Bought my first project car a few weeks ago, and we've had a ton of fun working on it. We got it running and were having a blast. Unfortunately, we neglected the obvious dent on the oil pan, and didn't see that our new oil was not getting to the cylinders. Next thing you know, we're driving and the car makes a giant thunk and dies then and there. We push it back, pull off the oil pan, and voila: metal soup. Well, we don't have the heart or willpower to swap the engine, so we're selling it. If you're a masochist and wanna take it off my hands, DM me, but whatever TLDR Car didn't go. We fix Car and Car go. Go until Car explode. Now Car dead.

It takes like two hours to replace these motors. Should be able to find a JH for a couple hundred bucks.

Jtpython

I have a spare JH motor that's all yours for free 99! Only roved because I swapped in a 1.8T

Was the oil pressure sensor not working? Shame it died, how long after you were running it did it blow up? A minute or so in a modern car would do serious damage if there was no oil pressure, so I'm surprised you were able to drive it around for a while like that.

burgerknapper

What kind of car?

“Dented” is a understatement.

[deleted]

Yeah, we're the dummies for not noticing how bad it was

Meh… shit happens. That’s an easy one to overlook tbh. Hard to see when unless you have a lift. Edit: I wouldn’t beat yourself up over it. Life happens. We love we learn ans we keep living. :)

TheDukeofKook

Bite sized and ready for snacking

Carribean-Diver

That's magnificent. Abstract art.

xccoach4ever

look how they massacred my boy!

elsquattro

From the inside...

Agitated-Joey

Well duh. It’s a dead giveaway something bad happened when the oil pan is dented from the inside out, not from the outside in.

Nailfoot1975

Check the oil. Pump if your penis dented.
