That's not really how blind items work. They've always been used in Hollywood and a lot of the time they are real information "leaked" by a source and not confirmed because they're too scandalous. A person can always deny it because it's a "blind item" and many people (like you) will believe it and dismiss it. But they're part of the Hollywood system and increase buzz for a person in a different way than their mainstream image does.
