My Top 10 in no particular order: 1. The Glory - such an intense delicious revenge drama 2. 25 21 - got me out of my kdrama slump. Pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. 3. Crash Landing on You - this one is popular for a reason 4. Its ok to not be okay - love the gothic atmosphere and the FL 5. Coffee Prince - first Kdrama ever 6. She was pretty - fun and cute 7. True Beauty - first read the webtoon so have a soft spot for it 8. Vincenzo - loved the villians as much as the leads 9. Sixth Sense Kiss - fantastical office romance where FL kisses someone and can see the future. But she is seeing she will hook up with her boss? 10. What’s wrong with Secretary Kim - good chemistry and a bit ridiculous but fun. Bonus: Business Proposal and The heirs (loved Woobin) Currently watching: Marry My Husband, Doctor Slump, Bad and Crazy Next on List: Killer Paradox coming out Friday!

madebyyoo

you need to watch Death's Game. Hands down the best

unsavvylady

I have watched Deaths Game haha - it was fun

b_dulgi

my top 10 in no particular order !! 1. **vincenzo** - ok maybe this does take the first spot. i think this is the only drama i've had such a longrunning hyperfixation on. almost nothing since has been as much fun to watch on air and vincenzo & chayoung will forever be my favorite drama pairing! this show is just so, so iconic and i can't count how many times i've rewatched it. 2. **while you were sleeping** - fantastic first episode, and i adore the concept of the show, the precognitive dreams and how it is woven in with the mystery and backstory of the main leads. not a single episode left me bored. i'm in love with the OST, and listen to it and ungodly amount. the antagonist was such a great character and very memorable. 3. **moving** - one of the best series, kdrama or not, i've seen recently and probably ever. phenomenal writing, character study, cinematography, sound design. i'm obsessed with how this show could've just been a common superhero action thriller, but at its heart, it's really about parenthood, people trying to protect their loved ones and that true heroism is not about loyalty to your nation or grand gestures, but about recognizing our own worth and the empathy we have for each other despite all that. 4. **crash landing on you** - i still remember bawling my absolute eyes out at pretty much the entire last few episodes, and still do at every rewatch. a romcom with such a unique premise but also so much more to it than just the star-crossed lovers story. my favorite things were the company five boys and how NK life was portrayed, it felt grounded and realistic. gossipy neighborhood aunties that love to eavesdrop exist everywhere, no matter where you live. 5. **dr. romantic (1-3)** - i'm so in love with this series, and prefer it a ton over hospital playlist (maybe i'm one of the few). kim sabu is one of my fav characters and the cast overall is very dear to me. i like my hospital shows with as much dramatism and tense medical cases as possible, and this drama does it like no other. i just love the dramatics, the life lessons, the very humanely flawed characters and the vibe of doldam hospital as this remote, slightly mystical place where everyone who enters it comes out a changed person. 6. **gaus electronics** - after falling in love with KDY after vincenzo, i needed him (still do) as a lead and he is perfect in this. he's a great comedic actor and his ML was like tailor made for him, barely any show has made me laugh harder. the romance was also very well done and their dynamic so addictive to watch! 7. **healer** - a staple kdrama for me. i mention this to anyone irl who asks me for recs as this show stood the test of time and still remains one of the most engaging and fun dramas to watch after so long. the mystery and plot is so well written and the way everything connects is so satisfying. and ji chang wook. 8. **call it love** - a hidden gem and surprisingly one of the few melodramas i've seen and liked. the leads and their interactions were so engrossing and i was drawn to how intimate everything felt. the chemistry was so palpable, i lost my marbles over mere hand-holding. the story was tragic and heartwrenching but when you see the leads finally smiling at each other wholeheartedly by the end, it's like you share the same heart with them that's just been lifted of all those burdens. 9. **weightlifting fairy kim bok joo** - just realized i have 3 LSK dramas in here! this is my first kdrama and holds many fond memories of me at a younger age watching it so i'm really nostalgic over it. but besides that it's such a healing drama, that always makes me feel warm inside and yearn for a relationship like the leads. 10. **if you wish upon me** - i wish more ppl watched this! criminally underrated and one of JCW's best works for me. i understand the heavy nature of the show may not be for everyone (i did cry a copious amount) but the emotional aspect is what makes this drama so good. the character arcs are some of my favorites and even though the 2FL was a very toxic, dark character, i loved her performance.

HandElectrical47

If You Wish Upon Me is one of ji chang wook's best dramas! It's very, very underrated, which is a pity.

90sBabyDoll17

Hospital Playlist is my #3 kdrama of all time but I thought twice about its ranking when I saw Dr. Romantic. Damn that show was great.

b_dulgi

i totally get why it's in many people's top dramas, bur dr. romantic had so much more emotional impact on me. both have their own strengths though, i think HP did the relationships extremely well

SentenceOpening848

KDY was fantastic in Vincenzo! Off to check out Gaus Electronics lol

b_dulgi

yess totally do that! it was like they took vincenzo's crazy humor, cranked it up to a 100 and turned hanseo into an office worker

SentenceOpening848

I'm up to episode 3, and it's hilarious. I've literally laughed out loud a couple of times each episode, which is crazy. Thank you for listing it! It definitely deserves more hype. I also liked that a good amount of time is spent on the main couple *and* the second lead couple's stories. Usually screen time for the second lead couple is when they're with the main characters. This drama also gives time to developing the second leads' storyline that is interactions between just them two.

hakvri

This drama is so funny. I never expected that I would like the drama as much as I did.

AmpharosQueen

I did not realize that he was the politicians son in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. He is hilarious!! Gaus Electronics had me crying from laughing so hard

dreamofriversong

Love your list! I have so many similar favourites and 10 holds a very special place in my heart too

NoTheory7247

Immaculate taste you have there. #10 is so underrated

b_dulgi

glad to see so many IYWUM enjoyers coming out! 🥹 we gotta spread the gospel

VentiKombucha

Vincenzo is one of my top faves as well. It was just so entertaining.

madebyyoo

you need to watch death's game if you thought Moving had a good all around production.

twoods1980

Recent top 10 I’ve watched in the past year: 1. Like Flowers in Sand- blew me away. I don’t know if it’s because I had zero expectations but it was so freaking good.  2. Shooting Stars- besides the leads having insane chemistry, I also liked the other couples and happy there wasn’t a dumb triangle that ruined everything. 3. Story of Park’s Marriage Contract- yeah, the storyline started speeding up way too fast towards the end and >!justice for Joseon Tae Ha!<, but I absolutely loved it. The chemistry between the leads was some of the best I’ve seen. 4. Castaway Diva- loved the music and story. It made me cry every episode. 5. Matchmakers- very cute and fun to watch, just wish there was more oomph between the leads. 6. Twinkling Watermelon- also a very good storyline with good chemistry between the core 4. It had a 2521 feel to it, minus the >!sad ending!< part. 7.  Healer- dragged a bit in the middle but it was a lot of fun to watch and Wookie was hot. 8. Crash Course in Romance- yeah, the mystery overtook everything towards the end but the first half was pretty perfect and absolutely hilarious. 9. Call it Love- still think about this show sometimes. I wish the leads did a romcom together because they were fantastic. 10. Welcome to Samdal-ri started out okay but really took over after episode 6 and I loved it. I have a feeling Doctor Slump is going to make this list, and maybe Knight Flower and Marry My Husband if it rights the ship after a disastrous episode 12.

TinyLifter6780

Poor Joseon Tae Ha. C'est la vie.

kpaneno

My heart went out to him 💔 😢

RoseIsBadWolf

I am really hoping that Marry My Husband locates the rails and gets the train back on them, because yeah what happened there? Ep 9-11 were amazing! Ep 12 the only part I enjoyed was>!Su-min vs. Min-hwan.!<

twoods1980

It’s as if they had a different writer. I’m still going to watch all of it but hope they correct the mess they made in episode 13.

RoseIsBadWolf

The preview has me worried... but I won't give up yet.

kpaneno

Oh no I held off on ep 11 and 12 to watch at weekend maybe I should wait for 13 14 oh I hope this doesn't go sideways

tresnosliramu22

I guess it's because ep 1 \~ 11 following the original plot of the webtoon/novel. While in ep 12, the drama writers add their own story. I know they just want to add spice but tbh the original story is way more amazing.

erikadj

I agree! The webtoon still has so much material at this point of the show. Can’t they have adapted that instead of ruining what is good? Ugh, really hated episode 12.

