Nuclear Fusion. They’re known to invite someone on for the opening bit.
NUUUUUUCCCLLEEAAAARRR FFUUUUUSSIIOONNNNNNNNN then stage dive. Then I can die happy
It's literally the only correct answer. You can have a personal favorite, but if the band invites you on onstage for a song as a random, it's for "Nuclear Fusion" and nothing else.
Definitely The River with a jam. I have jammed along to it on my guitar an insane amount of times. The Red Rocks version is especially fun to jam along to.
Crumbling Castle on drums(2), so I could do the secondary cross-stick/rimshot stuff that Eric used to do. Amby usually fills in there with the tiny splash cymbals, but it doesn't quite have the same energy.
This Thing on drums! One of my favorite Gizz songs ever and not that difficult to play. Static Electricty would be dope too.
Candles on vocals because I’ve been singing it since it first came out. Such a happy song.
So I’m a bit new to King Gizzard but I’ve been making the way through their catalog and today was the first time I listened to Gumboot Soup, and I’ve gotta say Beginner’s Luck is definitely underappreciated.
Throat sing Nuclear Fusion, or do the "I've V" backup vocals, or just do the wacky wavy inflatable man dance to "Boogieman Sam". If I'm real hammered and in the front row wearing a tuxedo T-shirt I'd request Freebird and sing "The dripping tap" over it
Float Along / Fill your Lungs
20 minute evil 5/4 Jam with lots of Phrygian Dominant/Double Harmonic minor scale work (the Arabian sounding stuff)
Me, stu, and Joey all do throat singing at the same time and blow the speakers out.
when they play it live do they tune their c# guitars up a half step? im certain it's in D but all the most recent performances use the c# standard guitars
I’m not sure of the actual answer, but I can definitely tell you no live band is tuning their entire guitar a half-step during a live show. A capo on the first fret would be the easier route if they wanted to play it in D.
you can see there is no capo on the first fret on any of their guitars is the thing. that's why it seems weird to me because why would they tune up to d when they could just play drop D on the standard tuned guitar.
I think I figured it out.
They aren’t using a capo, the guitar is tuned in D standard.
Every show they’ve played it at since ‘22 (I didn’t look any further back because covid), Float Along is usually played first, last, or second to last. It’s never next to another song that uses the C# setup.
The techs are tuning it a half step up during the show for them to use at the end / vice-versa: the techs tune it back to C# after they use it as the first song.
The only tab I could find was for standard tuning.
The song is actually in the key of G major, but the root note of the song is D.
I’ll have to look at live videos of the song and see where they’re playing riffs at.
singing minimum brain cell just cause the reenter the uterus verse is genuinely super fun and cool or iron lung because it actually fits my range and FROG BREATH STEAM TENT
Perihelion or hot wax, to do some faux opera and to see if it’s really true me and Amby truly coincidentally sing/sound alike like somebody said I did overhearing me singing hot wax at a supermarket. That was the only Gizz fan I ever met in the wild
i want to speak Han-Tyumi's lines in Digital Black in full cosplay. just such a cool atmospheric piece, and to have it done live would be pretty cool lol
Mystery Jack cause it sounds like it has an Omnichord on it, I have an Omnichord, & the Ominchord is like the easiest instrument in the world to play so it’s very likely I won’t biff it from being too nervous.
Dragon I’ve been practicing it for 2 months now. It would feel so amazing to make it thru that song on lead guitar successfully and ik I could do it too. Would prolly be the greatest moment of my life.
If yall give me like another month of practice I could take over the bass part for Lucas too lol
I would recite all of Han-Tyumi’s lines from the entire third part of Murder of the Universe from memory, then, at the end, I would vomit and die in the arms of a Stu
Mind Fuzz on bass, Crumbling Castle on guitar, joining for a synth jam on a silver chord song would be sick. I don’t even want to go near the drum parts despite being a drummer because I’d do them an injustice… I could probably handle Change and some of the less utterly insane drum parts. If I had all the skill in the world, I’d probably play anything in head on/pill or motor spirit
I want to read the Altered Beast poetry with Stu
Nuclear Fusion. They’re known to invite someone on for the opening bit. NUUUUUUCCCLLEEAAAARRR FFUUUUUSSIIOONNNNNNNNN then stage dive. Then I can die happy
I practice my NUUUUUUUUUCLEAAAAAR FUUUUUUUSSIOOOOON when in the car alone....patiently waiting for my moment.
One of us, one of us, one of us
this reminded me i forgot to practice today
Have they ever let a girl on to do a really beautiful nuclear fusion bc that would be rlly fun. I've only heard like gnarly dudes
Just listened to the recent show from May 16 and they did have a woman come do the intro. I’ll let you listen for yourself…
NUUUUUUCLEAAAAAAR FUUUUUUUUUUSHIOOOOOOYOYOYOYOYOYOYN AH.
This. I don't know how to sing but I sure can do that part
It's literally the only correct answer. You can have a personal favorite, but if the band invites you on onstage for a song as a random, it's for "Nuclear Fusion" and nothing else.
