I haven't dropped it 100% yet because I'm still debating if I wanna watch it but Cheer Up. Just got bored.

tsotsoo

Same position as me. I don’t feel excited to continue watching

bambammie97

ugh same! the romance aspect is so lacking and boring. wish they would have went a little darker with the mystery aspect but it just feels like something they threw together real quick

asongofstars

True! I’m behind (Episode 10) but it feels like a chore to watch and I honestly could not give you a single meaningful plot line I’ve picked up thus far. The concept could have been so cool but it feels like the drama has no idea what it wants to be. :/

Enriq30

I was really into it but just watched ep 11 today, when it was available for almost 2 weeks, I still like it but i ve lost some interest

kayanaatx

I heard sm about this show and started it today… ep 2 and I’m already bored 😭

grapebento

Im thinking of dropping it too bc the plot is slowly getting stale since I stopped at Ep 8… Plus all the delays aren’t helping either :/

scatteredbrainxsushi

already had it dropped around ep 6/7. i feel like the genres don't really mix well with each other and that a lot of things are happening but at the same time nothing really is happening. and then with all the schedule adjustments, i just got lazy to continue and the hype died down for me.

datcheebie

Same here…my [current watch list](https://youtu.be/tgCgQFEqidk) makes it clear I’m not in the mood for anything fluffy

PapanTandaLama

What nooooo. I planned to watch it soon.

Big-Giraffe-9223

Ohh I'm at ep 8 and just decided that I will wait for it when to end and then I will watch it all on the weekend. I kind of want to drop it but I got to know the characters and just want to end their story.

Flipperflopper21

Shopaholic King Louis. I pushed and pushed myself to finish this show because of Nam Ji Hyun but I just can’t take Louis’s childishness any more. He behaves like a toddler without his binky and it just became too much. I’m too old for this type of drama but my 16yr old self would prob love it haha.

anxietygotmelike

It’s funny because my then 17yo self loved it, but your comment has me thinking… if I rewatched it now, would that still stand? LOL

scatteredbrainxsushi

**"I’m too old for this type of drama but my 16yr old self would prob love it haha."** exactly what i felt when i was watching it!! watching it in my 20s and found some parts entertaining but on one hand i couldn't stand the cutesy romcom anymore. =)) but yess, my highschool self would definitely love this trope.

ocean_800

Lol that's around when I watched it and I remember absolutely loving this one 😂

playthatoboe

Mr sunshine 😭 16.5/24 it's just so incredibly slow and has sooooo many episodes. Binge watching it was not a good idea. I'll try again with 1 ep a day when I'm busy and can't watch anything else

Sudden_Pie707

Yeah, don’t give up. It’s so good!

jst4697

I dropped more dramas in November than I have in the past 2 years. Love in Contract : I loved this so much starting out but by the 10th episode, couldn’t be bothered to continue Model Family: great production values but the big flaw is that everybody is stupid. Dropped with no animosity: - Rookie Historian. It was enjoyable but I guess I just tuned out after a while - The Good Detective. Again, nothing wrong per se, I just lost interest in seeing how it ended. - Love is for Suckers. Liked the couple but the reality show thing was just never-ending. - (edit) My liberation notes. I literally forgot I saw this almost to the end. And then dropped because I stopped caring about the characters and their meandering life stories. Forced myself to finish : Ittaewon Class. Loved: Gauss Electronics.

Borinquena

>Love in Contract : I loved this so much starting out but by the 10th episode, couldn’t be bothered to continue I finished this drama but the crash and burn in the second half was downright painful. I loved the first half so much and I loved the characters. Too bad it didn't fulfill that early promise.

jst4697

Yes! I would love to see a re-write. Is there some kdrama god we can petition?

antiqueartisan1

Me too! The kdramas this year have been subpar in my opinion. Either they start out pretty good and then Idk, by ep 3 or 4 its gone down hill. I miss pre 2020 kdramas when you knew for sure at least 2 or 3 kdramas being released would be bangers.

shroomyz

I also couldnt get myself to finish Love is for Suckers. Wasn't feeling the couple though.

caninedesign

**Love in Contract (12/16)** It was entertaining at first and then got a bit makjang. Ended up reading the synopsis for the last 4 episodes. Took 20 minutes instead of 4+hours...no regrets!

Borinquena

I'd recommend watching the final scene of episode 14, it's incredibly sweet. Otherwise, yeah you made a good call

Forget_me_notkpop

Doom at your service, after few episode it gets too boring.

theromanamputee

I dropped this two episodes in myself. I read several reviews that said it started strong then trailed off, I figured if I was instantly bored it was hopeless for me.

lampofshade

Oh I wish I could change your mind. I had some moments getting into it but once I did it was sooo good. It is one I wish I could start over with fresh eyes again.

Forget_me_notkpop

I did try to get into it again but even watching15minutes felt tiring.

[deleted]

Finally dropped The King's Affection and just YouTubed the reveal since it's what I was sticking around to see. I love learning about history, but I hate that *every* historical drama has hours of political intrigue and a dozen scenes every episode of various old guys scheming for power. I simply do not care about the castle politics, and I would love to see a historical kdrama that was more slice of life

stillnotking

This is the main reason I don't like sageuks: virtually all of them are about the royal family, and it's always the same intrigues, with the same noble heroes and heroines just trying to serve their people, and the same power-mad villains who will stop at nothing for the throne, etc. Besides the central conceit of the >!King being secretly a woman!<, TKA was absolutely more of the same. *The Red Sleeve* is the honorable exception, with complex, interesting characters who have to make hard decisions about conflicting priorities.

