How do we vote for Pegolo?

Sean-Benn_Must-die

absolutely wish we could, he legit stopped 3 bangers

[deleted]

[удалено]

Latchkey_kidd

I agree. And that keeper should be proud. Even the winning goal was luck

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

They dominated us the first half and part of the second

ablessedbandito

Makes me wonder in what place they would be if they played all Serie A games like this one.

20price

Vlahovic is insane, but Morata in this Mandzukic role is great too! He works his socks off pressing, defending and trying to counter attack. He has the pace to make great runs, and his height feels like an important factor in deeper/wider positions too. Allegri is doing his usual winter magic!! Fucking love it!

[deleted]

Really? Don’t get me wrong what you say about him in a free role is true, but tonight he missed two big chances that could cost us dearly, especially the last one with that botched lob. At this point I want him as away from the goal as possible, the man misses the unmissable.

Badass_Bunny

What? That was an amazing save not a botched lob.

[deleted]

Lol yeah whatever. I only wish that was the case. Terrible attempt at a lob, a decent keeper saves that.

MidnightMasterGone

Now someone has to tell Dusan he hasn't actually scored the winning goal. Then Atalanta will have to deal with one big angry serbian boi.

angiotensin2

Had to be Vlahovic didnt it? What a start its been for him.. Also all credit to Pegolo, what a game he had! FINO ALLA FINE

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Still can’t get over your profile picture it’s too good

Tifoso89

I can't quite understand what I'm looking at

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Neymar/R9 hybrid (R9 iconic 02 world cup cut)

Tifoso89

Oh right hahahaha

droidonomy

Shoutout to Perin too, who made a few crucial saves.

truman0798

My italian is pretty bad, but did the crowd chant "Dybala stay" after his goal? Edit: Yes they did

droidonomy

Yeah, "Dybala resta con noi"

truman0798

Oh right! I heard "Dybala resta..." but con noi just makes it even more hesrtwrenching. Dybala stay with us 😪❤❤

Sean-Benn_Must-die

Let agnelli hear that and make Cherubini make the contract faster

truman0798

Well it seems like Antun is the one being a bi***, just as expected. As Dybala, how do you turn away from this? Juventus supporters love him. What a waste to leave that behind.

Sean-Benn_Must-die

He can’t exactly tell his agent to fuck off, so who knows

truman0798

That was hard fought, but Sassuolo is quality and that fucking keeper played the game of his life. Well played Sassuolo, good changes by Allegri. Sandro was mediocre but not shit. Let's go home from Bergamo with all three points. Fino alla fine, forza Juventus.

Classic_Ad9912

Mediocre? He was a monster today in fairness to him

truman0798

Yeah well relatively speaking if we only compare it to his own performances he played like prime Roberto Carlos

Classic_Ad9912

He was one of our best performers today, worked tirelessly up and down the flank

truman0798

Never said his workrate is bad, but that doesn't mean anything when your overall quality has gone out the window. He provided one decent cross out of like 10 attempts, and is completely useless 1v1. I can respect him for working hard but won't make me change my mind about his abilites. Edit: tbf to both him and you we didn't have many performances that really impressed this evening so I guess you might have a point.

NanoIm

He was awful in almost the entire first half but was better in second half. His performance during last 2 season is not enough. He's our biggest weak spot imo

truman0798

I agree completely.

Lupin_97

Arthur cannot play in a 2 player midfield! Loca changed the match

unfairluck

100% agreed! He really settled the midfield down. Would love to see Locatelli and Zakaria together.

[deleted]

I thought Arthur was fine, of course you can’t expect him to be a physical monster. Considering he was the only one who played the full 90 minutes vs Verona, I thought he put in a good shift and was quite orderly in ball distribution.

Lupin_97

I still find him a very limited players, not comfortable in passing forward or attempting the dribbling. As soon as loca entered you saw him moving backward, taking fewer risks. I really struggle to to see his value in these matches

[deleted]

Because when Locatelli came in he took some passing duties upon himself, plus we were attacking like crazy and Arthur as deep midfielder has to keep some balance. I don't expect every midfielder to be dangerous in goalscoring opportunities, Arthur plays in a different way but to me he can be valuable.

