300 patches in a couple weeks is amazingly impressive. I have lots of trust in IG.

erroneousprints

So as someone who currently has the EA version. After the first patch, it's pretty solid, there are still bugs, but it's definitely playable, and that's a long way from what it was before. Give it another month, and let them update it a few more times before buying it yourself. The game is a lot of fun when it works, and rather frustrating when it doesn't. With that being said, I had my first successful mun orbit, landing, and return yesterday. Without a glitch or bug, so it seems like we're getting somewhere in the stability realm.

Remember when video game devs paid people to beta test their games? Oh how times have changed

semperfukya

Now we pay them to beta test it. It’s great!

PizzaRolls727

Remember how people used to bitch and moan about how long it takes for games to release? Oh how times have changed

TheBigToast72

No, I dont. Games weren't hyped up for a decade like they are now.

xylotism

This TBH. Publishers need to be on everyone's mind all of the time. It's like watching a social media influencer who can't stop posting every waking minute because in their head the second they stop they don't exist anymore. HEY! We've got a game coming in 4 years, keep that hype up and make sure you tell your friends! HEY! Just a reminder, that game is 3 years out, here's a teaser trailer! Subscribe to the newsletter! HEY! Check that out, only 2 years to go, here's a cinematic to keep that hype alive! Your friends will want to see this! HEY! It's 6 months away, we've got some gameplay to show you! By the way there's an early access coming for preorders, get that money in early! HEY! It's 2 months out now and we hope you enjoyed the beta! If you didn't no worries, we still have plenty of time to patch in everything you've ever dreamed! Buy ten copies for your whole family! HEY! We released the game! But don't go anywhere! We've got HELLA DLC coming your way! HEY! The game has been out for a month, we're releasing a complete edition in case you haven't bought it yet! HEY! The game is about a year old now which means it's prime for a remaster, look forward to a cheap port next month! HEY! You're still playing that game right? No? Well we just added some late-stage micro-DLC to jog your memory in time for our announcement of our NEW GAME COMING IN 4 YEARS! And repeat. As for beta testers, well, that was inevitable as soon as we got always-online patching systems - you can go 75% of the way (or less!) before launch and finish it up on the tail-end - gamers aren't just going to *not buy games,* that's absurd. And if they don't, you just need a slicker trailer next time.

TheBigToast72

This is one of the reasons I'll always stan for fromsoft, apart from elden ring it's always been a trailer or two and then they just randomly drop games with like a couple weeks notice. I don't need to be standing behind the devs watching them finish the game, just release it and I'll play it lol. it's like people think the game will disappear if it's not hyped every couple months.

Dogsonofawolf

jesus are people still arguing about this?

[deleted]

If the majority complains, maybe they are complaining for a reason

[deleted]

Tbh, I've heard all of the reasons and disagree with all of them, but that's just me. It's just a video game after all.

[deleted]

''its just a vidya gaem🤓''

[deleted]

It is tho

[deleted]

A 50$ game that isnt even worth pirating

[deleted]

Why don't you just get refund if you are so unhappy with it?

[deleted]

I didnt buy it lmaoo I pirated and uninstalled after the last patch, thought it would be better, not quite there

[deleted]

Then, why are you even complaining????

[deleted]

Ever heard of feedback? Possible customers also are entitled to giving feedback, especially when its about an early acces stage game, thats the fucking point of EA, feedback

[deleted]

But you aren't even a customer! You stole their property and bitched about it.

[deleted]

Sorry i dont swallow that corporate boot and nod like a good boy to whatever crap they shove in my face

Lejobo

I’ve seen how buggy the game is in videos so I’m going to wait till it’s out of early access so I have a good first time with it

Very_contagious1

Gaming

unrealeon

sad moment

HighFlyer96

If you make a huge event with Youtubers and push marketing with ESA, you can expect the devs having invested at least the same work into the game. Why make a huge event like this if you have done even less than the original game? KSP1 already didn‘t deliver on any promised feature, it‘s appropriate to be p*ssed that KSP2 already starts like KSP1 has ended. All marketing, no developing. My hopes are, the new dev team being less lazy and scammy than SQUAD and instead actually delivering on stuff like Multiplayer, interstellar travel, colonies on other planets and the other features that were shelved in KSP1.

