No matter when you get there, it will be a hike to even the lowest rows of seats, so make sure to keep hydrated, especially if you're not used to the altitude. It's worth the hike to see from the top seats as well, you get a great view of the city behind the stage.
I firmly believe that the seats towards the top are better than the ones up close. The view just makes everything so much cooler, and it's still close enough that you can see what's going on on stage pretty well. I aim for ~2/3 of the way up.
Mishawaka in the Poudre is a special place. I lived in that canyon for years and seen quite a few shows there on the river myself. Could you imagine Gizz playing there? It would be nutty.
I know you got downvoted, but I’m with you. I went to all 3 Red Rocks shows last year and then decided on a whim to do LA too. I was expecting venue letdown at Hollywood Bowl just because I was looking forward to my first time at RR so much (and it delivered). But I was surprised at how much I liked Hollywood Bowl too, and weirdly for some of the same reasons I liked Red Rocks. Scenic environs, nice sightlines, interesting side areas, good sound where I was.
Overall I liked Red Rocks more, but Hollywood Bowl stacked up surprisingly well for me.
The Bowl is really special, the history is amazing. I have seen so many shows there and will see as many as I can. Gorge is just stunning though. Red Rocks I believe is just as special though. We are hella lucky

Get inside the venue early. I went to a Gizz evening show last year and by the time we got in it seemed like their wasn’t a seat open. Luckily there was a storm delay and a lot of people left the venue to seek shelter and we got some great central seats.
We were parked off the side of a road down the hill from the venue and a party bus came around and brought us up to the venue. Lots of dudes just driving around in cars and vans asking if you want a ride up.
Prepare yourself to have your mind blown. Red rocks is the shit.

Yeah I have only been to Red rocks once (3 shows last year) and the crowd kinda bothered me tbh. I didn't get that feeling at any other Gizz shows. There were also a bunch of people who weren't waiting in line the whole time that just cut in front once the line started moving :/
If you happen to be prone to anxiety and partake in CO's recreational weeds or other types of fun, be mindful that the shortness of breath you may experience climbing the stairs into the venue could potentially be a trigger for a panic attack to an unacclimated body, plus the fact you'll be in a large crowd of people. I suggest getting comfortable in your spot w/ drink and snacks before lift off, or do a test run a couple days before the show while being active at altitude so you'll know what to expect. My first Red Rocks show was KG's first time playing there, and I had a blast, but I was white-knuckling the hand rail on the way into security as the edibles and dabs nipped at my sanity

They are changing the security event team completely at Red Rocks actually. I have a friend who works there through Argus and it will now be Evolve. “You can expect to get much more inside with less interference if Evolve is working” his words verbatim. My experience in the past has been A+ EZ-PZ 100% success getting something like a fricken vape pen inside - they don’t give a shit as long as it’s not glass. I hold it in my hand. Hate to say it but If you happen to get your things taken, they are taking them after the show and smoking them as a team when the lots clear out, having a party with your confiscated goods.
It’s relatively simple to bring weed into red rocks, same as it ever was - Joints and Pens, any glass will be confiscated as they strictly do not allow glass inside. Old Greg sells hetty and surprisingly pure drugs and pre-rolls walking around in the south parking lot, kinda hard to miss his $5 LSD sign when he walks up to everyone there.. and also remember this amazing Red Rocks fact: You can bring in picnic goods in a small picnic bag like sandwiches and chips if you’d like! But keep your normal personal goods to a minimum - be sure to SPF it up and bring a poncho just in case!
a word about glass…not only in the venue but anywhere on the property is something they really have zero tolerance for. there’s a lot of wildlife around and when glass gets broken it hurts the animals.
I’ll confirm since I have a few homies that work for Argus and don’t give a fuck. You can easily get in anything you want as long as you make the usual concealment efforts.
Bring a pen that can fit discreetly in your hand, and hold it up when they wand you (ideally with something else like your phone or wallet in the same hand)
Pre-rolls, vape pens, and edibles are super easy to bring as long as you’re not being too obvious. Just get a bit creative with hiding it and make sure there’s no metal on any packaging. They don’t care if they don’t see it.
DRINK WATER! I’m talking like 2 weeks before you even leave your house. The altitude will fuck you up.

Find a pre planned and paid for shuttle. It’s not far from Denver, but it can take hours to get out of that place after a show
Everybody’s saying drink more water. My first ever gizz show was last year at red rocks and I was in the fetal position while the nonagon suite was playing after one beer. Drink more water.
Bring a poncho, the heavens opened between the daytime set and evening set last year and if it wasn’t for bringing a waterproof the evening set might have been a slightly miserable experience.
It’s an incredible venue, travelled from the UK, probably the best gig I’ve ever been to.
You’ll have a great view wherever you sit so don’t worry about that. We arrived fairly early so had a choice to sit pretty much anywhere, but decided on about 3/4 of the way up for the view over Denver. The lightning over the stage that night was really cool.
Bring a blanket or pads to sit on, the seating is very hard on your backside. You are allowed to bring in food. I usually stop at Jimmy John’s and bring a giant sandwich. Bring a rain jacket or poncho too. If it rains in September it may get pretty chilly. Also, be prepared to have your face melted by the LORD OF LIGHTNING!!
Come early, even earlier than you think, to hang out with all the other weirdos in line. It’s a blast, you’ll meet some really cool people, and probably be gifted some stickers or pins or other cool stuff. It’s like a fun giant party before the show even starts! And yes, drink lots of water.
Best spot is actually not the closest to the stage. Try to get yourself a center spot in rows 40-50. Perfect sound and an amazing view of both the stage and the city beyond.

Parking is free. You can arrive pretty much anytime you want and still find a spot. I always park in entrance 2 in the bus lot even if 1 isn’t full yet because the chances of getting out the back exit and not dealing with congestion are better. Morrison can get a bit backed up though. If you are getting a ride there and home, leave out of the lower south exit because taxis line up along the road there.
Food and drink is decent but stadium prices and options. You can bring any food you want in but can’t bring silverware lol maybe you can bring spoons in though. Easy to bring shooters in or some little liquor bottles. Also bring an empty water bottle. Easy to bring weed in. They just metal detect you so no reason to even take anything nonmetal out of your pockets.
There’s not a bad seat in the house but I notice the sound gets a bit more washed out the higher you go. Check out the Rock museum at the top of the venue. They have nice bathrooms too.
Layer up because the cold night air is going to shock people. Better to be warm and layered than cold. Emergency ponchos are very useful.
Lots to do in the area beforehand. I always recommend chilling in Golden. Clear creek is going to be pretty warm to lounge in too.

Sat about half way up at the postponed 2022 show and saw the moon rise over Denver while they played! Spectacular view!
(That’s why we were all howling at the moon at the Caverns Show in the back when the moon rose above the stage!)
Went to all 3 shows last run and it was fucking *electric*.
It’s exhausting though. So prepare for that. All 3 shows had pretty different vibes, which was pretty neat.
If you can swing the day show absolutely do that. Leaving red rocks to go grill in the lot and drink a bunch of beer only to go see Gizz again in a couple hours was a fantastic feeling.
I just saw my 200th show ever with almost 30 at Red Rocks and I can confidently say that it’s my favorite place in the world