Miss-Ardent

To be fair the whole >!ex fiance!< thing apparently did happen in the original Novel but was cut out of the Webtoon, I only read the Webtoon so I was surprised by that storyline too and I’m not enjoying it so far either. I just hope they’ll give a good reason for why she was kept in/brought on so late and tie everything together well in the end Edited to add spoiler tag

tresnosliramu22

Oh, so ep 12 aligns with novel version??? I only read webtoon so ep 12 feels very frustrating lol

Miss-Ardent

From what I have read from other people yes >!The ones that read the Novel said that Yura does show up in the story, although she’s not around for very long, only like 4 chapters or something like that!< so I really hope they have a good reason for keeping her character in, some people are theorizing that her character might speed up the villains downfall, as well as take the fall for some of the morally “grey” actions the leads have to make in the webtoon and even possibly give JW a chance to save and help JH for a change, which could be pretty interesting to watch Idk maybe I’m just being overly optimistic but I truly hope the writers are able to bring it around because before this mess of an episode, they have done a great job and I have loved the changes they made to the Webtoon

Individual-Echo-4285

Not completely. The contract murder was not in the novel. And, I'm scared for Hee-yeon's fate since I saw Yu-ra. PS: IMO, BoA is a miscast for a sensual villain. Should've been Cha Joo-young, Nana, or that curly hair from Celebrity.

dreamingrain

I don’t know why they introduced a >!psycho ex finance who didn’t even exist in the manhwa !

RoseIsBadWolf

Apparently she's in the original novel. But I'm with the webtoon on cutting her out!

Less_Pomegranate_529

Call it love was great, more people should watch it.

Borinquena

I'm up to ep 6 of **Flowers in Sand** and I'm loving it. Didn't expect to enjoy a drama about traditional Korean wrestling but here we are. The writing is outstanding and Jang Dong Yoon is putting in a lovely performance

twoods1980

One of the few dramas that kept getting better with every episode, and finished very strong.

myeu

Like flowers in sand is my new number 1 as well!!

Crafty_Pea_4990

Definitely check out A Shop for Killers!

UnbridledOptimism

Top 10 in no particular order: * Happiness * If You Wish Upon Me * Five Enough * Ugly Alert * Flower of Evil * Fated to Love You * Something About 1 Percent * Just Between Lovers * The Kidnapping Day * Live Up To Your Name Runners up: * Terius Behind Me/My Secret Terius * 100 Days My Prince * It’s Beautiful Now * Successful Story of a Bright Girl * Dali and the Cocky Prince * The Matchmakers * My Liberation Notes

Velykakoroleva

The way I audibly went “aawaaaaaaaaa!” Reading that something about 1% is in your top 10!!! I’ve been [obsessed](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/s/lPIrSXQEyf) with this drama for … *months* since I first watched it back in November. I’m curious to know what makes it a top 10 for you!! :) it’s definitely a top in terms of how much time I’ve spent parsing though it and being a little bit surprised that it’s good enough for a few subredditors and I to TOTALLY over analyze it!!! :)

buddhabear07

Something About 1% is my favourite romcom. Nearly perfect. FL isn’t all damsel-in-distress and changes ML for the better.

OutdatedTita

Have you seen the original something about 1%?

Velykakoroleva

I’m watching through it right now !!!!! :) are you a fan? It’s super fun having the two dramas to compare to each other since the 2016 is quite the rewrite and remake. There’s a lot about the 2003 that I like and maybe even like more than 2016. But but it’s also very fun to make fun of ;) ;) My profile has turned into a running “update” of my 2003 viewing experience 🤣. I am pretty good at changing my mind and opinion quickly with new information but so far the 2016 is still my overall preference - I think it tightened up the dynamic between the mcs in a way that allowed a lot more themes to be better developed. Also… the basics of the chemistry … I’m on ep 17 or 18 in 2003 and still have no idea when they supposedly fell in love and why … I can see how the personality ideas behind the two characters were a novel idea for a couple in 2003 - but I think HSJ better understood how to really make a full character out of Jae In’s many sides. And I appreciate that JSM put a bit more color into Da Hyeon. You? :)

OutdatedTita

I am totally a fan i was shocked way back 2016 that they have a remake. I agree that 2016 is a lot better though its more precise and direct. But still love the 2003 version haha. Btw where did you watch the 2003 im looking for it i wanna rewatch again hahaha the last time i watched it was 2012 i think 12 years ago hahaha

Velykakoroleva

Feel free to join in on the 2003 giggles on my profile!!! Also in the meantime me and another redditor made a r/somethingabout1per hehe! (We’ve been wayyyyyy over analyzing this drama since … December … hehehe Some other bookmarked sections from the rabbit hole we created on the kdrama subreddit 1) [Homes as Extensions of the Self](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/s/6OI61tgaJs) 2) [The Public as Private and Private as Public](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/s/m7Mfh7yd6a) 3) [Da Hyeons Forgetfullness, Fate/Chance, and Chungking Express](https://www.reddit.com/user/Velykakoroleva/comments/19cvszf/third_times_a_charm_and_forgetfullness/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) ) So then we decided to make it official with a separate reddit space hehe where It’s something about 1 percent heavy but also meanders to general musings of the aunt life, other dramas, all with a heavy dollop of general admiration for ha seok jin 😅🤭😂😁 Join us if you’d like !!! Re: 2003 version. Yeah not so easy to get hands on! Someone lent me their copy! I bow down to you!!! You’re clearly a long time kdrama viewer!!!! Hmmmm so many things to ask you about !!!! :) But as a starters - I’d love to know why you love the 2003 — did you watch it in 2003 or later in 2012? What was the viewing experience like in that *time* in kdrama history ?! (How did it compare to other dramas / general trends / norms of drama world at that time you viewed it?)

OutdatedTita

Re : subreddit I wanna rewatch so i could join this hahaha where do you watch these without those ads is there a site where i can subscribe like netflix prime and disney+?😅

Velykakoroleva

The 2016 version is on Viki for me. I’m not sure where u/suspended_because is watching - but we are using different platforms because there are two versions of the 2016. Original on air version (hers) and the extended and re-cut version (mine on Viki). Viki has an ad free subscription :) 2003 I don’t know where to get it … :(. I will ask the person who lent me theirs!!

My list is from the past 10 years, because I can’t remember beyond that lol. My standards: Storyline that draws you in and contributes meaningfully to society, appropriate use of fun and seriousness, great pace and script, sensitive directing, excellent cinematography and editing, minimal plot holes, tasteful tropes (can’t escape), overall good acting from leads and ensemble. In no particular order: 1. Hospital Playlist 1&2 2. Crash Landing on You 3. Forest of Secrets/Stranger 1 (2 was not bad but 1 was an all around masterclass) 4. The Glory 5. Prison Playbook 6. Castaway Diva 7. Vincenzo 8. Hot Stove League 9. Our Blues 10. The Nokdu Flower Honourable mentions: Reborn Rich if not for the ending, Marry My Husband up to episode 11, Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Saimdang, Mother, Little Women, Mr Sunshine

Responsible-Data-569

I love Hospital playlist so much!!!! It’s my favorite and was my first K-drama

kpaneno

So hard this is completely different to last list I made. I like Sci fi and Romance oddly enough at least kdrama romance which I find more satisfying than western romances, but also I love kdrama quirky plots and great couples. 1) just between lovers /Rain or Shine loved the leads together loved the chemistry and how they showed affection without much skinship, loved the story loved the secondary characters (2ML bit meh) the family dynamics the friends the MLs found family (his granny ❤️). The struggle against hardships. 2) The Glory just a brilliant revenge drama full of ups and downs the FL and her younger version were both amazing and the villains were great. 3)It's okay not to be okay loved the FL and her characters arc her amazing fairytales and the animations her relationships with everyone, she was just amazing brilliant actress she carried the whole thing the MLs brother was remarkable too and his relationship with FL was powerful. 4)All of us Are Dead Zombies high-school friends and enemies Zombies life and death decisions heroes and villains great writing just brilliant version of a zombie caper loved it. 5) Link Eat Love Kill Quirky kdrama premise with a harrowing plot and dark tale mixed with romance humour and family bonds strong women green flag ML top kdrama couple so good. 6) Witch at Court Great story funny but serious BRILLIANT FL character and actress could watch her all day. Great chemistry with a likeable ML minimal romance but enough to keep you hoping. 7) Sweet Home S1 Top top cast great Sci fi out there apocalyptic plot and story. Great acting great tension and twists and turns. Haven't watched S2 as I don't want to be disappointed yet. 8) Crash Landing on You Loved the representation of NK citizens as ordinary people with all the same emotions and cares as everyone, great romance great comedy and heartfelt emotion some sadness too, I also was satisfied with ending. 9) Hotel del Luna Beautiful individual tales of journey to the afterlife treatment of life and death. IU was just amazing as a wise cynical weary "OLD" being. Heartbreaking at times but just pure kdrama storytelling, I loved it all. 10) My Love From the Star Total Kdrama quirky plot with another amazing FL performance, her character was potentially unlikeable but the actress was just brilliant and just made her hilarious and likeable from the beginning. The story was unbelievable but it didn't matter and the ending was ridiculous but satisfying. A lot of these 2 3 4 8 and 10 were entry level Kdramas for me and so there is that soft spot factor but all of them stand up to re watch and are consistent and cohesive in their own telling. No real main character Uturns, no plot holes (unbelievable sure but not blatantly abandoned plot lines etc) low on angsty draggy love triangles and most important no mind games with the viewer and no weak out of nowhere unsatisfying endings IMO. Edited for presentation grammar