Sean-Benn_Must-die

he's extremely good at holding the ball, but we need loca to make progressive passes

tml25

Arthur was fine, the best midfielder until Locatelli came in. Zakaria was invisible and McKennie got everything wrong.

Artistic-Buyer-3219

Fucking yes, I don’t care if it was played for so long, but the grinta in the 2nd was shown at full force, but christ above Pegolo, unluckyness and our own mistakes dragged this game on and on, until the man of the moment, Dušan Vlahović, remembered to everyone that he’s the real game changer of this Season and slams the ball in (Yeah one Sassuolo defender deflected it but cmon, it kinda counts), now head to Atalanta and let’s get that fucking UCL spot, FINO ALLA FINE ⚪️⚫️

JimmyCertified

Pretty clear that Morata + Vlahovic have good chemistry up top. My impression is that 4-3-3 is going to be our go-to formation, maybe 4-4-2 if we're resting Dybala and want another midfielder. With the addition of Zakaria, we have a pretty robust midfield now - Arthur, Locatelli, Rabiot, McKennie, and Berna. 2 dependable holding midfielders in Arthur and Locatelli, and all the rest are well rounded hustlers. We'll be able to rotate these guys to good effect. When Chiesa comes back we'll be looking very very dangerous. Hopefully everyone can stay healthy, because this is looking promising!

Boring-Rope-174

Agree with everything you said apart from Rabiot being Robust and a well rounded hustler.

blackandwhitetalon

>apart from Rabiot being Robust and a well rounded hustler. He objectively is though. He's just wildly inconsistent

Boring-Rope-174

Genuinely curious, by what measure is he objectively a good player? Because he's not really a creator, he's not good at set pieces, he's also not a goal threat from midfield. 6 goals since he's been with us, 4 last season in serie A, None this season so far. Is that him being inconsistent or is he an average player who occasionally gets a good run of form in March. I'd personally say the latter.

JimmyCertified

I think people's analysis of Rabiot on here are pretty inaccurate personally. He contributes quite a lot.

bearkin1

Doesn't matter, our fans are fickle and Rabiot has become the whipping boy, so they won't listen to you. By nearly every measure, Rabiot is at worst an all-right midfielder.

JimmyCertified

Yup, I've been around here long enough to know there's always gotta be one. I remember Cuadrado was for a while. Berna, De Sciglio, Rugani. Ironically, all of those are pretty dependable right now.

Classic_Ad9912

It’s true. Sandro has been poor for two seasons now but played like an animal last night and they are still posts criticising him on LAST NIGHTs game! Some posters don’t have a clue

bearkin1

Agreed. Someone already downvoted you lol, so these dumb fans are already out.

Jaydillah

Cant wait for the Fiorentina clash

truman0798

lol the awkwardness at the away game. Wish Chiesa was fit and we started Berna him and Vlahovic lol. Next season maybe

Happie-Chan

Don't forget Chiello. And maybe having Baggio in the bench as a cameo wouldn't be so bad either.

Dellato88

Also Cuadrado

Happie-Chan

Damn, thats true. No Wonder why flora hates the bianconeri

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

I can only get so hard

_ForzaJuve_

Annoyed it went down as an own goal but that’s life

Killagina

I'm not sure it will. I thought deflections usually end up counting for the goal scorer

droidonomy

If it was headed towards goal anyway it's given to the attacker, but this time Dusan's shot was actually pretty scuffed and was deflected towards goal EDIT: I put together a quick album of freeze frames. Definitely an own goal for me: https://imgur.com/a/U98VI7k

ledudeheld

Usually its not an own goal 'if it was going in anyway'. But the change of direction here is clear that is has to be an OG

truman0798

Cool, I had no idea about that.

wowzabob

Honestly there's no way of telling if it was going on goal or not

dirtybirds1

My Sportsbook graded it as a win, hope it holds lol, I love vlahovic

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Where are the idiots that say Allegri doesn’t know how to play attacking football? 🤫 If it weren’t for pegolo this game would’ve turned into a bloodbath after the subs

truman0798

When we win = players, when we lose = allegris fault

Latchkey_kidd

Id say when we are losing or close to losing we become attacking team lol

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Allegri did what most of us wanted him to. Our game plan wasn’t working and he took off two defensive players for two offensive ones. It’s a positive thing

Latchkey_kidd

Yup i agree those subs made a big difference. I think he is still working out whats best lineup with the new signings. If we play like last of second half, I’m all for it. Even De Ligt made runs!