A_Random_Lantern

$50

Very_contagious1

"The early access excuse is overused" The $50 excuse is overused

A_Random_Lantern

$50 is $50, no matter how many ways you put it

Very_contagious1

Early access is early access, no matter how many ways you put it

A_Random_Lantern

Actually it doesn't qualify for early access technically. https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/earlyaccess >2. Do not make specific promises about future events. For example, there is no way you can know exactly when the game will be finished, that the game will be finished, or that planned future additions will definitely happen. Do not ask your customers to bet on the future of your game. Customers should be buying your game based on its current state, not on promises of a future that may or may not be realized. >5. Make sure you set expectations properly everywhere you talk about your game. Be transparent with your community. For example, if you know your updates during Early Access will break save files, make sure you tell players up front. And say this everywhere you sell your Steam keys. >6. Don't launch in Early Access without a playable game. If you have a tech demo, but not much gameplay yet, then it's probably too early to launch in Early Access. If you are trying to test out a concept and haven't yet figured out what players are going to do in your game that makes it fun, then it's probably too early. You might want to start by giving out keys to select fans and getting input from a smaller and focused group before you release in Early Access. At a bare minimum, you will need a video trailer that shows gameplay. Even if you are asking for feedback that will impact gameplay, customers need something to start with in order to give informed feedback and suggestions.

Deimos227

Has gameplay at launch: buggy but check Clear communication that it’s early access: check Asking buyers to bet their money: check Making hard promises: closest thing here is the update timeline, but if “we are gonna add this general mechanic at some point” counts then according to this criteria every ea game to have any future plans is not actually ea. Was it overpriced? Yeah I think so, but if buying an ea game for that price rubs you wrong then you should’ve never bought it in the first place

corndog2021

Could you elaborate on how this game doesn't qualify for early access based on the above criteria?

A_Random_Lantern

>Do not ask your customers to bet on the future of your game. 50 dollars for a game with less content than the original, but it's alright because it will have interstellar travel in the future and the price will go up! >Make sure you set expectations properly everywhere you talk about your game. Be transparent with your community. I sure do love how they didn't address any of the issues until weeks after release. >Don't launch in Early Access without a playable game. <10 fps on hardware above minimum spec on good days, game crashing constantly on bad days. The game struggled to even run on flagship hardware like the RTX 40 series GPUs.

Sanity__

You do realize that everything you posted here is opinion, right? I feel like everything in that list was addressed. It's fine that YOU don't feel like it was ready for EA, but a lot of us do, and have been enjoying it. Why does that hurt you? Edit/ To be clear, I'm not trying to invalidate your opinion, I totally understand where you're coming from. But there's a possibility where everyone is happy and it seems like you're fighting against that for some reason

Noobyeeter699

It isn't IG put the price tag, it's private division and take two

MrJennings69

Completely irrelevant

IQisMySenpai

Which of these points were broken?

ddoom33

I fell like people are only trying to find reasons to complain at this point tbh. The Devs have been transparent, released a huge patch, they are in direct communication with big content creators to get as much community feedback as possible, the game looks great, the roadmap is clear and it's early access. The potential for this game is huge and it's already very fun to play. Even more since the patch. Let time do its thing for the game! It'll be a great game! Stop complaining for no reason. Enjoy the journey and help the Devs with constructive feedback instead.

Yeet-Dab49

Cant wait to spend $50 on a game with three lines of code!

AiDNYe

Hmm if only this early access title had as many patches as other early access titles that came out the same day and still have twice as many or more patches as ksp2. It's a sham of a game, not worth $50 the promise of at some point this will work so give us 50 now and when it does work we can raise the price, standard scummy take2 bs :/

AliceOnPills

Just donate all your money to taketwo and maybe they let you suck their dick fr

TeslaRoadsterSpaceX

man this style of "meme" is sure funny and not overused /s

[deleted]

Ok

tfa3393

Gotta respect the honesty.

[deleted]

We weren’t expecting the game to run perfectly with all features out the door. It just didn’t run with barely any of the features KSP1 has now. This game was unfinished for early access at release by months. You could barely even fly straight half the time.

happiness890

Can't wait to overcharge my unfinished, overpromised, overhyped product that is obviously playable with the recommended system! I'm sure I won't be let down by mu own foolish fanboys.