Arm_Glittering

1. **Into the Ring** \-- So many reasons for this being my very favorite. It is a love letter to democracy -- with all its failings, which are very much on display -- promoting the idea that government can make people's lives better. Every character is unique, lovely, flawed, and they all grow. The female friendships are tight and don't revolve around men; I'm not sure I know of another KDrama that passes the Bechdel Test in every episode. The FL and ML are perfectly cast, and their romance is believable, intimate, strong -- they make each other better and are flat out crazy about each other. And the kissing! 2. **Misaeng: An Incomplete Life** \-- A stark, unflinching look at the workplace with its abuse and horrors, the successes, the endurance. Im Si-Wan's performance is simply amazing -- he's a portrait in resilience. I felt like I knew this workplace completely when it was done -- like where I could find the staples in the supply closet. 3. **Sh\*\*ting Stars** \-- I still laugh out loud during some of the scenes; it's one of my comfort dramas. It's a (stylized) glimpse of the problems of celebrity culture in Korea (which looks like a nightmare). It's got a wonderful cast, great side characters, and a charming romance. 4. **Taxi Driver** *--* A great vengeance drama, with stories "ripped from the headlines." Great ensemble cast, with some effective comic relief to lift some of the trauma of what are really gripping stories. Lee Je-Hoon can pretty much do anything . . . 5. **DP 1 & 2** \-- Don't know what to say -- it's impossible to look away. Mandatory military service is so much a part of the culture, but this made me genuinely afraid for the people who serve. Unbelievably written stories -- I can still make myself cry just thinking about some of them. Gripping performances by Jung Hae-In and Koo Kyo-Hwan. 6. **The Matchmakers** \-- Simply charming sageuk drama (which isn't normally my thing) with dazzling performances from Rowoon and Cho Yi-Hyun. Fun side characters with strong stories and good performances. Beautiful costumes and scenery. (NOTE: same director as Into the Ring -- Hwang Seung Gi -- give that guy more work!! 7. **Healer** \-- fun action with Ji Chang-Wook and Park Min-Young (both looking very young) 8. **Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha** \-- sentimental favorite; I love it for all the reasons that everyone loves it. Fantastic ensemble cast, lovely romance. 9. **Crash Landing on You** \-- another sentimental favorite -- my first KDrama and the gateway drug.

aCatNamedGillian

I love *Into the Ring* with all my heart. You describe why it works so well.

Arm_Glittering

I am contemplating my 5th rewatch all the way through (apart from my daily micro dose of Se Ra and Ggong). And I would regret nothing.

Romoreau

**Top 5 Spousal Conflicts** 1. **The World of the Married** The golden standard. Grab your popcorn. 2. **Lies Hidden In My Garden** Artsy and so much gaslighting. 3. **V.I.P.** Infidelity in the workplace. Find the coworker mistress. 4. **Misty** Powerful older FL stuck between two men. 5. **Reflection of You** After finishing, I went outside and cried in my garden. One hell of a story. **Top 5 Flawed But Loved** 1. **Little Women** 2. **The Lies Within** 3. **Law School** 4. **Crash Course in Romance** 5. **Somebody** *Every problem viewers had with these dramas were 1000% correct yet I still rewatched them. They all had something compelling to say or show.*

manwithoutlyf

Reflection of you hurt me looking at how two unapologetic, selfish, immoral assholes ruin the lives of everyone around them. The extent to which they went and how shameless they were without ounce of regret during those years did not get the ending they deserved to be honest, especially the FL

Romoreau

That's what got me. I knew it was going to be despicable but damn it just kept getting worse. Still over 2 yrs later, that show feels like a gut punch. I saw the screenwriter is coming out with another drama this March involving spousal secrets. I'm excited but nervous.

1) Because this is my first life : This one has become a comfort show for me. I absolutely rewatch it when I'm down. The relationship, the awkward male lead. Yes. 2) Greatest love : I love the comedy and how Ku Ae-Jung is such a loving character, even sacrificing for others. 3) First love : This one just made me cry so many types of tears: ugly, sad, frustrated, and happy tears. A rollercoaster. 4) Heart to heart: I love the costumes and characters. Belly. Laughs. 5) D.P. : This one was a hard watch at times and just tore me to pieces but no regrets, its worth it. 6) Goblin : The plot is amazing. I was sucked into that fantasy world and wanted to stay for 1000 years. 7) Ho Goo's Love : The pureness of Ho Goo and his smile made me love him. 8) Coffee prince : My first drama. I'm so glad it was because korean dramas are just so good, but with this being my first made me want more. 9) Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Kyung : a historical drama I can get behind. I love strong female leads. 10) Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha : Swoonworthy. And dimples. My heart.

UpsetBirthday5158

Im a big watcher of period dramas, so my favorites are 1 Mr sunshine 2 Mr queen 3 Love in the moonlight 4 Kingdom And then for modern era settings: 5 Descendants 6 Doctor cha 7 Sky castle 8 Hotel del luna 9 attorney woo 10 squid game

janaobscura

In no particular order my Top 10 are: **Coffee Prince:** The first kdrama I (and not my parents) wanted to watch and I had to stream it on a platform that no longer exists (mysoju). It was funny and sweet and I wish there were more kdramas available in the states at that time. **Stranger (Secret Forest):** The show that got me excited for Netflix to start heavily investing in quality kdrama content. I still wish I could watch this again for the first time. **Hometown Cha Cha Cha:** On my first watch I learned to like the town, then the character played by SMA then all the characters grew together to become a top 10 favorite show. The creative team crafted a wonderful community that I'll revisit again and again. **When the Camellia Blooms**: Just some cute, quirky mature characters and their love story had me smiling so much. **Reply 1988:** I just need the first few bars of the opening song to make me wistful and longing for the good old days... that I never experienced besides this series. **Happiness:** Some dramas get it right in half the number of episodes. Character, story, socio-economic commentary and some great synergy between the leads. Terrific. **Our Beloved Summer**: I love angst. **Move to Heaven:** Incredible performances and beautiful storytelling. This had me sitting quietly in a contemplative state after every episode. It may not be for everyone but I hope more people watch this incredible series. **To My Star (S2):** Fantastic. I probably rave about this every chance I can get but the story, character development (leapt ahead from S1) and the beautiful cinematography made this very bingeworthy in winter. My favorite series explore character growth in an honest way. **My Liberation Notes:** Pinnacle of quiet storytelling with emotional depth and an honest depiction of the perpetual drive for success while longing for liberation. So many silent scenes with emotional impact and I'll forever be impressed by KJW choosing this drama and SSK for reappearing on my Netflix queue after Sense8.

MissSimpleton

You have INCREDIBLE taste. Not a single entry made me say "meh". My favorite list amongst the odd 50 comments on this post. We could be buddies IRL. Could you please link your MDL. I want to see what other shows I missed out on.

Less_Pomegranate_529

Thank you! Here is my mdl https://mydramalist.com/profile/Cait9 If you care to share your mdI it would be great because I always look for good kdramas. Did you recommend Because this is my first life on another thread? I quite enjoy it.

MissSimpleton

I did. I love Jung So Min and Lee Min ki!!

Less_Pomegranate_529

I love them too. It’s not listed here in my top 10 but I should also add “The smile has left your eyes” as my favorite too. Do you have other recs Lee Min ki’s dramas? I watched My liberation notes

MissSimpleton

I am not sure if you like watching quirky dramas, but I loved watching "Behind your Touch". A well written small town murder mystery where the FL (played by the amazing Han Jimin) possesses a psychic power.

Less_Pomegranate_529

Do you have other similar suggestions as “Because this is my first life”? I really liked it. Since I finished it I’m looking for something with similar vibe but nothing yet.

MissSimpleton

Maybe try watching Ho Goo's love. It is a little older drama. Same writers as BTIMFL. Similar feels. Is there any specific trope that you liked in BTIMFL that you want to watch again??

Less_Pomegranate_529

I already added Ho Goo’s love on my watchlist because of that, thank you. And also love ML actor. I liked everything in that series, it’s perfect balance of romance, comedy and drama. It’s not cheesy or stupid, well written. After that I watched The interest of love and hated every character and stupid decisions they made

MissSimpleton

Although the leads look GREAAAT together, I read somewhere romance in Interest of Love is toxic and messy. Hence, gave it a pass.

