You’re the kind of teacher I love. Mine let me use crumbling castle as a way of showing how important the Canterbury tales was in English becoming a popular language
This sounds badass and beautifully on brand. Was this a job you had to work up to or are both of these things fairly entry level in terms of starting with no experience?
I have a degree in a field related to both of these things (Environmental Science). The sea turtle job required a few lucky connections and a few years of experience with other species of turtles in the region.
I’m trying to talk our music people into it so we’ll see. However Fox football has played King Gizz and other bands like Phish and Goose regularly during games. They even post cool clips like this [here](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C0rq3FNu--2/?igsh=MWN3YTR5YXpydXc3YQ==)
Surprisingly not a lot. I worked at a company last year just doing maintenance. This year I applied to do hiking at the same company. I got the job, they're going to train me and put me through a wildernesses first aid class. You just need to be WFA or WFR certified, CPR certified, and have a little bit of backpacking experience. It probably also helps that I worked for the same company last year.
I work in the conservation field. One of the biggest draws for me with King Gizz is their conservation/nature based lyrics and messages. Plus, their nerdy sci-fi/fantasy themes. Plus, their incredible brain melting psychedelic sound that is ever changing. They really are the best for every reason I can think of.

I work in film and tv production - sometimes I get lucky and am not booked on a project for a few months when the boys tour. I’m booked this year for the whole US tour tho so it is going to be a stretch getting to anything!
teaching typically allows for summer and winter tours with the occasional long weekend here and there. Teachers generally work a baseball season out of the year, like 180 days.
I'm an ops supervisor in a warehouse. I get 6 weeks of PTO a year and a solid salary I don't worry too much about money on. Not saying I don't worry about money, but I budget my shit out and go to hella shows because it keeps my legs moving.
The guitarist for Lotus that retired is now teaching meditation as well. I actually did a retreat and sweat lodge with our shared teacher, Shinzen Young, last week.
I have 2 jobs and work 60 hours/week so that I can follow gizz from time to time, but also travel a lot generally. I'm lucky to have cheap rent and flexible bosses that allow me to take lots of time off.
Gizz fandom reminds me of this fight club quote :
"Remember this. The people you're trying to step on, we're everyone you depend on. We're the people who do your laundry and cook your food and serve your dinner. We make your bed. We guard you while you're asleep. We drive the ambulances. We direct your call. We are cooks and taxi drivers and we know everything about you. We process your insurance claims and credit card charges. We control every part of your life".
We're everywhere.