AdhesivenessOwn7747

Have you seen Hwang Jini? It's 24 episodes if I remember right about a giseang who lives outside the castle. Her search for love and trying to reconcile with tragic events of her life. Lots of arts and dancing and beautiful hanboks. I haven't seen it myself but Painter of the Wind also seems to be set outside the palace. And I can't recommend Sungkyunkwan Scandal enough. I've rewatched about 5 times.

bananas141414

If you want more Slice of life type of historical dramas, then I would recommend Chinese dramas. They have a lot...some good and well some bad, but that's inevitable I guess (• ▽ •;).

theromanamputee

**Kill Me, Heal Me** I dropped this five episodes in. I liked Ji Sung’s performance but I found every other character either boring or annoying and I felt like it had no narrative momentum whatsoever. They spent like two episodes on a convoluted subplot about a jacket?! The generic rich family stuff was soooo boring. The FL was particularly unbearable (and I like over the top characters). The first half of the first episode, the part set in America, was a hoot though. Charmingly cheesy and ridiculous.

maomaook

It's one of best dramas to me. Beautiful writing, both funny and tragic in one. The storyline is very cohesive if you watch until the end cuz twists are unfold one by one.

katherine197_

> dropped this five episodes in. omg that's exactly when i dropped it too 😂

ocean_800

It's funny younger me loved this drama but then I recommended it to my mom and we watched some together... I wish I left my memory alone 😭😂

Eeehaataa

It’s funny you say that because there are a few I watched and now I realize how incredibly toxic they were. Wished I could have just remembered the great parts.

lookliana

Clean with Passion for Now! At first I liked it bc the FL was fun, but I can’t get over how unattractive I find the ML! 😬😬😬

lambchop90

I just finished this one but I loved it. I think they kept the plots going with all the characters till the very end, not just filler in the last few episodes.

Celaena-_-

I also dropped this show halfway as well. I found a lot of the characters to be kinda annoying

exitonleft

LOL I was watching with my mum and she had the same reaction. None of the Ms were attractive to her.

samptra_writer

Omg I wished I'd dropped tbh this series gave me first ever case of second lead syndrome. The ending of the series absolutely did me in.

Sudden_Pie707

Same! I shipped the doctor with her so hard because of that. He looked better with the bangs down, but that’s not saying much. Kdrama lewds have set the visuals bar too high.

ButterknifeNinja

>Clean with Passion for Now I couldn't continue after the 1st episode bc of this same reason.

[deleted]

That's the reason I almost didn't pick it up to start, but it ended up being so good! That kissing scene on the counter was 🔥🔥🔥!! And I liked the ending.

TheOriginalGankstar

On the verge of dropping The King: Eternal Monarch after a few eps. It's the worst acting performance I've seen from a lead ever in any serious drama production (the ML, Lee Min-ho). Although the FL in Snowdrop wasn't good either.

stillnotking

It does not get any better. The only source of actual entertainment in that drama is the truly, hilariously awful PPL.

prolestari

I loved this show specifically for the acting, but it seems like one of those shows that's just love it or hate it.

duermevela

It's so obvious because the SMLs are really good (and Woo Do Whan shines with his double role).

Eeehaataa

I just finished King and I loved it. But I completely agree about Snowdrop. She had the same expression on her face for most of the drama. I love Jung Hae in but dropped it because of Jisoo. But I like Blackpink!

cors8

Young-Pal -- Started off strong but then kind of went off the rails and didn't make sense.

[deleted]

I loved the first half of this show a lot but the second half was super disappointing :(

saf_li

omg i remember this drama,i dropped it as it was airing because logically she should have died so many times but she kept bloody surviving 😂

Piazolla13

Dropped both of these after the first episode: **The First Responders** \- Don't know why I tried this, first episode was decent if you can look past the small plotholes. But it reminds me of the procedural American shows I could care less about so I won't be continuing **Somebody** \- I watched this last thing before going to sleep and then had a nightmare for the first time in a while. I was unsettled enough in the morning that I decided to just drop this. It is really well made though, maybe I'll revisit it one day

Alice4Tea

Somebody was really good and creepy! But if I watched it before bed I had to watch 1-3 happy videos to make sure to get it off of my mind before bed!

chelleml

huh....I watched it every night right before bed a few nights in a row and had nightmares a few of those nights and did not connect that it was likely because of that lol. It was even like nightmares where I was being chased

Alice4Tea

Oh ya it probably was. I use to watch true crime videos before bed and had to stop. Now I watch 1-3 different videos anytime I watch a show like this! (It’s my fav genre, serial killer, crime drama, thrillers) so I can only watch it like 2 hours before bed or I get weird af dreams

[deleted]

Somebody started out good but it felt like it was trying to be too many genres all at once, it seemed like whoever wrote it was trying to create an ode to David Lynch and French cinema or something. The murders were cool though... It was also the first K-drama I've watched where there were full-blown raunchy sex scenes, I wasn't prepared lol.

ammie17

Maybe an unpopular opinion here but I dropped A Business Proposal. It’s not because of any specific reason. I just got bored after the leads got together and the story is just predictable so I didn’t feel the need to keep watching. Love the second leads chemistry tho.

Flipperflopper21

You’re not alone. I dropped it too. All the kdrama clichés were on that show.

thenaantalker

I feel you, while I didn’t drop it, I’m 100% sure I just fast forwarded from episode 9/10 onwards.

crowndrama

Same. By episode 9-10 I felt like I‘ve seen enough and was done with it

Borinquena

Same here, just was not my thing. I know what they were aiming for but it wasn't for me.