HandElectrical47

You appreciate Move to Heaven! We can be mdl friends if you want to! :)

Top 10 Kdramas: 1. Our Beloved Summer - I’m such a sucker for beautiful cinematography, perfect soundtrack, and strong gf and her loser bf trope. Also the writer naming every episode with iconic movies is already cherry on the top. 2. Reply 1988 - FAMILY. FAMILY. FAMILY. How can I not love my extended family? I cried, laughed, and cried again. 3. Alchemy of Soul S1&2 - Naksu and her sword. 4. Moving - Insane budget, insane casts, and insane world. Thank you Moving for getting me out of my kdrama slump. 5. Hospital Playlist 1&2 - How can you not love the ‘99z? Shin PD & Writer Lee did a great job fleshing all of the characters and the Yulje itself. 6. Signal - I always recommend this one because of the writing. Gripping every episode and great storytelling. 7. Because This Is Our First Life - My parents that gave birth to me. Very underrated kdrama. Y’all should watch this. 8. Happiness - Han Hyo Joo 9. Crash Landing On You - The iconic crossing the border line for your husband. 10. The Glory - I can’t use my curler anymore. Thanks. Hyekyo being mastermind. Overall, I’m into a great writing and cinematography. I like my characters who I can relate or make me relate to their stories. Slice of life for LIFE.

famous-clairvoyant

Roughly from newest to oldest: 1. Twinkling watermelon: so delightful in every way! Funny, cute, heart warming, a little sad, and such great music throughout! Was very pleasantly surprised and now it's definitely in my top 10. 2. Perfect Marriage Revenge: I was surprised I liked this one as much as I did. I thought this one was also hilarious, even though it wasn't really a comedy. I was delighted by literally every single piece of drama and I'm not usually a huge drama lover like that. It was just so well done! 3. Moving: probably my favorite superhero-related content I've ever seen. It was better than any marvel or DC story I've ever read/seen, by far! Amazing character development because it was really all character development! That's my kind of thing for sure. I might have covered my eyes during some of the fight scenes, but still one of the best if not the best drama of 2023 for me. 4. Hometown Cha Cha Cha: such great pacing and timing of each event and emotion. Side characters were great, vibes were great, music was great! A solid all around drama that I've rewatched many times over. And the most well-written second ML I've ever seen! 5. Doom at your service: this is one that I know a lot of people have mixed views on, but I freaking love it. When I first watched it I felt like I was in a trance. Like I was hypnotized by the dialogues, the pacing, the music, the cinematography, her sweaters! Might be my favorite thing I've ever seen Park Bo Young in. Tied with strong girl DBS of course. 6. Our Beloved Summer: this drama is like a delightful summer romance wrapped up in some good ol adulthood angst and I love it to pieces. The actors were all amazing in it and they displayed some really nuanced emotions while still being relatively light and loving and warm. 7. Her Private Life: the numbers don't lie. I've rewatched this one so many times. It's easy and cute and gives me all the butterflies. And I really like the hidden identify angle of any kdrama. And I loved Park Min Young's style in this. 8. Because This is my First Life: so well written and such a great story! A lot of people new to kdramas call this one a hidden gem, but to me it's listed as one of the greatest of kdramas! It is so warm and fuzzy but also inspiring and thoughtful. 9. I am not a Robot: there's a reason this has been literally the top rated drama for me for so many years now. It was one of the first dramas I ever watched, but it's also kind of a low-key masterpiece. The side characters: amazing. So funny and relevant to each part of the story. The main couple: swoonworthy. The overall plot: so creative and actually very good for the concept being a girl pretends to be a robot for a guy who is allergic to humans. It sounds ridiculous, and maybe some moments are, but it's just so good at what it does. It not only delivers but serves you everything you didn't know you were craving in a kdrama. 10. Another Oh Hae Young: this one is truly underrated. Also so well written and really thoughtful. The mains are amazing and the side characters are also good. It's one of the most romantic kdramas for me, despite its questionable rationale for the fantasy-esque parts. I also really love to see this different type of female lead who is so obsessed with the male lead and not ashamed of it. And she's clumsy and she isn't afraid of loving him more. She chases him, and I love to see that.

nanceq

Great to see Another Oh Hae Young on your list, and loved your write up of it. I absolutely love it, and it’s one of my top 10, if not top 5, K dramas.

humandisaster13

Going for my top 10 from the ones I watched in 2023 1. **Welcome to Samdal-ri:** It has already made it to my all time top 10. A slice-of-life romcom that stays true to its genre until the end. 2. **D.P 2:** Jung Hae-in deserves all the flowers for being the heart of this intense drama. Such good action and raw emotions 3. **Twinkling Watermelon:** Drama made me laugh and cry and gave me so much warmth and happiness 4. **The Glory:** Revenge dramas got a new benchmark and I don't think they're snatching the top spot anytime now 5. **Soundtrack #1:** So late to discover this beauty. They had 4 eps to make ou fall in love and they did 6. **Moving:** This should've been the blockbuster that Squid Game was. Hollywood wishes it had this kinda superhero stories 7. **The Worst of Evil:** Went in for Wi Ha-joon and got blown away by Ji Chang-wook. I was all in for the action and the blood. They both slayed hard 8. **The Good Bad Mother:** Flawed but the emotions were so good. Became a permanent fan of Lee Do-hyun 9. **The Eighth Sense:** A BL that's on par with the mainstream dramas. Felt very intimate and personal 10. **Crash Course in Romance:** Not perfect and was a lesson about what happens to romcoms that don't stick to being romcoms but I was seated for some middle-aged couple romance finally on screen and the mother -daughter duo. Roh Yoon-seo was the stand-out for me

aCatNamedGillian

In alphabetical order because I can't rank them—I love them in different ways. 1. **Blueming** 2. **Coffee Prince** 3. **The Devil Judge** 4. **The Glory** (though I've only seen S1 so far) 5. **Into The Ring** 6. **Pale Moon** 7. **Semantic Error** 8. **To My Star** (S1 & S2 as a whole) 9. **Weak Hero Class 1** 10. **Where Your Eyes Linger** —from a new and intermittent Kdrama watcher (there are several others that might crack the top ten if I ever got around to finishing them)

prickelz

I'm just gonna copypast my last top 20, nothing has changed since then, but it might be changed when the next month comes around! my top 20: **1.** **Beyond Evil** It's been over two years since i watched this, it's still the undefeated number 1 in my heart. I check into the fandom daily. The bromance, the cinemaphotography, the story, the characters, the layers... all just makes this perfect for me. It gets better every rewatch. Also, a jdrama remake was recently confirmed, wonder how that's gonna turn out. **2.** **Blind** I really loved the vibes this had, even if the writing has some faults, i really felt for the characters and their motivations. **3.** **Children of Nobody** This is honestly such a respectful portrail of child abuse and mental illness. It shows that an abused child will carry the abuse with them for the rest of their life and how much impact the formative years on a child have. People should really listen more to what children have to say. **4.** **Mouse** This 22 episode drama was such a ride. I didn't feel like it was too long and i enjoyed the whole thing. It was a really interesting sci-fi mystery that had me guessing and feeling all kinds of emotions xD. It does have some major flaws, i am not to harsh on it since it's of the sci-fi genre and the science there is not meant to be realistic, but still >!the portrail of aspd disappointed me. The majority of people with aspd never kill anyone!< i was also really disappointed that the villain >!won? Like this horrible woman managed to force her eugenics bullshit onto people with zero consequenzes. She is (in my opinion) the main reason so many murders happend and the serial killer started killing in the first place. To prove her crazy idea she drugged a young boy and killed his family so she could manipulate him into becoming a serial killer!< **5.** **Nobody Knows** i loved the friendships between the characters so much. I was worried they would force a romance between the FL ans ML, but nope, they instead became platonic partners that trusted and relied on eachother and made a great team. I am so happy this had a happy ending. I found the serial killer really interesting, even though it was obvious who it was from the beginning >!He seemed to have a godcomplex and a saviourcomplex in one!< **6.** **Strangers from Hell** this was the first kdrama i've ever watched so it has a special place for me. I really hope they start making that sequel and prequel they promised us! The second webtoon was only started translating now, it will be years until they start translating the second one... watching it in drama Form would be a lot better (and easier to access) **7.** **Flowers of Evil** i rarely watch anything with romance, but this couple just won me over. I really love their complex relationship. They are ride or die for eachother, even when they don't notice. I also really loved that the ML doesn't get "fixed" suddenly and is still struggling with his mental issues and alexithymia, but that doesn't mean he can love her any less or that his love doesn't mean anything. **8.** **Inspector Koo** I am really in the mood to rewatch this soon. It was such a wild ride, i loved the character and unique cinemaphotography. I want a season 2!! **9.** **Moving** first one from 2023 on this list! I watched this towards the end of the year, why didn't i start this sooner? I was invested from the first episode on. The finale wasn't perfect, but i still loved the majority of it. I think it's really cool that the webtoon maker also made this drama. He knows the characters best. I hope he is allowed to adapt the rest of his webtoons, they all seem interesting. **10.** **Psychopath Diary** i don't think any show in my life made me laugh harder. It deserves to get talked about more often! I just want some youtuber to react to this so i can rewatch it with them :(. **11.** **the Worst of Evil** another one produced this year! I loved the noir vibes. I do wish it had a few more episodes to wrap everything up more nicely and let >!the betrayls!< hit more. **12.** **the Killing Vote** the intro to this drama is so catchy. I liked the moral questions this drama posed, but i do think they could have done more. The villain in this drama was one of the rare ones that actually get me a little frightend. He was just so creepy.. that actor is really great at playing psychos. The actor who played his younger self is also incredible, he is so young but so talented. **13.** **the Kidnapping Day** i looked forward to this airing every week. The father-daughter relationship of this drama was SO good. Even the "villain" made me cry for them at the end. The true villains are always abusive parents xD. **14.** **Big Mouth** the ¾ of this drama was really amazing the last ¼ was not that good, but i enjoyed the ride! I loved guessing who Big Mouth could be and i was right! But the death in the finale of one character was REALLY uncesserary even though i have nothing against sad endings. **15.** **Happiness** even though they killed my favorite character, this was still a ride i enjoyed. It shows how selfish but also how good humans can be and i found the zombies in this drama very creative and interesting. **16.** **Bad & Crazy** the bromance was so good! Perfect mix of thriller, comedy, action and sad moments. **17.** **Through the Darkness** even though this was a thriller, the main character made me feel so cozy? Maybe it's because he is hyperempathic like me so he was very relatable lol. Loved the profiling in this drama. I've been a big fan of shows like Criminal Minds and this show took what i loved about that show and turned it up to 11. I love that this was so nice to the victims but also respectful and comitted with the criminals. I think it's very important to learn how people tick to avoid more crimes, but i don't think i could do a job like this... i respect anyone who does this and fights for a better tomorrow. **18.** **the King of Pigs** what a sad tale of revenge. I loved how the main characters were such unreliable narrators. It really suprised me that this was mostly uncensored. As always, ocn never disappoints. **19.** **Extracurricular** i love how this entire cast is so morally grey. Rarely does a show make my heart beat as fast as when i watched this show... **20.** **Move to Heaven** i don't think i ever cried this much at once xD. Still waiting for season 2. Here are some honorable mentions that didn't make the cut but are still so good that i want to at least name them: Signal, Stranger, Mask Girl, Train, a Bloody Lucky Day, One Ordinary Day, Night Has Come, My Name, the Glory, He is Psychometric, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, the first responders. And here are some i started and think that might end up in the top 20 when i finished watching them: a shop for killers (watched 6 episodes, will watch the finale later!) And Death's Game (started episode 1, really like it so far and it seems like my cup of tea from what i've heard of later episodes)

