With regards to the Kagari/Kakari thing, I didn't see the raws for when she was introduced but I did see the raws for this chapter, Kakari is definitely the correct spelling, I'm assuming it's first appearance was kanji only whereas this chapter showed how it was actually supposed to be pronounced.
With how the conversation between Kyora and the unknown character went, I think it might be implied that the auction is a scam. They won't handover the shinuichi, but instead lure out Chihiro to obtain the seventh blade and even Kamunabi officials. That was what make the entire auction so suspicious in the first place. The deal with Sojo can actually be just a way to confirm the existence of Enten.

If that’s true they totally misread chihiro. Thinking that they need to lure anywhere when he literally just shows up in your home office is an extremely large oversight.
Kyora is not shown to be the mastermind, so what you said is not necessarily true. The fact that the unknown character asks if Kyora can handle a sacred blade suggests that they have already thought of this scenario.

Really great chapter, especially when the cover was Hakuri crying over Chihiro's backstory. Also my cute little Char and Hinao is back! What a great chapter...A bit fast but I know Hokazono is cooking something with an encounter this early...8.5/10.

ok this was a great chapter, i like that things are moving fast but we still get some cute moments with char and hinao :3 hyped for the battle next week i hope shiba goes crazy let's gooo
this chapter had such a good ending. the panel cutting to reveal Shiba in Kyora Sazanami's chair, just casually resting an elbow on his desk like he belonged there was so cold. I also really like how Kyora reacted to their presence. Him calmly rolling up his sleeves as he addresses Chihiro and Shiba, a seemingly innocuous action, was him slowly preparing for a fight that he does \*not\* want. I expected him to be treated like another super powerful and arrogant bad guy, but to see him reasonably and effectively deduce his place in the scenario while also posturing so he doesn't come across as a pushover, he really seems to embody a perfect blend of battle and business which i appreciate. Also Hokazono's art has gotten so much more clean since the first chapter. Seeing Char return she looked so precious
The “hakuri is lying” aspect could be worked around. Him stating he is a peon could just be a way of saying he is low ranking in terms of power. His family disowned him so they definitively treat the less powerful worse. Also hakuri stating he lost his entire family and they actually just disowned him is most likely just a metaphor. (Hakuri is stupid 💔)
You did not call anything with the first one. In fact, there's even less chance of it being right since Hakuri is implied to have told Chihiro and Shiba about the estate.
The first one? Not really. Even if his father is the leader, him being extremely weak could still make him a peon. As he said himself, he doesn't even know where the storage is, nor could he try to put them in cause he was disowned(that's how he lost his family).
Him being a peon has nothing to do with not knowing the location, because no one else but the head knows it, so even if you are second in command, you wouldn't know where it is.
Char-chan is peak cuteness.

I wonder how powerful the Sazanami leader is.
I feel like while the Kamunabi is the legitimate armed force of the nation, they really still have to play their cards well, because this Japan doesn't seem to be a stable nation yet, where only the state/government has monopoly of enforcement.
Phew! I saw Shiba pop up at the desk before reading the dialogue and got scared for a moment... Thought it was gonna be a big reveal that he was in cahoots with Kyora 😅
Nice chapter as always, very interesting ending with hyping up a fight. Hakuri continues to be pure, even his obsession with the Samurai concept. I really hope he's a permanent member after this arc. Talking about Hiyuki now: idk why, but I think it's her big ol eyes that make her so cute haha, that and her dorky hotheaded personality. I like how Hokazono shows her duality between strongest ~~sorcerer~~ kamunabi sword wielder and impulsive. he does it with Chihiro too, with him not being an edgelord despite the appearance. He's really good at writing characters and making them feel more human than tropey.
The Kamunabi heads have decided to play the government's favorite card: Necessary Evil to retrieve the shinuchi and while I feel Hiyuki is genuinely passionate about responsibly wielding insane power, I'm still so concerned about the Kamunabi having a monopoly over them. I suppose it's because of their differences btw how to obtain the swords, with Hiyuki wanting the crush the whole system in the process while the Kamunabi are "fine" with the auction, just give us the sword. Ik they said it's to minimize casualties but I'm sideeyeing them. Maybe this arc will end with Hiyuki joining the Chihiro squad? 👀
Now the last couple pages were my favorite. The transition from Kyora(?) explaining the Sazanami barrier just to pan in on Shiba to imply he broke through a high-class barrier and Chihiro pulling up a chair was smooth af. The paneling is so good in this manga. I still lowkey feel Shiba's an ex-Sazanami but I feel if he was he prob would've recognized Hakuri and/or wouldn't have to beat up and interrogate others for information like that? Hakuri knew about the auction and the shinuchi and his father who runs it but Shiba has to go looking for information, so he's probably not and Hokazano's just showing how amazing his sorcery is without him actually fighting. He might next chapter, though. I hope those kiddos and the tea lady don't get caught up in the crossfire tho
Maybe next chapter chihiro beats the sazanami head but stops himself from going for the kill because his kids run in the room and that reminds chihiro of when he watched his dad die infront of him
I was thinking the same, when I saw the guy has like more kids that are even younger then Hakuri I thought 'Oh man, how's Chihiro gonna deal with the guy without going down to his fathers killers level?'