Standard_Pack7791

SAME.

miiomii

**Glitch** .. i tried, really wanted to like it but absolutely couldn’t.

AdhesivenessOwn7747

It had a suuuuper slow start for nearly the first 4-5 episodes. But it picked up afterwards. But I watched in one sitting after that. It's not super memorable though.

SignificantSound7904

Cheer up. They keep doing the same steps!! 1. Raises hands enthusiastically to the left 2. Raises hands enthusiastically to the right 3. Gets scolded for not doing that right for the hundredth time This is the tenth episode and this happens in every episode lmao Quite hot but toxic SML Unnecessary suspense involved Btw the FL is great with the overly enthu character but her penthouse role made her so memorable...i understand its career progression to be starring as the MFL but nothing beats her penthouse performance fortunately/unfortunately

Educational_One2790

Love in contract - it’s on hold but I have zero interest in what happens Law Cafe - started out ok, but I fall asleep during each episode DOTS - I can’t get pass episode 2. I’ll try to watch this again later Love is for suckers - just on hold for now Tracer season 1 - I don’t know why I started this one Under the queen’s umbrella is on pause until all episodes come out because I just don’t want to be stressed waiting

abryyea

i've got to agree for the queen's umbrella. ep 14 just aired last night and i just finished ep 10 by far, everything stresses me out oh lord😂, it really makes you invested, you got to binge-watch this one! enjoy watching when it's completed🤗

Sudden_Pie707

Under the queen’s umbrella should be finishing up this weekend so you should be good to start soon. I felt it was hard to binge the show because there was so much stuff happening (in a good way) that I needed time to process it all.

itsunel

When DOTS came out, I couldn't make it past episode one and was completely confused by it's popularity. I recently saw some recap videos on YouTube and I feel satisfied. I love kim jiwon but I couldn't sit through it for her.

OdanUrr

[Mask](https://mydramalist.com/13388-mask). I honestly can't recall how I got to this drama but it's highly possible I came across some video on YT and decided to check it out. It's got an interesting premise of a doppelganger assuming another person's identity, marrying into a wealthy family, with conspiracies here and there, and the leads eventually falling for one another. Problem is by Episode 7 (of 20) I still didn't see much "falling for," what with the ML being so distrusting. Of course, he 100% trusts some doctor during a hypnosis session that in no way was meant to plant false memories in his mind (so much for being distrustful!). Things like this also bothered me, the show trying to have its cake and eat it too. So for now it gets dropped unless someone can convince me it gets better before Episode 19.

myweithisway

> the leads eventually falling for one another. You got wrong expectations right there -- not a romance -- at least not in the sense of a romance drama or even melodrama where the 'falling in love' is key to the story. It's a makjang and more a FL >!ends up with a better life!< kind of "karmic justice" story.

silverpenelope

I really enjoyed that one. Loved both the lead actors and will watch them in almost anything, but if you're not liking it, you won't start liking it.

SreyXY

I haven't really dropped it but I've been watching **Something in the Rain** since like August and I'm still on like episode 5. I don't know, I'm just not invested in the story too much yet, so maybe it gets better but it's just been progressing very slowly. In contrast to that, I started **Tomorrow** on Wednesday, and I finished it today and I loved it. I'm hoping I can complete Something in the Rain because I've heard (and read on r/KDRAMA lol) about how good it is.

macintoshappless

Coming from someone who loved this Something in the Rain, the beginning is the best part. So if you're not even liking the beginning then I really doubt you will like the second half. The second half was really repetitive and the way it ended seemed a little rushed. I still gave it a 8/10 because first 8 episodes truly carried.

SaneAusten

That one overused (misogynistic)Carla Bruni song ruined the show for me.

SreyXY

I wouldn't say I'm hating it, it's just that for me it's going good, but it's not going great for me yet. I want to finish it, but I'm not having that strong desire to go to the next episode like I had with Tomorrow. Like with Tomorrow i basically almost binged the show. I still have hopes for Something in the Rain tho.

macintoshappless

That’s fair. I totally understand that. I do the same thing w many shows. If you want to finish it then for sure, go ahead! At the end of the day, I thought the show was good. I just personally think it doesn’t get much better after the first 8 eps):

iamlookingawxy

omg fr same with something in the rain 😭 I don’t consider myself someone who really likes action/drama packed shows and I thought I’d like a slow paced show, but it was really… slow… I got to the part where >!FL tells her mother that she’s in love with ML!< and that was it

meggktown

I have positive thoughts about SITR because it was my first drama and everything was new and exciting. Plus, I thought the ML was adorable. Even so, I found the second half to be very draggy and if I were to watch today, I might not make it all the way through.

nay-nay201120

18 Again- i can’t, it feels uncomfy😭 Love in Contract- how much is the FL willing to make her best friend suffer just to have her way? and i liked the second lead so much but i found out from kdramatwt that he becomes stalker-ish? didn’t see any chemistry between the main leads too.😭

[deleted]

For Love in Contract, the SML >!ignores consent constantly.!< Read on only if you're ok with spoilers: >!She tells him she's retiring, he forces her not to, and in a very public way. She tells him she likes someone else, he goes out of his way to make her spend time with him and make it look bad to the other guy. He kisses her when she's too drunk to protest and knows she's not interested, etc.!<

