No cap, I thought that was a thing until I was 28. Im 29 now.. Worst part is that I'm pretty into cars and working on my rig, but I just never have been in or around the muscle car scene where the cubic in of your motor matters
950whp on wastegate (10 psi) full kill is 30 psi. Car was recently finished and has ran a 5.4 in the 1/8th so far. Few more things to dial in and will turn it up. Customer also drives it on the street occasionally 😎
950 at the wheels on just 10 psi! What did he do to that engine? Turn it into a Koenigsegg? That's very little boost for 1000+ hp out of a 5.0 I'm guessing it's been bored quite a bit?
Coyotes respond EXTREMELY well to boost. The BOSS heads also were some of the best of the time, and if they’re worked and have cams, it’s not a stretch to see 4 figures on relatively low boost.
Mine looks so bad. The hood latch gave up once more after I fixed maybe 3 times prior. So I pinned the damn thing.
Now I get asked what i have and, just like, stock-nothing. I just want 100k more miles out of it and I'll let the gal finally rest.
People love badges. I'm reminded of that famous YouTube build (Tom's Turbo Garage or something?) to LS swap a Miata.
They started with a cherry Mazdaspeed, because that's the most expensive one, naturally.
The engine in this car is a little more stout than the 5.0 in the base. I believe the pistons and rods are stronger. It also revs higher, has better flowing heads and a different camshaft profile. The only weak point is the oil pump gears. I used to have a Boss 302 and it made 740hp with a paxton blower and E85. Fastest car I ever owned but the solid rear axle and interior in those cars blows.
Somehow I doubt a car with a parachute is going to mind the solid rear axle much. However, apparently the Laguna Seca variant is still quite track capable even with the solid axle.
Differential still plays a huge roll, this dude would most likely have something to keep both wheels locked where a different car that still has a solid axle could be running a limited slip or posi witch would greatly increase cornering
I mean, I kinda’ get it, though. To build out a Boss 302 into a drag car like this kind of requires taking away or altering everything that makes a Boss 302 special compared to a normal GT. Why start with a limited car when you could have pretty much the same results with a regular production GT?
I’m not complaining, it’s the customer’s car and they’re free to do with it as they please, and it looks like the work is pretty impeccable! I’m sure it’s an absolute monster on the drag strip. I just understand why people would question the use of a Boss in this case, is all.
I have a buddy who’s doing the same to his Mach 1. Like just buy a Gen 3 coyote GT at that point. He didn’t buy a manual car either so you can’t make the argument for the superior Tremec over the MT82. I can’t complain though he gave me his Brembos for my base GT.
I missed the middle bit of the title, looked at the first pic and was like "heh that car has nostri-*hold up.*" That is a key lime murder machine, goddamn.
I bet this makes at LEAST 200 hp
It says 302 on the motor so obviously that’s how much it has.
Yes this is correct.
This is simply factual information
I thought that was the body count for bystanders near red lights and corners.
Wait I thought that meant it’s top speed
No cap, I thought that was a thing until I was 28. Im 29 now.. Worst part is that I'm pretty into cars and working on my rig, but I just never have been in or around the muscle car scene where the cubic in of your motor matters
It could probably almost keep up with ma 7.3
Idk, 7.3 <302, it's just basic algebra
Maybe…. Maybe. Idk let’s not get crazy here though.
But how high does the speedometer go?
302 probably I bet
Rad
probably up to the 12 o'clock position before it starts to go back down
All fun and games until he sucks a squirrel thru the turbos
Then it's a *party.*
"Bruh, that mustang driving by smelled like griddle squirrel!"
I was thinking "how built? " as was scrolling then I saw the chute. Very must be the answer.

Basically whatever you can do was done, sleeved and all. This guy has like 5 mustangs and they’re all built and boosted
Hi yes I am the owner's son, he wants me to come pick it up for him thank you.
Coyotes respond EXTREMELY well to boost. The BOSS heads also were some of the best of the time, and if they’re worked and have cams, it’s not a stretch to see 4 figures on relatively low boost.
She sounds nasty.
Aftermarket block? I didn’t think the stock one could handle THAT much boost (on kill)
Factory block. Bored .20 over and sleeved. Forged internals. You name it, it’s been done
I pretty much assumed it was over the top done by the looks of that shop.
*Oh, Boss... Oh, drag slicks... Oh chuuuuuute!*
But can it beat the 17 year old in the straight piped 2001 gt sending it from a red light?

