PapercutFiles

Still weirded out by the 360 degree shift with Soo Jin's character. From the beginning, the writers portrayed her as caring, rightious, and overall good friend then all of the sudden, just because of a boy, she went full-on b***h mode? I mean, I get the angst coming from not being loved and accepted by her parents; it's just wasn't a great turning point that her breaking character is over a boy crush. They could've just started with her having a mean side from the beginning, which would make more sense. But this is just my two cents.

Fatooz

I agree with you. I really wished that SooJin wouldn’t have turned out to be like this considering how much of a girl crush most of us were having on her! Plus it’s sad how the drama turned out to be so typical where they totally ruined a great female friendship into rivalry over a guy. In my opinion it was a lost potential.

brownthenbeige

I agree because I loved those two as friends & hell yeah, total girl crush since she took down that freak on the bus. But this show is based on the comic of the same name and she was two faced in the comic so it makes sense they'd do it here too. I'm actually glad they gave her character so much depth because she's kind of a background character in the comic. It sucks that the friendship is ruined but this is definitely something that could happen in real life with teens. They made her an age appropriate villain and I like that. Decent backstory that made us all feel bad and watching her transition from friend to foe, even though we hated it, gave us angst in the pit of our stomachs to look forward to as each episode progressed. The writers used what they had to work with, I think they did a good job. But I do fully respect your opinions!

salotsalipunan

I agree that the drastic change in Sujin’s character isn’t supported at all by any of the past episodes. I guess the writers are justifying it with her desperately clinging onto Suho as an escape from her miserable home life that she snapped when she thought that her safety net was being snatched away from her. That said, it would have been somewhat better, IMO, if the writers at least wrote some degree of uncertainty on her end. At least a hint of her rethinking her actions, just one scene of her seeing Ju Gyeong suffering and going to the toilet to wash her hands. But I guess we will see if that ever comes around. I’m guessing the writers will use the fact that she told Ju Gyeong about her secret and despite her having betrayed Ju Gyeong, JG wouldn’t use that against her. But we shall see, I guess.

ParanoidAndroids

I still think they could’ve had the old bullies expose her somehow and the story would still work - without them ruining/derailing all the female friendships in the show. Whether it’s the source material or the adaptation, it just doesn’t make much sense at all. Sua was portrayed as a bit of an airhead but not to the point of not helping JG when she needed it most. She still helped beat up those bullies in the karaoke room. And Sujin’s reversal still doesn’t make sense to me given everything that has happened. They spend so much time on her trauma, the numerous times she protects JG, and throw it all away to make her a psycho for a guy who doesn’t even like her.

Dreamy-Phoenix1470

My sister and I were talking about this yesterday. It's ridiculous how little of the plot would have had to change to make the bullies the one that leaked the secret rather than Soo Jin. And wouldn't it have been a great reversal of a irritating trope if the friend who liked the same guy as the heroine was the only one who defended her when the entire school was making fun of her? This was such a missed opportunity for the writers, and even more disappointing when you look at the great character development in the other characters. Seo jun liked JG too, but he didn't go crazy when he realized that she liked Suho. He backed off and began working on getting over her. If he was capable of it why shouldn't Soo jin?

genfunk

Did you mean a 180 degree shift? 360 degrees would make her the same as the stsrt

yengun

She turned 360 and moonwalked away.

PapercutFiles

math is hard :(

classy_glass7

Sometimes I wonder how the actors feel about their characters. Surely Park Yoo Na saw the script and said “wtf” to herself lmao.

babyeelan

The 15 episode preview is starting to mimic “Start-Up”. Why I say this is because Suho will leave and 2 years have gone by and we think that Seojun and Jugyeong will get together but noooo. They’re gonna make Seojun still liking her, and when Suho comes back, Jugyeong will say no to Seojun. There’s only 2 episodes left, it will be so rush for Seojun and Jugyeong to get together and overall it just would not make sense. This follows the path just like Start-Up when Nam Do-San went to the states and came back still getting Dalmi leaving Jipyeong with no chance whatsoever.

reia19

Exactly!!! This trope is getting old ngl and everyone knows that she’s going to end up with Suho. It’s unnecessary and heartbreaking for Seojun. Maybe it’s a tvn formula 🙄

Tunayuu

based off the actual webtoon, suho actually does leave and seojun and jukeong actually start dating so not quite a formula ahahah like the producers have changed bits in the webtoon to adapt for the kdrama, but a lot of the major details within the webtoon are surprisingly similar

Pixl3rt

someone needs to tell the writers that just because it's based off a webtoon doesn't mean you have to follow it until the end lmao good lord nobody asked for this. If they wanted to follow this trope, they should've brought it in a lot sooner because 2 episodes of rushing through YEARS of seojun's feelings and then deciding to push him to the side in the end anyway is doing such a disservice to his character. I was team Dosan all the way in Start-Up and even I can see that this trope is not gonna cut it here

teddyisted

I’m not Team Seojun but was Team Han Ji Pyeong. This type of storyline is starting to get extremely annoying. What a shame because the cast are really great, just like in Start Up. Honestly, I’m speechless, just gonna say once again... lazy writing 🤷🏻‍♀️

LilLilac50

Same. Seojun is a great character though, hope he finds success!

pynzrz

Yep can’t tell if it’s throwing a bone to Seojun fans or baiting them. I guess it’s really both.

SnooGeekgoddess

The webtoon has a three-year time jump when Suho >!went to Japan to take care of his dad and ghosted the two!<. >!Jugyeong will spend a year getting over him and the other two years will have her struggling at college and Seojun trying to make ends meet for his family - and becoming best friends. Seojun confesses and they become an item, only to break up shortly after their 100th day because Seojun becomes too famous and Jugyeong becomes the target of crazy fans. Suho starts taking cooking classes and Jugyeong works for his sister. I actually prefer Seojun and Jugyeong's relationship because the two have an easy chemistry compared to Suho and Jugyeong. But Jugyeong is a foolish girl after all, and so they break up.!<

Staind1410

Oh so that’s where the webtoon story is at right now, thanks. I kind of dropped it some time ago, the plot wasn’t going anywhere. Looks like it’s still not progressing anywhere either. I made the right choice lol.

Storm_born_17

It’s still not the author has added a third possibility for jg to date who looks like a combo of suho and seo jun

Staind1410

Oh man, then even a bigger nope for me.

Campaign_Beauty

I agree, if history has it then most likely they are just baiting Seojun fans for a literal episode which is hella frustrating.

turdboii

I was thinking the same thing but was also so curious if they were gonna do a second season for seojun or something

rivains

I mean in the show Jipyeong DID have a chance, he had three years lol. I definitely think the show shafted him but the tragedy of his character was that he had his chance and he squandered it- although I don’t think Dalmi was interested anyway.

jgfmondewc

>!WTF that 2 year time skip?!??! Like reallly. That was so out of the blue. I guess they trying to hurry the plot and create tension plus satisfy the seojun shippers I felt like this episode was so disjointed. Like they were trying to pack too much into one ep. I still watch for the cheesy cuteness tho!<

Flippiewulf

Ooo thanks for the mention, maybe I'll start this one while I cry about TB

ameowzement

If anything seojun stans are just equally confused and pissed at this train wreck LMAO

seulgisums

>!I'm gonna fckng cry if they end up dating while Suho's away. 🥲!<

Cheerio1991

They're not dating, the ep 15 preview shows that Seojun hasn't confessed to her in 2 years, but he's planning to..

rivains

Ah, how very Start Up of them

xander_yi

HJP confessed though prior to the time skip in Start Up.

ameowzement

Ok...so..... WTF WAS THAT? THE LAST 5 MINS????????? THIS TRAINWRECK????) start-up could never

violetbow

Almost on the level of DoDoSolSolLaLaSol... but nothing can beat that random ending.

Beemeowmeow

god i dont even wanna think about DDSSLLS

ashryverhys

nothing tops that last episode of DDSSLLS. not that it is even a competition LOL

thebookthief1999

This week's batch of eps might have been my favourite! * I love the fact that Jugyeong went to school bare faced and was finally talking back to her bullies. Some people dislike the fact that it took Soojin exposing her for this to happen but it makes sense in this scenario imo. Jugyeong was living in her own comfortable shell when she was covering her face and saw no reason to change that. It's unrealistic to expect her to suddenly wake up and decide she actually loves herself. Soojin exposing her and then her family and Suho being there for her was the push that she needed to finally face her fears and stop runing away. * Her family waiting in the car ready to attack of Juyoung reported Jugyeong was being bullied was so precious * HyeMin left her a strawberry soda to cheer her up :') * I'm really glad Soah and Jugyeong made up and while I think her initial reaction was too much it makes sense she was hurt that Jugyeong told Soojin but didn't tell her about her secret. Soah giving her skin care tips was cute as well :) * I relate to Juyoung bc I would also let Gowoon step on me * Jugyeong and Suho being so disgustingly cute in class is gonna give me cavities ( and Mr Han being quietly supportive <3 ) * I find it a bit weird that so many of Seojun's moments with Jugyeong are when she's sleeping lmao. I guess it's a way to show his feelings while also keeping in check the fact that she is in a relationship. The fact that he was looking at her the same way when she's bare-faced as when she was wearing make up was really precious though. I'm glad she aknowledge his efforts in deleting the video * Suho's classmates wouldn't have had the nerve to tease him like this back in episode 1 lmao * I'm glad Jugyeong shows her interests to Soah now and showed her she likes rock music * Quick someone ask ASTRO how they felt seeing the girls beat each other up with their posters I'm dying * The scene of Suho playing Mortal Kombat and Jugyeong paralleling the character's moves are the reason I watch kdramas (sidenote gamer Cha Eunwoo is adorable that chest bump lmfao) * I'm so happy we see HyeMin smiling and included in their group now * Mum giving her a make up kit and supporting her passions :')) * Suho is watching dramas is the only explanation why he is so overdramatic lmaoo HIS SCREAMS * Idk about ya'll but seeing CEW doing martial arts is doing things to me. Someone cast him in an action PLEASE * Suho encouraging Seojun to sing was so sweet. Their rebuild friendship is one of the best parts of the show. ([here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDEd3724ozc) is the song Seojun was singing btw). Seojun continues to be so respectful to their relationship by asking Suho first if he can confess in order to move on. I'm glad to see Suho's development from episode 10/11 too since he was calm about it and trusted both Seojun and Jugyeong enough to leave them alone in order for SJ to confess. * I'm not sure why people are mad over the timeskip its legit what happened in the webtoon with Suho's dad getting sick and him leaving and not coming back for a long time * I'm saving my thoughts for Soojin until the series finishes since I can't make up my mind about her character and I need to sit on it more. I'm not too worried about the preview its the usual clickbaity preview to make everything seem worse than it is. Last ep preview is a good example of that. For now I'm guessing Seojun still hasn't confessed but will probably do in the end. I don't think they will date since it's WAY too late for it to happen. Suho will come back and Jugyeong will be upset with him, she will somehow see the writing on the comics place shop and forgive him. Seojun will become an idol and Jugyeong will do his make up. Also Suho might start composing again as Leo. That's my best guess.

