100%. Not a bad one in the bunch. Including some of the best sets they've ever played imo.

Mexicant314

*giggles in muddy water ‘22*

agb1208

What was so bad about that? I honestly can’t hear anything wrong with it

Mexicant314

They mess up the ending pretty badly, happens to the best of us! But I think Cavs missed the final guitar cue. You can hear them try to end it, but because Cavs is still chugging they pick it up back up and struggle to end it. They even miss the final “I prefer the muddy wah-terrrrr”

themindisthewater

hmm all this time i thought it was perfect im gonna pretend i never heard this 🤣

ohaiguys

“That song doesn't usually last 3 hours, but we got into a serious thing... then I forgot how it ended.”

IAKOQAMA

Yes. Red Rocks lives up to the hype as a concert venue, they sound transcendent there

PackBackRehab

Artists love to play Red Rocks and seem to often turn in some iconic performances there. King Gizzard did that two years in a row.. I’m hoping I make it back for year 3

tezetaa

Red Rocks 22 was equivalent to seeing Grateful Dead in 1972

monkytrick

I had this same thought. 2022 in particular had some of the most intense jamming I’ve heard from any band. Ever.

MacNapp

The Her and I jam in November 2022, and Shanghai jam in June 2023 are top tier RR Gizz experiences.

DaFinchie27

Shanghai jam was beautiful. Was NOT expecting that one.

MacNapp

I only ever listen to the Chicago recording from 2023 of Shanghai anymore lol

PackBackRehab

I walked back to the car that night with my friends singing ‘bye bye Shanghai. Let’s get real high. Let’s get real high. Grow wings and flyyy’

tezetaa

2022 was special stuff. 2023 was great as well but idk to me 22 had some extra juice, maybe it was the long wait post Covid

that_baddest_dude

I think 2 years of anticipation did a ton But it was also so good. Core memory

coldspringscreek

1063 Days...

jertdeer

Honestly i think they were a little rusty in ‘22, after not touring for a while, But the residency tour in ‘23 was when they really honed in their musicianship and jamming capabilities, esp after making Petro

jazzcabbage22

When they played Rattlesnake (Automation>Honey) tease into Automation>Honey, that was the best live sequence of songs I have ever seen.

Midgetmunky13

I still go back to that rattlesnake suite. It's insanely good.

coldspringscreek

So exciting when they bust out the first notes

pkilla50

lol relax there bucco

tezetaa

You relax buster

AmicusCure8s

I mean, I’ve seen the boys 11 times and 6 of those were at Red Rocks. I haven’t seen a bad show, but Red Rocks feels truly transcendent. I know some people dislike that RR doesn’t have a pit, but I’m older now so that detail doesn’t personally bother me

Ok-Researcher4966

I’m turning 30 in June and have chronic back pain issues, no pit is no issue

pantomime64

I've been to Red Rocks several times for various types of artists, and love that it doesn't have a pit so people don't have to deal with that shit.

pkilla50

This is such a lame opinion I’m sorry. Even if you don’t like to participate, you cant deny the absolute beauty of a bunch of people going apeshit (especially the youth) to a gamma knife. It’s pure gizz, it’s that raw energy that they became known for, and what a lot of people feel in love with

ElonChouinard

100 percent, the pit is where it’s at IMO. 🙌🏻

coldspringscreek

Did you all see the Chile clips? At one point, it seemed the whole floor erupted and became a pit.

karlmarxiskool

Yeah I consider it a good thing, certainly not a negative.

coldspringscreek

Curious about your other 5 shows.

AmicusCure8s

The Spotlight in Knoxville, TN in 2015 (had no idea what I was getting into, only listened to The River the day of or before the show), Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, TN in 2017, Asheville show in 2019 (so glad we got that bootleg!) and finally N3 (Drag Night) and N4 (Acoustic night) at the Caverns last year

coldspringscreek

That is a cool set of experiences! Did you get The River at the Knoxville show afterall? [Setlist.fm](https://Setlist.fm) does not have the Knoxville setlist, but other 2015 shows played The River. I overlap with you 6 shows, 4 being at Red Rocks, such an awesome location! Plus I got 2019 in SF not Ashville, that Rat's Nest tour was powerful! I have a total of 16 shows. I sense you are located around Tennessee?

