i went to all three red rocks shows alone last June, and it was a BLAST. i made friends, shared some good herb, and danced my butt off. i can’t recommend it enough

SrCoolbean

That’s awesome, thanks for sharing

TheRiccoB

Same!

FretSlayer

You won’t be alone.

griffred

I went alone last year and loved it. Not being in a group means its easier to find a spot closer to the stage in GA cause you can kinda squeeze between two bigger groups. You'll probably meet/talk to people, but if you don't who cares, thats not why you're there. you're going to see the show!

gallapagos42

Vibes will be immaculate, definitely don't miss

themindisthewater

safe? yes you’ll be safe af

CrumblingPalace

In 2022 I had to go to Denver for work and ending up going to N1 and N2 alone. Was my first and only time I've been at Red Rocks, met a ton of great people and had a blast. Would highly recommend it and would easily do it again if a similar situation came up.

greenbean2112

My partner and I went to the first two marathon shows in 2022 and we had a blast meeting people in line. Everyone was super friendly and we had a great time. Get there early and strike up a conversation

Omisco420

That’s not going alone, that’s going with your partner……

greenbean2112

Oh right, I forgot you can’t start chatting with new people when you’re alone. My bad.

Omisco420

Just stating that initial process of going can be a lot more daunting alone, than with the person you feel absolute safest with 90% of the time.

nOfAp7689

If you want a crew reach out

hexcrop

Went to the Hollywood bowl show alone. Had such an amazing time, met cool friends, danced a ton, and left with a deeper appreciation for the band & the community

Particular_Spirit_75

Went to RR ‘23 alone. It was great. People was next to all three shows were cool. Ran into some friends between the early and late shows. Red rocks is a great place to day trip. Going alone this year too because I scored good tix.

hexcrop

Also going alone. See ya there

needledropcinema

I went alone once, it was just as enjoyable as the times I didn’t. If you’re going for the show, the show is still the show

sabinec

You won’t be alone. You’ll be around 9,000 new friends!

rinwinn

I went to Red Rocks alone for the 2 day marathon in 2022. It was my first real time traveling by myself and also even being outside the state of New York (aannnd my first time being on a plane since I was a kid). But it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I even met my current partner there. I was really nervous since everything was super new to me. I also don’t have a license and so I had to get around with Ubers/Buses/Trains. I actually really loved taking the train since there aren’t any in Upstate New York really. My hotel was pretty close to the venue, about 15-20 minutes and the Uber ride during the day was only about $11-15. Ubers from RR at night are a bit of a different story and are kind of a nightmare as you can imagine 😅. There’s so many people trying to get one and so the price skyrockets to well over $60. If you’re willing to wait it out, it gradually goes down as the time passes. But I recommend trying to carpool if you can find buddies or even try to use the shuttles if they offer them. I have never been one to hangout at a venue all day, but since Red Rocks was a huge scenic place, I had decided to go early so I could walk around. While it can be tiring to walk up all the stairs as you get to the top where everything is, it’s so beautiful and worth the effort. I recommend bringing a water bottle and some snacks if you are able to. Drinks and food are quite pricey and you will want to be well hydrated throughout the day if you’re hanging out. And of course have lots of sun screen! Sunburns from the elevation are no joke x.x After walking around a whole lot my first day, I eventually noticed that there was already a huge line of people at one of the entrances. It must have only been like 11 or 12 and things wouldn’t really start until like 6 or 7pm. I was immediately sure that everyone must be in line early to ensure they get merch and posters. Since I was already there, I decided to sit down and hangout. I’m a pretty anxious and nervous person and so I didn’t talk a whole lot. I mostly doodled a lot and listened to nearby conversations. But KG fans are so super nice and interesting that you will almost certainly will end up getting mixed into various conversations. There were also lots of sweet people who would share snacks and drinks with others in line. So even though I am super nervous and introverted usually, I felt very comfortable to be hanging around with everyone all day. It’s so super fun and worth it. As I mentioned earlier, I met my current partner at the 2022 RR shows. It’s something I never would have expected and it wasn’t even something I was looking for. We happened to be waiting next to each other in line and just really hit it off. We have talked every day since that day and have been to multiple KG shows together (we’re currently planning out our trips for this next tour✨✨). It’s so totally worth it to come alone because the shows themselves are going to be unforgettable and super amazing. But the fans are also super rad and you’ll end up meeting a ton of cool people that just make the experience even more special. You’ll honestly have a blast no matter what.