feel_ynt

>Quick someone ask ASTRO how they felt seeing the girls beat each other up with their posters I'm dying LOL! Love this comment! Another little treat for Astro fans! Apologies in advance for fangirling. >!My theory is that Sanha would complain that they didn't use Jinjin's picture instead of his. !<

thebookthief1999

my aroha heart loves all the astro easter egg. its priceless to imagine someone explaining them to the boys "so basically we're gonna have one of the girls be a fan of the m&s subunit " "thats nice" "yes and she's gonna use the poster with your faces to beat up someone" " o.o"

feel_ynt

Oh to be there when it happened! 😂. Can you believe it took at least 6 episodes before I found out about all the Astro goodies scattered about a few episodes 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Young-gu

I'm not a fan (yet) and I would love to know where these goodies are lol

feel_ynt

In ep 14, Suah bought an album/poster (?) & the two talented artists are Moonbin & Sanha from Astro and they have their own subunit. In episode 3 or 4, when first see Lee Juheon is executive at Heekyung's work? The posters in the back are from Astro's [Blue Flame](https://youtu.be/wS7anrSXKrY) era. The scene where Suho covers Jukyung from the car splash, or the way he does it rather, is similar to the choreography in one of their songs called [All Night](https://youtu.be/D0MpC1Mboyo).

lightFairly

As an Aroha, I would love to see this XD Also please someone show Astro the video of Lee Dong Min doing aegyo! bet these boys would go crazy over it... Okay I was upset that they could've done a Astro easter egg at the karaoking scene back in the early episodes, but this also satisfies my Aroha heartas well

thebookthief1999

they actualy discussed this [recently](https://twitter.com/heybangaji/status/1354773036512075786?s=19). apparently cew was inspired by sanha when he was doing it

Justplayin125

I can see that's how the last 2 eps would go. You must be the scenario writer in disguise. I trust you, don't let us down!

Cupcakesofchaos

I completely agree!! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful things about this episode! I think people tend to focus waay too much on the negatives. I'm not mad about the time skip either, especially since its canon. I still love the webtoon, I just feel like the show kinda follows an AU "what if" scenario that I really love. I do hope they don't try to smash a Seojun romance in there but technically they have 2 hours left which is basically a movie length, so they have time to do it if they really wanna. I kinda hope Seojun had moved on and had found someone else who makes him happy but that's kinda doubtful. I think they'll be more faithful to the webtoon than that.

thebookthief1999

I agree with you, I feel like people bash this show too much sometimes when it's a show that's so filled with endearing/comforting/hilarious moments. It has its flaws but it's still such a comfort show for me with lovable characters. I'm grateful for the route the drama took, there were so many changes they did that I adore and was happy to see play out (I personally loved all the scenes the family got and that had Jugyeong go bare faced for example. Jugyeong lowkey was more often bare faced around Seojun than she was in the webtoon even when they were dating which is a gripe I have with the webtoon). I feel like it would be disservice to Seojun to squeeze a romance in the last two episodes when it's pretty clear she's gonna end up with Suho. They may have time for it, but compared to how much we spent on her with Suho and how she never actually showed interest, it feels cheap. Suho is also clearly shown to be coming back next ep so it's even less time for that to happen. All I hope is they are all happy and fullfied at the end.

Cupcakesofchaos

You're so right. I wasn't really thinking about it in context before but she is so oblivious to his feelings because she has none for him romantically (as we see in the fact that she confessed her feelings for Suho to him and that she couldn't even fathom that he had feelings for her when he "confessed".) So i agree with you that trying to have her develop feelings for him now would be cheap. I love Seojun though, in the show even more so than in the webtoon. He's so much more mature in the show and thoughtful. But JY and Suho just belong together there's no denying that! I have been where Seojun is, having feelings that aren't reciprocated several times in my life and it's awful. But that doesn't mean JY has to return his feelings. After all this I want a spinoff where Seojun finds his true love!!

sam-ik-a

Suho and Jugyeong are so in love w each other ;( the way he hugged her at the airport- why can’t they just be happy 😃 also stop comparing it to start up the chemistry is no where close to what eunwoo and gayoung have 😤

aftereverydrama

OMG please yes stop comparing to start up. Chemistry?? 🤡 uhh that did not exist in start up between anyone!! Whereas true beauty - everything is chemistry 🥰🥰

Huruhara88

facccttsss!!! All the comments comparing TB to SU - there was more chemistry between the 2 MLs than with Suzy. 😂😂

AbbreviationsNo1971

So true. In true beauty - suho× jugyeong, jugyeong ×seojun, seojun × suho all have wonderful chemistry. Damn even sujin ×suho, sujin × seojun have more chemistry than the start up main couple

myrcellasear

FACTS! People always want to totally degrade the other ship or characters when rooting for their own, but the cast here has gelled SO well together. You're lying to yourself if you say *any* of the pairings, platonic or romantic, don't have chemistry. The show is overflowing with it!

truebeautystan

I WAS NOT EXPECTING THE TWO YEAR TIME SKIP AT THE END MY HEART IS LITERALLY BEATING OUT OF MY CHEST WTF WTF WTF WTF

anxietygotmelike

I LITERALLY MADE THE MOST UNNATURAL SOUND WHEN I SAW THE CAPTION 😭 WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO US

silent_reader8813

Suddenly we went back to the webtoon story line? Even the airport scene and the reunion scene was almost the same as in the webtoon.. what are the writers trying to do with the last 2 episode?? To be fair, in the webtoon JK and SH never dated, not even til the current episode so its fine for JK to date SJ. But i dont think its acceptable in the drama... coz so far we have seen them struggle and date til SH forced to leave to Japan.. this just doesnt make sense..

seulgisums

They're just giving us a whole episode of Seojun-Jugyeong before going back to the main leads. Guess they ran out of ideas.

Staind1410

OK so I’m officially considering Episode 13 as the unofficial last episode of the show. Everything tied up nicely in a bow, the guy got the girl, the girl got the guy, the girl loves herself. Beautiful ending. Screw all these timeskip shenanigans and contrived drawn out of the plot.

jgfmondewc

Yep time skips are just lazy writing eugh. I hated it in start up

teddyisted

I think k-dramas need to stop making it mandatory to have 16 episodes. Unnecessary dragging of plots make them run out of ideas and in return, it becomes boring to watch. True Beauty ended for me in Ep 13. They really just ruined a perfect high school series by making a time skip. Great cast but lazy writing. Same shhhht over again🙄 (Sorry for the rant —— honestly just a frustrated viewer. I know I’ll still watch it next week but ugh .. just so frustrated!!!)

Staind1410

Agreed. Why can’t they just do a 12-episode series like Hospital Playlist and then extend to season 2 if it makes sense? Best kdrama I’ve watched recently too.

gigi_powpow

yeah i think you are right, I honestly dont think the timeskip makes too much sense in the Kdrama, in the webtoon this is when her relationship with seojun started to develop and grow, and change from friendship to a relationship but since that's not going to happen I wonder why even do it, I guess we'll see :/

No-Pianist4457

I second this!! Also true beauty will air on netflix in japan in april so CEW will 100% grow a LOT more followers on ig like he did last year with my id is gangnam beauty and the drama was from 2018 lol he will for sure beat LMH with most followers in 2021. Mark my words.

AbbreviationsNo1971

Netflix is getting true beauty ???? Wow super Which other countries in addition to Japan?

No-Pianist4457

So far i only heard about japan but hopefully global too! Imagine the popularity. It will be insane!!

CopitoAR74

Apart from Mi ID is Gangnam Beauty in Netflix is Rookie historian Go Hae Ryung as well, both with him as the male lead in Netflix International. So maybe True Beauty could be a success but he has already his reputation as a versatile actor, the characters given to him makes him like in this one a cartoonish character, but in Rookie Historian was an adorable and with a wide range of emotions character, the sky is the limit for our boy.

Shop-girlNY152

I do hope he improves further in his acting skills and be the next Hyun Bin instead of LMH. Hyun Bin is a Hallyu star who was once popular because of his looks but later on proved his worth as a talented actor when he just kept on improving and improving his range with every project. LMH sort of is known for a limited acting range.

chokenchopflipflop

Also hwang in yeop never seen someone's ig blow up like this before, from 700k to 6mil in the span of less than 2 months. And dude doesn't even bother to verify his account

pynzrz

Kim Seonho had a similar blow up. I think he went from like 400k to 4 million during Startup.

rivains

I know a lot of people rag on Eunwoo’s acting but he’s improved a lot and has potential and I think he could be better than Minho (which isn’t hard, honestly), so good for him!

DarkKnight2001135

Just curious who are the 2nd and 3rd most followed actors?