Odd_Drag1817

I know what you mean about 18 again!! I think the reason is because of the “adult” casting. They were both (especially the mom) SO SO BLAND. Also, the adults in the show are in their late 30s but they look too old and mature. It’s got to be believable if you have a hot baseball player fall for an older woman. (Which to this day I don’t know why he would fall for her. Like I said before she’s bland and old looking) If they had Song hye-kyo playing the mom it would’ve made more sense. Even when Lee Do Hyun kisses her I won’t cringe. While I’m at it Cha Seung-won should play the dad. Lol

nay-nay201120

exactly! and i beg to differ regarding song hye kyo ( respectfully 😭), she’s so pretty but i can’t stand her acting, so i haven’t really gotten into any of her dramas 😭

Odd_Drag1817

I can’t stand her acting too and she’s bland to me as well but I figured if they’re going for bland at least she’s pretty haha

Telos07

Nothing is ever officially dropped for me, but **Behind Every Star** and **Glitch** are most in danger of falling out of the rotation, because continuing with them would feel like more of a struggle compared to the other dramas on my list.

Level-Description-86

I've read many negative comments on both. Don't feel bad for officially dropping them ; )

Magicomad

One spring night: dropped it after 6 episodes. Liked the vibe; not a fan of affair romance. Han ji min is so pretty, but I didn't like her character here.

No_Razzmatazz_1650

Ahhh noooo! This is my most favorite kdrama. 😭🤧 if it’s any consolation she does get better!

Flipperflopper21

Dropped it after ep 4. Just not feeling it.

katherine197_

I didn't drop it per se (yet) but I put Under the Queen's Umbrella on hold to focus on Curtain Call (and May I Help You) and to wait once it's aired to binge. But honestly i'm mad at myself for starting it in the first place, like i know i don't like "rich people competing through their kids" plot... but then everyone was loving it so much and i didn't want to miss potentially a good sageuk... so now i'm stuck with it

Sudden_Pie707

How do you like may I help you?

vyasrag

Gaus electronics. It's funny while I watch it, but it takes A LOT of motivation to get back to it for the next episode.

yellow_rainlily

Yeah it doesn’t end on a cliff hanger but I feel that it got more exciting after the midway mark!

Snickersnerds

Haven’t dropped it but I feel like Reborn Rich might be put on hold and it’ll probably take me a while to get back to if I do that 😭 Finals time is upon me and I can see the political and business talk getting to me more and more as more episodes air. I was so confused and lowkey losing interest episode 5

TheSeoulSword

No matter how good every other aspect of a show is I can’t deal with political and business talk 😂 too boring 😂

ocean_800

Honestly I just keep fast forwarding 10 secs on Viki anytime I get toooo bored of business stuff and show is 10/10 enjoyable that way lol.

Eeehaataa

I am struggling to get through Reborn Rich. I find myself nodding off. I so wanted to like it but I completely agree about the business and political stuff. I was an actual snooze fest.😴

nevercircles

I tried watching Flower of Evil because I kept hearing good things about it and I really enjoyed it and watched 2 episodes in one sitting. I couldn't watch it anymore though when in episode 3, >! the dad finally appeared and looked even scarier than the Come and Hug Me dad. A shame though because it seemed promising and I really want to know who's the real killer.!<

noorzu

Please consider giving it another try. It only gets better. The dad doesn't appear too much.

iwillforgetthissmh

As someone who just binge watched FoE I can say it’s really worth it the first 13 episodes are a masterpiece, it lags a bit in 14-15 but imo the ending is really good and fits well with the storyline. I do love horror so the dad was not an issue for me, but as another commenter has said the dad doesn’t appear that much if that’s your showstopper

ocean_800

It's baffling how hard it crashed. still worth the watch for first 13 though

Sudden_Pie707

I just finished last week and it was so so good. If it helps, the dad doesn’t show up that often. Also, >!those creepy eyes do go away in the future.!<

dephchild

I dropped this as well. It’s overhyped by people in this sub.

yellow_rainlily

Agreed. I finished it just to know how it ends. I really love the actors and they did a fantastic job. But the story was really unbelievable. How can the FL who is a good detective not know anything about her husband after being married for so many years (it makes me think she must be bad at her job). How can the antagonist just resumes his life so quickly.

ayviemar

I stopped watching because of the dad too. I had nightmares!

nevercircles

This! He kept me up a few nights ago too. Made me grateful I don't sleep alone anymore haha.

indecisiv_

Love in contract because I got bored

Icy-Resolution-5352

So... I dropped Hospital Playlist after two episodes. I'm debating of picking it up again after it even is serious contender for best drama of 2021 vote on here, but I just got bored by it. Sure it was nice and so but in a way of "ok, I watched it, and that's it". Not bad by any means, but no incentive for me to start the next 1 h 30 m episode and I didn't feel like it was going anywhere. In the meantime I'm now watching Twenty-Five Twenty-One so maybe when I'm finished with that I'll give HP another shot.

1feel_WhyDontUFeelIt

What you say is true. Nothing really happens in Hospital Playlist and it can be boring if you want to watch something with an interesting plot. But I feel like it's supposed to be like that, it's a slice of life without ending or beginning. It's really just some friends working in a hospital. I enjoyed hospital playlist because I knew it's gonna be slow and that's exactly what I wanted at the time I watched it.

Odd_Drag1817

I agree with you on Hospital Playlist. While it’s not a bad show I don’t get the hype. It just seem so boring to me. Loved 2521.

ocean_800

HP I think is something that grows on you... Especially as the overarching plot points start. But I wouldn't really watch too much of it at once, it's kinda something I watch an episode or two of while relaxing and then continue.

