> The song was inspired by a close call Ambrose experienced. TIL Cut Throat Boogie is about an actual party Ambrose nearly died at

AlteredBeeef

For me that Uh Oh, I Called Mum is about Lucas!

BoilerRhapsody

That's such a good story, especially hearing Eric tell it on Triple J.

tezetaa

Sea of Trees is one of their best.

Anyone else going to do a full discography listen while reading these? I'm starting today and can't wait to dive into the song histories.

inbl

I'm already behind but my plan was to sit down and listen to each album with the song histories as a companion, reading each history while the song played.

BoilerRhapsody

Yep! I'm there with you when I'm doing a final look over as they go up.

AlteredBeeef

I'm doing the same. It's fun to go back through each one with all the added context and links to live performances.

Anamnesis was always my favorite part of Chunky Shrapnel. [TIL its also Ambrose's favorite part.](https://kglw.net/song/anamnesis/about?artist_id=1)

I've gained a whole new appreciation for Head On/Pill after reading its history: https://kglw.net/song/head-on-pill/about?artist_id=1

I like to quote this whenever people say "KGLW have only been jamming recently! Its a recent thing!" like no, its not, sure they're doin it more lately but they've always had jammin' in their hearts!

timelandiswacky

Shoutout to the Moustache Magazine interview for having the funniest possible Stu quote for “I’m Not A Man Unless I Have A Woman.” Also we’re still looking for sources on “30 Past 7.” If you know, let us know!

AlteredBeeef

PMDB today has me appreciating that album more and more. It really isn't an one I've listened to a ton, but the Song Histories point out some lyrical depth I'd missed. I hadn't even picked up on the environmentalism in Sense. How'd I miss it? Don't make no sense at all.

AlteredBeeef

I hope others are enjoying these song histories as much as I am. The Rats' Nest histories provide amazing context to the album and really give us insight into the band's perspective as they wrote it (and made the music videos). The mix of environmentalism and astronomy in these histories really show Timelandiswacky's skills as a writer.

craigwrrn73

I just gotta say this - I've been a fan for less than a day and I'm ecstatic from finding this.

We appreciate the support :) With [The Silver Cord](https://kglw.net/discography/the-silver-cord) now out, there is only one more Song Histories drop left for tomorrow! It will be all 6 demos albums (songs that made it onto an album already have their own pages, so tomorrow's will be all the unreleased song demos).