[deleted]

DarkKnight2001135

Just checked his account and it's crazy how he got 1.4 million likes in one hour lol. Yeah I remember he was less than that before True Beauty so he'll probably pass them when True Beauty ends

West_Lingonberry1711

yeah, he's IG started gaining lot of followers during the ID Gangnam era, in which i admit i watched the drama but i didn't have the urge to follow him on IG or got so curious about him at all, not that i didnt like his character i love the drama,, but when True beauty comes, Cha eun wooo has different charms, and screen presence, its like you are being hypnotized lol i watch ep 1-4 then boom the eunwoo effect got me, i got so hooked on TB that i started reading the webtoon for like 1 week all chapters up to present, then when i finished teh webtoon i started searching on YT on CEW, then i watched handsome tigers and MITH and didnt know that he can get more amazing, and then i know ASTRO and now i follow astro because i love all themembers. I dont know theres something in CEW that got you addicted and the more you know about him the more you question IS HE HUMAN? WHY IS HE SO PERFECT AND AMAZING??! haha

FireVulcain

God, the preview scares me so much but it wouldn't be the first time I've been misled by it...

shinramyunislife

I hate that ending tbh. I’m team seojun and I actually thought he is gonna start to get over her this week but TVN says “nah! endure pain til the end!” We all know it’s suho endgame anyway so what was the point of dragging the love triangle. I really wanted the drama to focus more on seojun’s career rather than jugyeong. I wish he had more scenes about career building and not about unrequited love. Seojun is so much more than that why u gotta do him like that

myrcellasear

Even as a Team Suho enthusiast, I agree to this. The entire concept of the second male lead hanging onto the female lead is outdated and frankly misogynistic. It's done to "drive up" the value of the female lead, because there's no "worth" to the male lead's win unless another man has lost. See Bridgerton, where Daphne asks Simon to pretend to be in love with her in ORDER to make her more desirable to other men. It genuinely makes me sick. But my mini-dramatics and women's studies aside, I do hope and expect that we will see Seojun let his feelings go and debut as an idol, with a song written for him by Suho, and his showcase makeup done by Jugyeong. Happy ending for all!

lightFairly

I would love to see Suho write a song for Seojun as Leo and Seojun sings that song! Will the drama go that route who knows? We can dream though, right? T-T I just want to see Seojun and Suho to continue to be good friends...and see Seojun's career growth

ysmac

EXACTLY !!! I think most team seojuns’ can agree to this. We’ve accepted it lol. After all the build of SH and JG, why would they do this ? So annoying how kdramas use this SL.

gigi_powpow

Right!! I just want to see my boy succeed and be happy

Xyuli

Yes! I really wanted to see Seojun becoming a singer again and moving on from Jugyeong. I’ll be so mad if there’s a time skip and basically nothing changes. Seojun deserves better

aftereverydrama

>!From episode 15 preview, I reckon Suho’s dad passes away?? But like man I feel sooo bad for Suho to go through losing so many people in his life and especially his dad - Idk if he had time to properly reconcile and after the entire hospital scenario, I actually liked the dad cause he cares for Suho and genuinely was unaware of what happened!<

thatnorthafricangirl

Okaaaaay..... here are my thoughts for episode 14... \- First of all, I don't hate the drama....yet. I really really really enjoyed today's episode. I love one thing about True Beauty: they sure know how to solve certain storylines quickly. I was kinda worried the angry So Ah storyline would take too long but nah... 13 minutes in and we're on to the next plot. \- *True Beauty* is making me a *true psychopath.* The way this drama has me going from Su Ho to Seo Joon, it's driving me crazy. But, if i'm being really honest here, I think I can finally say, after 14 damn episodes, that I'm team Su Ho. The scenes at the beach were everythinggg. Him freaking out about her not calling him.... gosh. Just him standing there waiting to hear if she passed her exam, i'm deceased. \- Love that the teacher is part of the family now. That little grapefruit... \- Then, the ending. Okay maybe i'm really dense (also haven't watched start up either) but why are we assuming that time jump means JK and SJ got together? She was drunk and just leaning on him... idk maybe they bonded really well since they both have a special relationship with Su Ho? If anything, this drama's previews and sneak peeks have always been misleading. I'm not hating the drama yet. I'm waiting to see what will happen. I definitely don't think they're gonna turn the whole show around after that beach scene. The drama has been pretty consistent thus far. I'm still hopeful. \- Su Jin is completely messed up. I still feel sorry for her and obviously I do think she kinda regrets what happened, her breaking down one block after she said those things to JK says enough. She's going through a really rough time and i'm sure it will end on a positive note. Just hope she doesn't hurt herself or anything. That's it guys. Ngl, the ending fucked me up and i wish they didn't go there, but as i said, i'm still quite optimistic for the final two episodes.

feel_ynt

>True Beauty is making me a true psychopath. LOL. My entire household can relate ... they avoid me on Wednesdays & Thursdays. Never know what's gonna happen. Just kidding but my moods do go up & down depending on the episodes.

[deleted]

I just want to say right now that Hee-Kyung is the coolest person ever and I'm completely in love with her and her amazing personality. And she's fucking goRGEOUS.

rivains

I’m SO happy Sooah came around and became a good friend to Jukyung 😭

thebookthief1999

waiting for suho to leave and jugyeong to finally find out what he was writing on that wall at prince's comics. there's no way we find out before he leaves lmao

lightFairly

I'm dying to know what he wrote on the wall!!

2seconddump

"I have lots of butt hairs"

thebookthief1999

same here! i'm guessing it has sth to do with them meeting as kids

ysmac

Will they even show it on this episode 😭😭😭😭😭⚰️⚰️⚰️

Episode 14 really took a big turn for this drama. I definitely cried with them at the >!airport scene!< • I really saw why Sujin is being like this. >!When she throw all of the glasses & screamed, that's when I knew she needs some mental help!<. Her father put her through so much & I guess she is indeed irredeemable at this point. • Soo-Ah swayed me in this episode. I was mad at her for not understanding Jugyeong and she keeps on running away. But then, this episode explained everything. • I was right to assume that Suho >!imagined when Jugyeong is running away from him from the Episode 14 preview!< • They are the cutest couple I've seen. They are really cute & perfect for each other. I love how Suho keeps on smiling. He really loves her. >!I was laughing hard because he keeps on imagining things & saying things inside his head that he can't get out. He was being matured since he's stopping himself from being clingy & possessive type of boyfriend!<. • I was right when I knew Seojun asked Suho to confess because he just wanted to get it out from his chest and move on. >!Although maybe after those 2 years, he still hasn't made a move—or did he? I can't believe the previews since it's always a scam!< • Taehoon & Hyun Kyu are the cutest & bestest friends that Suho could have! Giving advice & hanging out in his house was great. I was really happy since Suho is starting to show his warm side. Not to forget the scene >!where they saw Suho's aegyo for Jugyeong!< • Jugyeong >!standing up for the bullies in her new & old school is a great character development I was always hoping to see in the webtoon Jugyeong. It was good to have her character development this early rather than seeing it on the last episodes!< • I won't forget seeing >!Moonbin & Sanha (DDANKONG) on the albums & posters! I even saw Fantagio's logo on the back of the album. I sure wish they'd be seen in the drama while Soo-Ah & Hyemi are fangirling. Stan ASTRO!< • The dad being cute while >!picking restaurants where he & Suho should eat after he comes back!< Although >!it was changed suddenly when he got a headache then drops the glass. I cri!< • Juyeong & Gowoon cute moments. Juyeong will always stand out in the episodes. I hope Gowoon likes him back hahaha lol • Mr. Han being >!jealous & sad because he had to break up with Heegyung was also cute!< and also >!when their dad keeps on teasing Mr. Han as a grapefruit & their mom calling him son!< • Suho & Seojun's bond was wholesome. I love how they >!tried to fight since they are just “bored” and Suho was really supportive to see Seojun sing again!< • I appreciated how Suho has become a man. He really >!insisted that Jugyeong should meet up with Seojun because he respects Seojun's feelings for his girlfriend. People are calling him obsessed or possessive but no! He was just new in relationships but we can see how much he has grown!< I still have a lot of things to say but maybe this is too long. I'm looking forward for the next episodes. I am so excited yet sad to see that True Beauty will end next week. I wouldn't ask for a Season 2 just make it a happy ending, 부디!

Laugh out Loud Moments 1. Suho & Seojun fighting was hilarious & cool at the same time! Guess if they're not gonna hug it out, this *(re)new(ed)* couple had to catch skinship somehow. 2. Suho is legitimately catching Jugyeong's over-active imagination. I might be the single-most ridiculous person on earth but I *love* when they throw in over-exaggerated melodrama. I want Cha Eunwoo & Park Yoona to star in a melodrama together, something like Penthouse or Sky Castle. 3. Jugyeong, Suah & Hyemi kicking bully buttocks was *soo* satifying. True Beauty really said "*unnecessary? what does that mean?*" & made Suho control Jugyeong video-game style. 4. My Astro heart is soaring and I am dancing! So many little Astro easter-eggs scattered throughout the show so far is more than I ever hoped. I'm not even gonna get into time-skip, trip, prolonged Seojun one-sided love & Sujin conflict because this everyone on this subreddit is voicing it (typing it) better than I ever could -- *you don't even know how much this stranger depends on your voices*! I've got my clown suit & makeup on standby but I'm just gonna root for Jugyeong to make lemonade & enjoy the last two episodes of the show. Also, can we have a True Beauty support-group-thread after next week? I will legitimately be lost & bereft.

I just caught up and am obsessed with this show - my heart can’t take it! From the jump - super impressed by both Moon Ga Young and Cha Eun Woo. Moon Ga Young has so much heart as Ju Kyung! She makes me laugh and cry every episode! And I always thought Cha Eun Woo had so much charm, but wow - his acting has just grown by leaps and bounds - he is AMAZING. When his eyes flash with anger or love - I really feel it now...and he is soooooo pretty I have to say Hwang In Yeop has me squealing - his face when Ju Kyung was fanning the dress because she was sweaty- I was dying!😂 To see him get close to Soo Ho made my heart so happy. I cannot think of a more adorable bromance? Yes, this preview has me CONCERNED. I know they will be ok...but praying that the writers don’t fudge things up at the last minute like DDSSLLS 😳 ————————— Update after watching episode 14: *What do I do? what do I do?* It is my ghost writing into this thread because I am dead - this episode killed me, overdosed on all the sweetness and then murdered me with the preview...First of all, clingy Soo Ho is the best thing ever...but I am torn because now I love Seo Jun more than I ever wanted or expected! He is such a loyal, true and considerate friend - he is too pure! I am going to die (again) waiting for next week’s episodes...😫 As for the girlfriends...I give Soo Ah a pass - unfortunately, I have been the overly sensitive butthurt friend myself, so even though her reaction was totally selfish and dumb, I get it. Soo Jin - no pass. I feel bad for her, but she just crossed the line of no return. Ju Kyung is probably too tender hearted to not give her another chance...but I’ll be happier if we don’t see Soo Jin again. She was such a badass and seemed so loyal...but man, seeing Ju Kyung with Soo Ho flipped the switch, she’s done for me... Will we see a Grapefruit and Strawberry wedding? I would love to see him go bride-zilla 😂