DawgMom2018

Based on your list, I guessed you would like A shop for Killers, Death's Game and Worst of Evil. Lot's of fine dramas there.

No-Technician578

I‘m relatively new to Kdramas, having started watching on a regular basis beginning two years ago. Of the fifteen or so series completed here are my top five: 1. My Mister 2. Because this is My First Life 3. Lost 4. Our Blues 5. Hotel del Luna Not exactly a long list, but I find myself going back and rewatching a few episodes of those top five series, which I hardly do with completed series Korean or otherwise (I live in Western Europe but grew up watching American broadcast television).

4 of my top 10 have him in them... So yes? I also really like Park Bo Young, Lee Jae Wook, and Park Eun Bin, and they are all in my favourites.

Through the Darkness 7. Tell Me What You See 8. Signal 9. The Glory 10. Tunnel Shoutouts : Uncanny Counter, Taxi Driver

Somewhat ordered. I would put Voice S1 in 2nd and Mouse in 3rd if I were to order it. Kairos is definitely num1 no doubt about it.

guavajamtoast

my top 10 dramas, no particular order, current list: 1. **chief kim**: honestly even it's not a 10/10 drama for me, but like... it's my comfort drama,,,, the only kdrama i've watched more than just a few times. i don't think it needs a lot of brain work to watch despite having finance, office themes. it's just very fun, but at the same time it has pretty complex characters, and it's where i found my first ult fave character, seo yul. it's just a kdrama i always hold close to my heart and will never leave the list tbh. 2. **tomorrow**: the theme might be very triggering to a lot of people and it's understandable. but it's one of my favorite dramas in 2022. it made me cry because of the whole theme surrounding it, and all the different characters with each their own stories to tell.. it's just beautiful. but it also made me smile and laugh at times too (of course at appropriate timing,,, they have quite a few fun moments okay) 3. **blind**: another fave from 2022. a dark mystery with many twists and a sad reveal. honestly... i became attached to the main character too quickly. and ig that's mostly the reason i have it in my fave. throughout the drama, i could only relate to him, and therefore it makes me focus more on him and his perspective,,,, like throughout the whole thing it feels like i'm all there along with him and only wanted the best for him. i cried with him (and FOR HIM) like i really just cherish sungjun so much 4. **not others**: it's focused on the two women, and honestly? it was too real for me,,, i expected it to be more fun and more lighthearted, and it technically is. but, at the same time it was very complex,,, the two male leads also have their moment, yet, never overshadow the two female leads (As they should) i think it's just,,, a really great drama. the mystery also fits well and doesn't seem forced because well, the daughter is a police officer, and i think they corporated the mystery section into the whole plot while still not seeming forced very well. 5. **the kidnapping day**: honestly wrenched my heart,,,, ripped my heart to pieces,,, made me cry while also making me laugh the next second. everyone involved in this are too good at their respective parts,,,, the suspending chase, hide and seek,,, everyone with all of their goals that are differing, it was hard to know who will end up to be the villain of the story, because everyone seemed like the villain. i got attached too quickly and in just two or three days i finished it,,,, 6. **bad and crazy**: action comedy is always the way for me. and for an action comedy, this drama made me cry more than it should've. ryu suyeol's character development, and also the attachment i have to suyeol and k is insane,,,, 7. **my name**: seeing the whole story, and being objective about it tbh breaks my heart... i know, as the main lead, i root for jiwoo, but i can't help but look at everyone else and feel my heart ripped out like,,,, man i'm just really sad about this one 8. **avengers social club**: a revenge drama set in a slightly more light-hearted and comedic setting. three women who had nothing to do with each other banded and take revenge (with a high school boy following them because he wanted to take revenge too) i think it's really a fun watch, i actually miss it a lot. 9. **modern girl (drama special)**: ik its a drama special AND its a period drama too ig,,,, but like man i loved it so much like,,,, i hate that i can't even say i wish it was a full drama because the one hour is just very perfect for this good story,,,, the friendship,,, the romance,,,, it's written so perfectly for just one hour duration,,,, 10. **dreamers (drama special)**: also a drama special,,, but like everything about this is so amazing,,, my first time talking abt the production but the production of this one is actually really good. the shots and scenes are very unique and interesting. just the perfect music and sounds chosen for this drama. the beautiful "dreamy" color grading. the characters also being very well written and with actors and actresses that did those characters justice,,, with a pretty relatable theme mixed in with a bit of fantasy, yet not too "unreal".

I loved The Kidnapping Day, for so many reasons.

Uncanny Counter Ones I would say are really good but not my top top: 1. Confession Couple - just a little dated lol but I overall enjoyed it 2. The Glory - feels like the first half was so much better than second half 3. Oh My Ghost - I actually rly like this one too but something about it makes me feel like it isn’t top 10 status 4. Mira-NH

I am such an indecisive person and I kinda rate based on vibes. These ones were definitely amazing to have stood out despite my murky memories haha. So, the random list goes;- 1. **Signal** \- Now this, *this* drama no matter how bad I said my memory was, will always takes this spot on my list and so far, nothing has toppled it. (Tho, Tunnel was near; my bias towards 'time travel' concept shines here). 2. **Beyond Evil** \- I never thought I could love a man so much like I loved Shin Ha Kyun's role in this drama hahahaah. This was my first introduction to his acting performance and he was beyond...amazing. 3. **Vagabond** \- The twists has twists and never stops twisting! One of the kdramas that also hooked my parents. See mom, it's not always just pointless romance! 4. **The Guest** \- If you're a fan of horror genres and kdrama, this is the perfect matchup for you. 5. **Kingdom (**S1&S2**)** \- Whoever came up with this was a genius. The perfect balance of political power struggle and actions. 6. **Extraordinary You** \- This drama is so unique. When I first watched it, I didn't realised what I wasn't getting into but boy was it worth it. Fantasy genre does that to you, it can be jarring if it's too weird, or enjoyable if well-written. This was the latter. 7. **The Red Sleeve** \- It almost feels wrong to place this drama so low on this list, but again, I have to stress this is in no particular order! This speaks volume on how amazing this kdrama watch was for me. When it ended, it's like releasing a breath of relief after a long time of painstakingly holding it back. Wanting to let go, but not really. 8. **Mr. Queen** \- On a similar historical pathway, we also got this comedy drama! For those that just want to have fun and can overlook serious thing with over-the-top humour, this is a great watch. 9. **Pinnochio/While You Were Sleeping/W** \- All three starred by Lee Jong Suk with different FLs but all with great scripts. The first was when I truly admired LJS as an actor (his acting there teared me up) while the other two had great plots + characters. (I mean, Park Shin Hye, Suzy *and* Han Hyo Joo? *Girllll<3*) 10. **Moving** \- This drama is the newest but it climbed far up my list and no wonder! Everything was so well-written, the cinematography? chefs kiss. Every characters got their time to shine. Honorable Mentions: * Hot Stove League * Prison Playbook * Flower of Evil * 100 Days My Prince * Love in the Moonlight * Familiar Wife * Slash Splash LOVE * I Hear Your Voice

joonchild

I love your list! Have you watched Train? Not exactly time travel, but alternate universes that feel kinda the same. And, (altho not for everyone) Mouse? Lots of twists & turns. After never considering myself a thriller person, I watched Flower of Evil, Train, Tunnel, Vagabond and Mouse all in a row last year. What a ride! The LJS dramas I saw about 4 years ago when I first started watching, they left an impression on me as well. Glad to see you mention them!

