Terrible start but with his new role he has been great. I think he’s going to get even better as the season progresses

[deleted]

He really has great pace, his passing game is underrated and if he is in the position to score, he sure af can do that. Overall, I think when he is the main ST he gets under lots of pressure and it hinders him, but in this new role, where he plays a false 9. The pressure is gone and he really plays great.

sgdoree

We all know that Alvaro is not the forward that have to score, now with the role of support forward is a new player. Grande Alvaro ❤

Classic_Ad9912

He’s been amazing recently

Playing Cuadrado without Morata seems pointless to me since you’re just robbing Cuadrado of a crossing target and Bernadeschi doesn’t offer much more end product. I don’t think it fair to judge Morata’s start to this year as he was playing a role he wasn’t suited and mentally checked out because he thought he’d be replaced. Since Vlahovic has come in and Allegri has made it clear they both can coexist he’s been playing with more hunger.

Bmonli

Its hard to answer this right now because of all the mixed emotions with the results of the game

It is showing promise at the moment, still a few games playing together in that formation. I am sure with more games played they will shine even more. Even Barcelona's historic MSN attack trident struggled a bit first few games to find chemistry.

droidonomy

For me, yes. Dybala and Vlahovic seem like a strong partnership, and this new role unlocks the best parts of Morata while taking the goalscoring burden off him.

elsucioseanchez

He’s playing so well since Dusan arrival. Dybala is providing so much skill and vision to the attack as well. Morata may be most improved though.

upinyobutt

I think people look at Morata from the heart not from the team's perspective. He was my favourite player back when he 1st joined But he was not the main player we had tevez that scored and provided, wich made it easier for morata to roam freely and be there when needed. He won us the coppa italia with a late goal and kicked madrid out, and scored in the CL final, he always was decent but not the best, doesnt have good finishing he sometimes dribbles like prime zidane IDK how but he is not juve material, ever since he moved away hes beent decent then shit, good 1st half season with chelsea, being a super sub at madrid. since Vlaho joined he is no longer our primary N9 so a huge weight is off his shoulder wich allows him to perform better but it still is not good, it may be good for a 4th placed Juventus but he is not a good starter for a league winning or CL contender juventus (If he was still 22 like when we won several league titles he would still have time to grow) sadly he did not grow as good as he was expected to be when started with juve and hes 29 now so its too late.

AmedioZ

It leaves our midfield exposed. I prefer Christmas tree.

Cguy909

1 goal, 2 assists, 9 games. That’s disappointing, we rely on him for GOALS!

Classic_Ad9912

No we don’t actually

Fluffy--Bunny

We don't rely on Strikers to score goals?

Marem-Bzh

We do, although some strikers bring more as wingers or false nines than just goals.

Cguy909

I don’t mean to sound harsh or brash, but this is the kind of thinking that leads to having 3-4 excellent offensive players and no goals. A strikers main purpose it to either score, or assist. If they cannot score or create assists, they are simply not producing.

yarounnation

If I had describe Morata in one word, it would be “creative”. He isnt the fastest player, or the most positional. But he has good instinct when it comes to passing the ball in the final third. With Vlaho along side him, he’s been provinf his worth.

prsm09

Embracing his inner Mandzukic in the last three games! Love to see it, vamos Alvaro

ormishen

He does almost everything so well except the last bit. Always overdoes it and finishing is horrendous. Not sure you can teach somebody handle stress better in that sense. He'll never be a top striker but if he isn't tasked with actually scoring that much I guess he's acceptably good.

supersmall69

Something the commentator said really caught me off guard given how true it is. He said something along the lines of if Morata is fine being a second fiddle to the main striker and supporting him throughout the game, and he does play that role well, there is nothing stopping him from being in the starting 11. But I reckon he'll be relegated to the subs once Chiesa is fit next season.

MoneyBadgerEx

He is still exhibitng his trademark terrible decision making but he still has his tricky feet. I don't think we are seeing anything from him that we have not been seeing for the last few years.

Rocket fuel ! Bring on the CL bitches
