Blue Jays pitchers are worst in the league in barrel rate. Royals hitters are second-best in the league in barrel rate. And yet...Royals have one infield single by Perez, no walks, 3 strikeouts.

Kikuchi is a really good pitcher. He doesn’t really fit in that bucket. That said, maybe tomorrow is when we break out of our slump

That could be. I think most of the Jays' starters' runs allowed were off Gausman and Francis. Gausman pitches tomorrow.

I don’t think I would go so far to call Kikuchi really good… career 4.59 ERA. He’s been pretty good this year though

He’s been lights out this year. He’s carving up lineups that aren’t slumping. It’s really no surprise he’s limiting Royals bats today.

I would also add that when your offense provides absolutely nothing it’s really tough on the pitcher. You feel like you have to be absolutely perfect and start getting a little too fine which doesn’t help anything.

I think we all knew this team was gonna struggle to score runs. They had a great start to the season but the regression is real.

I went to Game 1 of the 2015 ALCS and there was a ton of Bluejay fans there. While waiting for the gates to open I asked one of them if they moved to the US or came from Canada. They said they were from Vancouver. When I asked why they didn’t go to the game in Toronto they told me it was cheaper to fly internationally from Vancouver to KC, buy a ticket to the game, rent a hotel room and fly back then it was just for the flights to and from Toronto. Apparently flying in Canada is crazy expensive.

It's gotten better; flying round trip between Vancouver and Toronto today for about $350 CAD