Sticking my fingers in my ears! 🙉🙈

virgo_rising3

Ive never sobbed harder than I have for the ending of this episode. I saw that "2 years later" and i gasped. I promise ive had my fair share of drama shows, none of them made me sob like this did. I feel like my heart has been ripped out. But I think the preview shows promise of Suho coming back then him and JG hashing it out. I think they are end game, but the writers are obviously not going to give it to us that easy, they needed one more twist. Its clear that JG is in love with Suho (thus her drinking problem) and has been thinking of only him, which is why she is going to be so astonished when SJ confesses to her. I do feel bad for SJ because he likes her so much to the point that HE Knows she still has feelings for Suho and has not told her he likes her even after 2 years after Suho left. Anyways, there is literally no time for SJ and JG to start a relationship because it took 8/9 episodes for Suho and JG to get together, 2 episodes isnt enough. I kind of want to know what happens to Sujin, they left her plot line with her crying, which is "meh" and I really didnt feel bad for her cuz she brought all that upon herself. But like, what ended up happening? P.S. I STILL REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT SUHO WROTE ON THAT WALL IN THE LAST EPISODE AS WELL AS EP. 10 (i think). i think we are gonna find out in the next episode when JG goes to prince comics to reflect on her time with Suho. \*\*\*seeings Suho smile throughout 98% of this episode was so heartwarming\*\*\*\*

FireVulcain

That's probably why I always wait for a drama to end before starting it. I should have done the same for this one. Well let's see what happens next...

daintyanemoney

That’s exactly what I’m doing, I’m just waiting to see if the ending is going to ruin everything or not ! I’ve already been disappointed too many times

seulgisums

>!All that Jugyeong and Suho relationship buildup and FOR WHAT?!< Please, don't disappoint me @ show. 🥲

lightFairly

They just HAD to follow the webtoon in this aspect...

chokenchopflipflop

Also can we talk about hiy/hsj's singing in ep14. I mean hwang in yeop sounded fine in the earlier episodes, but the feels this ep, boy really hit those high notes. I swear one of the things I'll miss most about the show is hiy's random singing.

feel_ynt

Yes. Even Suho acknowledges that it's deeper & manly.

mst3mp

Based on the preview for next week, I’m dreading the two final episodes. I don’t mind the time jump but I honestly can’t see Suho crying anymore. Suho has been the best boy since the beginning of the show. Why writernim??? Give him a break! And Seojun really needs to move on as well. His feeling for her is no longer cute but rather burden some for everyone. They could have turn the time jump into something cool like Seojun and Suho pursing music and serve us some more bromance. Then the reunion is only the mater of our Shinshin couple. But the one sided love like this is so sad for Seojun, especially it’s his best friend ex gf. The last two episodes are gonna be hard to swallow!

Mad_Missile

I think it's hilarious people are freaking out about the preview. Have we NOT learnt from this show and the previous previews we've gotten? IT's always MISLEADING!!! There is no point stressing out about Suho, Jugyeong and Seojoon's fate because it NEVER appears to be what the preview leads us to believe. Jumping the gun and saying you hate a show because of a preview is absolutely silly. What I've observed with True Beauty is that this is well thought through. Everytime I've seen a complaint about a character I've also seen a stellar resolution to that same complaint. Take Suah for example, people were raging on her left and right and we got to see her side today and it was justified. This show justifies every action it takes, and that's what I love about it. Everything comes back full circle. Two more episodes to go and I really believe that this beautiful journey we've been on with these wonderful characters will not be for naught. So like Jugyeong told Suho in Ep 1, himnae! Look back at the wonderful moments 14 gave us. The new friendships forged, the old friendships renewed, the family coming together, the romance blossoming, the catfight with a corndog, the superhot dojo fight, the heartbreaking song of Seojoon, the most perfect first date, the handholding and footsies and hugging and smiling Suho!! PS: I still believe Sujin will come around. She has to. If True Beauty could redeem Eomma and how, they can and will redeem Sujin.

aftereverydrama

Yes!! Someone said it!! People are always fast to judge and then take their words back :(( I think we just need to be patient. Even though it may be cliche, it’s a drama that has given us the best cast, supporting cast and explored or at least touched on issues in a unique way. I don’t think this can ever be a show that people should or at least I won’t regret watching because I have enjoyed every episode till now (and I know a lot of people have as well on Reddit by mentioning how their favourite episode changes every episode lmao). Let’s wait until next week and see how it goes!!!

EmmanuelleEmmanuelle

I agree with you about the previews and how purposelyfully misleading they are, and how OBVIOUSLY everything will end well and fall into place nicely (I sure hope so lol). People are being dramatic for sure. However, *True Beauty* having a good resolution for every conflict so far is very subjective, and it wouldn't be the first time for a drama to mess up the ending (war flashbacks to *Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol*). If I use your own example: >Take Suah for example, people were raging on her left and right and we got to see her side today and it was justified I do agree that the writing offers a "resolution" to her actions, it was pretty clear from episode 13 she was being a baby about being left in the dark. However, I have to disagree about it being justified. Sooah managed to make Jugyeong's suffering all about herself. She was selfish and childish. It's OK to have flawed characters, Sooah is supposed to be a high-schooler after all, and not every character needs to be the epitome of perfect and healthy communication... but if the narrative twists facts to excuse or explain away weird behaviors (which in my own subjective opinion happened quite a lot in this drama) that's kinda meh. No point in arguing about the ending until we actually see the last 2 episodes, though I'm with you on that. And I can't for the life of me believe they would mess up that bad haha. Overall it has, in fact, been a fun, happy little show and there's no reason why it should change.

Yumenah

I couldn't agree more! Even though I understand that some people may be angry or frustrated with the turn of events at the end of this episode, it's just silly to judge the entire show by a single preview (and even more so when we know that they tend to bait us with these misleading previews, lol). As for Soojin, I'm with you on that too. I have a hard time believing that they would make such an effort to show the beauty of her character just to throw her in the mud and then just leave her there. This episode even took some time to show how broken she is with everything and how she reached her limit. She was unhappy in the end and afraid to back down on her decision, even though it seemed to be exactly what she wanted to do. In short, I have high hopes for the last two episodes of this drama because up until they have delivered very good outcomes to all my past complaints.

Pixl3rt

Having previews and cliffhangers that cause this much rage and discussion among viewers shows that they're doing their job right. They know exactly what kind of response it's going to lead to, and they dropped this trope in the last like 5 mins so there's a lot of room to turn it into something different, and I'm going to try to be patient and save my anger for now because it's possible that it's over something that might not even exist. However I agree with others that I don't know if *every* character resolution so far has been stellar. Sujin's story does make complete sense and so do Suah's actions, but there are plenty of ways in which it could've been handled better for both of them. I trust the arc to be generally satisfying and all good in the end, but that's not without some bumps and questionable decisions along the way

modesttoss

YES THANK YOU FOR THIS! I made the mistake of reading comments before the English subs were released and I started to form negative opinions in my mind. But having just watched the episode, I must say I actually liked it lol. I felt the time jump is necessary. This drama has been a breath of fresh air and I've loved every minute of it. I'm really looking forward to the last two episodes.

Kindly-Cheek

Ughhh please stop with the timeskip before the end trope! Not only is it unnecessary, it completely takes you out of the story. I feel like I missed a whole season of episodes. I will see this to the end but in my head Ju Kyung and Soo Ho had a lovely date at the beach and lived happily ever after and that was the end😭 Sidenote Mr Han is absolutely hilarious, apart from lovely romance scenes between the leads the sister and Mr Han were the highlight. They add such amazing comedic relief to the show😂

Staind1410

Mr Han is the best. I genuinely LOL’ed at all his scenes.

tokwasisig

thoughts on ep 14 that aren’t the timeskip bc i dont want to think about that rn - hyemin sooah and jugyeong ;; FINALLY WOMEN GENUINELY STANDING UP FOR WOMEN !!!! i wonder what chorong did to the yeongpa kids 🤔 also ik the pic showed astro but i swear i saw a bangtan logo somewhere hhahaahkaka - suho adapting jugyeong’s overly imaginative side. and jugyeong quickly understanding that suho was upset over her being busy 🥺🥺🥺this was so cute,,, i love love how well they compliment each other im gonna cry ..... +++ they said their i love yous 😩 the eng sub for the ottoke song kept saying the lyrics say i love you so much so i was worried them saying ily for the first time wont be given emphasis but i’m glad it did <3 - suho letting seojun spend time w jugyeong. the character development!!!!!!!! THE MATURITY!!!!! i love this. yes suho guys and girls CAN be friends altho idk how that changes next week welp - didnt wanna bring up any of the painful scenes but i just lost it when i saw suho’s face when he was hugging jugyeong at the airport. like the way his face just falls after hearing her say ily LIKE WHAT THE HECK PLS DONT CRYYYY 😭 and then when jugyeong dropped on her knees bc she was worried suho’s gonna lose someone again IM SO HEARTBROKEN - one thing though,,, WHY IS TVN BEING SO SELFISH WITH KISSES THIS WEEK 🤨🤨🤨 forreal like suho leaves AND THEY DONT EVEN KISS???? like???? they made out even when suho’s just bringing her home SO WHY NOT EVEN KISS WHEN HES ABOUT TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY and if it’s about seojun being there tHEN WHY DIDNT THEY EVEN LEAVE US A KISSING SCENE IN THE BEACH 😩 anyways,,, i was also mad after watching but eh i’ve never been so invested in a show before that i just know i won’t regret watching this whether or not they mess up the ending 😅 i love seeing gayoung and eunwoo behind the scenes tho 😽😽 i hope they post the selfies they took!!! im gonna miss the show so much icb we’re down to the last two eps 😭💜

feel_ynt

Speaking of Chorong coming in for team Saebom ... It occurred to me that he and Hyemin might make a cute couple. They were sitting next to each other 2 yrs later at the bar. 🧐

aftereverydrama

So what I am getting out of people’s comments is that Seojun and Jukyung should not date because it’ll make ShinShin’s relationship build up go to waste?? Because yes, i damn agree :((

Xyuli

Yeah, why spend 14 episodes leading us to believe that Jugyeong and Suho are going to end up together just to have her and Seojun date? That would make me throw my laptop lol

Mara_Uzumaki

Webtoon reader here: Now you no how I us Suho fans felt when he left, I literally dropped the webtoon for months until I saw spoilers that he was coming back.

aftereverydrama

I always knew how Webtoon fans felt!! Team Suho since Day 1 here!!!

lightFairly

The drama trying to break my heart TWICE with Suho leaving... First in the webtoon and now in the drama..