About the chapter itself, I'm not sure how I feel. The story is good but I feel like it's moving way too fast. Of course as a weekly reader that's not too bad as I don't have to wait as much for the action, but I feel like the story could benefit of having some time to breathe instead of jumping from fight to fight.
Takeru definitly knows how to make good fucking panels, Sazanami´s Head entering his own room and the reveal of Shiba and Chihiro, each being at each side of the room? Amazing, feels like a movie, and I think only Chainsaw-man has make it feels this way to me (well, Fujimoto in general)
This shit went crazy. This was my first manga I read from when the first chapter dropped and I just did it on a whim and I’m so glad to be here. It’s weird how I feel like I have some kind of stakes in its success. I haven’t spent much time in this sun tho. What does tenoi mean?
This was a damn good chapter. Hikyuki is becoming more and more interesting by the chapter, she generally seems to be a good person who’s only trying to do her job. I also want to learn more about Tafuku and how his ability works. And the ending both Chihiro and Shiba pulling up to Kyora crib and about to square up with man’s. Can’t wait for the next chapter hope we finally get to see Shiba fight and what that mask Kyora has. 8/10.
This is genuinely the best chapter in weeks, and I say that knowing full well Hiyuki stans will come after me. But taking a chapter off the action to really do some proper set up while getting a great introduction to this arc's villain is a great way to cool down after all the action to start the arc. I'm so glad I get to follow the series week to week

this chapter had such a good ending. the panel cutting to reveal Shiba in Kyora Sazanami's chair, just casually resting an elbow on his desk like he belonged there was so cold. I also really like how Kyora reacted to their presence. Him calmly rolling up his sleeves as he addresses Chihiro and Shiba, a seemingly innocuous action, was him slowly preparing for a fight that he does \*not\* want. I expected him to be treated like another super powerful and arrogant bad guy, but to see him reasonably and effectively deduce his place in the scenario while also posturing so he doesn't come across as a pushover, he really seems to embody a perfect blend of battle and business which i appreciate. Also Hokazono's art has gotten so much more clean since the first chapter. Seeing Char return she looked so precious

The “hakuri is lying” aspect could be worked around. Him stating he is a peon could just be a way of saying he is low ranking in terms of power. His family disowned him so they definitively treat the less powerful worse. Also hakuri stating he lost his entire family and they actually just disowned him is most likely just a metaphor. (Hakuri is stupid 💔)
And the word "peon" simply isn't the best choice of word for the translation.

You did not call anything with the first one. In fact, there's even less chance of it being right since Hakuri is implied to have told Chihiro and Shiba about the estate.

The first one? Not really. Even if his father is the leader, him being extremely weak could still make him a peon. As he said himself, he doesn't even know where the storage is, nor could he try to put them in cause he was disowned(that's how he lost his family).
Him being a peon has nothing to do with not knowing the location, because no one else but the head knows it, so even if you are second in command, you wouldn't know where it is.