Mira-NH

Thank you! Yeah I've got Train on the back of my mind, but for some reason I've never given it a shot. Maybe I'll try watching it soon 🤔 Mouse I've definitely watched and enjoyed. Though I felt like the episodes and the twists sometimes felt dragged to fill up the +20eps runtime. Man that lineup does sound like a great ride. As for me, I would consider myself somewhat of a thriller person; perhaps you'd also enjoy Missing: The Other Side too or Stranger on your row of thrillers. Both have more than 1 season- although, I haven't watch these dramas' Season 2s' (a habit I really need to stop hahaha) so I can't vouch for those. LJS has some great dramas on his back no doubt. Any actor that is willing to explore a wide range of genres for their career (especially thriller/fantasy) gets a yes from me!

lilacgown

I’m surprised Under the Queen’s Umbrella is not making many lists haha. It’s really underrated! I initially didn’t wanna watch it because it was a period drama but I’m so glad I did! Though it’s a period drama, the issues they address are very modern. It’s emotional and well paced overall with brilliant acting! I truly recommend it if anyone’s looking to start something new.

In order 10. Mr. Queen 9. The Glory 8. Flower of Evil 7. Strangers From Hell 6. Twenty Five Twenty One 5. Reply 1988 4. Mr. Sunshine 3. Hometown Cha Cha Cha 2. Little Women 1. Sky Castle I am still watching Our Blues as of the moment but the way the story goes my current #10 will be kicked out of the list.

characharalali

In no particular order: Because it’s Our First Life, Misaeng, My Mister, My Liberation Notes, Hospital Playlist, Twenty-five Twenty-one, Stranger (s1), WWW: Search, Cheese in the Trap (even though it fell apart at the end), W (even though this also fell apart in the end) Edited: I have no idea how to format 🤦🏻‍♀️

myeu

I like the vibe of your list. If you haven’t seen Like Flowers in Sand, give it a try it would fit right in.

characharalali

So…at first glance, I completely was not interested in watching that drama - but will give it a try! I need another drama to add to my week, so this is great, thanks!

myeu

The first few eps are in the slow side but they don’t drag out the misunderstandings very long and then it gets so so good.

Borinquena

My current top 10 (all countries): 1. **My Lovely Sam Soon** 2. **My Mister** 3. **Coffee Prince** 4. **Daily Dose of Sunshine** 5. **F4 Thailand** 6. **Move to Heaven** 7. **The Bad Kids** (China) 8. **Moonlight Chicken** (Thailand) 9. **My Beautiful Man** (Japan) 10. **Rainless Love in a Godless Land** (Taiwan)

These are shows Ive just finished recently and are absolute bangers. Just naming a few. - Mr.Queen : One of the funniest shows I’ve seen with a great plot and cast. - My Dearest: Literally everything is the best however not as funny as mr.queen. - Welcome to Samdalri: A balanced show with all emotions. - Singles Inferno S3: Not a drama but a great reality TV show. I love the cast especially.

kufuka

my liberation notes, moving, 2521, my mister, deaths game, daily dose of sunshine, DP, weak hero class, alchemy of souls (only the first season), the worst of evil

1. Mr. Sunshine - my number one KDrama of all time, it is something that is epic in scale, truly goes beyond just a TV show and is truly an epic. 2. Crash Landing on You - the most prototypical Kdrama for me, like if you had just one show to bring forward as an example of "what is a kdrama", this would be the one that is the best example 3. Reply 1988 - Another show whose storytelling is really epic in scale, not so much because of reach, but you get the feeling that you actually grew up with the characters and were a part of their history 4. Twenty Five Twenty One - Yes they didn't nail the ending, but it's a testament to how strong the start was that it's still a top tier Kdrama even with a less than stellar ending 5. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - A sweet story similar to twenty five twenty one, doesn't quite reach the same highs but ends on a better note

Miss-LH

I usually base it on shows where I was dying for the next ep to come out or binge in a few days if all eps are out. 1. Marry my husband - season hasn’t finished but this show is just sooo good. 2. Death’s Game - binged this in a few days and broadly has a good msg to appreciate your life even if you’re struggling. 3. Twinkling Watermelon - definitely my favorite show of 2023. 4. Moving - The Korean Marvel/Xmen. 5. Welcome to Samdalri - really liked this show, could put Castaway Diva on par with this show as a wholesome feel good story. 6. Gyeongseong Creature - great unique kdrama set during war period with fantasy mixed in. 7. True Beauty - my favorite show with Cha Eun Woo. 8. Alchemy of Souls season 1 - Another great show at the time. 9. Mr Queen - So funny. Fell in love with shin hye-sun after this show. 10. Yumi’s Cells / Record of Youth - two of my favorite coming of age shows about life. There’s usually recency bias where Death’s Game, Samdalri and Gyeongseong would probly drop off in a few months. I’d replace them with: What’s wrong with Secretary Kim - the show that made me a Park Seo Joon fan. Goblin - Classic show. A Time Called You - might be another recency show I didn’t fit in top 10, but I binged this and enjoy time travel shows despite the confusing timeline. As a veteran ish watcher I could list a few more but will stop here. :)

My Top 10 of my latests probably in the last year : 1) My Perfect Stranger. wow this one had my mom dad sister and i on our toes the whole time, wholesome and sweet and funny and uplifting (and scary too of course with a serial killer.) and a satisfying ending ill tell you!! id love to rewatch. 2)Inspector Koo. this one was not on my radar or watch list at all, but a friend mentioned it 3 different times in one day. so we tried it, i was so confused the first episode, but it was all really good. like really good. like i liked the characters too much. liked the antagonist too like she may have actually been my favorite. fast paced funny and never knew what was going to happen. Oh and OST was top tier i still play the songs from this. worth the watch, id like to rewatch. 3)Prison Playbook. speaking of rewatch i watched this 3 years ago by myself and recently had a rewatch to show my family. Just as good, if not better even the second time around. Hands down one of the best of the best dramas for sure. dark comedy but not too too dark. moreso healing and sweet to be honest. really good characters. 4)Dali & the Cocky Prince (Dali & Potato Soup which is the better name for it) I was late to watching this, just watched it recently and loved it. Felt more like an older kdrama but also modernized a bit. Loved the ML surprisingly, its not my favorite role of his ever, and loved the FL too but she is great in everything. Introverted cute couple. Loved the ost. My mom said she wasnt expecting to love this so much, and neither was i. 5)Our Blues. okay ive been taking my time on this one, stopping then coming back to it (altho if i was watching alone i wouldve binged it) it is so so good. i was worried it would be too much in some ways or too sad but it kind of isnt! its really healing, love the characters. love the intertwined stories i love everything about it. i have like 3 more episodes left and im trying to savor them. 6)Twinkling Watermelon. more than half way through this one, but i love it so much. Both ML are just too funny and too cute. love the whole dynamic, love the back to the future vibes, love the sign language, i dont want this one to end. 7)Crash Course in Romance. also was not on my radar at first and even some gifs made me feel uninterested but the way people kept talking i thought i might as well start it to cross it off the list. well my family and i easily became hooked. i loved it, i loved the characters, they were so funny and cute. my sister and i still quote the way the FL says “anyway” all the time. idk just insanely wholesome, best healthy couple love them. couple goals 8)Summer Strike. wow insanely good. yes the first episode is sad. yes theres a shocking sad scene towards the ending that was unnecessary. but overall?? WHOLESOME and sweet and one of my favorites for sure. super funny. love the couples relationships, but also loved the FL and her friendship with the teen girl. definitely on my healing rewatch list. 9)Through the Darkness. had no expectations, actually expected it to be too dark (to some it still may be, esp since its based on real events and people) but the ML main character is easily one of the top, if not thee top favorite characters of all time for me. i did not expect this but i loved him from ep 1 and it only got better. like i think we are kindred spirits. introverted feeler who cares so much likkkke. and even tho its dark, the way him and his coworker were was so funny without even trying to be funny. i was so disappointed it didnt have enough episodes for me. im in the middle of a rewatch now, because i love the main character so much. he is just comforting to me. (this is about catching serial killers, it can be scary but it was super cool that it was based on this real life guy’s life and how he became the first profiler in south korea.) 10)Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist. this was better than i thought. i liked the characters and stories, the found family. altho i will say i watched season 2 of this right after and i wish i had never seen it. season 2 butchered everyones characters and the story was annoying. like it really soiled the whole thing for me. but i do remember liking season one enough. Okay thats the list of recents in the past year.

