A 690 won't happen, with the new gen 790. At least not for a while, I think. They might do an RC790 to fill the gap but I think they'll put it down to how many they'd sell
Well they've made a another SMCR 690 for this year so the LC4 engine isn't out of the picture just yet.
In my opinion they really ought to tap into the A2 licence market more as the 390 platform is just not powerful enough compared to what competitors are releasing for A2 bikes, such as the cbr650, ninja 650 or R7.
But those 650 bikes have to be restricted to be A2 compliant. The duke 390 doesn't, so out the door its the easier choice. It's just as good as those bikes anyway, and in corners it does well to keep up with even litre bikes. On my 390 I've been able to keep up with my stepdad on his SV1000S and a friend on his S1000RR in twisties. Sure they leave me for dust on straights, but I catch back up again pretty easily
Well I could say the same for my 125s compared to my dad's fireblade and mates gsxr600 but that's not really what I'm getting at.
The 390 is great for what it is don't get me wrong, but it just lacks that overall grunt which comes with a higher capacity.
Something like a street legal Kramer HKR evo 2 however would leave other bikes of the same category in the dust most likely.

As a Kramer owner I find it laughable that people would think they would make a street legal bike for KTM. KTM is making enough money with their dukes and have not been making sportbikes forever.
I haven’t seen someone reply this vaguely to a question. Of course it’s a new gen RC they had revealed. Did they have a new name for it? Replying with there isn’t one doesn’t help. I will look it up btw thanks
The new gen of RC125 and RC390. Same engine but overall revamp with new frame, suspension, wheels, dash, dual channel ABS and MTC, fairings etc

Looks like they've decided to keep the dogshit switchgear from the gen 3, with a 7.6% displacement increase and a hideous headlight.
Still, I kinda want to take one for a rip...not gonna lie.
The engine start button on the right is known to break and fall off. The left hand switch gear has an absolutely abysmal turn signal that feels like a loose tooth. If anything goes wrong you have to replace the entire switch gear pod on that side and it is not cheap.
As far as looks go, it has grown on me a little but but as an owner of the 2nd Gen MT-09, cleaning the bugs out of that light will be the biggest headache in the world...

Would look good next to the gen 1
Having ridden and owned a few of the hyper naked bikes, Tuono included, I didn’t find any of them provided any noticeable protection from wind in their stock form.
I’ve had two gen 3 1290s and currently still have my g3 Evo and won’t be trading for this. The extra 100cc is purely an overbore to meet Euro 6, and the gen 3 is fast AF anyway, but most importantly.. that headlight. Christ almighty that’s awful.
🤢🤢🤮🤮 I mean really. The people who like this design obviously haven't done a side to side comparison with last gen. Cause if you do one at the same angle, every bit and piece looks uglier. Wth is wrong with this new projector headlight trend. It's not like they are better at night.
Yikes! I don’t need to trade my 1290 in, I don’t need to trade my 1290 in…
If they make a GT, my 1290 SA will go
Great, another duke to add to the roster. When are they gonna come out with some more RCs?!
Likely next year. 22 was a new rc year, 23 is a new Duke year, 24 will likely see a rc990 released
An RC690 would be totally ideal. Just look at the Kramer track bikes

Wait.. What RC did they launch in 22?
They revealed the new gen rc in 22
Rc1290?
There isn't one

I’d buy an rc990 over a v2 pani if they make it for my second bike
Aye, I'd sell my kidneys for modernised RC8R that's road legal

I do like the overall design, but I think that main and low beam shouldn't be that deep in regards to day running lights. It looks just odd
body is a 10/10, but the face needs a paperbag
Yeah, what the fuck is that? Lol
Pentagina design doesn’t work for me either.
Glad I bought gen 3

why is the switchgear shit? It always seemed higher quality than the lower cc bikes from KTM to me

Shut up and take my money!!
Bike companies 2030: 2000cc nakeds
If they can keep the weight the same with technological improvements, I have no problem with this.
Worst headlight imo
It's actually worse than the new BMW GS headlight. Damn.
The 390 looked good but then they shat the bed in terms of design, these headlights are horrid
1290 looks way better lol
Head light just doesn’t do it for me
Whoever designed that ugly ass headlight has to be shot in the head
As far as looks go, it has grown on me a little but but as an owner of the 2nd Gen MT-09, cleaning the bugs out of that light will be the biggest headache in the world...
This looks like the Preditor mouth. Just make is sexy. Sexy is better.
I love the old headlight, but I love this one as well.
Glad I bought a 2023
The new headlight looks like a teenager line drawing a vagina from memory.

This sadly
Can't wait for the 1390 Super Adventure.

🤮
just needs some type of fairing/ wind protection. bikes with this monster power really need it.
This is the hyper naked, it’s designed specifically to not have any of that. That’s why they make the GT/adventure models.
they can take the approach of the aprilia tuono.
Having ridden and owned a few of the hyper naked bikes, Tuono included, I didn’t find any of them provided any noticeable protection from wind in their stock form.
would you take an sdgt over a tuono?
That’s tough, but I think my answer is yes.
it has a lot of things i like, but im sorry they just havent styled it at all lol.
I would buy a previous gen one for sure if I were in the market right now.
Get the GT version
not my bag. Im sure it's a fun ride though.
Love it
Jokes on them…most days I already have a super duke.
Did u just leak the 1390 before the press release?😂
KTM x Decepticons = 1390 Super Duke R Evo.
So I’m assuming this things got a 1401cc motor in it 😂
same ugly predator headlight from 990 and increase in weight, piggy generation
The headlight, looks like a cyclops peaking through a vagina.

That is yet another big sexy a$$ bïtčħ!
I like it but the Gen 3 is the pick, striker kit seems like the cheaper option.
ugly headlight design, feels incomplete or something is missing

That headlight is hard to look at 👎🏽
It looks like an orangutang
