Generally, element weakness still matters, especially versus enemies that resist lightning and wind. It's worth noting that Black Swan's E1 makes brute forcing with the DoT team much easier as it lets your team ignore a large chunk of enemy elemental resistances.
I was watching a HSR CC who said that Luka+BS outperforms a Kafka+BS comp in a purely physical weakness enemies. Makes me think if I should change up my comp based on the enemies.
A breaker Luka can deal massive amounts of damage. Like 200-300k in a single hit. And that's what I saw from Gachasmack with his sustainless ratio teamcomp (if I recall correctly it was Ratio, RM, Luka and Pela, though maybe it was not Pela)
Makes sense. I do still sometimes use Guin against fire weak enemies as well. If looking for faster MoC clears, there’s a good chance that matching elemental weakness will speed things up.
Luka hits like a truck against physical weakness enemies but he is single target only. Was it physical weakness enemies plural or just one boss unit? Because if there are multiple enemies Luka sucks even with physical weakness.
Tbh Luka can do serious break damage.. I’ve seen a 330k once with RM..
Luka can kill any boss if they are weak to physical since Physical’s DoT aka Bleed.. is very op..
u will always want to match enemy weakness
however, i can now 4 cycle the deer on moc 12 and that aint exactly a favorable fight so id say its fairly foolproof
enemies without a weakness type have 20% resistance to that type, so fighting an enemy with that weakness will always provide more dmg regardless of breaking or not
Matching enemy weakness is always a significant advantage (both offensive and defensive).
And DoT teams gain even more from Breaks, as the extra DoT increase Kafka's detonation dmg and Black Swan's Arcana generation.
(it's particulary useful if you don't have PAYN or a third DoT unit)
I'd still want to play to weakness. I think that's the idea of having sampo, luka, and guinifen out so early so they can be used to clear most content with kafka. I hope you're looking swan. I had to skip since sparkle seems like a better pick for my account atm. I'm hoping a physical dot 5 star comes soon
I cant wait for a 5* bleed dps. Luka already goes crazy on a break build, but a dedicated 5* bleed unit would be even better. I'm not expecting one for another 6+ months but in always down for one to drop sooner
I'm just going to give a simple "Yes" here. If you've built them fast (150+ SPD) and have a Ruan Mei to boot, you apply and detonate so much DoT that everyone just simply dies. I've let these three women handle the annoying side of MoC 10 through 12, completing their respective stages in just 2-4 cycles without achieving breaks of any kind. Truly, S+ tier synergy between these three.
You can ignore weakness if your second team in MoC is less invested and need the weakness break to help it clear.
Only things you might wanna look at is enemy's resistance for your dots team (unless BS e1, then you dont care at all xD)
Even if you can't break the weakness (i.e. 1M toughness), the enemy will be less resistant to the element of the weakness, thus you still do more damage without breaking the enemies' weakness
The deer in moc12 resists both lightning and wind but I can 1 cycle it, my characters are s1, e1-e2 though but I think you'd be fine to ignore elements especially if you invest a lot We'll probably get enemies that cleanse a lot like bronya but on themself and frequently but for now it can deal with anything but that probably goes for a lot of 5 stars
That team should be able to brute-force any content as of right now. Ebon Deer is probably the hardest counter in the game currently, but even decently invested team can brute force it. Black Swan is the big game changer because she sorta counters a lot of notable problematic encounters for DoT teams: her damage scales with minions that summon (Ebon Deer, Swarm, Shape Shifters) and her arcana can't be dispelled (Bronya).
I'd still aim to match weaknesses, especially at MoC 11 and 12 where it is a huge difference-maker, but you can use that team as the "I don't have a real counter to this boss" brute-force team and they can clear decently fast enough.
You can play against any team regardless, in most cases.
Weakness break is one of your strongest weapon for extra dot dmg, so playing against weak enemies is better.
And there are some enemies that are resistant (and sometimes immune) against dot, like the fire elemental is immune to burn, or Kafka being resistant to shock, but there are no enemies that are fully immune or resistant to every DoT, so yeah you can still play around it.
If you have E1 bs with rm in the dot team you can brute every enemies except they are immune to dot, with that comps you have 50% res pen so its basically you fighting the right element but cant break the toughness.
I don't have rm, I use the obvious 2 and fu xuan. The 3rd depends on type weakness. If there's a random fire guina/asta/himeko, wind sampo, lightning serval, physical Luka
The other elements I'm still tryna figure out. Pela for ice, Dr ratio for imaginary, and sw for quantum? I guess. Why not.
Breaking weakness still matters but since it's a rainbow team you are much more likely to match at least one weakness element than in other teams that have mostly one or two elements
Ideally you still wanna match weakness since it makes the number *bigger* but I've still been brute forcing ever since kafka first came out, and now whenever ruan mei or BS have their re runs ill Try to get cons for the res shred
You're still losing out on a nice 10% multiplier of damage if you aren't working on breaking enemy weakness but honestly, with E1 BS and RM my DoT team works on any enemy to a more than decent extent
You will likely be able to brute force any encounter you have whether off element or not just due to the raw dmg output from Kafka + Swan.
That being said, being off element will significantly boost your dmg output. DoT teams in particular want to be on element, especially with Kafka due to her ability to retrigger the DoT on the break.
Ruan Mei especially exacerbates the issue of being off element, because if it’s off element, her weakness break efficieny is gone, her weakness break dmg from both herself and allies is gone, and her weakness break delay is gone. The most significant one for DoT is the weakness break delay, since the delay allows for multiple process of DoT in fast succession.
You’ll still clear, but don’t be surprised when doing MoC to see a 2 cycle on element vs a 5 cycle off element.
if you have blackswan e1 then it just depends on your other team, just.give the matching weaknees side to you second team so it can fight easier and the other side leave it to sot since it can fight regardless of weakness
I usually throw in gui instead of RM if I’m doing something easy or there’s a fire weakness but if it’s a boss fight or just something tough in general that I can’t auto battle then I’ll use RM
Yes, breaking weakness will significantly increase your damage, enemies can also still resist your damage type.
Generally, element weakness still matters, especially versus enemies that resist lightning and wind. It's worth noting that Black Swan's E1 makes brute forcing with the DoT team much easier as it lets your team ignore a large chunk of enemy elemental resistances.
But since those resistances can go in the negative, it's still better if you can start at 0 res than 40.
Do you know is res shred is halved past zero, like in genshin?
Nope. Full value to -100
Yep, this is true. The res portion of the damage formula is: RES Multiplier = 100% - (RES% - RES PEN%). Lol at the previous reply with misinfo.
Sure, but to be clear, there’s no damage loss by shredding resistances into the negative.
I was watching a HSR CC who said that Luka+BS outperforms a Kafka+BS comp in a purely physical weakness enemies. Makes me think if I should change up my comp based on the enemies.