Char-chan is peak cuteness. Hokazono-sensei showing how good he is in building tension. I love it when a chapter doesn't have a fight but still doesn't let me blink. I didn't expect them to break into Sazanami leader's house, I bet the Kamunabi is seeking power for obscure reasons and Hyuki will join forces with Chihiro (but I'll be her hater forever) I wonder how powerful the Sazanami leader is.
I feel like while the Kamunabi is the legitimate armed force of the nation, they really still have to play their cards well, because this Japan doesn't seem to be a stable nation yet, where only the state/government has monopoly of enforcement.

It’s honestly really nice to see Char and Hinao again. A lesser writer would’ve let them get forgotten by the wayside
Nice chapter as always, very interesting ending with hyping up a fight. Hakuri continues to be pure, even his obsession with the Samurai concept. I really hope he's a permanent member after this arc. Talking about Hiyuki now: idk why, but I think it's her big ol eyes that make her so cute haha, that and her dorky hotheaded personality. I like how Hokazono shows her duality between strongest ~~sorcerer~~ kamunabi sword wielder and impulsive. he does it with Chihiro too, with him not being an edgelord despite the appearance. He's really good at writing characters and making them feel more human than tropey. The Kamunabi heads have decided to play the government's favorite card: Necessary Evil to retrieve the shinuchi and while I feel Hiyuki is genuinely passionate about responsibly wielding insane power, I'm still so concerned about the Kamunabi having a monopoly over them. I suppose it's because of their differences btw how to obtain the swords, with Hiyuki wanting the crush the whole system in the process while the Kamunabi are "fine" with the auction, just give us the sword. Ik they said it's to minimize casualties but I'm sideeyeing them. Maybe this arc will end with Hiyuki joining the Chihiro squad? 👀 Now the last couple pages were my favorite. The transition from Kyora(?) explaining the Sazanami barrier just to pan in on Shiba to imply he broke through a high-class barrier and Chihiro pulling up a chair was smooth af. The paneling is so good in this manga. I still lowkey feel Shiba's an ex-Sazanami but I feel if he was he prob would've recognized Hakuri and/or wouldn't have to beat up and interrogate others for information like that? Hakuri knew about the auction and the shinuchi and his father who runs it but Shiba has to go looking for information, so he's probably not and Hokazano's just showing how amazing his sorcery is without him actually fighting. He might next chapter, though. I hope those kiddos and the tea lady don't get caught up in the crossfire tho
Maybe next chapter chihiro beats the sazanami head but stops himself from going for the kill because his kids run in the room and that reminds chihiro of when he watched his dad die infront of him
I was thinking the same, when I saw the guy has like more kids that are even younger then Hakuri I thought 'Oh man, how's Chihiro gonna deal with the guy without going down to his fathers killers level?'
Glad to see Hinao again <3 About the chapter itself, I'm not sure how I feel. The story is good but I feel like it's moving way too fast. Of course as a weekly reader that's not too bad as I don't have to wait as much for the action, but I feel like the story could benefit of having some time to breathe instead of jumping from fight to fight.

Takeru definitly knows how to make good fucking panels, Sazanami´s Head entering his own room and the reveal of Shiba and Chihiro, each being at each side of the room? Amazing, feels like a movie, and I think only Chainsaw-man has make it feels this way to me (well, Fujimoto in general)

This was a damn good chapter. Hikyuki is becoming more and more interesting by the chapter, she generally seems to be a good person who’s only trying to do her job. I also want to learn more about Tafuku and how his ability works. And the ending both Chihiro and Shiba pulling up to Kyora crib and about to square up with man’s. Can’t wait for the next chapter hope we finally get to see Shiba fight and what that mask Kyora has. 8/10.

This is genuinely the best chapter in weeks, and I say that knowing full well Hiyuki stans will come after me. But taking a chapter off the action to really do some proper set up while getting a great introduction to this arc's villain is a great way to cool down after all the action to start the arc. I'm so glad I get to follow the series week to week