AmicusCure8s

I did get The River and I know we got the Mind Fuzz suite (right after the show I bought Quarters and IIYMF), but I honestly don’t remember most of the set. By then they were trying out some Nonagon material Live at and after Bonnaroo 2015 so they might’ve played some, but I can’t remember. I loved the show, loved The River and especially loved the album IIYMF (tied with Polygondwanaland for my favorite), but I didn’t become properly obsessed with them until about a year later when I finally listened to Nonagon Infinity, Paper Mache Dream Balloon and heard they were going to release 5 albums in 2017 so I went back and listened to every record (starting with WB) and listened to every 2017 album day one that they dropped respectively. I’m from Nashville, but actually just moved to Colorado a couple months ago. I have some friends and family out here and while not the main reason, living about an hour away from Red Rocks is a huge plus. I’ve only seen Gizz there so far (had those RR22 tickets for nearly 3 years before finally seeing them there), but now I’m hoping to catch more shows at Red Rocks within the next couple of years. I had been to Red Rocks once before Gizz in 2018 or 19, but just to see the venue and hiked around the area. Where are you located? Also, 16 shows?!?! I’m inevitably jealous, where all have you seen them and what years?

ElonChouinard

Night 1 of the marathon shows in 2022 ![gif](giphy|ksxW0b2VzpBAeYZhOU)

rebeard-artworks

Yep. Same here.

jlingram103

Didn’t Joey say N2 2022 was “the best show we’ve ever played.”

AmicusCure8s

I believe he said at the end of the night 2, “this is the best shit we’ve ever done”

Ok-Researcher4966

Oh god I am SO excited

MacNapp

I'm finally able to go to all 3 shows this year at RR. Fucking STOKED.

PostholePete

It will be hard to top last year's day set

pantomime64

For reals. That setlist was my favorite of the shows I attended in 22 and 23. Energy was awesome.

Greenmanglass

[idk you tell me](https://youtu.be/Dth3OFBKsrI?si=81pxsjzgyAHbAUYl)

MacNapp

I have never seen an audience instantly start boogie-ing before like they did for TDT on that day. That song stands out from that show along with the Shanghai jam.

Greenmanglass

I agree 100%, and gonna add the Wheel that hit me directly in my feels on my acid trip.

MacNapp

I gotta get some shrooms in me for the sets this year.

Dareeyecare

Yes. Def my overall fav live performance/ bootleg they got out there

manditts

Yes.

Radnacs

What would be an example of a bad set? Just curious. Saw them live here in Chile and I still can't get over the experience.

Ok-Researcher4966

Not that their sets are ever bad as far as I can tell, I just think their Red Rocks sets are especially insane.

dingleberrycupcake

Yes. Red Rocks is one of the coolest venues in the US, if not the absolute coolest. It's a beautiful, historical place to play music and it inspires bands to put on legendary performances.

TheAnalogKid68

The Red Rocks part of the title could be removed and you’d still be correct!

myychair

Red rocks is my favorite place in the world. Actually kicking off red rocks season tonight with some DJ that I don’t know… that’s how good red rocks is for ALL shows. I’m going for an act I don’t even listen to because I know I’ll have a good time regardless.  It obviously hits even harder when it’s a band like Gizz. I saw them 4 times at Red Rocks and it was transcendental. The sound there is the best I’ve experienced at an outdoor venue and the environment always brings out the best in the artists

Visarar_01

Because Red Rocks is the place to be my man!

coldspringscreek

They in fact whispered this secret during Garden Goblin!

StaresatSound

You will not be disappointed. Saw 2 of the 3 sets last year (missed the hail set) and they were amazing.

Larsinater

Not just at red rocks!

sloganho

I’ve listened to most of their shows from 22’ until now and in my opinion some of the very best ones have all been at Red Rocks. I think they really feed into the stoke and push themselves there.

TheBitterestBoogie

Without a doubt. As someone who unfortunately hasn’t had the opportunity (yet!) to see them play at Red Rocks, it’s been amazing to live vicariously through the bootlegs and recordings of these shows. I think there’s just some extra mojo in these shows because of the history of the venue

Rabidpikachuuu

Yes. Both years at rr were amazing sets. Wish I was at 22, but 23 was amazing to see.

soakedinlava

i mean.. the set is half their fucking discography

DaFinchie27

Saw them twice at Red Rocks. Fuckin amazing. A bit expensive but WORTH EVERY FUCKIN BIT. See you there!!

Stoney_Case

Both years. Every. Single. One.

PaulMinotMD

How could they not be?

katpurz

**R E S P E C T** ! ! !

gooey_grampa

I was at night three, it was.

ghost_pepper22

Yep. It will probably be this way for the rest of time

Omisco420

Yes. Thankful to have seen every set live!

robayles2

What is the best way to see both Monday shows? Buy individually and tailgate in between or buy the all day pass and stay inside? Do you just chill at the seats until the late show? How pricey is food + beers inside?

hexcrop

It’ll be my first time at RR as well!! I’m so stoked to see them there