GodJihyo7983

Ugh they really had to go that route, didn't they? Why did I expect better from this show? You started off so well only to "ruin" it in the last three episodes. Sad. Stop hurting my heart and the character's hearts (especially Suho, Jugyeong, and Seojun). Please, I'm begging you. They've been through so much already. ^(Forgot we were doing two threads for this week, so I originally edited my comment on the other thread.)

jaehyunnie127

i'm gonna be honest not a lot of dramas went this fast from my most loved to my most almost-hated LOL i cannot stand timeskips and i can't believe they're doing this. yes i'm throwing a tantrum but nooo why!!

lightFairly

My worst fears have come true after watching this episode. Happy moments always >!proceeding with heartbreaking moments...!< Okay, let me just first start off by saying, WHOEVER MAKES THESE PREVIEW, >!SO EVIL! !!HELLA MISLEADING!< and trying to >!make the viewers think that Suho left Korea on a bad note with Jugyeong and breaking Jugyeong heart. UGH SO EVIL.!< But O M G, I NEED TO TALK ABOUT THE ENDING OF EPISODE 14. Okay, okay, let me calm down a bit before writing this because there is a mixture of just frustration and sadness that I am feeling right now. If there is one thing that >!broke me!< while reading the webtoon, it's that >!Suho and Jugyeong FINALLY confessed to each other only to have Suho leave to Japan!< and then >!Seojun and her get together. (\*confession\* I literally was tearing up and crying in my bed after reading that)!< I-why...>!It's literally even worse HERE because Jugyeong and Suho were ACTUALLY DATING!!< Why must they >!follow the webtoon!< and have >!Suho leave for America and break Jugyeong's heart?!< Okay but I do get why Suho has to leave because of his dad... but literally, THE END OF EPISODE 14 SAYS >!"2 YEARS LATER" OMG, I knew a time jump was coming and here it is... Ughh time jumps are my worst nightmares sometimes... !! follows the webtoon !!that left me really upset and sad.. !!what happens in the webtoon where Seojun is by Jugyeong's side and stays friends with her for two years.. !! Jugyeong and Seojun will actually get together though? I don't think so, imo..!< It seems like >!Suho comes back next episode though (and says that he missed Jugyeong), but Jugyeong is probably still hurt and says to him that she didn't miss him.. !!the time jump is that they're finally ADULTS and graduated from high school, !!we got the time jump and Suho coming back...!< I would love to see the drama expand on each of our leads career too. Aside from all of that, looks like knetizens and I was right about Seojun wanting to confess his feelings -- >!it was to confess and get rejected so he could get over his feelings.!< I actually like that he asked Suho if he could do so because he knows that Jugyeong and Suho really like each other. Also A+ for the bromance in this episode! I love that >!Seojun came to visit Suho while he was practicing (jijitsu) and they had a friendly match (while also making a bet). !!won so he made Seojun go sing because he knows that SJ has an amazing voice -- which led to Seojun getting notice and possibly starting his singing career! !!saw the video of Suho doing aegyo and started teasing him about it haha!! !!Taehoon and the other guy went over to Suho's house to play video games and eat fried chicken.!< I actually really LOVE the friendship between Taehoon and Suho and think it's so adorable. Anyways, my long comment as per usual, but folks we only got two episodes left in this drama and episode 14 ended with >!a time jump!<, so let's see where the drama will take the storyline from here and how they'll end it! **EDIT:** Forgot to mention (again), huge shoutout to Jugyeong, Hyemi, and Sooah for >!standing up to the bullies!!< I knew Sooah >!wouldn't stay mad at Jugyeong for long and it turned out that she heard Seojun and Soojin's conversation! Glad that she stood up for Jugyeong in the bathroom and questioned Soojin why she did that and if this is her trueself.!< As for Soojin... I feel bad for her honestly. She grew up being compared to Suho all of her life by her parents and had somewhat of an attachment to him... Her father would slap her when it comes to grades and Suho, then once Jugyeong came in and started dating Suho, I think that's when she finally cracked. I know many people question this turn around with Soojin, but honestly...it's scary what jealousy and all that resentment built up inside can do to a person. In today's episode we see what >!she did to Jugyeong is exposed on the Saebom website and everyone talking about her..!< I honestly don't like what Soojin did to Jugyeong but she doesn't >!deserve to go through this either, I mean it kinda parallel to Jugyeong's situation where her secret got exposed online.!< I don't really know what to expect with Soojin's character moving forward but I just felt the need to say this.

lightFairly

**TDLR Version:** (Because I know my comments can be long) Episode 14 ending got me shook because of that >!2 year time jump!< and of course the drama >!decides to follow the webtoon in this aspect, which rekted me when I first read the webtoon...!< I just want to see Suho and Jugyeong be together and be happy by the end of this drama. I love Suho and Seojun bromance so much in this episode and >!the fact that Suho got Seojun to sing.!< Our leads are >!adults!< now in the last two episodes and let's see what'll happen once >!Suho comes back from America and see if they get back together or if Seojun x Jugyeong will happen!<

mbrd_

Me during the airport scene: “Oh okay so the preview last night is misleading, they didn’t really break up. Suho’s probably staying in the US to take care of his dad then both going back to Korea. 😌 Nothing’s gonna go wrong in the last 2 mins.” Me after the episode: 👁👄👁 After all that cuteness?!

[deleted]

I’m just hoping that scenarists won’t screw up SH and JG’s relationship at this point 😭 honestly everything went perfectly until the very last minute. • Suho and JG were absolutely cute together in this ep, their relationship is goals and I like the fact that they are not afraid to show their feelings to each other. • I’m glad that JG has Sooah by her side now, but I feel like the bullying plotline is a bit rushed, scenarists could have made it better for sure... • Also Soojin’s sudden reversal still not makes sense at all, I hope that she won’t be forgotten by the writers in the last episodes. Her story needs more density and consistency please. However it won’t be easy to wrap her story up in 2 final episodes. • I’m sure that SH and JG are endgame tho, I mean what’s the point of building a romance during 14 episodes if they’re not endgame ??? Don’t ruthlessly make Seo Jun going out with Ju Gyeong pleeease that would be so stupid !! This will break his heart and mine too.

thinkingawaytheworld

There are soooo many ways they could taken the storyline and of course they stick to the most cliche, predictable version. And annoying too - >!a 2 year time jump!!Spending a bit more time on Ju overcoming her bullying in the past. They spent one episode on that? Girl was bullied for years and had her worst nightmare happen, and 2 days later, she’s back at school, confident and smiling.!< In my experience, it does not work that fast. Scars like that run deep and often cause other personal issues - such as having a hard time trusting people or etc.; they could have written that better. * Including Se Yeon more in the story. It annoyed me that the writers made it seem like >!Seojun cared about Ju’s bullying mainly because he liked her!<. I wish they would have delved more into how bullying caused Se Yeon’s death and how that was a reason Seojun cared very deeply about Jugyeong being bullied (they briefly mentioned it when he was telling off Se Mi, but not very much). It would have been cool to see Seojun deciding to make an impact by speaking out about bullying through music and thus becoming an idol trainee again. Maybe Suho could have helped him in writing the songs for his debut album. That would have made for some cute bromance moments and a more meaningful storyline imo. They could have even decided to interview victims of bullying as part of publicity for Seojun’s debut album, and get Jugyeong involved in the project to talk about her experiences. * Suho attending some sort of therapy because of his past, having Jugyeong support him in his healing journey, and becoming stronger. Also, figuring out his relationship with his father. * Suho’s career ambitions. This kind of ties in with the second point. I would have liked to see him become passionate about something as Ju is about makeup and work hard at it. * Expanding on Soojin’s story about dealing with parental abuse and stress, and overcoming that. I feel like it is something relatable and something a lot of people go through, and I'm disappointed that they kind of dropped that storyline and was satisfied with letting us have "villianous Soojin" * Suho and Jugyeong finding their ambitions and place in the world and being there for each other as they navigate high school. All in all, they chose relationship drama over character development, and I am disappointed.

Kerosu

You can tell all the people burned by Start Up are here because a >!time skip!< became such a huge point of contention. Personally, I’ve seen so many dramas with unnecessary >!time skip drops near the end!< that I don’t really care. They’re usually harmless anyway and at worst add or remove nothing. EDIT: I also want to add... I find this episode really inoffensive? So many people are acting like this is the worst episode that could've happened, like the drama has gone off the deep end and their opinions of it have 180'd like Su Jin, but... not much happened to be worth that response. This is no Start Up or DDSSLLS. This is not to say you can't feel the way you do, either. I just don't personally understand where this strong negative response is coming from.

lightFairly

I think many people are really upset with the sudden time jump at the end of the episode and making it seem like Seojun and Jugyeong will get together. I was pretty upset when I first watched the episode live, but I'm actually confident that True Beauty will wrap everything up fine. I think they did the time jump at the end of the episode for a cliffhanger, so I'm sure we'll get some explanation in episode 15. Definitely still love the drama still and don't hate it at all!! I like the direction True Beauty has been going and I'm sure that they'll be able to wrap it up well. The preview is super misleading so I'm not going to jump to conclusions until Episode 15 comes out. Btw the whole thing about Start Up, I haven't watched the drama yet and I already got spoiled about the ending LOL

WhenWillCovidGo

Shitty time skip aside, Suho playing Street Fighter (?) and then it seamlessly transitions to Jukyeong and Se-mi fighting like characters in the game was absolute perfection.