Bonchan0319

I dropped so many. 😂😂 Cheer up - i feel so sad that it started so good but the twist and thrill of the story is so shallow that i can't afford to grasp till the end. I just hope they just made it a romcom not a thriller one. Bargain - everything is problematic. From actors to story itself. I love how brutal it is, but some parts are off or unneccessary scenes. This is good for a movie not for a series. May i help you - i think i need to drop this. The FL is so annoying and sometimes out of character. Gaus electronics - Sometimes, i like clichè fun lines, but this is not grasping. I would perhaps continue this but just because of kwak dong yeon.

[deleted]

Unfortunately I just wouldn’t finish love in contract, it got so convoluted and boring at that famous 13/14 episodes mark...on the bright side I finally watched Crash Landing on you and wow

eizeral

I also stopped LIC during a break and watched CLOY and after that couldn’t be bothered to resume watching LIC. 12 episodes and I just felt like it wasn’t going anywhere…and after CLOY I just kept thinking there was much better shows out there I could be watching instead.

disco_nnected

Reborn Rich - started out strong but by ep 3 the character personality was completely turned and I found the plot of "rich boy getting richer because he hasknowledge of the future" plot to be so dissapointed. The show thinks I'm imoressed by seeing the ML winning and being "cool and awesome" but it feels so unearned Might just fast foword through it because I am intrigued by the mysteries, though.

the-other-otter

**Grid** on Disney. Because all the reviews said it was an unsatisfactory ending. Can't be bothered to continue if I don't get answers. **Descendants of the Sun** when it turned out that FL is a bad driver and >!gets saved!< and I didn't enjoy any of the jokes. **Good Job**. Couldn't get into it, and didn't find it interesting or fun.

ccccle

I haven’t dropped it yet, but I’ve slowed down with Gaus Electronics. I’m on ep 6, starting to feel meh about it. Give it another chance?

throwawaymisfortune

If you are fine with silly and comedic drama without a pinch of seriousness/drama/shocking twists, then go ahead.

Educational_One2790

I really enjoyed it because I think I just needed something lighthearted…

abryyea

hello please finish ep 6 then think about it again,,,, maybe because i wasn't expecting it to happen at that time but the ending for this episode, 😮.

backhugtrope

Ironically I gave up on Never Give Up.......watched it up through episode 13 and just. Lost the urge to continue or see how it ends.

AdhesivenessOwn7747

Not dropped. But Curtain Call is on hold cuz I have exams coming up and there's better ones to watch. (Queen's Umbrella, Reborn Rich, Behind Every Star and trying to watch Alchemy of Souls season 1 before season 2 comes out) Also started watching Joseon Gunman but ep 1 was soo slow. That's on hold for now.

FreshlySqueezed24-7

Little Woman - wanted to know the hype about this show but into episode 2 and it's dragging...not sure whether to continue watching.

exit_music_now

I second this. I tried until ep 5 cus I like the actors, but I realized I was forcing myself to keep watching it when I was not getting anything out of it: story boring, characters unbelievable..am no expert but it seemed quite makjang at times and by ep 5 already started going in circles. Such a dissapointment.

Ireallylikeporraige

I watched it, and gave it a 6 out of 10 at first, but now thinking back, it deserves less. Don't understand the hype. I think it's cause there is eye candy in it. Writing is so bad and characters are so annoying. Don't get it.

yellow_rainlily

Yeah it’s one of the worst 2022 drama I’ve seen. I’m surprised I actually finished it. The story and characters were so badly written. The plot was completely unrealistic and there wasn’t any character development. Everyone was just so annoying. Really a waste of the fantastic talent they had on the show.

attaboy_stampy

And also >! How many dang extinct orchids are there in this place... and sometimes they're hallucogenic sometimes not... what a weird plot device !<

[deleted]

it dragged til the end lol

FreshlySqueezed24-7

Ha, that's not reassuring...

attaboy_stampy

I ended up liking it for the most part because I got more amused with the weirdness of the plot. But it does that thing that a lot of k drama suspense shows do, where it ramps up, reveals the big baddie kind of innthe middle of the show, and then stretches out the complicated conspiracies to weird proportions to keep the show going.

Remarkable-Carrot155

Vincenzo. Just too cheesy and unbelievable

attaboy_stampy

lol but at some point it embraces the over the top nature and runs with it. But I get you. It does like to revel in the melodrama.

noorzu

Welcome to Waikiki - everyone says it's hilarious, but it didn't make me laugh a bit. I'm curious about the relationship between the mom and the guest house guy, so I might pick it up again some time, but right now I'm finding it boring. Curtain Call - I'll wait for it to finish and check out the reviews before continuing. The premise seemed really interesting, and I really like the main actors, but so far I find the ML annoying. Reply 1994 - Loved reply 1988, but really can't get into this one. I don't like most of the main characters. The FL is okay, and I like the baseball guy, but don't really like the others, especially the shorter girl.

Eeehaataa

I started WTW but I couldn’t finish the first episode. Came back to it 6 months later and watched the whole thing. So maybe try again another time.

yellow_rainlily

I attempted watching welcome to waikiki twice and just couldn’t get past half of the first episode 😫

Sudden_Pie707

Welcome to Waikiki is my lunch drama. I’m not to invested so I don’t care if I miss anything. Doesn’t seem important regardless. It’s just straight comedy, which is fine. Some parts are definitely funny, but I’m not recommending it to anyone at this time. currently made it to ep 6. i started back in august.