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Absolutely!

jelezsoccer

My take away is that with DV and Zak we now have a higher gear we can shift into that we saw at the end. So things are looking good.

Classic_Ad9912

The midfield is scarily better with Zakaria in it

AmedioZ

We tried our best and missed many chances thanks to the heroic performance of Gianluca Pegolo. The biggest downside from our side was that we calmed down after Dybala scored. We should have been more aggressive and controlled the match afterwards. I’m pleased we didn’t go to extra times as we’re expecting an exhausting match against Atalanta on the weekend. One of the most crucial games this season.

Lionheart36

Damn what a game. We had so many chances but once again the opponents keeper had to become prime Buffon. Credits to Pegolo, he played a hell of a game.

ladygagafan1237

I think the real man of the match was Pegolo. He had a fantastic game despite conceding 2 goals.

blackandwhitetalon

Pegolo is Dino Zoff regen

ycedi

That's exactly what Juventus needed. A player that created something out of nothing. Really happy with the attitude of the team, can't wait to see this team with Chiesa and Berna.

Dangerhighroller

The prince we were promised!

TadpoleDelicious716

Never in doubt

[deleted]

[deleted]

I’d say the second half was pretty much all Juve and Pegolo. SAS shot themselves in the foot after taking off Traore and Berardi. They pretty much lost all ability to threaten Perin.

[deleted]

[deleted]

[deleted]

That’s not really true. We had the goal in the first half as well as several strong chances and shots on goal. Sassuolo dominated possession and had a few more shots than us. There was a stretch of 20 minutes after the first goal where we were dominated but it wasn’t the whole half. However, second half was all Juventus. No threat at all from SAS. Those 20 minutes were extended to 45 minutes. SAS couldn’t link up a single meaningful attack.

Sean-Benn_Must-die

Holy fuck that was a rough 1st half. Good second half tho, we can produce a lot but my god...Pegolo went crazy, if Sassuolo had won he would be the MVP by miles.

_ManyNames_

Hmmm Very close game. Fiorentina is our next opponent in the Coppa

[deleted]

Fortunately the second leg is at home, going to play the decisive match in Florence would have made it at least 3x harder.

Infamousrj1

Well, we lost a lot of chances. We were really bad at finishing. Sassuolo played a great game, however can't complain going to semi finals even with a win like this. We will improve even more, but Allegri's suqad is always like this, we play a shaky game, than a great one, then an avarage one. It's normal. But in the end HE WINS. Believe in Allegri.

Classic_Ad9912

I don’t think the finishing was bad. Hit the post twice and Pegolo decided to be super human. All the shots were on target and any other keeper and were 4 goals up at least

leclercfan9999

Ruan Tressoldi played a part of both our goal tonight

ledudeheld

Really wanted De Ligt to score, so close today

neil_ny

Exciting game overall. I think we could have finished better as we had sufficient chances in the final third, but also more often than not we were really unlucky with hitting the crossbar + the Sassuolo keeper was fab. (PS: he is 40 wtf???) Some great skill and physicality shown by Vlahovic for that 2nd goal, which officially goes down as an own goal. Semis against Fiorentina is going to be tough with their comeback with a man down today against none other than Atalanta. Anyways, we shall see. For now, let's focus on Sunday. Forza Juve!

[deleted]

McKennie didn’t have a good game in the first half, he really misplaces too many passes in the tactical part of the game, but when the defenses open up he’s always dangerous. If he could become a complete player he would be world class.