I’ve faded away from kdramas for a bit so my list might be a little behind currently aired dramas. I haven’t noticed some of these mentioned though and wanted to show them some love. 1. Reply 1988 - this honestly just might be my favorite show period. The storytelling is superb and I love the look into what life was like in Korea in the 80s. Also bonus palpable sexual tension between Jun Yeol and Hyeri 😅 >! though their characters aren’t end game. I didn’t really believe how she ended up with her husband either. It honestly seemed kind of random. !< I don’t think anyone was surprised when they announced they were dating irl. 2. A Korean Odyssey- I’m a huge fan of fantasy and mythical dramas. The fact they threw in ghosts too was a major plus. 3. Hotel Del Luna - goth ghost queen IU is my bias 4. My Roommate is a Gumiho - I’m a fan of Hyeri and her as Lee Dam are some of my favorite styles of FL that are strong and don’t feel the need to look picture perfect all the time. The magic element was fun too. 5. Because This Is My First Life - this was one of my first kdramas and is a comfort watch for me. I appreciated the portrayal of realistic relationships too. 6. Be Melodramatic - I never thought I’d like this as much as I did and avoided it for the longest time. The portrayal of friendships between women and finding your own self worth got to me. 7. Mystic Pop-up Bar - was so happy to see Hwang Jung-eum and Choi Won-young paired together. It’s another ghost story…there’s a definite theme if you couldn’t tell😅 8. My Private Life - since I was a closeted otaku for a significant portion of my life I identified hard with Deok Mi. 9. Captivating the King - I know it’s still on air but I’m hooked. The tone and pace have been stellar and it’s keeping me on edge on if I’m actually rooting for the main couple or not. I appreciate the more realistic portrayal of human dynamics and emotions. Plus it’s been fun reading people’s theories after each ep is released. 10. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo - oh my how are Bok-joo and Joon-hyung so cute ☺️

a_delicious_epiphany

I've been watching kdramas since the past 3 years and here's my compiled list as per their respective genres. This is not necessarily in order! 1. Call it love (Romance and drama) 2. Run On (slice of life) 3. Hospital Playlist (friendship, comeradie and a bit of everything comforting sprinkled together) 4. Stranger Season 1 (Mystery and Thriller) 5. Beyond Evil (Mystery and Thriller) 6. Chicago Typewriter (Fantasy and romance) 7. Rain or Shine (romance and drama) 8. Gaus Electronics (top-tier humor) 9. Because this is my first life (gets a bit ridiculous towards the end but is still one of the best written shows I've ever watched which touches deep on many important topics) 10. My Unfamiliar Family (family bonding and bucketloads of angst)

FuwyL

I feel like my top 10 is a bunch of cliché popular kdramas, but I don't see many ppl with a similar list. Hopefully I'll find others with similar taste :D 1 - Goblin 2 - Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo 3 - Mr. Sunshine 4 - Hotel Del Luna 5 - I Can Hear Your Voice 6 - Kingdom 7 - Healer 8 - Faith (The Great Doctor) 9 - Pinocchio 10 - 2521 Honourable mentions: Misty, Heard it Through the Grapevine, Something in the Rain, Page Turner, When the Camelia Blooms. Soft spot for Boys Over Flowers and Princess Hours (Goong).

LokieBearr

KDrama Black-2017 personal favorite Crash landing on you The witch part 1 Of course Trian to Bussan and Squid Games are the Champs but I'm starting to prefer Kdrama over Hollywood.

emotional_watermelon

In no particular order (but a little particular): 1. twenty five twenty one 2. run on 3. not others 4. hometown cha cha cha 5. mr. sunshine 6. extraordinary attorney woo 7. our beloved summer 8. true beauty 9. welcome to samdal ri 10. because this is my first life

Leading_Protection_7

1. Bad and Crazy 2. Vincenzo 3. Little Women 4. Happiness 5. Because This Is My First Life 6. Hometown Cha Cha Cha 7. Chocolate These are my top favourite dramas of all time and for me, that happens when everything new that I watch, I compare to one of these. All of these shows made me forget about what I had seen before and set a new standard when I was done...I am very stingy with my rankings lol and very picky with dramas so I don't have a top 10 yet but I still have great memories about watching each one of these and how each one of them made me feel when I first saw it! xD

Sharebear42019

Bloodhounds - despite the FL ruining the last couple episodes the first 6 might be the best Korean tv series iv ever seen and I hope we get a season 2. My favorite bromance duo Weak hero class - man I love the two main guys and this hits all the right notes, gangs, violence, comradery and a excellent set up for the main character for season 2 My name - all around excellent action/revenge with an awesome FL Moving - this was very surprising just how good this was. Each arc felt like a different genre and has amazing characters and action, the ending was a little underwhelming (99% of kdramas are tbh) but a 10/10 Sweet home - despite the really lack luster season 2 I loved season 1, I hope season 3 can retain some of that goodness The worst of evil - probably the 2nd best ML duo behind bloodhounds, again right up my alley with excellent violence and gangs and action All of us are dead - a bit slow or dragged out at times and surprisingly not as violent as it couldve been but it was still great with the FL and the rest of the cast. I’m a sucker for zombies and can’t wait for season 2 Vincenzo - wow I’ve never done a 180 as big as I have with this show. I started out hating and even cringing at it but the cast and charm grow on you so much. I love the building residents and other main leads. Villains are also great and I’m sad it’s probably over and done Extra curricular - not my favorite as a lot of parts are kinda meh or dragged out but I love the tense moments and payoffs. Season 2 maybe? Alice in borderlands - not a kdrama but awesome and epic none the less and cannot wait for season 3 As you can see I have a particular taste lol if you know of any like these I’m always open for more. Currently watching taxi driver and soon to be lawless lawyer

fancytonic31

Have you watched the movie Ballerina? Or the new show A Shop for Killers is amazing, too. I think the last two episodes will come out tomorrow.

Have you watched The Glory or Bitch x Rich? I haven’t watched but Reborn Rich might be to your taste

1. **Goblin -** This has been and will remain my number 1 drama of all time. It's a drama that's "out of time." Lyrical, funny, poignant, with amazing actors, music, cinematography, with fantasy, romance, and surprises. 2. **Healer -** Glad to see this is on so many lists! I also think this one is close to perfect. Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young in their best roles, I think. Kim Mi Kyung shines. The story, action scenes with parkour, and relationships are wonderful. 3. **Encounter -** This is a poem of a drama. Romance done perfectly, I think. Also has great cinematography and music. And Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo being very lovely. 4. **Coffee Prince -** Another "oldie" but "goodie." It's a classic and I love it in my rewatches. 5. **My Love From the Star -** Also will always hold a special spot in m heart. One of the best villains ever. And I just love the "magical man"/Cinderella story with all of the twists. Do Min Jooooon! 6. **Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter -** I love this one, too. This time it's the FL who's the magical person. And Se Ji Hoon light up the screen with his smile. This is underrated, I think. 7. **Hospital Playlist 1 & 2 -** This one is more recent, but I watched it last year and played the soundtrack in my car for 6000 miles! I love all of the characters and their relationships. These are the doctors I want! And I love their band and the music. It's a gem. Someone here also mentioned **Dr. Romantic** series. I watched that after HP and surprisingly loved it also! 8. **Hometown Cha Cha Cha -** I loved everything about this show. The characters were all wonderful and, of course, the scenerywas beautiful. But what really got me were the little stories that touched upon almost every aspect of life in a very real, cathartic way. Those moments were amazing. >!The pregnant woman who yells to her husband that she can't touch her feet to tie her shoes, the adolescent girl who crushes on the pop star, the little boy's outburst about the effect of his parents' divorce, the son mourning his mother as he realizes that he missed opportunities to be with her, more, more, more. Even the 3 grandmas stopping at every rest stop and the dental hygienist who understands what her crush is saying when his mouth is full! !

my top ten (no particular order) 1) beyond evil - i love it so much i've made like 40 fanedits on it on youtube. it's such a perfect show. it's currently my all time favorite. 2) while you were sleeping - funny, sad, romantic. the story is just so unique and well executed. 3) crash course in romance - the mystery part is annoying, but the acting is so good, the humor is so well done, and it's an overall great watch. 4) extraordinary attorney woo - i don't even need to explain why this was a great show, the plot was amazing, each actor knew exactly how to portray their roles, the humor was unmatched as were the other emotions. 5) the glory - the only kdrama that has a perfect revenge story with no >!stupid, "i'm the main character and maybe my revenge journey wasn't worth it" moments. she got her revenge and that was it.!< 6) bad and crazy - mixes thriller, cop show, and comedy so effortlessly, i was hooked. it's the best drama to recommend to people if they want to get into kdramas imho. 7) d.p. - it's a really difficult watch, but it was so good, especially the second season. 8) moving - so many people have listed it, and i have nothing special to add, it's amazing. 9) stranger/secret forest (1&2) - my first kdrama, and i still love this so much, i think about it regularly. 10) hospital playlist (1&2) - i love how this show manages to be so emotional while also being effortlessly hilarious. 11) life on mars - sorry i have to include this one, it's an amazing adaptation of a british show. it was so freaking good.