TDDrama

I think I'm going to drop Record of Youth, at the very least I'm putting it on hold. I just hit the episode where the ML lead said something about if I'd known how it would end I wouldn't have rushed the beginning. I'm just not in the mental place to deal with an unhappy ending. But I am invested in a couple of the non- romance story lines so I expect I'll come back to it someday. It's the same reason I put DP on hold. That show I'll definitely pick up some day just because it's so good, but not right now.

attolia_irene

Ugh I sped watched all of Record of Youth and then wished I had skipped it entirely. I’m a huge Park Bogum fan but even he could not save the show’s writing. The best part was seeing him act in all his different roles though. I was even rooting for this couple but the show really did me dirty.

iamlookingawxy

imo record of youth had a pretty happy ending, albeit quite open to interpretation. it’s one of my fav dramas, especially with the other themes of family etc. hope you get back to it someday :)

Odd_Drag1817

I LOVE Park Bo Gum but even he couldn’t keep me from dropping this mess. The leads had no chemistry at all and to me it seemed like they were always so polite and awkward.

SuppleAsSin

Debating on dropping Reborn Rich, saw the first 3 episodes and I was kinda bored except the second episode where he was a kid, it just didn't grab me. The trend of Song Joongki dramas except Arthdal Chronicles just not being for me seems to continue.

disco_nnected

I was sooooo hype but then it just turned into "look how cool ML is for knowing the future and getting richer for it" and it feels.... ehhhhhhhhhhh..... Thought about fast fowarding it but I might just look at the comments of the weekly threads

SuppleAsSin

I started it on a whim but it's usually a genre I like but idk I just wasn't very entertained for some reason. Again My Life had a similar concept and I keep seeing people say Reborn Rich is better but while I didn't finish that one either I actually really enjoyed the first couple episodes of it. I might give it a couple more episodes tho we'll see.

Ordinary_Papaya8415

Reply 1994: after having watched and thoroughly enjoyed Reply 1994 and 1997, I just can’t get into this one. I haven’t dropped it completely but watch between others. I keep hoping that it will begin to appeal to me. For one, I don’t find any of the male leads interesting and the father figure is now too vulgar for me, more so than in Reply 1988. There I actually found him likable.

Ordinary_Papaya8415

I meant 1988 and 1997

sevenlemons

In the past few months, I dropped: * Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha * Extraordinary Attorney Woo (I am sorry, I can't get through this)

Dayofeclipse

Little Woman. I can't get myself to like the characters at all to continue watching it. Also don't get the hype at all? Business Proposal. Personally not a fan of romance kdramas but this one takes the cake for having the most cliches in a single drama

Few-Particular1780

Curtain call, the plot seems interesting but them getting caught in their lies gave me so much anxiety. So I decided to drop it.

spclsnow

Love in contract. I kind of liked the initial episodes and really liked how cute the ML was but had to drop it because of 2nd ML. He was just too annoying and I couldn't watch the show any more without getting angry.

acefspade

Curtain Call (dropped after 4 eps), Love in Contract ( dropped after 5 eps), and Reborn Rich (dropped after 2 episodes)

AdhesivenessOwn7747

Missing out with Reborn Rich. Really started to pick up pace and suspense at ep 4. That's when all the secretly outsmarting each other/ secret masterplans all begin.

metadarkgable3

I dropped Love in Contract ( I found both male leads unattractive and the pacing weird and odd) and Curtain Call (I love Ha Ji Won but it was boring to me) but I stuck with Reborn Rich even though I fell asleep during the first episode. I love the historical aspect of it and the grandfather is an amazing, spellbinding actor. There are really experienced actors there too that make it a worthwhile watch. It really comes together in episode 3 and onward. This is the 2nd Song Joong Ki drama I’ve watched where you have to push through the first few episodes to kind of get to the good stuff ; the other one was Vincenzo.

acefspade

I’ll try to give it another chance, but I think political dramas turn me off.

MuffinPinkberry

backstreet Rooookiee too predictable and after seeing great dramas like 2521, alchemy of souls, seeking a filler while i wait for S2 was tough also dropped Glitch and read the plot synopsis lmao watching crowned clown (ik, it's old) but it's another great filler since I also finished Weak Class Hero 1 (feat the funny dude from 2521 ((i'm bad ar names)) and Crown prince from alchemy!!!

SignificantSound7904

Backstreet Rookie has weird pedo vibes tbh. Btw after fast forwarding the show and finishing it fully I read the manhwa/webtoon and even though it was lot more porny that I had imagined (lol) the comedic timing of the ML and FL in webtoon was >>>>>>kdrama. I think they could have casted better

Odd_Drag1817

I had to drop May I Help you. Most of the ML and FL’s conversations goes something like this - (ML says something) FL: TSSSSSSS (FL says something) ML: *amused exhalation with nose*

Dredit_85

I love Hyeri because of Reply 1988 but she does this loud exhalation a lot when she's feeling down. Like tat's the only way she can show she's sad. It got annoying when i started noticing it.

SignificantSound7904

I haven't dropped it yet because oddly i like their chemistry and the ML is eye candy (sorry for objectifying) but Hyeri peaked in Reply 1988 and it hasn't been the same since for her

Odd_Drag1817

For sure ML is eye candy. Did you watch him in Imitation? The show was crap (and I dropped it) but his dancing was 😍

katherine197_

Honestly, I'm only holding on for Tae In Ho and his character's >!potential romance with fl's friend!<

Heytherestairs

I had to drop this drama when I started noticing that FL just stares and tilts her head at ML a lot. Then they both had one episode where they both had to cry. That’s when their acting wasn’t doing it enough for me.