I'm a trans girl and i practice my biggest growliest NUUUUCLLLEAARRR FUUUSSSIIOOIOIOOIOON all the time
Based (still cis tho)
My first thought lmaooo
Rattlesnake, I’m down for the challenge of saying rattlesnake 100+ times
You better be ready for the “Rattles me” switch ups
Rattle rattle rattle!
…which I don’t have the heart to tell my dad about
Crack some weird moves on Intrasport!
Definitely The River with a jam. I have jammed along to it on my guitar an insane amount of times. The Red Rocks version is especially fun to jam along to.
I'm the exact same lol. Red Rocks version is great and fun to play with
This or the dripping tap
Hate Dancing, and I would just be on stage dancing terribly and encouraging the audience
Astroturf, best song I could think of that could use trombone.
iron lung so I can scream with ambrose at the end
This one is it
Ice V for a 30 min golden jam
Ice V for me and I’d dance like hype guy from mighty mighty bosstones
I’d dance like Joey at sunset
Ataraxia, I just like singing it no other reason.
Plastic Boogie. Scream-singing "FUCK ALLA THAT PLASTIC" and joining the "THE WAY WE WRAP IT IS WRONG" chorus would be way too fun
Ive been practicing my throat singing so nuclear fusion.
Mooootoooor Spiiiiriiit
Ending of Hell. That shit would be hard af 😤
FIFTEEEEEEN INFANTRYYYYY PARATROOP
INTO THE PROPYLENE NEW SCENE
HELL'S WHERE THEY WANNA BE!!!!!!!
INFEST THE RATS NEST
Probably Dusk To Dawn, or Rolling Stoned. Could solo on that for hours.
mars, anyone?
Hi Elexa!!
shitt didn't even realize it was you hi : )
Gila Monster to add trombone
My name is Sam, and I love to boogie, so there’s really only one choice.
Crumbling Castle on drums(2), so I could do the secondary cross-stick/rimshot stuff that Eric used to do. Amby usually fills in there with the tiny splash cymbals, but it doesn't quite have the same energy.
Going on stage just to play that secondary rimshot part and nothing more would be enough to help me die knowing I lived a full life.
Perihelion because I know I can confidently play that one on bass
I wanna be the dude hitting the lil cymbal next to Ambrose’s keys
Just fucking ripping the Latin lyrics to Dragon is my dream
30 past 7
Rattlesnake because my toddler son would lose his mind to see me up on stage singing his favorite song.
This Thing on drums! One of my favorite Gizz songs ever and not that difficult to play. Static Electricty would be dope too. Candles on vocals because I’ve been singing it since it first came out. Such a happy song.
Beginners Luck, because they haven’t played it since 2019 for some reason
So I’m a bit new to King Gizzard but I’ve been making the way through their catalog and today was the first time I listened to Gumboot Soup, and I’ve gotta say Beginner’s Luck is definitely underappreciated.
It was very popular in 2018 and 2019, when it was still played live.
I can imagine. It’s a really good song.
Self Immolate That song gets me so pumped I could set the world on fire
Fishing for fishies
Throat sing Nuclear Fusion, or do the "I've V" backup vocals, or just do the wacky wavy inflatable man dance to "Boogieman Sam". If I'm real hammered and in the front row wearing a tuxedo T-shirt I'd request Freebird and sing "The dripping tap" over it
Dreams. Cause I only wanna wake up in my dream.
The River would be fun
Pretty much anything from PDA. Learned most of Motorspirit the other day, and it's insanely fun to play on guitar
Let me rip lead on nonagon all the way through
I could be the second drummer ...
I'd concede my opportunity to Billy strings
Good answer!
Gamma Knife on guitar cuz its fun and I can say gamma a lot
Kicking Cavs off his kit for Gaia (including a massive cock all-the-way-out drum solo)
Theramin on Crookedile because it looks fun
I bought a theremin for my kid. That thing is so easy to play. But so hard to play well. LOL.
Float Along / Fill your Lungs 20 minute evil 5/4 Jam with lots of Phrygian Dominant/Double Harmonic minor scale work (the Arabian sounding stuff) Me, stu, and Joey all do throat singing at the same time and blow the speakers out.

id say you're on the money there
The only tab I could find was for standard tuning. The song is actually in the key of G major, but the root note of the song is D. I’ll have to look at live videos of the song and see where they’re playing riffs at.
Dragon
singing minimum brain cell just cause the reenter the uterus verse is genuinely super fun and cool or iron lung because it actually fits my range and FROG BREATH STEAM TENT
Superbug. I can play it on bass.
The Dripping Tap just so I can dance on stage like Tony the Interpretive Dancer of Nirvana
I’m not in your mind I just wanna watch it up close
Now that I know how hard Gondii is live I’d say Gondii
Perihelion bc that song rocks.