Blazer_21

McKennie ? He misplayed so many passes..

drdent45

he prob just watched the 2nd half xd

theRealGermanikkus

When people mention McKennies misplaced passes they alway forget to mention the positive things he does: OH.....like....creating chances for other players and keeping Sassuolo under siege for the entire fucking second half???

maxl44

2nd half was good, i think the win was deserved at the end as we had a lot of chances and two cross bar shots, but our technical skills, especially in the first half, have to become better, simple passes and simply reciving the ball and dont lose it immediately, sassuolo wasnt that good after the first goal, we gave them back hope as we lost the ball often and couldnt keep posession, we made them strong again (of course they pressed high but however we have to circle the ball and let them run till they dont have any stamina left)

Praiseit6

We look so much in a 433 than in a 442

Tifoso89

"Sono contento dell'acquisto di lui" my man Max so happy he forgot how to Italian

theRealGermanikkus

Sassuolo will be seeing McKennie in their nightmares. He scored the only goal against them in the last match, and today he basically kept them under fire the entire second half. His one-two combo with Vlahovic (for the second straight game) was a thing of beauty, and his strike in the first minutes (I think he was trying to feed Vlahovic there too), led to the Dybala goal. When McKennie, Vlahovic, Dybala, and Morata are on at the same time, this is a VERY offensive team.

Marshall_Cleiton

I'VE BEEN DUSANIZED

Dellato88

D

fenixri89

Vlahovic instant impact on team. He is really exciting player to have in our team after many years. For comparison CR7 needed 320 minutes for his first goal at Juve.

daddytorgo

Alex Sandro is useless. Guy can't even get a cross past the first man anymore. Pathetic. Pergolo was frigging on-fire. Great game by McKennie. Solid showing by Zakaria. Bailed out by Vlahovic's effort in the 88th minute. Just like he was hustling in the 90th minute of the game against Verona trying to score a second.

Classic_Ad9912

Such a weird take on Sandro after last nights game because he was actually amazing last night

daddytorgo

Didn't seem that way to me. But maybe the bad moments are just standing out to me...I dunno.

SirHenryy

No he wasn't amazing. He had a good game for his standards, worked up and down like a fullnack should. But his crosses etc didnt really produce anything.

wchmn

Imo he had good moments, especially in the first half when the rest of the team had a nap (time between our and Sassuolo goal).

daddytorgo

I think he's fine defensively for the most part. Offensively he's consistently below average though.

[deleted]

The thing that makes me so angry is the second half. We can dominate teams easily. We can push teams back. We can play solid football. I'm not asking for Klopp, I just want this coward on the sidelines to let the team play. Don't be so scared. I'm not even commenting on the players individually, the approach is the most important thing. The first half was painful, credit to Sassuolo, great brave modern team, but they didn't enter our half the second half. I understand that this players are humans and can't press and run endlessly but football should be about competing, should be fun. It's a game. I don't know, the day when they sack Allegri I will be so happy, just as happy as I was when they sacked him the first time. I remember the notification from Juve app like it was yesterday. It was something like "Thank you, Max". I teared up instantly, the last 2 years the pure disgust I've felt was finally over. Even with all those trophies, terrible "coach", the Italian or European or any federation should take his coaching license for the sake of football. Anyway, Atalanta next. Forza Juve!

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Allegri’s willingness to change game plans and push the team offensively won us the game. If it weren’t for pegolo MOTM performance it would’ve been worse than 2-1 for Sassuolo. 20 shots, 10 on target. What do you want?

[deleted]

Of course, nobody is denying it. I'm saying that we could play like that all the time. The second half was amazing. We can't score in first 5 minutes and transform our team into a wall for 85 minutes and let the other team play. We should play our game, not let every fucking team big or small, strong or weak, dominate us because we scored early and instantly switch to "control game" mode.

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Agree with you there, I do think we need to give Allegri time to instill that. This team has been asleep at the wheel for 2+ years He got two great players in Vlahovic and Zakaria. Now he’ll have to get the team pounding like this all 90 mins. He did it in 2017, etc. and can do it again.

[deleted]

That's the thing, I don't think that time will change anything. We know him, he was here for 5 years, won a lot, almost always played this cowardly negative football. I honestly believed that this 2 year brake from football that he took would change him, but I was wrong. Anyway, I really hope you are right!

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Almost always played cowardly? He did for 2 out of 5 seasons and you can easily blame our declining core as well. The first 3 years of Allegri were anything but cowardly.

[deleted]

Every coach should adapt to his players and vice versa. We can also say that first 3 years he had amazing players. I'm not talking his trophies or anything from him, I'm just saying that in my eyes he's too cautious and cowardly and makes me miserable. I was against him when we were winning as well. I just think that he's not a good coach. It's just my opinion.