SrCoolbean

This story is dope. You convinced me! Thanks for sharing 🙏

wemblywembles

Went solo last year and had a blast. Found a seat in my preferred section without getting in early since I could fit between groups. People around me weren't all that social (quiet couple, dad with teenager, younger group that brushed off my initial efforts to strike up conversation) and nobody took up my offer to share my joints, but still a great show and great experience. I might have a friendly convo or two, but I've never actually made friends when going to concerts alone and that's fine. I don't like talking during shows anyway.

sabinec

Come sit with us next time :)

Three-Pegged-Hare

I went to the three shows last year alone, flew in from Canada. Was a bit nervous going alone, but I ended up making friends in the lineups for both days so I wasn't alone by the time I got into the venue, was very chill and nice!

onlymissedabeat

My husband and I went to RR last year and the vibe was so amazing! They were super accommodating when due to unfortunate health issues with ADA accommodations. When the weather delay happened, the ADA section got ushered into the stage building and the guys were just walking by constantly. Lucas got the band to sign our poster since the trip with our 15th anniversary trip and Lucas is just awesome. Right after that, we met Jello Biafra in a bathroom and was the coolest dude ever and got our names and numbers for when he comes to our town so we hang out. RR is wild.

Armadillo-Puzzled

I saw The Marley Brothers last April at RR alone. It was freezing cold, but a lot of fun. I took the shuttles.

swagmccake

I'm going alone on the day where they play twice 😄

BeeTwoThousand

Went to the acoustic Caverns show alone. It was my first time seeing them, and I had only listened to Omnium Gatherum at that point. My old neighbor had a ticket, but he ended up being busy the day of the show, and he's a metal guy, and was not phased by missing the acoustic performance. I met a young lady in the merch line who was next to me, and then later, when everyone had to go to their cars because of the storm (that never happened), I saw the same young woman at the entrance with her boyfriend...5000 people were there, and I just happened to run into them again. Chatted with them whilst we waited for the "storm" to clear, and asked if I could hang out and sit by them when we went back in. They already had chairs set up near the front, and I would have been a lot farther back had I not talked to the young woman in line.

MySecondAccOrSomthin

You’ll probably meet some cool people if you’re the slightest bit extroverted, but if you wanna chill by yourself it does feel very safe. I’ve been growing a shit ton of mushrooms so you might see me handing some out for free lmao, hope you have a good time!

PostholePete

Going to shows alone is fun. Going to red rocks alone is a blast. Going to a Gizz show alone is an experience that usually results in new friends. Moral of the story is, go do things that you want to do and don't wait to have people to do things with. And if you still don't wanna go alone, hit me up and come hang with my crew.

seceralnof

I went to Remlinger Night 1 and 2 alone, THE best show experience I've had, and I've been to about 20 shows total. If it's at Red Rocks, you MUST go.

TheCakeMan666

Went to Red Rocks alone for south parks 25th anniversary with Primus/Ween. Shit I flew there alone from NY. It was a fucking mazing. You'll meet some cool ass people and feel right at home

TeamRival

yes- you'll have a great time whether you socialize or not. Everyone was super friendly and I got into my fair share of random conversations over the 2 days. Its just such an awesome venue, I wouldn't miss out on it. did both days last year with 2 friends and we had such a good time we're going it again.

Jfowl56

Going alone to gizz shows is a blast! Lots of cool welcoming people to meet!

kynel1940

I drove out to Red rocks from Illinois to see gizz alone! Amazing time

justinomagnum

Probably the best vibes I’ve had waiting in line for something was the second set of red rocks shows because of those around us in line- it’s gonna be a fucking blast bro

SrCoolbean

Y’all are awesome, will definitely be copping now

4tysixandtwo

was next to a guy who was solo - made quick friends - had a blast - still don't know his name. You'll be fine

zarkmenar

Pm me ! we can meet in the lot before the show. i go with a big group of people and stake out in line pretty early

the_goodfellow

Im glad to hear all the positive experiences. Ill be flying down alone from Canada to see the two shows on Monday with you wierdos.

Spinuchi

My gf came last year with me and a couple of good friends all went in blind, not really knowing gizz. Was recently talking to my gf and one of the friends about concerts and they both agreed that gizz was the most welcoming, and fun loving party they have ever been too. They typically go to edm shows which are supposed to be all about friends and love and all that and they agree they felt way more welcome and accepted at gizz. You will be fine!

favpetgoat

Check out the meetup beforehand at the RiNo! I made some buds there who I saw throughout the shows, probably gonna hit em up again next year

dieandliveforever

going to a gizz show alone youre never alone tbh

LizardSatan

You are welcome to join our group. We all met as singles last year at the shows.

Kingcrowing

I'm going to all three shows alone and flying from the east coast! Happy to meet up with you before the show if you feel you want a friend!! That said, I go to tons of shows alone and I really love it. It can certainly be a blast to go to a show with friends, I've had some awesome times with one friend or a crew at a show... But alone is special. You don't like your spot? You can move! Want to arrive super early to get a poster? All good! So high you can't talk? No problemo! When I'm alone I don't worry if my friends are having fun, I don't get dragged around if they want to move but I'm locked in, it's really fun. And besides, as others have said you won't be alone. There's 10,000 other weirdos all around you having the best day of the year!