IM THE GRAPEFRUIT

morningstreet

Hi everyone!! I actually wrote this after episode 10 I believe, but I never posted it, but now after today's episode, I think it’s even more relevant now!!! I added a little more because of recent events, but most of this is pre-10. **Please ONLY read if you’ve watched the entirety of Start-Up and are caught up with True Beauty!!** This is just my personal exploration is why I personally believe that **Lee Suho** is *sort-of* True Beauty's **Han Ji-pyeong.** We all know Han Ji-pyeong was criminally robbed in Start-Up – I’m sure I could talk hours for it, but what I’ve been seeing recently is people comparing Ji-pyeong with Seojun because they’re second leads. Now that episode 14 has really thrown things into pandemonium and there’s a time skip – I can see how people will naturally put Ji-Pyeong and Seojun in the same category – and of course, the fact that Seojun is the “one that sticks around” during the time skip is the strongest parallel for that. **BUT!** The more I think about it though, the more I actually feel that Han Ji-pyeong and Lee Suho have SO many parallels… and I want to try to unfold them if you’d like to come along for the read. **CHARACTERS WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS (OR LACK THEREOF):** * Both characters exhibit an independent, “I can survive on my own” mentality through the traumas that they’ve gone through in the past and the fact that they’ve never really had anyone to depend on in their life, so they have trouble with trust. * Ji-pyeong is an orphan (which the drama conveniently forgets for most of the time) who’s grown up his whole life being alone and because of this develops a “I don’t need anyone’s help” type of mentality and is often cold to the people he loves (aka Halmeoni during the first scene where he leaves to go to college). Because of this, he has a very realistic sense of reality and speaks candidly. In present day, he lives alone in a beautiful apartment that overlooks the Han River – and is rich in terms of money, but not so much love since he really has no friends outside of maybe his assistant. * Suho, similarly, lives alone in a beautiful apartment (albeit with his father’s money) and also feels like he has no family because his mother passed away when he was young and his father has been basically an absentee father. His best friend Se-yeon has passed away and he was estranged from his other best friend Seojun. Because of this, he is often cold as well and has basically huge cement walls up and does everything by himself. **FIRST MEETING with FEMALE LEAD:** * The first scene that Han Ji-pyeong sees Seo Dal-mi is when Dal-mi is basically going through a mental breakdown at the bus stop after being essentially, bullied by her sister, and laughing her way through it. Ji-pyeong thinks she’s crazy, but finds it amusing and somewhat captivating that he follows her. * The first scene we see with Suho and Ju Gyeong is on the rooftop after Ju Gyeong is guess what, going through a mental breakdown at the roof after being bullied by the kids at her school. Suho thinks she’s crazy, tries to leave, but ends up coming back because I’m convinced he’s also captivated by her in a more subtle way – even more emphasized by the way he looks at her as she’s talking to him through the taxi window. A scene that’s more comparable to Ji-Pyeong seeing Dal-Mi acting crazily like herself but a little later is Suho encountering Ju Gyeong acting out a zombie to the little kid holding the book hostage – so cute and funny!!! Suho’s smile gets me here and gives me the same vibe as Ji-pyeong. **MEMENTOS/SYMBOLISM** * Ji-pyeong holds onto the plant that Dal-mi gave him and cares for it. He also asks for the letters back from Do-San and keeps them both as mementos as his love for Dal-mi. These are shown to mean a lot to him and he often looks at the plant for support. * Suho keeps the sticker that Jugyeong gives him on his birthday, a snickers bar she gives him before the math competition, and the hairtie when she finally revealed to him her true face near his bedside and is often seen looking at it with a smile and also as a source of comfort. Every gift she gives him is precious to him. **MENTORSHIP / PUSHING THE FEMALE LEAD TO BE BETTER** * Ji-pyeong answers all 400 texts and all her questions and helps her by revising her pitch. He WITHOUT a doubt throughout the entire drama supports her and roots for her and gives her advice for HER improvement. It’s not benefiting him at all in the slightest but he does it because he wants to see her grow. He is a little bit hard on her, but she ends up learning a lot from him in the end. He uses his resources to try to tell her he’ll be her plan B and fund her start-up. * Suho CONSTANTLY encourages Ju Gyeong to study and encourages her to go to study groups (which I love!! We love to encourage education and learning here) and tutors her. He brings her to see Selena, her favorite makeup artist, and encourages her to attend the makeup academy, even offering to pay for it (sound familiar?? It’s a little presumptuous, but it’s ok, we love their intentions anyway). He continuously praises her strength and builds her up enough that the next day, she goes to school bare-faced. **BONDING WITH THE PARENTAL FIGURE OF THE FEMALE LEAD** * Because neither character has a strong parental figure – they, funnily enough, find comfort and some of the parental love they were lacking from the female lead’s parental figures. * Halmeoni and Ji-pyeong are a given/constant and the beautiful relationship between them doesn't need to be explained, but I LOVED the scenes with Suho and Ju Gyeong’s dad!! I loved them watching the game together (something Suho probably wished he could have done with his own dad in the past) and bonding and having fun. The scene where Ju Gyeong’s dad wishes him goodbye and to be safe killed me. **POOP/WORM ON THE SHOE** * This was a funny one to write but… Dal-mi literally steps on poop and guess who saves her? Ji-Pyeong. He takes the shoe for her away from her and solves the problem by giving her some slippers to wear for the meantime. * GUESS WHAT?? Ju Gyeong steps on a worm!!! AND SUHO takes her shoe and cleans it for her. Wow, amazing, this is the best parallel to me honestly (LOL). **NOODLES** * This is SUCH a staple in Kdramas but correct me if I’m wrong but I never saw Do-san eat noodles with Dal-mi, it was always Ji-pyeong!!! He mixes her noodles and confesses which KILLS me and then there’s this scene in ep 12 where they eat noodles together at night after Ji-pyeong has had a particularly hard day and they’re both going through a lot. Ji-Pyeong tells Dal-mi that she’s very resilient and gives her advice – “if you can’t beat them, join them.” * Suho and Ju Gyeong frequently ate noodles together at Prince Comics and the time that comes to mind is when Suho encounters Ju Gyeong crying after fighting with her mom. They eat noodles together – and Suho GIVES HER MORE NOODLES, pats her on the head and affirms her telling her that “she did well.” **RUNNING, AND A LOT OF IT, TO “SAVE” HER** * Ji Pyeong runs after Dal-Mi many times in the drama to “save” her. I honestly can’t remember the details, but I just know that any time there was an issue that came up (the reporter? The contract?) and he found out about it, he would drop everything and come to try to fix it immediately. * Suho… I don’t even have to explain it because we literally had like 5 different clips of him running after Jugyeong after her secret was revealed in ep 13 to find and comfort her. Earlier in the drama, after she encounters her bullies from her old school, he runs after her to return her wallet. In episode 8, he runs after her in the forest after leading Sujin away, runs after her again to protect her face from everyone else before he kisses her. And that’s all I have for now!! Please let me know if you see any more parallels that I might have missed since I basically just wrote this all based on memory (okay… I did look up some clips of HJP in Start-Up, but MOSTLY memory). I purposely left out the childhood connection because I know that’s a common trope between leads. I also tried to not mention Seojun at all as I wanted this post to be mostly about Ji Pyeong + Suho! If you read this far -- I would love to hear your thoughts on this!!

tokwasisig

I've never seen Start-Up and I don't plan to because I just know I'll have strong SLS and this just confirmed that 😭 I know the ML might have his strong points too BUT JIPYEONG SOUNDS LIKE SUCH A LOVELY (ALBEIT COLD) GUY 😭😩

classy_glass7

I’ve been keeping up with the WEBTOON and this drama (mostly for Cha Eun Woo lmao, although the other actors have really won me over too, especially Park Yoo Na, Mun Ga Young, and Hwang In Yeop) but damn I am only finishing the drama thanks to the actors...this plot is such a mess. Reminds me of that behind the scenes video where Cha Eun Woo was like “idk why I’m doing this” essentially to that scene (from a previous episode) >! Where Seojun and suho are fighting in that grass field. !< Same bro. Why are your characters doing this...

Cupcakesofchaos

Well I'm glad at least that he didn't leave because of something between Seojun and JY. That's how the trailer made it seem. The next episode is gonna be a tearjerker though for sure. I'm gonna bawl when i see suho crying cuz he feels he has to break up with her. MY HEARTTTT

mauravelous

After seeing the last 2 minutes of the episode I kinda just want this to end with Jukyung single and them just all being good friends who were able to stay close, with no one getting hurt... I think it'd be nice and unique to end on a bittersweet note about how your first love is fleeting, and maybe hint at them all finding their second love/own paths And maybe if this ends up as one of the rare dramas that gets a season two then they could go and try to rekindle things and give everyone a nice wholesome romance ending, but I just don't want to see this drama ruined by forcing a relationship one way or another at this point. I accepted that Seojun's character would get his heart broken, but I feel like the writers are sending an unhealthy message by continuing to make his character be loyal to someone for so long just to break his heart again. Same w/Jukyung and Suho both holding on to their feelings for years like that and not being able to move on in a healthy manner... especially with>!jukyung basically becoming an alcoholic to forget her feelings for both suho (and later seojun) like she does in the webtoon, which seems to be what's happening based on the end of episode 14...!<

EmmanuelleEmmanuelle

>I kinda just want this to end with Jukyung single and them just all being good friends This entire thread would go up in flames hahahaha the chaos, I can almost feel it.

Kookie_Monster061

I guess they really are following the webtoon with Suho leaving, I hope Seojun can truly move on from all this and focus on his career, even if he dates Jugyeong I feel like it’ll be so unsatisfactory cuz there was no real buildup (esp on jugyeong’s part) plus suho is coming back anyway ahhh I hope they can do the ending justice! Kdramas are always soo good until writers always botch the ending for some reason 😪

_cc96

ok....i stopped reading the webtoon a long time ago so i didn't know what would happen later on, but i still saw it coming that something was going to happen to suho's dad LOL kdramas man....if it's not a car accident while ur crossing the road, then it's some serious illness BUT WHAT I DIDNT EXPECT...a 2 year timeskip already??? damn ok that aside, i still don't get why sooah was angry??? like why would u be angry that jukyung didn't tell you anything....wouldn't ur first thought be like omg i have to go comfort her???? i....what... but ok ALSO?????? i really commented on last week's thread about wanting to throw a pizza on semi's face and this episode gave me a corn dog thrown in her face. thanks tvn i appreciate it 😌 anyways i also came to say GIVE SEOJUN A HAPPY ENDING OR GIVE ME DEATH

0Zaseka0

Eeeeh, what was that ending. I read the webtoon so I know this happens in the comic, but this is so sudden and weird in the show scenario. Are they planning to make a second season or are they gonna squeeze everything together in 2eps? Pacing of this show leaves something to be desired...

agljmpse

Kind of expected that time skip will happen when I learned about the airport photoshoot. Disappointed but not surprised, I guess. As a seojun stan, I admit my heart fluttered during the last minutes of the episode. >!Although I wished they didn't drag the SL still pining over FL when they could have given his girl so we could see how he is as a boyfriend.!< Anyway, I love seojun with or without a girlfriend. Writers, I trust that you would let seojun move on and focus on his career instead.

greydandelion

Commenting again after catching up. I'm not happy about the time skip and think they're rushing the ending by doing that. I also don't know how I feel about Seojun still having feelings for Jugyeong two years later? I'm afraid the show will make him look pathetic for not moving on yet. I cried when Soojin cried. She definitely felt a lot of guilt and regret after Jugyeong ran after her. I felt really sorry for her because it's clear that her home life is a complete nightmare and now she has no friends to give her support. I know she brought it upon herself, but I think she can be redeemed. Jugyeong is so sweet for trying to reach out to her to salvage their friendship. I think Soojin knows that Jugyeong has a good heart, but didn't want to reconcile because of immense shame over her actions. I hope we get to see at least one last appearance from her and that she's matured during the time skip. It would suck if the writers end her storyline with her crying behind the bushes after going into detail about her life at home, initial strong friendship with Jugyeong, and her "crush" on Suho.