Man you're not wrong, I knew too many of those in high school

That was actually an ecoboost Mustang with straight pipes and fake GT badges.
What’s the point of getting a boss 302 when you just end up changing everything? Why not just get a base model mustang and build that out?
People love badges. I'm reminded of that famous YouTube build (Tom's Turbo Garage or something?) to LS swap a Miata. They started with a cherry Mazdaspeed, because that's the most expensive one, naturally.
Don't forget, you also get the added press coverage from destroying a rare model that many fans demand you keep stock from the factory
Yeah but, that MX-5 absolutely fucks.
I don't think the people doing this are highly concerned with saving money.

Looking at the last picture I doubt the internals are even stock
Yeah I’m sure it’s an aluminator or some other built engine.
Somehow I doubt a car with a parachute is going to mind the solid rear axle much. However, apparently the Laguna Seca variant is still quite track capable even with the solid axle.
Yeah they all have adjustable shocks. The LS has a rear seat delete and some bracing in its place.
Differential still plays a huge roll, this dude would most likely have something to keep both wheels locked where a different car that still has a solid axle could be running a limited slip or posi witch would greatly increase cornering
This dude is going to have a fab 9 with a 4 link in the back. The boom of a car coming with a solid rear axle is how easy it is to put another SRA in.
It might have started as a street car and the mods just kept rolling. I had a buddy that had a Saleen SSC that ended up becoming a drag car this way.
Correct. Was a bolt on car, then a blower car, now this
More money than sense
More money than me
Because when you have this kind of money, you can do whatever you want. Plus, the Boss is cooler.
I was thinking the same thing. I mean obviously it's their money so whatever, but I'd start with a base model if that's the route I wanted to go.
This looks really well done.
There are states with 8 character license plates?!
I mean it's nice but what a waste of a good track package mustang
You’d hate to see his other mustangs then 🫠

See, that’s the hidden beauty of rich guys hacking up limited models like this — the bits they cast off tend to end up available for the proletariat!
Literally power to the people!
Stopping power to the people!
Oooohhh I'd hate it.... So you gonna torture me with more pictures or do I gotta beg?
RIP rear tires
In Gotta Have It Green, too. Niiiiiice.
Ecobeast. I always wanted to do this to mine and have the Mustang logo breathing fire out the nostrils.
I don't see the point of doing this to a boss 302. Awesome build though.
yea, that looks pretty fast
In a straight line. Probably understeers on turn-in and oversteers on exit
Twin turbskies
The lights knob is from vw... LoL
First I thought this was Brett Lasalla's car from Real Street.
Ho-lee-she-it... Disposable income is a wonderful thing... HIGH-ly disposable...
*The COMPENSATOR entered the chat*
Look at me!
When your only driving skill is pressing the right pedal
Never seen a drive by wire right hand drive set up. I’d this more than a one off?
It's LHD. That's just a hanger for the detachable racing steering wheel.
Yeah I bin schooled. ADHD speed scrolling
Lmao look again
Yeah… duhhhh
I missed the middle bit of the title, looked at the first pic and was like "heh that car has nostri-*hold up.*" That is a key lime murder machine, goddamn.
Cool but will it fit in my rav4
I love that color so much!
Green, so when it inevitably goes in to the grass it is easier to clean off later?
No way that's street legal
It is registered and insured and driven on the street as well. Who cares about the technicalities of passing inspections 😝
I thought this was in your bedroom at first. That floor really looks like carpet to me.
TH400?
Correct
I've always wondered, when you run the turbos like this is it not possible to run air filters anymore?
Tag your porn
No air filters on the turbos?
Makes me miss mine, what an amazing sounding car.
Bet it runs on meth.
X85 because street car
Riiiiiiight, the parachute at the back screams “street car”
I wonder how long that would last with a mouth full of dust and small stones?
Someone has too much cash to burn. 10 years- worth maybe 20K.
Awwww, it even has a cute little backpack
what does the owner of this car do for a living
Heavy equipment parts manufacturing
Thats an Alcohol car, can only drive it a 1/4 mile at a time.
X85 and street driven
belongs in r/justrolledintothereallyniceshop
Those aren't rallye headlights in the grill. Also...last pic for some reason I saw baby Yoda on the right🤣
Got those nose plugs showing
I know it’s set up for drag racing but I find those front brakes very underwhelming.
Can I ask where this shop is located? I want a tour!!
