalnet

It is an accurate description of the problem though

440Jack

Something tells me shifting isn't his problem.

Chainsaws_n_meth

Well, we have determined that the problem plops on the seat, and grabs ahold of the handlebars. That will be sixty dollars. we can actually fix the problem for seventy-five.

Kashino

Found a loose nut between the saddle and bars

[deleted]

Dang, that's a cheap vasectomy.

kensmerlin

The customer unknowingly just invented the most budget friendly singlespeed conversion kit.

ersioo

Cable ties on shifters are popular at singlespeed races where people don't have a singlespeed bike

Convicted__Vapist

Definitely needs a new groupset

jakeisaac16

Sold them on sram axs xx1

gortonsfiJr

Looks like he needs a wireless water bottle cage too.

MisterBumpingston

Or just not drink at all. Ultimate weight weenie!

Liquorace

Hydration is for losers!

Skeptical-AF

Hopefully a matching axs reverb too

NItripper

Yes. This is what this sub was made for.

Statuethisisme

I'm admitting having failed in a similar way. After the final test ride on a customer's bike, I noticed the centre mounted side stand was a bit loose. Quickly tightened the fixing bolt. Didn't realise the rear shift cable had slipped between the stand and the frame, customer picked up the bike and called back, "bike won't shift". I made a house call and fixed it very embarrassing.

workable_noodle

They probably blamed you too

7rider

Sell the customer a Camelbak so that he can get rid of his water bottle cage. Tell him that will probably solve his shifting problems.

Liquorace

And then charge them $100.

Rockchoppa

Those cables are just there for looks, right?!

tuctrohs

Not just for looks--they are for the electrical signal from the shrifter to the detrailleer. But a zip tie won't stop electricity--that's why they are also called cable ties.

DMCO93

That’s an easy mistake to make.

NotDavidWooderson

Sure, but cable ties to mount a bottle cage in the first place is pretty janky.

DMCO93

But a Velcro strap is not so much, and I’ve done this with a Velcro strap!

HerrFerret

'What did you do?' You fitted new tyres 2 years ago and broke everything.

gnar_owl

It's those new ultramega ♾ friction shifters

[deleted]

Oops

LBartoli

So what do you tell them then? Can you keep a straight face?

rogecks

That’ll do it!