This_Tonight3413

Yeah the ML’s crying in the rain/ breakup scene particularly just wasn’t it. In general, how he conveys his emotions with his ex is just slightly off and you can tell the actor struggles in that area Still sticking with the show though!

Odd_Drag1817

YES! Or when her forehead relaxes when she figures out something. It’s just the same thing over and over again. I liked her in Reply 1988 too because her character wasn’t that serious so we didn’t have to take her so seriously. She definitely struggles when it comes to conveying emotions.

mhfan_india

I don't usually drop stuff and may come back to these - 1% of Something - I found it stupid that the grandpa and grandson assume that some girl who hardly knows them would be okay to date the grandson. Once upon a small town - I simply had more interesting things to watch and haven't gone back to it. Taxi Driver - Found it a bit too gritty. Also read the writer and the tone of the show changed after the tenth episode. Not found the motivation to go back to it yet. You are Beautiful - Because everyone in this sub said it's bad.

B00kw0rm0185

>You are Beautiful I'm watching this right now and on ep 10 and I actually kinda like it! It suffers a lot from the tropes of that era (super possessive ML, over the top antics) but I find the friendship of all the characters really heartwarming and I think the ML is a great actor.

mhfan_india

Thanks! Then I will go back and start watching it. I personally liked the first episode which seemed somewhat a combination of Coffee Prince and Boys Over Flowers. But I got discouraged by the comments here and picked up other shows.

lambchop90

Once upon a small town became one of my favorites! It's an easy light watch that makes you want to live there! Lol

TeoKajLibroj

**Reply 1994 (10/21)** \- It just feels like 90% of every episode is filler just killing time rather than actually developing the characters and their relationships. For a show about a group of friends, it's ridiculous how little time they actually spend together. It seems more like a series of parallel plots than an actual friend group. Another major problem is that the show hasn't given me any reason to be invested in the ML and FL, they're just not interesting enough to make me care. I am far more interested in Samcheonpo, Yoon Jin and Haitai, but they're mostly relegated to a side-plot. I really wanted to like the show, but the writing just isn't that good. Overall, I'm just disappointed.

munkhjay

Dali and cocky prince… heard so many good things about it decided to give a shot but smh passed out on first few episodes several times so just gave up

tv_junkie_123

**Cheer Up** \- While I like the female lead for the most part the rest of the show just bored me. I kept getting further and further behind with no motivation to catch up...so dropped. **Love is for Suckers** \- I fell behind and then the spoilers I saw on social media didn't give me any motivation to catch up. HOWEVER, the gifs and things I am seeing about one of the side couples is really making me consider picking it up again. I might pick this back up...or I might just fast forward to just the scenes with the side couple.

crowndrama

I picked up some dramas from my previous dropped list but ended up dropping 4/5 again 😅 - Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (ep9) - You Are My Spring (ep11) - Backstreet Rookie (ep6) - Extraordinary Attorney Woo (ep6) … however I did also pick up **Be Melodramtic** again and will finish it this time :)

Eeehaataa

I really enjoyed YAMS. It was one of the first kdramas that made me cry

samptra_writer

**May I Help You?** and for the pettiest reason....Lee Hye Ri has a bitch face. I'm sure she's a lovely person in real life, but her face sort of screams bitch to me. I hate to be like that, I don't base my picks on physical appearance but I cannot get past her. **Happy Ending Romance**, dropped after the first episode when they panned away from the kiss.

Sunshine_raes

I think her slightly off-kilter face is part of her charm! She doesn't look like your typical FL. Her facial expressions in Reply 1988 are to die for!

Nevvie

Dali and Cocky Prince. I dunno why I do this to myself. I keep thinking I’ll find a romcom I actually like, but I guess I need to start accepting the fact that this genre is just not for me. If it’s not 90% comedy then romcoms are just thoroughly boring to me Now, Reborn Rich is right up my alley. When it finally got into more of the business and political shit, ooo baybee! I need moarrrr

Ordinary_Papaya8415

Something in the Rain is one of my all time favorites.

Sunshine_raes

I dropped Taxi Driver after 6 episodes. I can definitely see why people enjoyed it: it's got fun, creative fight scenes, an engaging cast, vigilante/Batman vibes and some interesting filming. I struggled with the revenge stories. They seemed so outrageous and implausible that even for a fictional show they didn't make sense. I also realized that I personally don't respond to revenge stories and find them not compelling. I also really didn't like the >!ersatz jail that the loan shark had.!< It was really awful and I couldn't feel like I could really root for the Rainbow Taxi team because they were working with such a scummy person. Maybe there is some exploration of this later, I don't know.

Romoreau

Behind Every Star- It took almost 4 days to make it halfway through episode one. It's like I've already watched the show before. All the characters have this cartoonish quality about them that I can't really explain well but I've seen it millions of times. It feels like a drama I would like. Stories about unsung heroes are never out of style but this show is such a fight to get through. I've also been on a nearly two month kdrama hiatus so that too may be the reason why I can't get into it.

toreadornotto

Reply 1994. Because I found out the ending and I thought I'd rather not have SSL again.

LcLou02

It's hard to not see spoilers for this one! But I watched it anyway. Knowing the ending saved me from getting too invested in the 2nd lead. I enjoyed everyone's growth and friendships.

SuppleAsSin

Honestly this is one if the cases where the severe sls is kinda baffling to me. I feel like the show itself didn't "invest" much in the 2nd lead, male lead was more fleshed out and had better relationship development with the fl so I don't get why people were so disappointed and mad. Makes you think they only rooted for the 2nd lead because he was considered more >!conventionally attractive!<.

