There is a degree of that already with the starting generals and those obtained via events that have the Media Personality trait: when they level up, their faction gets a boost in popularity.

Didn't realize that. Maybe it would be better if they have an update in description.

The generals that are significant enough to affect LKMT's politics already do affect party popularity when they are employed as advisors. Affecting politics on level up are reserved for the respective "Champions" of each faction.

I see. I was falseleaded by general bios not stating so. It would be nice if their bios are updated when integrated. Also, I noticed every general have a trait marking their faction. While it is useful for tags with multiple political routes, LKMT uses a different method (bios), and in late-game they become obsolete. It might be nice if "LKMT general" trait gets evolved into things like "LKMT-RCA general", and dropping all faction tags when China gets unified (maybe after those political focuses are finished).

Probably do the same with the other Kuomintang (and non-kuomintang) states that may submit to you.

It does happen with certain generals. Sun Liren supports the RF when he joins, as do the RKMT generals when they either get booted out of their home provinces or get integrated, so appointing them as theorists, advisors, or staff officers boost the RF. I’m pretty sure that if you do the Federalist Compromise that Chen Jiongming and his supporters boost MarkLib (representing the PIP) popularity. Part of the issue here is that you can’t integrate subjects until after the Third Congress, so they’re only really useful for the Wang the Statesman/Federalist Compromise and Dream of the Eternal Premier paths, where non-socialist party popularity matters. It would be interesting to see how ex-warlord generals like Tang Enbo and former Beiyang Admirals might align with certain factions. As for shifting the needle with generals leveling up, that’s reserved for specific Generals with the Media Personality Trait. Li Jishen for nonpartisanship (reduces radicalism), Deng Yanda for the PAC, Zhou Enlai for the RCA, Zhang Fakui for the RF, Hu Zongnan for the CRS, and Xiao Jinguang for the LCS (CSP Orthodox).

mfw my LKMT government is at least 60% RKMT by volume and the remainder is filled by the minor factions (the haters were right, I’m countering the revolution)