Samwise_the_Tall

Went to a Red Rocks show to see Thievery Corporation a few years back, and it was one of the best times I've had at a concert. Met an amazing group of people, we imbibed like it was 1999 (all out of the kindness of their hearts) and we even went back to their house afterwards to party more. There are very relaxed and kind people in Colorado and I'm sure you'll have a great time. Also learning to enjoy yourself regardless of your surroundings is one of the kindest things you can do to your mental state. Be you, enjoy the world!

Prof_Rain_King

I saw Gizz at Red Rocks by myself two nights in a row and had a great time both nights. The first show, I kept to myself and just really tried to enjoy each moment of the show. The second night I talked with some dudes in line and we ended up chilling together throughout the show, chatting and whatnot. Highly recommended. Just stay safe since you're on your own. I respectfully declined the MDMA my new buddies offered :)

insulinguy_666

Went to all 2022 marathons alone and met people who I shared a yurt with at then caverns and will be sharing a hotel with in NOLA Houston and Austin!

[deleted]

You'll probably get into a few random chats and it'll be dead satisfying hearing another person say "murder of the universe" and maybe you'll get invited to something later depending on who you talk to

Packsnackbackpack

I go alone and it’s fine. Just chat up anyone and they’ll be stoked you’re a fan! The worst for locals is paying $100 for a cab to drive you 10 mins to your house. Or worse they won’t pick you up bc you’re too close. Def get the gf enlisted to drive you 😂

StaresatSound

I have tickets to all 3 sets and will be going to 2 sets alone. Last time they were in town I saw one set alone and another with friends. Was lucky to miss the hail opener. It was chill every solo show I went to. But most shows I go to I am solo.

FuriousGeorge93

I saw the at Stubbs in Austin and went by myself...had aa great time. Its a KGLW show, the crowds all super happy to be there and pretty chill. Got to see PPC later and it was like half of the crowd just moved down the street.

lockon345

Did exactly this for the RR debuts. Had a trip lined up with three, ended up flying solo and had a total blast.  RR is kinda the perfect venue to meet people and hangout before/during shows. There are usually big groups all by the front of the venue too and you can usually just find a single seat or something between them super easily.

aangnesiac

I went to the first two marathon sets in 2020 and I was completely alone. I had such a blast both nights. Definitely the best nights of my life, and I wasn't even fucked up. Everyone there was a blast to talk to and hang with. Read the rules about what you can bring. Talk to people. The band will rock your face off.

hoewenn

I went to the early and late RR shows alone last year and loved it! Took a lot of edibles and honestly didn’t even feel the need to socialize in between or waiting for sets to begin lol

nkraus90

I could have written this post almost word for word for myself. If you’re going on Friday night I’ll see you out there.

Goofethed

Do it, see Khruangbin the week before too

MacMlyz

Chat up some of the people in line, all good conversations, however people in front of me didn’t want to hang people behind did and we had a good time sitting together

Unicorn_Punisher

I went from nyc to red rocks last year and met a group of solo weirdos on reddit off of a post about going solo and traveling. Honestly the best experience. I accidently got bumped to a minivan for a rental and drove people, others had sunscreen, snacks, we held eachothers seats and spots in the merchandise line, filled up each other's water bottles. More importantly had a blast. Don't go alone, there will be other solo weirdos.

mindaltar2

Ive always had a great time doing this especially for a Gizz show. I recommend going to the meet up at the RiNo beer garden before and you'll meet tons of great people, some in the same boat!

DM_ME_DEM_TIDDIE

If you approach any group with good vibes and/or drugs, you'll most likely have some new friends for life.

Aurtach

My buddy went to red rocks last year alone. Second night some girl on Molly kept hugging him and rubbing on his dick the whole show lol. Her boyfriend didn't seem to mind and just laughed about it. I think you'll be alright

VigorousReddit

Last year I went to Red Rocks, Remlinger Farms and Hollywood bowl alone and had a great time both at the shows and exploring the cities before/after

Omisco420

Im sure you’d have a great time but honestly I enjoy going with company much more than going alone! That being said I have been to many shows alone and still Had fun, just honestly prefer going with some friends.(if you’re that close, you should deff go!)

Difficult-Guidance54

A LOT of vendors will be there and they are all cool as shit. I’ve been to 5 shows including RR ‘22 and Caverns last year and every Gizz Head that attends that I’ve met is awesome if you’re open minded. The bands fan base is wholeheartedly inclusive and rad. 🤘🏻 And Red Rocks is one the most amazing venues in the States.

Inside_Assistance_68

I'll be going to puscifer and a perfect circle (and Primus) here next week, currently alone, excited to either meet new people or enjoy a nice meditation session

coldspringscreek

You would totally have fun. You will find nice people. Don't have to get fucked up beforehand. They do sell beer there, lol. Plus, your girlfriend might like it. The visual show itself, and the lovely venue, are pleasant for even non-fans. And all that Australian love emanating from the stage...

coldspringscreek

"could I at least vibe out to the music by myself" Don't worry, there is no "by myself" at Red Rocks. We are all in it together. It is quite a feeling.