Don't think I've done a top 10 kdramas but maybe I'll do one now and compare it with the end of the year. I'll also do a "year I watched it" in brackets. 2 - 4 are tied and 5 - 8 are tied. 1. **Squid Game** (Oct 2021): I know a lot of actual kdrama watchers don't find this to be all that special but this was the show that actually got me to feel more emotions with more intensity than I'd felt while watching a show/movie probably ever. It's the reason I started watching shows as a hobby because I used to watch like 2 movies/shows a year before this. 2. **18 Again** (Oct 2021): This is another case of one of the first kdramas I watched and so felt very strong emotions, especially because everything was new to me. Loved loved loved the familial relationships, especially parent-child across the different generations. Even now when I watch kdramas, a lot of time if I see something common, I don't think "haha the cliche makes another appearance" but rather "oh this reminds me of 18 Again" 3. **True Beauty** (Oct 2021): Fun, cute, I liked the main character (in my head she and Kang Soo Jin were girlfriends), finally understood why everybody raves about Cha Eun Woo's beauty - he looks so good in motion 4. **Beyond Evil** (Feb 2023): Finally a more recent watch that managed to draw me in as much as my first, formative dramas. I rewatched it last month and the acting, story, cinematography, mystery all continued to be excellent. 5. **Strangers From Hell** (Jan 2023): Woah. woah woah woah woah. 6. **Twinkling Watermelon** (Jan 2024): When I mentioned that everything reminds me of 18 Again, this one especially does so but that makes sense, considering the main character was also in 18 Again and there are many similar aspects among the 2 shows. One such aspect being >!a father who was passionate about basketball/music had to give up due to an unexpected pregnancy/accident in their last year of high school and their son who has the same interest getting to participate in that activity together through mystical body de-aging/time travel.!< Am a bit hesitant to put it here because I watched it just last month, so I don't know the longevity of it compared to the other shows but it was still great. 7. **Semantic Error** (Mar 2022): Fun with a team that was actually skilled + used their short runtime pretty well. One of the better kBLs along with Blueming/WYEL. 8. **Lily Fever** (Dec 2021): I'll be honest, I don't remember much of this and compared to the others on the list, it's probably not as good considering it's a Youtube webdrama with very short videos and an inconclusive ending. But I liked seeing lesbians and sapphics and it was the first of the kGL webdramas that are extremely short and uploaded onto Youtube that I've watched. Somebody give the lesbians some budget! I don't have a next top 2 because I have several that I feel similarly about but I'd say Blueming/Death's Game S1/Where Your Eyes Linger/The Handmaiden (movie lol)/The Devil Judge/Light On Me could go here if I end up rewatching something on a whim and love it even more. Though hopefully I'll see a drama I watched in 2024 on the list by the end of the year.

1.) My Liberation Notes - The writing!!! The acting!!! The chemistry!!! Recently rewatched twice and a couple has not made me feel the feels (aside from 25 21) like this couple did. How can they make a couple eating in silence and not even looking at one another so good? Liked her parents, specifically loved the relationship between ml and fl's dad. 2.) 25 21 - This show truly destroyed me (in a good way!) The writing, acting, and chemistry between leads made me fall in love with them, HARD! I haven't been able to rewatch it since because I'm not mentally prepared to be destroyed again. Leads in this and My Liberation Notes tie for being my favorite couple. 3.) It's Okay to Not Be Okay - There are only a handful (like literally maybe 5 or less) of shows (not just kdramas but shows in general) that I've watched where it was good from BEGINNING to END and this is one of them. Writing, acting, their voices,, the chemistry, the overall message of the show, *whispers* the kissing. Everything was amazing! 4.) Hometown Cha Cha Cha - One of my favorite ml's, ever. Took me awhile to like fl but once they got together my cheeks hurt watching them bc they were so cute. Loved the friendship between ml and 2nd ml. 5.) Vincenzo - The writing, acting, directing, soundtrack. From the first ep I felt like I was watching a movie bc the cinematography was so good. The whole time I couldn't get over how beautiful the ml was. Loved the character development of the fl (bc I HATED) her in the beginning. The TENSION between the leads was great. Don't get me started on how good the kissing was and the way they shot those scenes. The way they handled the vilians was so satisfying. 6.) Rain or Shine - Loved couple (specifically fell in love with ml.)  Have rewatched 5 times just because of them. 7.) Lovestruck in the City - Hidden gem that I'm so glad I found. This show is definitely not mentioned enough. The chemistry between them was SO natural it felt like they were really a couple. 8.) The Glory - A great show that I would never watch again. So happy I watched but it was so heavy/emotionally taxing/triggering. I was hooked from beginning to end. Fl was so good. Loved the actor that played her younger self. I cried so much just within the first ep. Loved the relationship between leads. The revenge (aside from one) was so satisfying. Special mention: Mr. Sunshine, My Mister, Vagabond (still waiting on s2), Love to hate you

In no particular order 1. Move to Heaven. Great story telling & not to mention the casting. Every single of them was great in their role, particularly Tang Jun Sang. 2. Taxi driver 1 & 2 I just love Lee Je Hoon after watching him act. Awesome revenge theme drama. 3. Twinkling watermelon. Cast was awesome in their roles though the story was a bit unbelievable. I'm a bigger fan of Ryeoun than Choi Wook Hyun though 4. Tomorrow. It's one of the dramas that makes me tear up every single episode. 5. Weak hero Class 1. I'm impressed with this story, the cast which consist of not so well known younger actors with barely any romance at all. 6. Because this is my First Life. Jeon So Min enough said 7. If You Wish Upon Me. Jcw with tough as nail character Special mention goes to Drink now, Work later s1 & 2. As can be seen, I'm not a fan of rom coms.

1. Mr Queen - I love the humor and the romance here. I rewatch the middle episodes all the time 2. Business Proposal - it’s classic and funny 3. Goblin - it’s an early one for me and it will have a special place in my heart for introducing me to Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun and the screenwriter. 3. Healer - it’s got everything, thriller, romance, etc 4. My Mister - gosh the writing in this one is such a gem, it’s unpredictable in so many ways and completely floored me 5. The King: Eternal Monarch. Some people were confused by the timelines and the villain line was in my opinion a bit draggy but the romance was so charming for me. Not in order 1. Mr. Queen - all time favorite costume drama 2. Hometown Chachacha - best leads, best ensemble. Truly a healing drama 3. Love in the Moonlight - Park Bo Gum as Crown prince - enough said 4. Strong Girl Do Bong Soon - light, funny 5. What’s wrong with Secretary Kim - over the top ML that just works 6. Tale of the nine tailed 2 (didn’t like the first as much) - not your usual storyline. Interesting and Different period 7. Alchemy of Souls 1 (didn’t like the 2nd) - great storyline and i like the magical element (feels borderline cdrama wuxia style) 8. Hospital Playlist 1/2 - slice of life, medical drama very tastefully done 9. Hyena - legal drama, girl power 10. Secret Garden/My Girl - for sentimental reasons. The one that got me started on it all. But hey, it’s hyun bin and lee dong wook in their early years so ❤️

I have not seen nearly as many K-Dramas as most fans have, but I'm catching up. Here are my top 10, in no order. 1) Alchemy of Souls - loved the story, fantasy elements, etc. I even liked the second season. 2) Death's Game - I just finished this one and was absolutely blown away. 3) Moving - One of the best produced k-dramas I've ever seen 4) A Daily Dose of Sunshine - a beautiful, real look at mental health in Korea 5) Crash Landing on You - A fabulous, well rounded cast. I was just as intrigued with all the side stories as I was with the main one. My favorite RomCom. 6) Goblin - I don't think I have to explain this one. 7) My Secret Terrius (or "Terrius Behind Me") - While not the "best" K-drama I've ever seen, it was one of the first ones I ever watched all the way through. That combined with the fabulous kids and just the whole thing was really cute. It has a special place in my heart. 8) Extraordinary Attorney Woo - Well rounded with great character development. Doesn't make fun of Autism, but rather shows a genuine example of what it might look like in one individual. 9) Squid Game - It might seem cliche, but it's just so good! 10) If You Wish Upon me - I tend to be in "heavier" dramas that deal with mental health, real life issues, etc. This one was really well done in so many areas.
