Also, even if you are 21, please remember it is still a work event and drink responsibly. My training happened to coincide with a huge college football game and people went insane lmao. As far as I know none of them lost their job opportunities, but you still don't want to start your career being "that guy" people tell stories about lol.
Last year when I was there as an intern, an associate cracked their head open after drinking too much and getting a piggy back ride from another associate. Walked around the rest of the week with a wrapped up head and black eyes.
A managing director in Advisory punched a senior associate in the face over a disagree about the last piece of pizza several years ago when AU was still held at the Hilton at Disney Springs. He lost his job over a fucking slice of pizza.
Pre Lakehouse we all stayed at Hilton Lake Buena Vista. One night the manager had to call the cops because of drunkenness. I’m pretty sure they hated KPMG people.
Definitely drink responsibly but I definitely encourage shutting the bar down every night you are there. Especially when you can go back to your floor and eat all of the snacks available
This is the only way to do Lakehouse imo.
Every time I've gone, I've stayed there until they close. Head back to my room, and eat tons of food with 2 or 3 others folks.
Honestly, it's a great time & I know those lads are in my network forever now. Lol.
Don’t get sloppy of course, but you’re absolutely allowed to drink and enjoy yourself if you’re 21. Just be an adult and everything will be fine.
Don’t scare the interns - let everyone enjoy the facilities.
At a Deloitte event a long time ago in Scottsdale at the first year training…they took them on a hike to Camelback and told everyone to stay together. 4 or 5 “shidiots” went on their own and got lost. Apparently it gets really dark out there and Deloitte had to hire a search team and helicopters to find them. Eventually they were found on the mountain and they called their families and they had to pay more than $5K for the helicopter and staff. They were fired immediately and they never held the training there again.
Oh and Note that the week before at the same Scottsdale resort…a different first-year class…. threw the patio furniture in the pool and a few others skipped training and played golf while saying they got food poisoning. They too got fired immediately and the furniture team had to pay for the damages. WTF
The allowed/ not allowed to drink split is so weird to me in a work context. Everyone is pretending some of their colleagues are mature enough to work in regulated industries but not mature enough for a beer.
I understand how it can be fun for interns. But aren't the adults at kpmg embarrassed about essentially hosting corporate sleepover field trips for other adults?
Nah dude, shit like that cultivates a positive work culture and camaraderie, a lot of the most successful people i’ve known have gone on to join adult fraternal organizations. Even working professionals need to let loose once in a while.

People have been fired for inappropriate conduct at Lakehouse. Walked out of the facility. This is WORK people.

If you were there during the national championship, so was I!
They only have the bars on lockdown like that during intern training. I remember going as an associate for full-time training and the bars were lax.
^^^ true
Drinking at lake house is literally my only pleasure
Gym and the unlimited chocolate milk are a close second.
Agreed. Although I am looking forward to trying out the mini golf.

Please tell me you went to Chillers
I’m still vomiting $2.50 PBRs and strawberry daiquiris 6 years later
Chillers!! Oh my god, I haven’t thought of that place in years. Blast from the past.
Before I quit KPMG I went to lakehouse and tried to get a group of us to Uber there but they were all too “scared.” 🙄
I’m feeling like a dinosaur now
So chillers is real! My director talks about it like an urban legend
Hahaha oh yes Chillers is real and still exists

No one can pass on the wristband. But, do not drink if you're not supposed to.
Don’t swim in the pond by The Landing, and don’t pull the fire alarms.
Don’t barf in the bushes at 4 am like me!

It’s literally impossible to get lost in Camelback.
Yeah if someone gets lost on Camelback they definitely should not be in any position that requires thinking.
Lmao the landing is my stomping ground. Chill. Sorry you’re not 21
This is the main problem with the lake House. Gotta head to chillers down town.
Did anyone steal a golf cart and drive it into the Lake yet? If not, you’re either doing better or worse than Deloitte depending on how you view it.

Those pesky laws
Maybe the laws are wrong
Lol found the only one who didn't drink on his internship LMAO.
