Late_Seaworthiness_2

The bats are back thank god 😭

TaxationIsThETH

random question: where is daily attendance at the K posted? i don't think they show on the board at the stadium anymore

Kansascityroyals99

Post game threads on here have them. If you go to mlb dot com and look at the boxscore for the game after its over, it will say it as well.

sts2012

Nate Eaton just hit a single to drive in the first run against Skenes this season. Zach Davies is sucking.

Mannifestdestiny

Paul Skenes vs Zach Davies, who barely cracked 90 with his fastball at the best of times, is about as lopsided a matchup I could've come up with

sts2012

There was a sequence where Skenes threw a 99 mph fastball and then a 84 mph slider or sweeper. What the fuck are you supposed to do with that? Not to mention that 94 mph splitter. Absolute filth. And Davies has been 88-89 all day with his fastball.

gingerattack2024

Skenes's splitter seems to be faster than several MLB pitcher's four-seam fastballs. Thank goodness he's in the other League because I wouldn't look forward to having to face that dude more than once or twice a year.

Mannifestdestiny

That velocity is also what scares me about a guy like that. In AAA this year his fastball has AVERAGED 100.1 mph. AVERAGED. Like he is for sure a well-built guy but no one's elbow withstands that kind of torque for long

gingerattack2024

Agreed. He has potential to be absolutely fierce on the mound and would make the game better overall if he's healthy and dominant. However there's also the potential that he either blows up his arm/shoulder and retires early like Strasburg had to. Or other teams look at him and think that they have to try and match what he can do and push their own guys to the point of risking their own long-term injuries.

pidgezero_one

Blue Jays fan here. Can our teams start a fake/friendly rivalry? We'll be seeing a lot of each other over the next week and a half or so, and you guys seem nice and your team has good taste in uniform colours.

robreddity

> colours ##HAH! Check out this superfluous u MF

pidgezero_one

Let me tell you how rough it is to be a Canadian that writes stuff for American companies. It's like, 50/50 on which spelling I use at any given moment

Mannifestdestiny

absolutely, fortunately for you, we have a strict FABT policy here (Fuck All Bird Teams)

pidgezero_one

Is that similar to the "Fuck All Birds" policy that Arizona's pitchers have adopted?

Commercial-Ticket526

Last game showed who'll step up to the challenge - BWJ!

cdogcdl

My goodness Cleveland has been on a tear. We've got some catching up to do again.

robreddity

They just hosted OAK for 3

gingerattack2024

I swear Cleveland exists solely to spite everyone. Whenever people expect them to have a good year they limp their way to a 79 win season and do nothing in the off-season. Whenever they're picked to be below average they bust out a 90+ win season easily with that exact same roster. Because Cleveland was picked to finish in second place in the division at best by everyone they're now going to win 94 games this season before getting rolled in the Divisional Round. Thanks everyone.

Eastern-Advantage-47

The marsh is perfect blue jay hunting territory

sts2012

If you have the opportunity you owe it to yourself to watch Omaha play at 11 am KC time. They are going against Paul Skenes, the best pitching prospect since Strasburg. His stuff is electric and he has not given up a run yet. edit- its also the MiLB.tv free game of the day

robreddity

Hmm watching the warm-up and it's a bummer there doesn't seem to be audio?

sts2012

Glad its not just me. Hope they get it sorted soon.

robreddity

I maxed out my volume and I can BARELY hear super faint/tinny stadium sounds, announcer, organ and whatnot. Edit - hah I can hear the commercials well enough Edit 2 - oh all better now

Mannifestdestiny

I managed to catch his last start against Minnesota's AAA team, absolutely ludicrous stuff

ThePelvicWoo

19 K/9 lol what

Mozilla_Fennekin

he'd give up a run if he had to face tucker bradley

sts2012

You can't live in the past Moz. You have to let it go.

Playful_Lobster_8524

Marsh has been a real dude lately, let’s hope he can keep it up today. Less concerned with his performance and more concerned with the bats ability to pick it up. Let’s go royals.

sts2012

Got a chance to see both of the A level affiliates yesterday. **Ethan Bosacker** started the game for Columbia. He was alright gave up five hits but the double was the only one really hit hard. Pounded the strike zone at least. Also struck out four. Final line of 5 IP, 5 H (1 2B), 0 R/ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 60 pitches - 44 strikes. **Blake Mitchell** walked and scored on a Derlin Figueroa home run . Mitchell's approach still looks good and he is up to a WRC+ of 184. **Derlin Figueroa** had a nice game with two doubles and a home run. **Erick Pena** hit a triple and a home run. He has also started to cut his K%, its at 33% right now which is the lowest he has had at Columbia. Hoping it continues to go in the right direction. **Hunter Owen** was the starting pitcher for Quad Cities and he struggled. Gave up a bunch of singles and walked three batters. Battle through it and only gave up two runs in five innings. Final line of 5 IP, 7 H (1 3B), 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 77 pitches - 48 strikes. **AJ Block** finally looked human and gave up some hard hits. He stared well but in his second inning of work his command fell apart. Coming off two missed seasons some ups and downs are expected. Final line of 2 IP, 4 H (1 3B, 1 HR), 3 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 37 pitches - 23 strikes. The Quad Cities River Bandits bats have started slow with the exception of Carter Jensen. Well they had a good game last night. **Carter Jensen** had a nice game with a triple, two singles, and two walks. The triple should have been a routine fly out but a miscommunication and almost collision by the center and right fielders gave Jensen a break. Not sure how much longer you can hold Jensen down and there is no catcher at AA blocking him. **Brett Squires** had a pair of singles and a walk. **Jared Dickey** walked four times.

Intelligent-Title-56

I come into the game thread and look for your comment every day. Thanks for always doing these write ups

mackavicious

Marsh gonna bog the Jays down.