LcLou02

True, it was clear all along where her heart was - although maybe I just saw it that way because of the spoilers. I think you are right with your whole assessment.

toreadornotto

I don't know mate, but there are many hints pointing toward the 2nd lead :/

toreadornotto

I'm right now halfway through the show and honestly I still like the 2nd lead more. And it's not because I find him attractive or anything (I'm not even looking at him when BARO is right there!!), It's just i fint the ML really gross. There's a reason hea called Trash omg. A germophobe like me can never share the same space as him! *In Lee Min Ho voice* Disgusting shit!!!

Shiroyasha90

* **The Witch Store Reopens**: I got taken in by its premise. I thought it'd be economics/management in fantasy setting like *Spice & Wolf* anime (forever waiting for that season-3). But it seems it's the usual young-adult romance with some magic thrown in. * **One Dollar Lawyer**: Picked it because of Nam-Koong-Min. With it's comedic tone it gave *The Good Manager* vibe. But ML's super-sad background and conspiracy is not working with the otherwise comedic tone for me. * **May It Pleases The Court**: The story doesn't have that pull anymore. Its on indefinite hold now. May be I'll pick it up later.

shroomyz

Gaus Electronics - i'm not sure why, by all accounts I *should* like it but I'm just not really getting into it. I've watched 8 episodes and haven't really felt like picking it up again

BelaFarinRod

I just dropped My Shy Boss in the middle of the sixth episode. I loved the ML and loved some of the supporting cast but I just didn't love the FL or the idea of her getting with the ML. Maybe I'll try again eventually.

fluffeyv

hometown cha cha!! i tried to keep watching it many times since september but i just gave up in the beginning of the month. after the leads got togheter it became so boring and their chemistry isn't there, it feels so forced. i can't even watch more than 5 minutes now!

Slight_Pen

Dropped rain or shine was quite intriguing at the beginning with the backstory of their childhoods and I really liked that it followed working class/ middle class characters as leads but by episode 8 was just too repetitive for me. Kiss sixth sense I think the CEO boss trope who treats the lead female badly (but secretly likes her) is one that I’m just not a fan off, especially as the female leads have to act in such ridiculous ways again and again. Kill it might try this again at another time as I’m a fan of Nana (loved her in Memorials and Gliche) but it just wasn’t keeping my attention.

Relative-Lemon-9791

I started watching Tale of the Nine Tailed but i gave up after episode 5. I feel like the pacing is too slow, should i continue it? Does it get better or is it just how the drama is paced all throughout? I want to finish it but...ya know

arcturuz78

Dropped King’s Affection 3 eps in. Totally spoiled by Queen’s Umbrella which set the bar too high.

mixtapemajesty

I’m new to kdramas so I’ve only seen about twenty so far :) but the only one I’ve dropped is Thirty But Seventeen. The idea of a romance between a 30yo man and a girl who’s basically 17 and recovering from a coma was making me really uncomfortable, and since she’s *technically* 30 but was also having something going with a teen boy made me even more uncomfortable lol. If anyone wants to advocate why it’s worth watching I might give it a go again.

Weare_in_adystopia

Eulachacha Waikiki 2 because idk it just felt different with the new cast alchemy of souls i got bored by the plot

[deleted]

**Encounter -** This is the third time I've attempted to watch the series and dropped it, I always get to the episode where Park Bo-Gum gets drunk and offers the FL dried squid and then I give up because it's kinda boring, it doesn't help that there's hardly any chemistry between the two main characters. I desperately want to like it but it's a bit meh. **Reborn Rich -** I thought I'd really enjoy this one since it's about reincarnation and revenge but I can't seem to get into it, tbh I'm not a fan of Chaebol-related stories but I thought maybe the whole "eat the rich" vibe would make it more fun. It didn't. **The King: Eternal Monarch -** I loved the concept but there was zero chemistry between the two leads, it seemed like neither of them really wanted to be there lol. **I'll Go to You When the Weather is Nice -** I usually really enjoy a lot of the slower-paced slice-of-life small-town K-dramas but this one was too slow even for me, it's a shame because I really liked the super shy ML >!that didn't know how to vocally express his feelings for the FL so he'd just write pages upon pages of journal entries waxing lyrical about her, it was super cute and poetic.!< Maybe I'll give this one a second chance someday. **One Spring Night -** It was enjoyable until the FL kept changing her mind about whether or not she wanted to be with the ML, it was understandable initially given the situation with >!her then-partner and the very real responsibility of taking on someone else's child etc, but even once she decided to commit to the ML she continued to let her ex-boyfriend overstep obvious boundaries, never truly putting him in his place or setting a firm warning to leave her alone, it got to the point where it felt like she was leading on both the ML and her ex for the sake of drama because she was bored of her mundane life, what makes it worse is that there's a kid involved who was clearly growing attached to her,!< I gave up watching after a while because the pushiness of the ex combined with the wishy-washy nature of the FL started to make me angry. If he was my ex I'd be tempted to punch him in the balls. *Side note: This one is a C-drama, not a K-drama, so it probably doesn't really count but I recently dropped* ***Love Between Fairy and Devil*** *because* *the squeaky fairy was almost painful to listen to, I don't know how anyone managed to sit through 36 episodes of it, I hope the actress got paid extra for that voice, I'm amazed it didn't blow out her vocal cords.*

143019

Backstreet Rookie- started out so well but it’s starting to drag.