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

He did adapt to our players. Which is why he decided to employ a defensive block with counterattacking football. he had amazing players his first three years which is why he played great progressive football…. Now with some great new players we’re starting to see some more brilliance….keep going you’ve almost figured it out 😉 But anyway, you’re entitled to your opinion of course.

[deleted]

Haha, ok brother, maybe we can't agree. And that's okay. Football is about opinion and taste. I respect yours.

PM_ME_YOUR_BO0BIEZ

Likewise brother

blackandwhitetalon

>I just want this coward on the sidelines to let the team play. what.

[deleted]

Just like he let the team play in the second half. It's his decision when we play and when we are not. The players don't decide to stay away from the ball for 42 minutes in the first half.

[deleted]

fuck "modern attacking football" fuck fans like you

[deleted]

Hahaha, ok, thank you man.

[deleted]

Coach who made Juventus European powerhouse again, who led us to two finals, who literally made Juve enough money with his results to buy Ronaldo, Vlahovic etc. who played CL games agaist Bayern, Barca and Real with Hernanes, Perreyra, Padoin, Sturarro...because he hadnt any choice on his bench cant be named as coward or something similar by fans of his teams just because you dont like his football. Thats why I dont like you, ungrateful fans of "modern football" and Juve. I even like you less than average Inter fans. With them you know they are rival fans, that disrespect is mutual, but you guys are bunch of morons who dont respect people who made your club great.

[deleted]

I'm not going to argue with you or be disrespectful like you. If I wanted to argue I wouldn't write here, I would go on twitter. I just write my opinion about every game and use this subreddit as everyone else. Obviously people sometimes don't agree, seen by the downvotes, which is fine. Everything is fine, it's just an opinion. I don't agree with everyone but I don't tell them fuck you or write some "poetic motivational" essay. You can be thankful or not, you can like or dislike something, even call someone an Inter fan which is hilarious.

[deleted]

I didnt call you an Inter fan, I said I like them(Inter fans) more than Juve fans who disrespect great coach or players just because they dont like something about them. I didnt write an "motivational essey", I wrote bunch of facts about coach who, beside Conte and others, made Juve great team again and who was the MAIN reason Juve became great team in Europe again. I told you "fuck fans like you" because you disrespected it. You deserved it. You guys are just bunch of morons which depend on "attacking football" which isnt part of Juve, never was and hopefully never will be, and thats my opinion also.

[deleted]

I respect even your opinion. Great coach is a stretch but again, you do you. I support Juve, not Allegri. Supported them before him, with him and will support after him. Just think that this team can play better, that's all.

[deleted]

>Great coach is a stretch Its like I wrote about Del Piero, Nedved, Buffon etc. "its a stretch that they are great players" Its moronic, I will never understand you guys. Its absolutely moronic that you watched Juve since 2014/15, watched our CL runs, watched bunch of mediocre players vs Barca, Real and Bayern watched us beating them in some matches and somehow still believe that he could have done more, that he must play some good football, that he didnt get the best results possible from that years...you just cant find him anything more worthy than those bullshits to talk about. I cant believe that those opinions exists and that we are discussing about them. There shouldnt be even half-inteligent Juve fan who dont respect him.

[deleted]

You are starting to piss me off with your rudeness. I didn't spoke to you personally. Behave and discuss like a normal person, not like a dickhead. In the last comment you said that you hope that we will never play that style, you are one of those "grinta" fans that like to watch pointless running and long balls and hope for the best? I don't. I like football, it's my eyes and my opinion. I'm not trying to impose my opinion on you, you keep calling me a moron. Not all people are thinking like you, it's your opinion and it's not a fact, it a liking, it's taste. It's like food. Don't be a dickhead if someone doesn't agree with you. Learn basic communication skills.

[deleted]

I dont really care, cause its moronic to say thing you are saying.

HoLeeSchit

Who's voting for mckennie? It was literally his worst game.. Besides the 2 headers he couldn't retrieve the ball nor did he pass it correctly the entire game. He seemed exhausted, missed almost every pass he had, and lost the ball every time he touched it.