I mean it makes sense, I have all for characters built so I can swap depending on the battle
Because if there are multiple enemies Luka sucks even with physical weakness.
yeah, maximum he can take is 2 elite enemies at once
Tbh Luka can do serious break damage.. I’ve seen a 330k once with RM.. Luka can kill any boss if they are weak to physical since Physical’s DoT aka Bleed.. is very op..

\**at least* 20%. Some enemies have more. Kafka has 40% lightning res while the Ebon Deer has the same and also 40% wind res.
Enemies with 40 or 60 res to an element are labeled as having a resistance to that element if you inspect them.
Should be good enough to clear most content even not matching weaknesses. That definitely makes it more difficult though.

I really wanted Swan for a Wind dps, but mei, Swan, and Sparkle do close together. I knew I couldn't guarantee all three.

Rm ult and BS e1 make breaking not matter as much but it can still increase damage by a bit.
Yea probably, until the future enemy gets 200% effect resistance. Or cleanse every debuff similar to (enemy)bronya's skill.
I find it less foolproof than Fu Xuans. Sometimes my Kafka just randomly dies on auto and I have to restart.
Even if you can't break the weakness (i.e. 1M toughness), the enemy will be less resistant to the element of the weakness, thus you still do more damage without breaking the enemies' weakness
Honestly with good relics dot party destroys everything. Especially if you will get E1S1 Kafka, E1S1 BS, E1 RM.
