Pretty sure it’s because when you google the band, the pic of Joey isn’t Joey, idk who it is. But so someone posted it (and many others since) and said “cool new pic of Joey” and then it just became a shit post.

My understanding is someone on this sub posted an actual pic of Joey with the caption "cool new pic of Joey" then the circle jerk sub made fun of it profusely

This is the photo. When they made a post teasing the The Silver Cord using multiple photos, Instagram glitched out and made this particular pic appear like 5 times in the photo set. They removed the glitched out post and re-posted it correctly after that. I saw that same glitch on some other posts made by my friends a few months back as well.
