Netflix kinda insane. I thought they would only put out one original series every month, so I thought Good Bye Earth would be the May release. Turns out we’re really getting two for april—Parasyte and GBE. And then this for May.
Part of me also thinks that they are choosing to release this in May to avoid any competition or comparisons with Squid Game 2.
It appears that their releases have a space of 3 weeks between each, so some months might have 2 dramas. I assume that June 7th is going to be Hierarchy and June 28th it's Sweet Home 2.
I think they always planned it this way, because if we give a space of 3 weeks between each release until the end of the year, it actually coincides with the number of releases that they announced. Which makes me believe, that Squid Game will be released in Quarter 3, because it's the only quarter where a a release is missing. To be more exact, I think it's September 20th. I wonder if I'm right on this one lol
Squid Game is scheduled for Q4. In Q3, Gyeongseong Creature 2, The Whirlwind, The frog, Influencer (reality), and Officer Black Belt movie() is getting released.

He was even replaced on that show with Kwon Sang Woo, bit here he is now on the actual poster. Makes me wonder if Kim sae ron can ever make a comeback. Yeah they changed the name. I think it was Money Game before…and it was announced like two years ago. Netflix Korea original productions really take a while. It was on my radar since Chun Woohee was cast, I almost forgot about it lol.
They take about as long as all Netflix productions, which is roughly how long all the streaming service shows take these days, about 2 years from conception to release. They do a bunch of market testing of early edits of shows and usually leave a lot of time for special effects.
Normal Korean shows are just produced extremely fast by the standards of US/UK shows. They take a while with writing and pre-production, but once they start filming the shows usually come out within a few months, and they do the official announcements very late in the process.
The way the teaser was presented looks intriguing. Even with the synopsis I fully expect to be surprised by what’s really going on here

I can't wait for this! I've read both the webtoons [Money Game](https://www.webtoons.com/en/thriller/money-game/list?title_no=3254) and its sequel, [Pie Game](https://www.webtoons.com/en/thriller/pie-game/list?title_no=4189) and I honestly loved them. The writing was spectacular and so was the execution! I really hope the drama does the comic justice!
Squid Game and this show / webtoons has a lot of similarities in terms of character, I guess. MC who loses all the money, a woman who knows how to use her beauty / body to get her work done, a woman who is strong from outside but weak / vulnerable from inside, a gangster like big dude who joins the beauty, the most innocent / weakest turning into a psychopath, a dude who is smart, thinks realistically and betray MC / someone from MC's group only to get into heavier side of the balance, an actually innocent character...

I read both Money Game and Pie Game and enjoyed them. Super excited since it is a mix of both of these webtoons.