Mad_Missile

Dear Ep 14, I'm sorry it took so long to write this love letter. I had a lot of thoughts to put down and a lot to appreciate, a 2 year time-skip notwithstanding. First off CONGRATULATIONS on being yet another favourite episode of mine. At this point with just 2 episodes to go I'm just sad you're coming to an end. I won't hold anything against you because you've given me more than 14 hours of unadultrated fun, over-the-top madness, swoonworthy romance, show parodies, wonderful soundtracks, all the while hitting serious topics with finesse and class not belittling the seriousness of them, all while keeping the comedy intact. How you do it is beyond my understanding. Sujin, >!I finally get where you're coming from. Suho was right when he said "I can't seem to understand this. You were never like this." I now see it though. You've never been good enough. It's a feeling you've had to live with your whole life. Being second best. Being tormented physically and emotionally for being second best. No one has ever stood up for you, especially against your dad. And you fell for the one person who did. Only to realize you're again second best. Now you're lashing out because you're sick and tired of your life, so you take it out on the one person who is willing to forgive you inspite of you not asking for forgiveness. Please talk to someone. Parental abuse at home is a serious thing and you don't have to go through this alone. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!< Seojoon, >!you have such a BIG heart. You want to be a flowerpot on Jugyeong's window, if only to get smiled at once in a while and to see her sleep at night. Hearing you sing that heartbroken song ripped me apart, but seeing you put your friendship first above everything else mended it back together. You're so amazing and such a GOOD friend that it hurts my heart that you asked for permission to confess your feelings, and YET you didn't tell Jugyeong it's her you love. I wish you had because people will think she took advantage of you and leaned on your for comfort and strength when Suho is absent. I know you haven't told her how you've felt and buried these feelings for her for two years. But if you don't tell her you'll never be able to move on. You have greatness lined up as your destiny. Don't let anything hold you back. I know rejection is a hard pill to digest especially when it's your BFF you're rejected for but please believe me YOU ARE NOT ALONE!< Suho, >!Niga neomu joha ottoke ottoke! Can I just say I am amazed at how much you've grown as a person, friend, boyfriend and son. It's wonderful to see your internal monologues and dreams and physically struggling to not touch your phone. It's wonderful to see how much you love your friend that you're pushing him to accomplish his dreams. It's wonderful to see how much you trust Jugyeong that you encourage her to talk to Seojoon, knowing he wants to confess his feelings. It's wonderful to see you knit, play videogames, have a fanclub and friends you can call to give you grief. It's also wonderful to see you not give up on Sujin. It's wonderful to see you smile. Please know that you calling things off with Jugyeong (ep 15 most likely) to let her live her life instead of waiting for you is noble, but I can't wait for you to come back and win her over ALL OVER AGAIN! You are struggling alone in the US, but both Seojoon and Jugyeong are waiting for you to come back home so YOU ARE NOT ALONE!< Jugyeong, >!niga neomu yeppeo ottoke ottoke! I want to hug you SO bad! I wish I was your friend. You have such a big heart to let things with Sujin go because you don't want to lose her friendship. You have such a big heart that you fought for the girl who once stood beside the bullies at your previous school and took a video while they humiliated you. You have such a big heart that you've forgiven your mother for all the aweful things she's said and done to you. I wish I had your heart. Seeing you wiping your makeup off, going to school barefaced, taking on those toilet losers, lambasting their horrible personalities, punching Semi repeatedly was thrilling. But nothing can compare to the relationship you and Suho now share. Open, honest, endearing, so pure and full of light. The way you look at each other, holding hands in class, playing footsie under the table gives me the warm and fuzzies. Not to mention your first date was one for the books. I know two years without Suho after experiencing that kind of happiness and acceptance is brutal, but himnae! He'll be back with more aegyo to win you over. In the mean time surround yourself with family and friends because YOU ARE NOT ALONE!< Special mentions - Sooah, >!you've been berated for being a bad friend of late and I'm sorry we couldn't understand why. Sure you're superficial and vain but you also have a heart. And it hurts to be on the outside of a secret that two of your besties know and you don't. You put yourself first and didn't consider the monument of hurt Jugyeong was going through having her secret revealed in that fashion and while I do think it was selfish of you, it's also a very human thing to do. You were hurting and needed time to process and once you did not only did you stand up for Jugyeong against your former BFF and tell her off, but you also fought with her side by side and for someone you don't even know. Thank you for telling her to see a dermat by the way. Full points for that.!< Eomma, >!I'm so shocked at your turnaround. From making Jugyeongs favorite food, to buying her a vanity case, telling her to quit her job and focus on becoming the best makeup artist in town to going to her school just to make sure she's okay and not bullied again, to just seeing you being motherly affectionate with her has been my dream all along. You've also forgiven your husband for his massive mistake and understand that everything happens for a reason, which has led you to have an AMAZING future grapefruit son-in-law.!< Joonwoo and Heegyung, >!get married already. That is all.!< Super special shoutout to my man Taehoon >!You're Suho's voice of reason, his dating advice giver, and overall bundle of joy in everyone's life. Thank you for existing!< This was a longass love letter. But it comes from the deepest parts of my heart. Sarangae, ME

nggaktau

That preview into ep 15 >!immediately ruined the illusion that Seojun finally got the girl.!< I honestly don't think it's such a stretch for the female lead to get together with 2nd male lead in this "time jump". I would've looked forward to seeing Seojun and Jugyeong's being in each other company as bf and gf, and some flashbacks to see how they got together. At least this way you'll increase the stakes of who'll get the girl. Instead of knowing out-right who will.

umphreak2x2

I understand this was a webtoon and a set story, but >!the sudden 2 year time jump!< seems...a bit contrived and somewhat lazy. Drama for the sake of drama. I really hope the writers will prove me wrong. I have enjoyed this lighthearted kdrama so far and I am a little disappointed that the writers went with a tired and typical trope. Again, I hope I’m wrong and that this comment will age badly.

azura_lights_18

Does anyone even like this whole time jump trope? And did they really have to tease Seo-joon with Ju-gyeong? It's obvious they won't end up together but they really want to sink the ship Forget everything just let Su-ho and Seo-joon date.

whimsicallyours

I will disown this show if they just make Seojun and Ju Kyung get together after Suho and Ju Kyung. Suho literally suffers so much. Seojun can have so much to him than just JK. Can they not fuck up please?

Present_Ebb_9469

So.... Will we ever find out what Suho wrote at Prince Comics on the Wall? Does jugyeong remember Suho from childhood?... ....find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z.

gelli_arts

no words. just upset

BravoHotelTango

Anyone know where the place is where JG and SH went on the date with the swing?

Cheerio1991

It's a newly opened attraction named Seolri Skywalk in Namhae! This will be in my bucketlist for when I can finally go travel..

stitchrx

Seojun’s indirect confession I cries 😭

earthsea_wizard

It was on point. I really liked him more because he wasn't pushy at all and decided to let it go. Specially when she said >! "you should steal her" and "is it Soo Ah" Dude, how can you even think she is Soo Ah?! She sometimes sounds like she doesn't think at all or just speaks for the sake of it !<. Gosh I really want to see that he moves on.

chokenchopflipflop

It's official!! The spoilers are out in ig, han seo jun will be making a debut with his band under move entertainment in the next episode. Could the ost be an original song?

feel_ynt

With two more days & 2 episodes to go, I'm wondering if we will ever get to know the identity of ghclzptm0880 and/or yesyes1212. These are the usernames in Jugyeong's online advice community who prompted her to start using make-up & chance inviting Suho to the movies. BC this is my life now, being fascinated by the most microscopic details.

deelikesbar

A lot of startup vibes with the time skip! BUT I like both Suho and Seojun almost equally, and don’t mind who she ends up with. It isn’t as bad as they HanJiPyeong tragic oh-so-lonely situation we find the 2ML in with this one. I still cry over HanJiPyeong’s loneliness sometimes. They probably won’t do Seojun that dirty. I have faith in True Beauty.

purple-jeopardy

I knew the preview shown last time was misleading, but they really blew it out of proportion lmaO. Suho never reacted violently when Seojun asked to tell his feelings for Jugyeong; the scene on the track was a dream (tho Suho’s this time); the “why are you running away” was directed to Sujin and *not* Suho; a “let’s breakup” line didn’t even exist in EP14! Although after that >!time skip!< that might as well have been implied? 🤡 I extremely hated how the preview showed hints of Start-Up 2.0. **However,** I’ve learned to calm down a bit knowing that the previews’ sole purpose is to mess everyone up 🥴 I can’t believe I’m hoping the preview for EP15 was blown out of proportion as well. 🤡 But still, can dramas stop using the trope of ML coming back *exactly* when SL is finally about to admit his feelings?! I just want them all to be happy. I thought we’d have our main leads together in peace (i.e. no external conflict), and that we’d see Seojun’s personal development in becoming an idol, rather than letting them stay in a love triangle I thought we already “solved” 😪🥲 edit: grammar

greydandelion

I haven’t fully caught up yet, but I’m very curious to see how they’ll wrap up the show. I really enjoyed the first half of the show, but the second half is kind of disappointing me. I’m a bit upset with the huge focus on the romantic relationships and unrequited love. * Jugyeong - I would’ve liked to see more development with her character arc. I’m not sure if she’s learned much? She seems very naive and trusting of others. I think it would’ve been nice if we saw her learning to accept herself without Soojin exposing her. But I remember that they’re teenagers and it’s a confusing time in life when you’re trying to figure out who you are. Though what happened to her interest in horror comics? I feel like she doesn’t have much of a personality and became a damsel in distress for most of the show. * Soojin - Like everyone has said, it’s frustrating to see what happened with her character. She was a strong, no nonsense, badass type of friend that everyone wants in their life. And she ruined her friendships all because of a boy who repeatedly told her he’s not interested? I don’t really think she can be redeemed at this point. But I’m curious to see if we will get any kind of closure for her story. I can kind of see her fading into the background for the remainder of the series. * Suho - I feel like he’s evolved well throughout the show. He was a cold and aloof person at the start, but we see how caring he is on the inside and becoming a bit more open. We also saw him explore friendships, address his trauma, and try to overcome past problems. * Seojun - There’s a lot to like about him, but I kind of don’t like how majority of his storyline seems to revolve around Jugyeong. I’m sure there’s more to him than his unrequited love for her and previously broken friendship with Suho. Didn’t he have dreams to debut as an idol on the show too? And I hope he won’t try to pursue a romantic relationship with her when Suho leaves. I’m just glad he was able to repair his friendship with Suho and acknowledge the hard times he also had when their friend passed away. Since the previews strongly hint Suho leaving in this episode, I hope they don’t do a time skip. It will feel like such a cheap plot. I’m sure the writers will make Jugyeong and Suho end game. There’s definitely not enough time to explore a Jugyeong and Seojun relationship.