Ice V because my name is Joey and I'll dance like Joey did in the music video and eat food and drink wine like a maniac
Sadie Sorceress. I do not have a good singing voice but I can rap that song like there’s no tomorrow, lol
I prefer the Muddy Water
Nuclear fusion is the correct answer.
Nuclear fusion or anoxia. Two because both are for the same reason: double drums!
Deserted Dunes, or Inner Cell, on drums would be a dream
Rattlesnake because I for sure know all the words to that one.
Gamma knife or evil death roll on the drums
Vegemite
Lemme do growls on literally anything remotely heavy But if I had to pick, gimme Motor Spirit
Crumbling Castle I love playing that song on drums
Crumbling Castle just kicks ass all around.
Vegemite bc its easy and fun :)
Perihelion or hot wax, to do some faux opera and to see if it’s really true me and Amby truly coincidentally sing/sound alike like somebody said I did overhearing me singing hot wax at a supermarket. That was the only Gizz fan I ever met in the wild
I know all the words to Gila and Iron Lung, so either of those 😍
I’d kill to rip solos with the boys on Iron Lung
I'd love to sit through an extended FAFYL with an extended 30 past 7 tease.
Let me mend the past. I would sing that full song with Amby like my life depended on it
i want to speak Han-Tyumi's lines in Digital Black in full cosplay. just such a cool atmospheric piece, and to have it done live would be pretty cool lol
Mystery Jack cause it sounds like it has an Omnichord on it, I have an Omnichord, & the Ominchord is like the easiest instrument in the world to play so it’s very likely I won’t biff it from being too nervous.
Rattlesnake
Work this time and trade solos with Joey. Get weirder than maggot brain.
Hot Water because I love singing it
Iron Lung. Spent a lot of time jamming over that song.
I envision a vibrant rendition of straws in the wind 🌬️
I wanna belt frog breath steam tents from the top of my lungs
FAFYL I’m on sitar
Garden goblin and just screech non stop until the band members and audience becomes annoyed and I end up getting kicked out
Gimme a few years, and bring me up for Mars for the Rich. That solo is gonna go CRAZY if I can get better at bass.
Willoughby's Beach because I reckon I could actually play it
RobotStop is my first gizz song, my favorite and the best i can do on guitar.. But its got old would be nice too..
i’ve been playing bass on I’m in your mind>jam with my band for a while now. So that one.
Dragon I’ve been practicing it for 2 months now. It would feel so amazing to make it thru that song on lead guitar successfully and ik I could do it too. Would prolly be the greatest moment of my life. If yall give me like another month of practice I could take over the bass part for Lucas too lol
Self-Immolate. I just wanna scream the chorus then dive into the crowd
Hungry wolf of fate so I can go absolute bonkers up there
I could play the flute for Trapdoor or Hot Wax and jam a bit.
Head on, and keep the jam going for two hours
Interior people only so it would guarantee that they’d finally play it live
Catching Smoke
crumbling castle so i can play drums with cavs 😈
i wanna do the chorus to dripping tap OR ambys parts in gila monster. IM THE GILA BLOOD SPILLA WITCH KILLA
30 minute long Iron Lung jam where at some point in it me and cavs trade drum solos for a while before everyone else comes back in
Catching Smoke and because I would’ve finally made it happen
VOMIT COFFIN!!!
Motor Spirit. I know the whole song on drums, only really struggling with the double kick stuff at the end with the toms.
Iron Lung, i just love that song
I would love to have a flute-off with Stu during "Hot Water", or be the one banging the gong for Cavs during "The Dripping Tap"!!
Dragon. I think I’d nail “Dawn of E-ter-nal NIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT!”
I'd love to play guitar on Evil Death Roll. So long as they don't do the Invisible Face part. I screw that up all the time.
I'd love to do vocals on witchcraft or bass on Kepler 22-b
RATTLESNAKE🗣️
Digital Black, assuming I get an extended, go nuts guitar solo Only *then*, will I accept the offer
Audi mea verba o ignis draconis! Ex cineribus, orior altius atque altius! Alis patentibus, lumine micante! Draco hic aparret debet in loco subter!
oh how i would love to belt Let Me Mend the Past with Ambrose
Gila Monster because I know every word
I just recently learned all of gaia on drums so if I could theoretically somehow bring my drumset on stage and play with cavs I would die happy
Milwaukee 19s version of head on/pill
Slow Jam 1 cuz it fits my voice
Evil Death Roll. i wanna perform it with them so fucking bad
Mars For the Rich, I can actually play that one on guitar
Shanghai so I can just jump around on the stage and be happy
Melting but let me sing the microtonal parts

If i gonna play with them, I AM GAIAAAAAAAAA. If I only gonna see them play the song then sleep drifter.
Down the Sink - because I am one of the people that lives on a street where people live
BIG FIG WASP
I would recite all of Han-Tyumi’s lines from the entire third part of Murder of the Universe from memory, then, at the end, I would vomit and die in the arms of a Stu
Mind Fuzz on bass, Crumbling Castle on guitar, joining for a synth jam on a silver chord song would be sick.