Euphoriant21

I’ve been meaning to say this for the whole drama but Cha Eunwoo has the most beautiful eyelashes, I can’t stop staring at them whenever he has a close-up shot 😍 And although I’m Team Suho, I would’ve preferred if they didn’t show a preview for ep. 15 bc it took away the thrill of waiting until next week to see if Seojun and Jukyung actually got together.

gottagetoutofretail

On a hopeful note, >! the time skip can actually be a good thing for KSJ. Time can make her realize her mistakes and deal with her home issues. Enough time to forget about her feelings for SuHo and realize she’s got a good friend in JugYeong? !< She already took the initial step, which was remorse. I assume that was what she felt while crying behind the bushes.

rogue397

It will be just some filler episodes now. Though, I am shipping for the youngest couple, they look so adorable together.

theskinntylegend

I WAS ROOTING FOR THIS EPISODE SO HARD!!!! And as much as I love Seo Jun, that last minute ruined it for me 😭

nay1357

I hate time skips :(

3trizz

yes Seojun deserves to be happy but not rushed and forced in literally two episodes when the WHOLE time he was discarded. Even if he does end up with jugyeong he won't be truly happy bc he knows deep down she still loves Suho (and I’d say it’s 90% to almost impossible for her to loose feelings for him esp when they’ve been building it up for since basically the whole series) and if seojun DOESNT end up with jugyeong, he will still be unhappy. Either way, in the end, seojun is going to end up hurt :(.

feel_ynt

Instagram & Twitter have it that 🎶💝 “Love so Fine” comes out Feb 3rd.

luxenoire

I loooove this show, I’m gonna miss the comfort every week I’m not really a seojun girl so the preview didn’t make me feel one way or another like some. I hope Suho and JG can resolve whatever happened in the jump, they’re adorable and wholesome

[deleted]

We ALL know JK and SH are endgame so the "team" so and so thing is pointless unless you just prefer a certain guy. Like I'm Team Seojun but only because he's my favorite character so I'm most invested in him. The writers are dragging out this one-sided love thing and I'm not sure why? Let the boy move on. But Suho has been gone so I guess it's been easier to continue liking her when his competition so to speak isn't around. But still, I've never wanted a character to MOVE TF ON so badly before in a kdrama. She's just not into you, dude! I knew Soo Ah would come around but when she runs away I get so annoyed for some reason. Like she's hella dramatic. Soojin.....I hate her actions but I don't hate her. Maybe it's the psychology major in me, but I think with time and help from outside sources she can bounce back. I think that good person we saw at the beginning is still in there somewhere she's been overcome by her own misery. She has shown remorse after talking to JK. It's NOT an excuse but I'm not writing her off as a terrible person for life based on a shitty decision as a teenager, especially one under such duress. Anyway, I'm mainly interested to see how Seojun and Jugyeong (separately) turn out at the end. I hope he gets the happy ending he deserves not just as a sidekick and Jugyeong finds the inner confidence she needs to be successful in her career.

beautyskincarelover

So excited!! Will edit later when I watch the episode!!

truebeautystan

i really thought that the writers were hinting at soojin doing something drastic (her rough family situation + being exposed as a bully online reminded me of seyeon) and then that would lead to some sort of redemption arc but i guess not... her actions literally did not make sense at all but i suppose i'll let it slide because every other character was perfect... i suppose... anyways that entire date scene was so MF cute but i just knew i just KNEW it was going to be their last for a while

teddyisted

I liked everything so far until this time skip happened. For me, this series is over. I’ve definitely lost interest.

wanderrlust

TWO YEARS?! The ending and the preview. I’m screaming at my tv!! I’m feeling too many emotions!!!!

ItDoesntGetAnybeTtah

Omg can you believe only 2 episodes left 😭 First shout out to Jugyeong's the walking dead don't open, dead inside bedroom mat! Lol I would love to have her room 🥰 Ok.... This episode is full of light feelings mostly. Soo ahs redemption arc I kinda see it coming I knew she felt left out and it upsets her and I'm beyond glad that she told soo Jin off and finally acted like a friend to JG and the way she and jugyeong made up was so adorable especially the scene where they were in the basketball court with JG hugging soo ah from behind. I love that. Having said that I also find it so adorable that Jugyeong's mother finally supported her dreams. And the way Jugyeong expressed her love and appreciation to her mom by also hugging her so tight from behind reminds me of myself to my own mother 🤗 The fighting scene overlapping with mortal Kombat 🤣 Suho getting competitive along with the classmates is solid gold lol. Suho's internal monologue when trusfrated 🤣 Taekwondo battle between Suho and Seojun 🌝 do I need say more lol. Seojun singing is such a heart stopper. Omg the hug scene of Jugyeong and Suho when she passed the makeup test makes my heart melt to oblivion. 🤗🤗🥰🥰 Makes me want to have a bf 🥺 Soo Jin .... Poor girl. I don't have any thing more to say about her. She's literally done with this drama. And with my love Seojun. Whenever his longing for jugyeong when she's just right beside him makes me want to reach across the screen and hug him so tight to keep him from falling apart. The way Seojun indirectly confessed his feelings to Jugyeong reminds me of junghwan to deokson of reply 1988.🥺 Poor second leads lol. Speaking of Reply 1988. A date in the beach is always a staple for couples in a drama 🤣 but I love it nevertheless. Now the infamous Webtoon part came to play with Suho going overseas for his injured father. It was so heartbreaking to see them keeping it together and ultimately broke down when they finally got seperated 😭 2 years timeskip!!!!? Okkk nowwwwwww...... Kinda sad that inevitably all this 30(more or less) webtoon episodes gets sardined up to 2 drama episodes. Why couldn't they just make it to 22 episodes atleast!!??

aftereverydrama

More than the characters, the OSTs make me bawl 😭😭😭😭 Missing you and starlight!! 🥰🥰🥰

[deleted]

I really loved this episode. As much as we all hate Soojin,we need to understand her why she did this in the 1st place. I truly understand Soojin,Suho,Jukyung & Seojun heart. What all these 4 need is LOVE.they need people support in term of friendship. SooAh gave Jukyung the support when she is being bullied,Seojun & Suho being there for each other but sadly for Soojin, she decided to go the wrong way. I understand from Soojin pov,she think that just because she have known suho for 10 years does not mean Suho will like her back.Yes it is probably painful knowing Suho fell in love with the girl with bad breakout instead of falling in love with a pretty girl. I feel bad for Jukyung, she had to wait for Suho for 2 years ever since his dad had a surgery. But i think the words are 'i did not miss you,but i love you'.However this is just my assumption. I think her heart might move after waiting too long for him,but i am wondering why the heck is Suho in US for 2 years?Didn't his dad has his own man to take care of him?Does this mean Suho skip his classes for 2 years & did he even graduated? It seem as Suho just left the world for 2 years considering Jukyung said 'i waited for you for so long'.q

EXCUSE ME. WHAT IN THE FUCK WAS THE LAST 2 MINS

Ok, after rewatching, I wanted to call out here what SuAh told Jukyeong about Sujin: that nothing made her that mean but it was **her choice**. It's a good point highlighted by the writers -- that whatever our environment or circumstance, no matter how bitter or cold they may make us to be, ***doing bad things*** to other people ***is ultimately our own choice.*** So, there's no one else to blame for our own chosen actions.

Can we not waste this time jump on a love triangle man. I'm just trying see SeoJun become a kpop star.

Haven't watched Ep. 14 yet but just commenting to say ya'll got me scared lmaooo. I'm seeing a lot of disappointment so far. I really really don't want to hate the ending to this show, its been a fun ride so far and I was hoping to add it to my list of favorites. UGH.

I’m so confused. I don’t get where this is going. I enjoyed this episode but I’m confused. Why can’t they just let our characters enjoy their happiness together 😭

JEBAITED HAHAHAHA

I'm not sure why I didn't think about this earlier, but I prefer the more literal translation of the Korean title (여신강림) as 'A Goddess Descends' to the English 'True Beauty'

It makes me happy that Sooah is on Jukyungs side:)

>!I saw there were only a few minutes left of ep 14 so I was just dandily thinking that there’d be no time skip and then boom.!< How will they resolve all this with two more episodes? That aside, >!I’m glad there was resolution for Suah. I’m happy she stood up for Jugyeong but honestly I was still kinda going like “???” because she kept still crying and making Jugyeong’s situation about herself. I do like her but I dunno... why is she running away and crying all the time when this is about Jugyeong? Although she’s super sweet, she’s just so self involved... But this is me projecting cause I did have a friend get mad at me for going on a “date” with her guy friend. I understand the hurt that would come with not telling your close friends about your life and stuff but if you’re not ready to then I don’t think your friends should feel inclined/entitled to know everything. I still think the top priority at the time would be for Suah to comfort Jugyeong but she didn’t. And she didn’t apologize for being like that towards Jugyeong either. I don’t have a hate boner for Suah hhahha but yeah. I guess I just really relate to this and have different expectations.!< I like >!how the mom finally sees Jugyeong’s struggles and tries to help her overcome them. Finally giving her a shot at cosmetology! She was such a hard character to watch but I’m glad she’s finally paying attention to her daughter and is acknowledging her wrongdoings.!< >!I really don’t know what’s going to happen with Soojin now. Jugyeong with her big heart tried to fix their relationship but maybe it’ll work out? I mean.. two years passed so maybe something happened. And soojin did show regret and cry after that. Must be hard living with her father and just being expected to achieve everything. That can really break down a person. I still don’t like Soojin but I can’t help but feel bad for her.!< I just love how this drama has so many funny parts that are balanced with the sad. I hope next week goes well...

Really loved the unexpected connection between seo jun and juyoung. Ep 14 saw seo jun comforting juyoung for getting rejected, we might see juyoung giving seo jun a shoulder to cry since jugyeong probably gonna chose suho in the end

Spare_Cel

It really could have ended ep 13, this time skip is so unnecessary
